with Joel's generation of God's people. 00:05:53.439 --> 00:05:55.360 Look at verse 17 of chapter 2. 00:05:56.939 --> 00:06:00.360 The nations, the people around about their neighbours, 00:06:00.480 --> 00:06:02.879 as they look at this generation of God's people 00:06:02.879 --> 00:06:05.120 and everything that's going on in Judah, 00:06:05.680 --> 00:06:08.319 here is what either they conclude or they will conclude. 00:06:09.340 --> 00:06:10.300 There is a God. 00:06:10.439 --> 00:06:11.000 No, no, no. 00:06:11.480 --> 00:06:12.379 Where is their God? 00:06:12.379 --> 00:06:15.259 Now, why my rescued people, 00:06:36.360 --> 00:06:37.259 my ransomed people. 00:06:38.379 --> 00:06:41.000 And secondly, as a result of what they are, 00:06:41.000 --> 00:06:43.459 because of their blatant disregard for the Lord, 00:06:43.519 --> 00:06:44.980 because of what they are experiencing. 00:06:46.500 --> 00:06:49.899 That's where we need to tap into our Bible story here. 00:06:49.980 --> 00:06:52.160 Remember, this is God's people. 00:06:52.240 --> 00:06:54.160 This people that he'd set his heart upon, 00:06:54.699 --> 00:06:56.480 he'd rescued from Egypt, 00:06:56.800 --> 00:06:58.540 he'd brought them to Mount Sinai 00:06:58.540 --> 00:06:59.639 under the leadership of Moses, 00:06:59.759 --> 00:07:01.120 and he'd made a covenant with them. 00:07:01.899 --> 00:07:04.920 This binding promise sealed with the strapline 00:07:04.920 --> 00:07:07.920 that I will be your God and you will be my people. 00:07:07.920 --> 00:07:11.740 And it was to be a relationship filled with mutual delight 00:07:11.740 --> 00:07:15.420 as they delighted in God and God delighted in them. 00:07:15.960 --> 00:07:21.140 And together, they showcased to the world God's glory. 00:07:21.780 --> 00:07:23.360 And the nations would look in 00:07:23.360 --> 00:07:25.980 and they would declare that truly Israel's God 00:07:25.980 --> 00:07:27.639 is the God of all gods.
