Onan's responsibility, 00:09:54.919 --> 00:09:56.539 according to custom and tradition, 00:09:57.399 --> 00:10:00.240 was to become a kind of surrogate father 00:10:00.240 --> 00:10:02.819 for his 00:10:58.199 --> 00:10:59.439 for the first two sons, 00:10:59.779 --> 00:11:01.919 so best to keep son number three 00:11:01.919 --> 00:11:04.059 well away from this Tamar girl. 00:11:04.379 --> 00:11:06.319 It seems that bad things happen 00:11:06.319 --> 00:11:07.459 whenever she's around. 00:11:07.460 --> 00:11:10.060 You could lose your life. 00:11:11.060 --> 00:11:12.080 End of verse 11.
