00:11:28.580 --> 00:11:30.720 He was the ninth of 14 children. 00:11:31.000 --> 00:11:42.720 And at 12 years old, Evan, like many children of his age, left school to go down into the colliery and into the mines along with his father and the rest of his male family. 00:11:44.600 --> 00:11:48.039 With such a limited education, he wasn't well read. 00:11:48.379 --> 00:11:50.000 But Evan knew his Bible. 00:11:50.000 --> 00:11:52.379 Very rarely was he seen without his Bible. 00:11:53.000 --> 00:11:54.659 And he even took it into the mine. 00:11:55.320 --> 00:11:57.259 He was deeply dedicated 00:12:41.939 --> 00:12:46.899 Two, get rid of anything in your life that could get between you and God. 00:12:47.679 --> 00:12:50.539 Three, obey the Holy Spirit. 00:12:50.539 --> 00:12:54.860 And four, publicly declared Jesus a saviour. 00:12:55.319 --> 00:12:59.279 All 17 of the people there made a commitment that night. 00:12:59.599 --> 00:13:04.379 And in the following weeks, they too went And in this move of the Holy Spirit, he shared that message. 00:13:18.259 --> 00:13:20.940 He said himself that he wasn't a great preacher. 00:13:21.700 --> 00:13:27.120 But the message that he'd been
