creation week and gives us 00:03:00.719 --> 00:03:02.079 sort of a different angle. 00:03:02.079 --> 00:03:04.719 And one of the ways that scholars and theologians 00:03:04.719 --> 00:03:07.959 and the church have talked about Genesis two for centuries 00:03:07.959 --> 00:03:12.319 is that it really does explain the image of God 00:03:12.319 --> 00:03:15.359 that we read about at the end of Genesis chapter one. 00:03:15.359 --> 00:03:17.299 And so last week we talked about the fact 00:03:17.299 --> 00:03:19.099 that part of what it means to be made in the image of God 00:03:19.099 --> 00:03:22.099 is we were made for God to be in relationship with God, 00:03:22.099 --> 00:03:25.099 a deep relationship and that we're made for Sabbath, 00:03:25.099 --> 00:03:28.599 which really means ultimately to enter into God's rest. 00:03:28.599 --> 00:03:30.579 And this week we look at the next aspect 00:03:30.579 --> 00:03:33.419 of what it means to be made in the image of God 00:03:33.419 --> 00:03:38.219 through this word that we get in Genesis 126, dominion, 00:03:38.219 --> 00:03:40.919 that then is explained I think a little bit more 00:03:40.919 --> 00:03:43.319 in the details of Genesis chapter two. 00:03:43.319 --> 00:03:45.959 And so there are really three words that you need 00:03:45.959 --> 00:03:48.759 to understand and to live into this call 00:03:48.759 --> 00:03:51.500 that we all have as God's image bearers 00:03:51.500 --> 00:03:54.659 to take dominion as God puts it in Genesis one. 00:03:54.659 --> 00:03:58.400 And the three words are this, the word culture, 00:03:58.400 --> 00:04:00.939 work and power. 00:04:00.939 --> 00:04:03.879 Three things we all have in our call to culture, 00:04:03.879 --> 00:04:05.400 work and power. 00:04:05.400 --> 00:04:08.039 And that's what this concept of dominion means. 00:04:08.039 --> 00:04:10.420 So let's think about that together. 00:04:10.420 --> 00:04:12.379 First, culture. 00:04:12.379 --> 00:04:14.520 If you have a Bible, you can flip back with me 00:04:14.520 --> 00:04:18.319 just a couple of verses to chapter one, verse 26, 00:04:18.319 --> 00:04:21.519 where it says that God made us in his image. 00:04:21.519 --> 00:04:24.000 So we all have dignity made in God's image 00:04:24.000 --> 00:04:26.860 every single human no matter what they believe in. 00:04:26.860 --> 00:04:29.360 And then the very next line is, 00:04:29.360 --> 00:04:32.939 and let humans have dominion over the fish, 00:04:32.939 --> 00:04:34.600 over the birds, over the heavens, 00:04:34.600 --> 00:04:36.639 over the sky, the sea and the land. 00:04:36.639 --> 00:04:41.639 And so the closest clause to the word image 00:04:42.920 --> 00:04:44.039 is let them have dominion. 00:04:44.039 --> 00:04:45.939 And so we know that dominion is very important 00:04:45.939 --> 00:04:48.360 for what it means to talk about the image. 00:04:48.360 --> 00:04:51.839 And this word dominion is a royal term. 00:04:51.839 --> 00:04:55.160 So it's a term of kingship and queenship. 00:04:55.160 --> 00:04:58.620 It's a term that says that we participate 00:04:58.620 --> 00:05:01.680 in God's royal rule over all of creation 00:05:01.680 --> 00:05:04.100 as sons and daughters of the king, human beings. 00:05:04.100 --> 00:05:05.659 That we have a royal stewardship 00:05:05.659 --> 00:05:07.279 over everything that God has made 00:05:07.279 --> 00:05:09.659 as the pinnacle creature of creation. 00:05:09.659 --> 00:05:11.920 And there's a second verb just after that 00:05:11.920 --> 00:05:13.139 that helps explain it as well. 00:05:13.139 --> 00:05:17.279 And it's down in verse 28, and it's the verb God says, 00:05:17.279 --> 00:05:19.000 and God blessed them and he said to be fruitful 00:05:19.000 --> 00:05:22.360 and multiply and then he tells them to subdue. 