presidential election around the world is always a referendum on the future. 00:02:03.159 --> 00:02:11.400 Now what Psalm 146 tells us is that that is not true. 00:02:12.939 --> 00:02:22.680 That governments, politicians, the people, even ourselves, none of us hold the future. 00:02:24.280 --> 00:02:25.039 God does. 00:02:26.759 --> 00:02:30.099 Certainly elections and governments are 00:11:20.779 he healed the blind. 00:11:21.500 --> 00:11:27.620 All these were pictures of the great salvation that Jesus accomplished for us 00:11:27.620 --> 00:11:30.779 by his death and resurrection and ascension. 00:11:30.779 --> 00:11:35.000 One thing we always need to remember is that no politician, 00:11:36.000 --> 00:11:37.799 no mere mortal man, 00:11:37.919 --> 00:11:39.079 no one we look up to, 00:11:39.159 --> 00:11:40.019 no one we admire, 00:11:40.819 --> 00:11:44.379 can do what we most fundamentally need. 00:11:45.379 --> 00:11:48.439 Our greatest need is salvation, 00:11:49.159 --> 00:11:52.740 because our greatest problem is our sin. 00:11:52.740 --> 00:11:59.080 And that's why we put our ultimate hope and trust in Christ, 00:11:59.159 --> 00:12:02.039 because
