00:02:53.660 --> 00:02:57.020 we're not under the law anymore because Christ fulfilled the law on our behalf. 00:02:57.020 --> 00:03:01.980 So we are not legally bound to it in a sense that we're going to be punished according to the law. 00:03:01.979 --> 00:03:06.519 However, that doesn't mean that what the Corinthians are trying to make it mean, 00:03:06.579 --> 00:03:09.739 was that all things are lawful for me and you can live however you wish. 00:03:10.199 --> 00:03:13.099 And so Paul sharply qualifies their slogan in verse 12 00:03:13.099 --> 00:03:16.599 by adding his own kind of 00:11:37.139 The body is not meant for sexual immorality, 00:11:37.240 --> 00:11:38.279 but for the Lord, 00:11:38.679 --> 00:11:40.360 and the Lord for the body. 00:11:40.779 --> 00:11:42.340 And God need to fret 00:12:09.019 --> 00:12:10.139 about what you're eating, 00:12:10.299 --> 00:12:12.519 whether some kind of foods are clean or unclean, 00:12:12.600 --> 00:12:13.259 ritually speaking, 00:12:13.259 --> 00:12:14.659 whether it's appropriate for you to eat, 00:12:14.720 --> 00:12:15.819 or inappropriate for you to eat it. 00:12:16.240 --> 00:12:17.939 And note that Paul doesn't dispute this fact, 00:12:18.000 --> 00:12:19.779 he agrees with the Corinthian slogan at this point, 00:12:19.840 --> 00:12:21.500 yes, the food is meant for the stomach, 00:12:21.559 --> 00:12:22.379 and the stomach for food. 00:12:23.659 --> 00:12:25.139 But their ultimate fate, 00:12:25.179 --> 00:12:26.899 ultimate fate for both the stomach and food, 00:12:27.019 --> 00:12:29.620 is God will destroy both one and the other. 00:12:30.639 --> 00:12:32.179 So food and the stomach 00:12:32.179 --> 00:12:35.860 are intended for our sustenance in this life, 00:12:36.039 --> 00:12:36.980 here and