00:05:22.360 --> 00:05:25.979 And subdue, to subdue the land, subdue the earth 00:05:25.979 --> 00:05:27.839 is another way of talking about dominion. 00:05:27.839 --> 00:05:30.659 And really it's a verb of service and stewardship. 00:05:30.659 --> 00:05:34.519 So it means to take all the stuff that God has made 00:05:34.519 --> 00:05:37.620 and given us and use it for the purposes 00:05:37.620 --> 00:05:40.779 that God has given us to use it for in this world. 00:05:40.779 --> 00:05:43.699 So in other words, it's to take nature, 00:05:43.699 --> 00:05:47.239 the natural world and form nature into a garden. 00:05:47.239 --> 00:05:49.679 That's taking dominion and subduing. 00:05:49.679 --> 00:05:53.599 And that's one of the basic ways we image God into the world. 00:05:53.599 --> 00:05:56.239 We're royal, we have a royal stewardship 00:05:56.239 --> 00:05:58.679 over all of creation and over all the things 00:05:58.679 --> 00:05:59.959 that God's made. 00:05:59.959 --> 00:06:03.879 Now, this has been called for a long time now 00:06:03.879 --> 00:06:07.919 the cultural mandate, the cultural mandate, 00:06:07.920 --> 00:06:12.400 mandate, the command of God to make culture. 00:06:12.400 --> 00:06:16.120 Genesis 1, 26 to 28 explained in Genesis chapter two. 00:06:16.120 --> 00:06:18.319 And it's the command that we've just looked at 00:06:18.319 --> 00:06:21.439 to rule, to subdue, to take dominion over sky, 00:06:21.439 --> 00:06:23.360 sea and land, over the birds and the fish 00:06:23.360 --> 00:06:24.439 and all the creatures. 00:06:24.439 --> 00:06:27.879 And it's not domination, never domination, dominion, 00:06:27.879 --> 00:06:29.040 a different concept. 00:06:29.040 --> 00:06:31.960 And another way to say it is we're called to be, 00:06:31.960 --> 00:06:35.759 as human beings, to be culture makers in this world. 00:06:35.759 --> 00:06:36.879 That's the cultural mandate. 00:06:36.879 --> 00:06:37.800 What does that mean? 00:06:37.800 --> 00:06:39.639 When we think about the word culture, 00:06:40.680 --> 00:06:44.600 probably some of us will think about being a cultured person. 00:06:44.600 --> 00:06:46.680 So you'll think about people who go to symphonies 00:06:46.680 --> 00:06:47.720 at Usher Hall. 00:06:47.720 --> 00:06:50.240 You'll think about people who read a lot of books. 00:06:50.240 --> 00:06:53.560 You'll think about posh culture, to be cultured. 00:06:53.560 --> 00:06:55.480 And that's, we use it that way, 00:06:55.480 --> 00:06:56.879 but that's not really what the word means. 00:06:56.879 --> 00:07:00.800 Culture just comes from the concept of cultivation. 00:07:00.800 --> 00:07:03.680 And we're from the very beginning as human beings 00:07:03.680 --> 00:07:08.079 called to take the stuff that God made and cultivate the world, 00:07:08.079 --> 00:07:10.199 to make more stuff out of it. 00:07:10.199 --> 00:07:13.720 And so we cultivate our households, we cultivate gardens. 00:07:13.720 --> 00:07:16.439 Some of you enjoy cultivating spreadsheets. 00:07:16.439 --> 00:07:19.519 It's a culture I don't understand, but I know it's good 00:07:19.519 --> 00:07:20.720 and we need it. 00:07:20.720 --> 00:07:22.960 These are all different ways we cultivate. 00:07:22.960 --> 00:07:25.040 We're culture makers. 00:07:25.040 --> 00:07:27.319 That's what it means to take dominion and subdue. 00:07:27.319 --> 00:07:28.680 And so every single one of us today, 00:07:28.680 --> 00:07:31.680 if you are a human being, no matter what God has made from nothing 00:07:38.639 --> 00:07:41.240 and use it and wield it into new stuff, 00:07:41.240 --> 00:07:42.319 in all sorts of different ways. 00:07:42.319 --> 00:07:45.120 And that can mean taking dishes from the dishwasher 00:07:45.120 --> 00:07:46.400 and putting them into the cabinet. 