world, left on its own, hates God. 00:08:52.740 --> 00:08:55.620 The world, left on its own, mocks King Jesus. 00:08:56.399 --> 00:08:59.639 The world, on its own, is at enmity with God. 00:09:01.100 --> 00:09:02.620 Ecclesiastes 9.3 says, 00:09:02.819 --> 00:09:05.879 Your heart, O child of man, every single one, 00:09:06.580 --> 00:09:10.159 is full of evil and madness. 00:09:12.100 --> 00:09:14.240 So, who is it that's a friend of God? 00:09:14.240 --> 00:09:15.700 If that's how the whole world is. 00:09:17.220 --> 00:09:19.340 Well, Romans 5.10 answers that question. 00:09:19.860 --> 00:09:23.600 While we, we all, were enemies with God, 00:09:24.220 --> 00:09:28.600 He reconciled us by the death of His Son. 00:09:30.039 --> 00:09:32.279 So, who are the true friends of God? Christ lay down for you who He calls His friends? 00:10:28.240 --> 00:10:30.100 John Gill helped me see this. 00:10:30.220 --> 00:10:32.319 Christ came down from heaven. 00:10:32.720 --> 00:10:35.580 He laid aside His glory and royal majesty. 00:10:35.960 --> 00:10:37.360 He laid down His life. 00:10:38.439 --> 00:10:41.980 Not only His gold and silver and the riches of heaven, 00:10:43.059 --> 00:10:47.179 not only did He forsake all the riches that He could claim on the world He created, 00:10:47.840 --> 00:10:49.299 they were all His already. 00:10:49.299 --> 00:10:51.240 But He laid all 00:14:15.139 --> 00:14:15.759 Yet He's saying, 00:14:15.819 --> 00:14:16.479 I'm His friend. 00:14:16.740 --> 00:14:17.899 But a servant is the one 00:14:17.899 --> 00:14:18.779 who doesn't understand. 00:14:19.139 --> 00:14:20.219 I was a servant, 00:14:20.279 --> 00:14:21.199 but He's calling me a friend. 00:14:21.200 --> 00:14:26.200 The glorious truth here is this. 00:14:27.080 -->
