think that either that there are no answers or that the answers are easy to find. 00:00:50.700 --> 00:00:58.420 Having studied scriptures a lot over the last 37 years, I was surprised to find out that the scriptures give 00:00:58.420 --> 00:01:02.440 us eight different answers to the problem of suffering. 00:01:03.079 --> 00:01:05.400 I will not go through all eight of them. 00:01:06.079 --> 00:01:07.460 Not today, at least. 00:01:07.620 --> 00:01:08.400 Maybe another day. 00:01:08.400 --> 00:01:16.300 But I do want us to look at three issues in relationship to suffering and persecution. Deuteronomy, Deuteronomy 27, 28, blessings and curses. 00:04:15.420 --> 00:04:19.899 If Israel, if God's people are faithful to him, he blesses them. 00:04:20.379 --> 00:04:28.100 If God's people are not faithful to him, he punishes them and he rebukes them and deals with them sternly. 00:04:28.100 --> 00:04:32.379 So, that is the first answer to why do we go through suffering. 00:04:32.700 --> thing and I am evoking opposition or resistance from the ungodly. 00:05:15.920 --> 00:05:19.540 It is not that God is punishing me because I have sinned. 00:05:19.540 --> 00:05:21.300 It is the opposite. 00:05:21.680 --> 00:05:29.160 I am faithful to God and therefore God approves of me. 00:05:29.300 --> 00:05:34.480 But there is opposition in the world and I face the opposition of being that six million Jews were killed? 00:09:01.539 --> 00:09:08.439 What if German law said it's okay to kill Jews? 00:09:09.199 --> 00:09:13.199 If that is legal in Germany, does it make it right?