00:07:46.400 --> 00:07:47.560 That's cultivation. 00:07:47.560 --> 00:07:49.960 That can mean inventing the iPhone, right? 00:07:49.960 --> 00:07:51.639 Only one or two people can talk about it. 00:07:51.639 --> 00:07:54.160 That type of cultivation, but it's all cultivation. 00:07:54.160 --> 00:07:55.800 It's culture making. 00:07:55.800 --> 00:07:57.000 And we're all called to do it. 00:07:57.000 --> 00:07:59.720 So dominion, as the image of God, 00:07:59.720 --> 00:08:01.319 you're called to be a culture maker. 00:08:01.319 --> 00:08:03.839 Now, when you come to chapter two, 00:08:03.839 --> 00:08:06.159 if you look at chapter two really carefully, 00:08:06.159 --> 00:08:10.040 it's a closer look into that and another way of seeing it. 00:08:10.040 --> 00:08:13.040 And so from verse four, where we started reading, 00:08:13.040 --> 00:08:16.600 we have the lines, these are the generations 00:08:16.600 --> 00:08:18.480 of the heavens and the earth. 00:08:18.480 --> 00:08:20.680 This is the beginning sentence 00:08:20.680 --> 00:08:23.959 of the overall structure of the book of Genesis. 00:08:23.959 --> 00:08:25.560 So Genesis is actually structured 00:08:25.560 --> 00:08:29.360 with an introduction, creation, up to chapter two, verse three. 00:08:29.360 --> 00:08:33.840 And then the rest of Genesis is formed by 10 genealogies. 00:08:33.840 --> 00:08:36.120 And every one of those genealogies starts as, 00:08:36.120 --> 00:08:38.240 these are the generations of. 00:08:38.240 --> 00:08:40.399 And so here it says, first genealogy, 00:08:40.399 --> 00:08:42.840 these are the generations of the heavens and the earth. 00:08:42.840 --> 00:08:46.080 So we're about to get the story, the first character, 00:08:46.080 --> 00:08:48.200 the heavens and the earth, material. 00:08:48.200 --> 00:08:50.519 The first character that the book focuses on 00:08:50.519 --> 00:08:53.159 is the material land, the sky, the sea. 00:08:53.159 --> 00:08:55.480 And if you were to keep reading the book of Genesis, 00:08:55.480 --> 00:08:58.039 you would find in chapter five, verse one, 00:08:58.039 --> 00:09:00.319 these are the generations of Adam. 00:09:00.319 --> 00:09:03.439 Chapter six, verse nine, these are the generations of Noah. 00:09:03.439 --> 00:09:05.839 Chapter 10, these are the generations of the sons of Noah 00:09:05.839 --> 00:09:08.159 and so on and so forth, 10 different times. 00:09:08.159 --> 00:09:10.120 That's how the whole book is structured. 00:09:10.120 --> 00:09:12.679 That means we're being told in chapter two, 00:09:12.679 --> 00:09:16.000 the very first character, the very first story 00:09:16.000 --> 00:09:19.799 is a genealogy of the land itself, the heavens and the earth. 00:09:20.799 --> 00:09:23.559 And then right after that in verse five to seven, 00:09:24.360 --> 00:09:26.279 and when you realize that it's not surprising, 00:09:26.279 --> 00:09:28.839 we're told when there was no bush of the field, 00:09:28.839 --> 00:09:33.279 no plant yet, no rain coming down, no human yet, 00:09:33.279 --> 00:09:36.399 to take care of the heavens and the earth, 00:09:36.399 --> 00:09:40.519 to irrigate the land, God raised up a human being. 00:09:40.519 --> 00:09:41.839 And so immediately we're saying, 00:09:41.839 --> 00:09:43.120 oh, the story of the heavens and the earth, 00:09:43.120 --> 00:09:46.199 the land is a story of the human relationship 00:09:46.199 --> 00:09:48.079 to the material world. 00:09:48.079 --> 00:09:49.959 And how was Adam formed? 00:09:49.959 --> 00:09:51.839 The first human was formed, we're told, 00:09:51.839 --> 00:09:55.639 out of the matter, the dust, the stuff of the ground. 