about last week how oftentimes we forget the fact that the husbandman is the one who prunes, 00:01:04.980 --> 00:01:12.920 who cleans, who takes care of the vine, and sometimes prunes branches that might be bushy. 00:01:12.920 --> 00:01:18.960 You know, they might have a lot of leaves, but aren't producing fruit the way they ought to produce. 00:01:18.959 --> 00:01:24.000 And that's sometimes, the pruning in our life can sometimes be uncomfortable. 00:01:24.219 --> 00:01:29.619 And you know, the disciples were about to experience some pruning in their life. 00:01:29.620 --> 00:01:35.620 Just as us today, we've experienced God's pruning in your life. 00:01:35.620 --> 00:01:41.920 Because when we realize that our relationship to him is not about a program, 00:01:42.160 --> 00:01:44.760 place you visit. 00:06:08.159 --> 00:06:11.659 Because sometimes we have a tendency to want to visit God. 00:06:11.660 --> 00:06:15.280 But abiding is this. 00:06:15.480 --> 00:06:16.660 Abiding is different. 00:06:17.240 --> 00:06:19.420 Abiding is more than a visit. 00:06:19.920 --> 00:06:21.980 Instead, it is a place that you stay. 00:06:22.400 --> 00:06:24.080 You abide at home. 00:06:25.020 Father, art in me and I in thee, 00:11:47.019 --> 00:11:53.580 and that they may also may be one in us, that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. 00:11:54.639 --> 00:11:59.600 You know, Jesus is saying, you abiding in the vine is greater than yourself. 00:11:59.700 --> 00:12:01.340 It impacts more than you. 00:12:01.340 --> 00:12:10.160 That impact is important to understand because when simply to stay put. 00:12:16.780 --> 00:12:19.560 Have you ever thought, why did Jesus tell the apostles to abide? 00:12:19.980 --> 00:12:24.320 He said, life's going to go upside down, and that's 00:13:13.279 --> 00:13:20.679 Think about that dynamic of God dwelling in us, and he abides in us, and we need to continue in his word. 00:13:20.679 --> 00:13:23.679 And John expresses this concept. 00:13:24.079 --> 00:13:27.759 He talks about 11 times in John 15. 00:13:27.899 --> 00:13:29.259 He uses the word abide. 00:13:29.659 --> 00:13:32.079 You know, whenever you're reading the scripture, let me give you a little help. 00:13:32.719 --> 00:13:38.099 When you see a word repeated, it's probably a word you need to pay attention to. 00:13:38.100 --> 00:13:42.980 When you see something Christ, abiding in the vine, is not a new concept. 00:15:31.720 --> 00:15:37.259 Jesus is just using this as a very focused concept in this passage for the disciples to grab a hold of. 00:15:37.259
