think there are two reasons that we're given. 00:05:09.439 --> 00:05:10.540 Here's the first one. 00:05:11.960 --> 00:05:14.200 Sin is more serious than we thought. 00:05:15.200 --> 00:05:16.460 Look back at verse 11. 00:05:16.459 --> 00:05:21.519 Now, the earth was corrupt in God's sight 00:05:21.519 --> 00:05:23.039 and was full of violence. 00:05:24.000 --> 00:05:26.259 And God saw how corrupt the earth had become. 00:05:26.519 --> 00:05:29.659 For all the people on earth had corrupted their ways. 00:05:31.019 --> 00:05:32.579 Remember, at the beginning of creation, 00:05:33.279 --> 00:05:36.159 the world was full of God's glory. 00:05:36.519 --> 00:05:39.459 Now the world was full of man's corruption. 00:05:40.519 --> 00:05:43.159 Instead of displaying God's beauty, 00:05:43.160 --> 00:05:47.400 humanity is now displaying their brokenness. 00:05:48.360 --> 00:05:52.000 And God looks and he sees all the destruction and disorder 00:05:52.000 --> 00:05:56.180 and he responds Or think back to 2004. 00:06:35.800 --> 00:06:38.180 Remember the tsunami in Southeast Asia 00:06:38.180 --> 00:06:42.439 where 20 metre waves came travelling in 00:06:42.439 --> 00:06:44.500 three kilometres inland, 00:06:45.720 --> 00:06:48.680 swamping whole towns and communities. 00:06:50.079 --> 00:06:54.220 230,000 people died as a result of those floods. 00:06:54.939 --> 00:06:57.819 How can God say to Noah, 00:06:58.220 --> 00:07:01.220 I am going to put an end to all peoples? 00:07:01.220 --> 00:07:05.440 To our minds and to our senses, 00:07:05.820 --> 00:07:07.940 it's incomprehensible. 00:07:11.480 --> 00:07:14.360 Well, God's response reveals to us 00:07:14.360 --> 00:07:18.100 just how serious sin is. 00:07:19.020 --> 00:07:19.960 God is saying, 00:07:20.100 -->