00:09:55.639 --> 00:09:57.159 And if you were here a couple of weeks ago, 00:09:57.159 --> 00:09:59.319 we said that the word Adam, 00:09:59.319 --> 00:10:03.039 which is exactly that word in Hebrew, A-D-A-M, Adam, 00:10:03.039 --> 00:10:05.159 is here followed by a word 00:10:05.159 --> 00:10:07.360 that sounds just like Adam in Hebrew. 00:10:07.360 --> 00:10:11.080 So when it says God raised Adam from the dust of the ground, 00:10:11.080 --> 00:10:15.720 the Hebrew word is Adamah, A-D-A-M-A-H. 00:10:15.720 --> 00:10:18.080 And so the story of the heavens and the earth, 00:10:18.080 --> 00:10:19.600 you hear that connection? 00:10:19.600 --> 00:10:23.519 That human beings were, Adam was raised from the Adamah, 00:10:23.519 --> 00:10:25.759 that we are a people made from the ground, 00:10:25.759 --> 00:10:29.039 for the ground, for the land, 00:10:29.039 --> 00:10:31.639 to rule and take dominion, to subdue the earth, 00:10:31.639 --> 00:10:34.240 that tight interconnection between us 00:10:34.240 --> 00:10:37.039 and our material surroundings all around us. 00:10:37.039 --> 00:10:38.360 We're embodied creatures, 00:10:38.360 --> 00:10:40.120 we've been saying that throughout the series. 00:10:40.120 --> 00:10:43.639 And then right after that, in verse 10 to 14, 00:10:43.639 --> 00:10:46.720 it's interesting why in the midst of this creation story, 00:10:46.720 --> 00:10:49.519 would all of a sudden God give us this text that says, 00:10:49.519 --> 00:10:52.319 and by the way, there's bedelium and onyx stone 00:10:52.320 --> 00:10:53.440 and gold in that land. 00:10:53.440 --> 00:10:55.440 And also there's these four rivers, 00:10:55.440 --> 00:10:57.040 the Tigris and the Euphrates. 00:10:57.040 --> 00:10:59.360 And that's next to what you know, 00:10:59.360 --> 00:11:02.000 early readers as a Syria. 00:11:02.000 --> 00:11:06.000 And we're being told all of this geographical data. 00:11:06.000 --> 00:11:07.760 And why in the world are we being talked about 00:11:07.760 --> 00:11:10.560 in the creation story about rivers and onyx stone? 00:11:10.560 --> 00:11:13.280 And it's because we were made for the land 00:11:13.280 --> 00:11:14.400 and the land was made for us. 00:11:14.400 --> 00:11:17.320 And that means when there are rivers and they intersect, 00:11:17.320 --> 00:11:20.720 you can put a boat on a river that the ground 00:12:18.519 --> 00:12:23.519 and the mist, the dust, the breath, the nostrils, 00:12:23.519 --> 00:12:27.279 the garden, the east, organic growth, trees, food, rivers, 00:12:27.279 --> 00:12:31.000 gold, bedelium, onyx stone, fertility, place names, 00:12:31.000 --> 00:12:35.159 Tigris, Euphrates, Assyria, Kush, it's geography. 00:12:35.159 --> 00:12:37.600 And that means that we're being told here 00:12:37.600 --> 00:12:40.600 that we are made to use the stuff God made 00:12:40.600 --> 00:12:41.800 and be culture makers. 00:12:41.799 --> 00:12:46.279 Tolkien, the writer of the Lord of the Rings, JRR Tolkien, 00:12:46.279 --> 00:12:50.759 he wrote a famous letter, letter number 153 00:12:50.759 --> 00:12:54.240 in his series of letters, the book that comprises his letters. 00:12:54.240 --> 00:12:57.359 Then he wrote this letter to a man called Peter Hastings, 00:12:57.359 --> 00:13:01.039 who was a Roman Catholic bookshop owner in Oxford. 00:13:01.039 --> 00:13:03.479 And Peter loved the Lord of the Rings 00:13:03.479 --> 00:13:04.959 in the early days when they just came out. 00:13:04.959 --> 00:13:07.959 But he wrote to Tolkien upset and he said that 00:13:07.960 --> 00:13:10.879 one of the mistakes in the Lord of the Rings 00:13:12.280 --> 00:13:16.320 was that he, Tolkien gave too much power, he thought, 00:13:16.320 --> 00:13:20.480 to Gandalf, Tom Bombadil, and Treebeard, one of the ints. 00:13:20.480 --> 00:13:22.519 And he said, when I read the book, 00:13:22.519 --> 00:13:24.759 these characters have too much power. 