leaving a perfectly healthy church to plant a new church, 00:06:53.300 --> 00:06:55.439 like the Grove Launch Team is doing, 00:06:56.819 --> 00:07:03.139 Psalm 46 reminds us that we are not alone and Now with our minds on the weight of anxiety that presses down on so many of us, 00:07:15.379 --> 00:07:18.319 we turn to the words of Psalm 46. 00:07:19.739 --> 00:07:24.279 The sermon is going to be have Psalm 46, 1 through 3. 00:07:31.219 --> 00:07:35.500 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. 00:07:35.500 --> 00:07:40.100 Therefore, we will not fear through the earth gives way, 00:07:40.899 --> 00:07:43.139 though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, 00:07:43.339 --> 00:07:48.980 though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling. 00:07:50.500 --> 00:07:53.279 Psalm 46 begins with an affirmation. 00:07:54.079 --> 00:07:57.439 It says, God is our refuge and strength. 00:07:59.040 --> 00:08:02.879 Our refuge or our refuge is a place of safety, 00:08:02.879 --> 00:08:06.300 where people flee when danger threatens. 00:08:07.699 --> 00:08:12.019 It is a place of security where the enemies of our world, 00:08:12.139 --> 00:08:16.839 the enemies of Christ, of the way we believe and think and feel, 00:08:16.899 --> 00:08:19.199 they cannot reach us. 00:08:21.439 --> 00:08:23.699 Anxiety in your mind cannot be reached either. 00:08:24.659 --> 00:08:30.800 The psalmist used this imagery to convey that God is the place of safety for His people. 00:08:30.800 --> 00:08:34.759 When life's storm rages, 00:08:35.460 --> 00:08:38.639 when the pressures of the world become too much to bear, 00:08:39.340 --> 00:08:40.340 God is our refuge. 00:08:41.120 --> 00:08:42.860 He is the one we can run to,
