book of Judges, and we're going to see it this morning, warns us against worldliness, 00:03:53.520 --> 00:04:01.320 and it woos us to God's Savior and who he's raised up, and he's better than them characteristics, but there's a difference 00:04:50.219 --> 00:04:51.659 with this assassin. 00:04:53.079 --> 00:04:57.099 And then I'm going to answer the question, what does this mean for us today? Judges chapter 3, verses 7 through 11. 00:05:12.620 --> 00:05:13.299 Hear God's word. 00:05:14.079 --> 00:05:17.239 And the people of Israel did what was evil in the sight of the Lord. 00:05:18.039 --> 00:05:21.719 They forgot the Lord, their God, and served the Baals and the Ashereth. 00:05:22.620 --> 00:05:26.620 Therefore, the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel, and he sold them into the hand 00:05:26.620 --> 00:05:29.740 of Cushion Rishatham, king of Mesopotamia. 00:05:30.419 --> 00:05:34.079 And the people of Israel served Cushion Rishatham eight years. 00:05:34.079 --> 00:05:38.459 But when the people of Israel cried out to the Lord, the Lord raised up a deliverer for 00:05:38.459 --> 00:05:40.939 the people of Israel who saved them. 00:05:41.379 --> 00:05:43.819 00:07:44.139 And the second part of this evil is cultural accommodation. 00:07:44.139 --> 00:07:51.539 And so, when God ceases to be the controlling center of your life, something else will. verse 15 is that, yes, God raises up Ehud. 00:21:51.619 --> 00:22:04.039 But if you move forward to verses 27 through 30, it's later on that we learn that God rescues his people from Moab.
