00:01:09.299 He's looking not at just others around him. 00:01:09.340 --> 00:01:14.620 He's looking within himself and looking and seeing the faults within his own heart. 00:01:14.840 --> 00:01:16.960 God when the going gets tough, as it were? 00:02:26.460 --> 00:02:31.280 So we are to be faithful and close to God at all times. 00:02:31.280 --> 00:02:37.580 As I mentioned as well, this psalm, it's not just a psalm about David. 00:02:38.319 --> 00:02:40.699 It's not just a psalm about his suffering. 00:02:41.300 --> 00:02:45.319 It's a psalm that points us forward to the New Testament 00:02:45.319 --> 00:02:51.080 and always pointing us to the Lord Jesus Christ and his suffering. 00:02:52.340 --> 00:02:56.139 And it's something we want to further reflect on this evening, 00:02:56.139 --> 00:03:02.359 the suffering of Jesus in the midst of the suffering of David as well. 00:03:02.679 --> 00:03:07.679 And especially as we think of approaching a communion weekend in just over a week, 00:03:08.359 --> 00:03:13.359 we want to always be preparing our hearts as we come to worship God. 00:03:13.419 --> 00:03:19.560 But especially at a time of communion when we are focused remembering his death in that particular way 00:03:28.900 --> 00:03:31.840 as we take the bread and take the wine. 00:03:33.299 --> 00:03:38.240 This psalm is a prayer, a prayer that David is offering God calming him. 00:04:23.899 --> 00:04:25.240 God reassuring him. 00:04:25.740 --> 00:04:26.939 God comforting him. 00:04:27.060 --> 00:04:30.899 And eventually, as we'll see, he comes praising God. 00:04:30.899 --> 00:04:34.319 And that's really what prayer does. 00:04:34.979 --> 00:04:39.539 Even when we feel distracted, even when we think we're disorganized so much, 00:04:39.979 -->
