00:07:00.320 in the Gospel of Luke 00:07:00.320 --> 00:07:05.060 is Jesus is on a three-year march to Jerusalem 00:07:05.060 --> 00:07:07.600 where he's going to die for sinners. 00:07:09.160 --> 00:07:10.300 And on the way, 00:07:10.420 --> 00:07:13.540 he's constantly teaching and preaching 00:07:13.540 --> 00:07:14.580 about a lot of things, 00:07:14.680 --> 00:07:17.100 but one thing that he keeps preaching about 00:07:17.100 --> 00:07:18.280 is the kingdom of God, 00:07:18.360 --> 00:07:19.140 the kingdom of God. 00:07:19.139 --> 00:07:20.259 And even in our passage tonight, 00:07:20.360 --> 00:07:24.399 we have how to enter the kingdom of God. 00:07:26.259 --> 00:07:29.500 And I would like to suggest 00:07:29.500 --> 00:07:33.719 that the kingdom of God 00:07:33.719 --> 00:07:36.399 and the kingdom of man sit side by side. 00:07:36.639 --> 00:07:40.839 Then they have competing value systems, 00:07:41.279 --> 00:07:43.139 they have competing worldviews, 00:07:43.139 --> 00:07:46.899 and they have competing paradigms. 00:07:48.519 --> 00:07:52.579 And Jesus is constantly confronting 00:07:52.579 --> 00:07:57.560 and exposing that people close to him, 00:07:57.639 --> 00:07:58.740 such as his disciples, 00:07:59.699 --> 00:08:01.319 and people on the outside, 00:08:01.560 --> 00:08:03.019 and people, religious leaders, 00:08:03.579 --> 00:08:06.000 and just about everyone he comes into contact with 00:08:06.000 --> 00:08:11.479 is operating under the kingdom of man paradigm. 00:08:11.480 --> 00:08:17.200 So, even as we look at our passage tonight, 00:08:17.360 --> 00:08:18.700 we see right off the bat 00:08:18.700 --> 00:08:21.700 in our first story 00:08:21.700 --> 00:08:28.540 that the disciples have a kingdom of man paradigm 00:08:28.540 --> 00:08:31.080 operating when they deal with this situation 00:08:31.080 --> 00:08:34.220 where the parents are bringing children to Jesus. 00:08:34.420 --> 00:08:35.340 So, here's Jesus. 00:08:35.340 --> 00:08:38.899 He is on his way 00:08:38.899 --> 00:08:41.720 to give up his life 00:08:41.720 --> 00:08:43.200 for murderers, 00:08:44.200 --> 00:08:44.920 liars, 00:08:46.220 --> 00:08:47.259 tax collectors, 00:08:49.600 --> 00:08:50.519 the dregs. 00:08:53.759 --> 00:08:54.080 And 00:08:54.080 --> 00:08:57.560 meanwhile, 00:08:57.680 --> 00:08:59.600 his disciples are guarding him 00:08:59.600 --> 00:09:02.800 from infants and children 00:09:02.799 --> 00:09:05.419 because 00:09:05.419 --> 00:09:07.559 they think 00:09:07.559 --> 00:09:08.299 that Jesus 00:09:08.299 -->
