by that is Paul writes this letter to teach the church 00:00:39.560 --> 00:00:42.100 about a number of different themes. 00:00:42.340 --> 00:00:47.019 And kind of throughout the whole letter, he's developing several arguments, 00:00:47.500 --> 00:00:50.700 and each section builds on the one that came before. 00:00:50.859 --> 00:00:55.399 Almost every paragraph and sentence of Romans is packed full of truth 00:00:55.399 --> 00:01:02.399 about God and Jesus and sin and how we're saved and God's great plan 00:01:02.399 --> 00:01:05.939 and the truth about how we should live as followers of it up in Romans chapter 7, verse 14. 00:01:31.460 --> 00:01:34.099 We know that the law is spiritual. 00:01:36.099 --> 00:01:38.159 Paul is talking about the law of God, 00:01:38.480 --> 00:01:43.960 as in the law that God gave through Moses at Mount Sinai to the Israelites all those years ago. 00:01:43.959 --> 00:01:47.739 So probably a helpful thing to think of when you hear that is the Ten Commandments, 00:01:48.099 --> 00:01:50.780 something from the law that most of us are familiar with. 00:01:52.099 --> 00:01:52.939 Paul says, 00:01:52.939 --> 00:01:55.299 We know that the law is spiritual, 00:01:55.659 --> 00:01:57.579 but I am unspiritual, 00:01:58.579 --> 00:02:00.159 sold as a slave to sin. 00:02:01.200 --> 00:02:03.099 I do not understand what I do. 00:02:03.920 -->
