situation which we find ourselves here in Malachi, 00:07:01.600 --> 00:07:02.700 the first few chapters, 00:07:03.180 --> 00:07:07.780 where the Israelites have reached a stage 00:07:07.780 --> 00:07:10.020 where they have grown weary of serving God. 00:07:10.019 --> 00:07:12.620 And as a result, 00:07:12.799 --> 00:07:15.579 they bring dishonor and disrespect to, 00:07:15.799 --> 00:07:16.120 as it says, 00:07:16.159 --> 00:07:17.339 the table of the Lord. 00:07:20.139 --> 00:07:21.659 And as Alfie said before, 00:07:21.879 --> 00:07:23.779 you can understand it. 00:07:24.479 --> 00:07:26.579 Because it had been some time 00:07:26.579 --> 00:07:27.560 since they had seen 00:07:27.560 --> 00:07:29.719 kind of the great and marvelous works of God. 00:07:29.720 --> 00:07:33.180 And when they came back, 00:07:33.500 --> 00:07:36.420 so these Israelites have been away from the land in exile, 00:07:37.260 --> 00:07:38.740 punished by God for their disobedience, tells us that 00:10:02.659 --> 00:10:05.580 they actually wanted acceptance from God. 00:10:06.200 --> 00:10:07.399 They wanted to gain His favor. 00:10:07.399 --> 00:10:11.199 And so they keep doing