00:13:24.759 --> sometimes in a culture like ours, 00:16:41.639 --> 00:16:43.839 knowledge work can look down upon manual work 00:16:43.839 --> 00:16:45.159 and manual labor. 00:16:45.159 --> 00:16:46.919 And actually, the very first thing we see 00:16:46.919 --> 00:16:49.199 in the beginning of human history is that God says, 00:16:49.199 --> 00:16:52.639 you were made so good, manual labor is so good. 00:16:52.639 --> 00:16:55.519 There's no such thing as hierarchy in this. 00:16:55.519 --> 00:16:57.639 There's never any space for us to look down 00:16:57.639 --> 00:17:01.960 on any type of worker as long as that work is not sinful. 00:17:01.960 --> 00:17:04.960 All, this is a bit of a truism, 00:17:04.960 --> 00:17:07.440 but all non-simple work is good. 00:17:07.440 --> 00:17:10.599 And there's nothing that looks more like Genesis too, 00:17:10.599 --> 00:17:13.119 perhaps, in a sinful and broken world 00:17:13.119 --> 00:17:15.680 than the janitorial service that comes to our in a broken and fallen world than a job like that. 00:17:30.880 --> 00:17:32.920 And so here we see that work is good, 00:17:32.920 --> 00:17:35.799 manual work is good, knowledge work is good. --> 00:18:14.279 The problem we all have, many of us have, of overwork. 00:18:14.279 --> 00:18:15.240 And so last week we said, 00:18:15.240 --> 00:18:16.880 you need to enter into God's rest 00:18:16.880 --> 00:18:18.960 and stop your working on the Sabbath day. 00:18:18.960 --> 00:18:21.000 Lay your deadly doings down. 00:18:21.000 --> 00:18:22.600 But a more specific way to get at that 00:18:22.599 --> 00:18:25.919 is the real ditch for many of us in the modern world 00:18:25.919 --> 00:18:29.240 is that we overwork because we've taken the power 00:18:29.240 --> 00:18:32.879 of culture making and used it for selfish ambition. 00:18:34.000 --> 00:18:36.159 And God in Genesis one says, 00:18:36.159 --> 00:18:37.879 let us make man in our image. 00:18:37.879 --> 00:18:40.599 But when you come to Genesis 11, 00:18:40.599 --> 00:18:43.079 these culture makers who had the power 00:18:43.079 --> 00:18:45.159 to take bedelium and other stones 00:18:45.159 --> 00:18:47.000 and build a great tower to the heavens, 00:18:47.000 --> 00:18:49.000 what did they say at the Tower of Babel? 00:18:49.000 --> 00:18:52.519 They said, let us make a name for ourselves. 00:18:52.519 --> 00:18:54.200 God said, let us make man in our image 00:18:54.200 --> 00:18:56.440 to wield their work in a way that honors God. 00:18:56.440 --> 00:18:57.639 At the Tower of Babel, we said, 00:18:57.639 --> 00:19:00.559 let us make a name for ourselves with our work. 00:19:00.559 --> 00:19:03.240 And so the biggest and first problem we face 00:19:03.240 --> 00:19:06.039 with culture making is that we in our hearts 00:19:06.039 --> 00:19:08.160 immediately turn it around and say, 00:19:08.160 --> 00:19:10.200 thank you for giving us the ability, 00:19:10.200 --> 00:19:13.480 but now I'm here to build my own little kingdom. 00:19:13.480 --> 00:19:16.680 My money, my bank account. 00:19:16.680 --> 00:19:18.759 I've been called to steward the resources you've given me, 00:19:18.759 --> 00:19:21.240 but now they're mine. 00:19:21.240 --> 00:19:23.519 So we build a sky to the heavens, a tower. 00:19:23.519 --> 00:19:24.640 We build our own kingdoms. 00:19:24.640 --> 00:19:27.319 We pursue work through the means of selfish ambition. 00:19:28.440 --> 00:19:30.519 The other ditch that we can fall into 00:19:30.519 --> 00:19:32.599 with being a culture maker 00:19:32.599 --> 00:19:34.440 is one we didn't talk about last time, 00:19:34.440 --> 00:19:37.880 and that's the opposite problem, which is under work. 00:19:38.960 --> 00:19:43.960 And under work in the Bible is called slothfulness, laziness. 00:19:44.960 --> 00:19:47.799 And this is not a modern productivity conversation. 