claims. 00:03:06.460 --> 00:03:09.099 It claims that there is a God who made the universe. 00:03:09.099 --> 00:03:15.699 It claims that this God sent his son into the world to die on a cross for humanity. 00:03:16.759 --> 00:03:22.659 It claims that Jesus, the son of God, performed miracles, that he was raised from the dead, 00:03:22.919 --> 00:03:29.259 and he is now present with his followers by the Holy Spirit through his word right now. 00:03:29.259 --> 00:03:36.060 It claims that he will come back to this earth one day as the universal judge and king, 00:03:36.239 --> 00:03:40.079 wind up history, right every wrong that has ever happened, 00:03:40.259 --> 00:03:44.379 and with his people exist forever in eternal bliss. 00:03:45.519 --> 00:03:47.180 They're extraordinary claims. 00:03:48.599 --> 00:03:49.840 Extraordinary claims. 00:03:50.659 --> 00:03:53.539 And we need some pretty serious evidence to believe them. 00:03:53.539 --> 00:04:02.079 And yet, on the other hand, billions of people over time have believed these claims, 00:04:02.299 --> 00:04:09.099 including some of the smartest people in our world to this day. 00:04:10.979 --> 00:04:13.299 point's got, well, the first two have got three sub-points, 00:04:41.740 --> 00:04:49.160 but to build on last week's assertion that the Bible is true, 00:04:49.920 --> 00:04:54.280 and it is reliable for everything in life and faith. 00:04:54.860 --> 00:04:59.160 And the three points are, it's historically reliable, culturally reliable, 00:04:59.160 --> 00:05:00.740 and it's personally reliable. 00:06:44.360 just as they were handed down to us 00:06:44.360 --> 00:06:48.240 by those who from the first were eyewitnesses. 00:06:48.840 --> 00:06:52.520 I myself have carefully investigated verse 6 00:07:40.980 --> 00:07:42.360 about the resurrection of Jesus. 00:07:42.360 --> 00:07:44.759 He appeared to more than 500 00:07:44.759 --> 00:07:46.100 of the brothers and sisters 00:07:46.100 --> 00:07:47.420 at the same time, 00:07:47.920 --> 00:07:49.759 most of whom are still 00:07:49.759 --> 00:07:51.199 living. 00:07:53.439 --> 00:07:55.519 Paul could not have possibly written 00:08:39.680 --> 00:08:40.759 of the early church, 00:08:41.279 --> 00:08:43.740 Christians have been worshipping Jesus 00:08:43.740 --> 00:08:45.320 as God himself 00:08:45.320 --> 00:08:46.860 from
