power. 00:06:00.180 --> 00:06:02.519 Here is Jesus standing before the man 00:06:02.519 --> 00:06:04.259 who represents the might of Rome, 00:06:04.339 --> 00:06:05.519 the greatest empire, 00:06:05.620 --> 00:06:08.000 the most powerful empire to date. 00:06:08.899 --> 00:06:10.079 And at a human level, 00:06:10.079 --> 00:06:12.319 it might seem something of a mismatch. 00:06:13.180 --> 00:06:14.039 Here is Jesus, 00:06:14.180 --> 00:06:16.539 this man who has no wealth or status. 00:06:16.759 --> 00:06:20.019 He has no position or power within society. 00:06:20.539 --> 00:06:23.120 He has very little recognition or honor 00:06:23.120 --> 00:06:26.120 beyond a very small circle of followers. 00:06:27.199 --> 00:06:27.519 But yet, 00:06:27.519 --> 00:06:29.000 as we come today, 00:06:29.139 --> 00:06:30.759 2,000 or so years later, 00:06:30.759 --> 00:06:34.419 we recognize that the empire of Rome is gone. 00:06:34.420 --> 00:06:36.319 It's of interest to historians, 00:06:36.500 --> 00:06:37.340 but nobody else. 00:06:38.040 --> 00:06:39.400 But the kingdom of Jesus 00:06:39.400 --> 00:06:42.439 is one that grows and continues to grow. 00:06:42.699 --> 00:06:44.960 And that billions of people since this moment 00:06:44.960 --> 00:06:46.300 have come to worship him. 00:06:47.340 --> 00:06:50.180 So we can learn some really interesting things 00:07:33.280 is he a threat to Caesar 00:07:33.280 --> 00:07:34.800 and the authority of Rome? 00:07:35.579 --> 00:07:38.300 Is this another freedom fighter Messiah 00:07:38.300 --> 00:07:40.259 that they are going to need to send troops 00:07:40.259 --> 00:07:41.459 to crack down on? 00:07:42.879 --> 00:07:44.860 How does Jesus answer the question, 00:07:45.259 --> 00:07:46.019 are you a king? 00:07:48.860 --> 00:07:50.100 In a sense, he says, 00:07:50.199 --> 00:07:51.220 well, yes, I am. 00:07:51.220 --> 00:07:53.440 But another way, 00:07:54.020 --> 00:07:54.680 no, I'm not, 00:07:54.720 --> 00:07:56.180 or at least not the way you think. 00:07:56.500 --> 00:07:57.300 Verse 36, 00:07:57.420 --> 00:08:00.280 my kingdom is not of this world. 00:08:00.400 --> 00:08:01.020 If it were,
