--> 00:01:41.419 what is it that has been lacking perhaps? 00:01:41.799 --> 00:01:46.359 What is it that people have been struggling with in the years since Jesus' resurrection? 00:01:46.359 --> 00:01:49.840 And how can I answer those things in writing this Gospel? 00:01:50.340 --> 00:01:52.480 How can I help them to understand better? 00:01:53.480 --> 00:01:56.599 So John thinks about the things that have been written already. 00:01:57.459 --> 00:01:59.900 He thinks about the things that are established, 00:02:00.780 --> 00:02:05.000 the things that people can believe already. 00:02:33.099 In doing that, 00:02:33.139 --> 00:02:35.800 Jesus is not just thinking about people in his own day, 00:02:35.900 --> 00:02:37.300 but he's writing this down 00:02:37.300 --> 00:02:39.080 because he was a good man 00:03:06.599 --> 00:03:09.500 and Allah would not let a good man die on the cross. 00:03:10.259 --> 00:03:12.439 But John has already told us 00:03:12.439 --> 00:03:14.840 of a conversation between himself, 00:03:15.140 --> 00:03:16.219 the beloved disciple, 00:03:16.719 --> 00:03:18.120 and Jesus' own mother 00:03:18.120 --> 00:03:21.840 talking about how John is to become like her son 00:03:21.840 --> 00:03:24.759 and take care of her after Jesus is gone. 00:03:24.759 --> 00:03:28.819 So Jesus has put two very trusted people 00:03:28.819 --> 00:03:30.719 who intimately know Jesus, 00:03:30.959 --> 00:03:32.539 who could not be deceived, 00:03:33.039 --> 00:03:35.679 having a conversation with Jesus at the cross. 00:03:36.419 --> 00:03:38.459 How can we possibly say 00:03:38.459 --> 00:03:40.500 it wasn't really Jesus who died? 00:03:41.180 --> 00:03:42.340 So John, 00:03:42.579 --> 00:03:44.879 there in the goodness of the Holy Spirit, 00:03:45.139 it very clear 00:05:37.759 --> 00:05:39.220 that they went personally, 00:05:39.780 --> 00:05:40.900 they got the body, 00:05:41.180 --> 00:05:42.080 and even if others 00:05:42.080 --> 00:05:42.819 were helping them, 00:05:42.900 --> 00:05:43.759 they were involved 00:05:43.759 --> 00:05:45.540 in not just carrying the body 00:05:45.540 --> 00:05:46.980 and quickly dumping it 00:05:46.980 --> 00:05:47.780 into a tomb, 00:05:48.180 --> 00:05:49.819 but wrapping it in spices 00:05:49.819 --> 00:05:50.600 and linen, 00:05:50.960 --> 00:05:51.720 linen, 00:05:52.120 --> 00:05:53.259 strips of 00:06:50.300 --> 00:06:50.960 and that is 00:06:50.960 --> 00:06:52.740 that the disciples 00:06:52.740 --> 00:06:53.980 really needed 00:06:53.980 --> 00:06:55.620 to have erased Jesus 00:06:55.620 --> 00:06:57.340 or to resurrect Jesus. 00:06:58.020 --> 00:06:58.819 And so they made 00:06:58.819 --> 00:06:59.879 this plot, 00:07:00.340 --> 00:07:01.139 this scam 00:07:01.139 --> 00:07:02.139 to put over 00:07:02.139 --> 00:07:02.759 other people 00:07:02.759 --> 00:07:04.000 that they stole 00:07:04.000 --> 00:07:04.900 away his body, 00:07:05.379 --> 00:07:06.500 that they hid it 00:07:06.500 --> 00:07:07.500 in some other place 00:07:07.500 --> 00:07:08.340 and then they all 00:07:08.340 --> 00:07:08.879 agreed, 00:07:09.319 --> 00:07:10.120 made a compact 00:07:10.120 --> 00:07:10.720 together, 00:07:11.180 --> 00:07:11.800 that they would 00:07:11.800 --> 00:07:13.180 proclaim that Jesus 00:07:13.180 --> 00:07:14.560 was raised 00:07:14.560 --> 00:07:15.280 from the