00:19:47.799 --> 00:19:48.640 This is biblical. 00:19:48.640 --> 00:19:50.640 This is all over the proverbs 00:19:50.640 --> 00:19:52.600 that many of us struggle with overwork, 00:19:52.600 --> 00:19:54.560 many of us struggle with underwork, 00:19:54.560 --> 00:19:56.880 and all of us are gonna go in one direction 00:19:56.880 --> 00:19:58.480 or the other in our lives. 00:19:58.480 --> 00:20:00.040 And so some of us today's, 00:20:00.040 --> 00:20:01.759 we all need to hear one or the other. 00:20:01.759 --> 00:20:02.920 Some of us need to hear, 00:20:03.800 --> 00:20:08.280 six days you show labor and one day you will rest. 00:20:08.280 --> --> 00:20:32.319 Underwork or overwork, you'll be empty in either direction. 00:20:32.319 --> 00:20:33.519 Either you're living for yourself 00:20:33.519 --> 00:20:34.920 and building your own little kingdom, 00:20:34.920 --> 00:20:37.559 or you're not fulfilling the calling you've been given 00:20:37.559 --> 00:20:40.400 to actually be a worker that makes things in this world, 00:20:40.400 --> 00:20:41.400 either direction. 00:20:41.400 --> 00:20:44.680 Now let me give you three ways this can go very right. 00:20:44.680 --> 00:20:46.000 And they're very short. 00:20:46.000 --> 00:20:48.039 One is this, in verse 15 we're told 00:20:48.039 --> 00:20:50.359 that God put Adam in the garden 00:20:50.359 --> 00:20:53.159 and he told him, work and keep the garden, 00:20:53.159 --> 00:20:54.359 the place I've put you. 00:20:55.240 --> 00:20:57.799 That means that God created us as culture makers 00:20:57.799 --> 00:21:00.720 and he created us as workers and he put us where we are. 00:21:00.720 --> 00:21:03.000 And that means one way to protect yourself 00:21:03.000 --> 00:21:05.799 from these twin ditches is to always remember 00:21:05.799 --> 00:21:07.920 that ultimately God is your boss. 00:21:08.839 --> 00:21:11.680 Your local boss is not your ultimate boss. 00:21:12.559 --> 00:21:14.359 And maybe that's good news for you today 00:21:14.359 --> 00:21:15.720 if you don't work it and keep it. 00:21:39.839 --> 00:21:43.400 The verb keep there is a verb of organization, 00:21:43.400 --> 00:21:46.160 beautification and protection. 00:21:47.160 --> 00:21:49.280 And that means one of the things we're being called to 00:21:49.280 --> 00:21:52.759 is in our work, is your work meaningful and fulfilling? 00:21:52.759 --> 00:21:54.240 One of the things you can ask is, 00:21:54.240 --> 00:21:57.640 am I working in order to keep it? 00:21:57.640 --> 00:22:01.880 Meaning to push back chaos and death in this world 00:22:01.880 --> 00:22:06.440 in some way to make something more beautiful than it was 00:22:06.440 --> 00:22:09.640 and to pursue what's good, not evil in this world. 00:22:09.640 --> 00:22:11.920 Is your work in any way participating in that? underworked. 00:28:59.120 --> 00:29:01.120 We know he was a carpenter who worked in exactly 00:29:01.120 --> 00:29:03.640 the right way he should have throughout his life. 00:29:03.640 --> 00:29:04.560 He was a culture maker. 00:29:04.560 --> 00:29:06.040 You know, think about the things that Jesus 00:29:06.040 --> 00:29:08.240 has given the world culturally. 00:29:09.400 --> 00:29:11.920 He gave us the parable of the Good Samaritan. 00:29:11.920 --> 00:29:13.519 He gave us the parable of the prodigal son. 00:29:13.519 --> 00:29:15.079 He gave us this whole genre. 00:29:15.079 --> 00:29:19.119 He gave us eating with tax collectors and sinners 00:29:19.119 --> 00:29:20.839 in a world that did not allow that. 00:29:20.839 --> 00:29:23.599 He disrupted and remade the culture. 00:29:23.599 --> 00:29:26.359 Jesus Christ ultimately offered the world by his death 00:29:26.359 --> 00:29:29.799 and resurrection the culture of the very kingdom of God 00:29:29.799 -->
