wrong. 00:03:58.060 --> 00:04:00.640 The Bible uses names in quite a different way. 00:04:00.639 --> 00:04:07.119 The Bible is almost, when you look at a name of a person, it's almost as if God says, And Jedidiah means beloved by God. 00:04:18.219 --> 00:04:25.579 And we know from reading Scripture that Solomon or Jedidiah was known to be loved by God. 00:04:25.579 --> 00:04:30.279 Jacob's name, son of Isaac. 00:04:30.680 --> 00:04:35.039 Jacob's name is he takes by the heel or he cheats. 00:04:35.819 --> 00:04:40.860 And if you know the story, he grabbed his brother's heel while being pulled book, the book of Isaiah was written 740 years before Jesus. 00:06:42.420 --> 00:06:46.839 And as we read, we notice that the tense is a little off. 00:06:47.319 --> 00:06:48.459 Knowing that. 00:06:49.319 --> 00:06:51.680 It says, for to us a child is born. 00:06:51.800 --> 00:06:53.459 To us a son is given. 00:06:53.459 --> 00:06:58.239 It's almost as if Isaiah knew what was going to happen. 00:06:58.379 --> 00:07:00.659 Isaiah is proclaiming what is going to come. 00:07:00.959 --> 00:07:02.500 As if it has already happened. 00:07:03.079 --> 00:07:08.060 Reminds me of, as we've gone through Romans chapter 4, verse 21. 00:07:08.279 --> 00:07:12.500 Where it says that Abraham was fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised. 00:07:13.079 --> 00:07:19.779 So Isaiah knew in his writing that Jesus would come. 00:07:19.839 --> 00:07:22.459 And so he could pronounce it as if he had already come. 00:07:22.459 --> 00:07:24.739 For to us a child is born. 00:07:26.219 --> 00:07:27.399 It's an announcement. 00:07:28.199 --> 00:07:30.079 For to us a child is born. 00:07:30.159 --> 00:07:32.479 Now this us, of course, has a general meaning. 00:07:33.639
