church planter. 00:10:11.879 --> 00:10:12.799 He was an evangelist. 00:10:12.879 --> 00:10:16.899 He went everywhere throughout the Roman Empire sharing the gospel. 00:10:17.639 --> 00:10:20.699 Many of you may not know that Paul was also a fundraiser. 00:10:21.799 --> 00:10:22.279 That actually, 00:10:22.539 --> 00:10:27.099 one thing that Paul saw was actually the gospel in a world that was divided 00:10:27.099 --> 00:10:29.899 between Jews and Gentiles on one side, 00:10:29.959 --> 00:10:31.000 the rich and the poor. 00:10:31.219 --> 00:10:33.179 They would never hang out with each other. 00:10:33.179 --> 00:10:34.620 That there were these divisions, 00:10:34.879 --> 00:10:36.139 just like in our society, 00:10:36.500 --> 00:10:40.179 there were divisions that classified people in different categories. 00:10:41.199 --> 00:10:44.659 And what Paul saw was when Jesus died on the cross, 00:10:44.699 --> 00:10:45.259 what He did, 00:10:45.339 --> 00:10:46.799 He broke down the barriers, 00:10:47.059 --> 00:10:50.120 and He brought together a new community made up of every race, 00:10:50.219 --> 00:10:50.779 every tribe, 00:10:50.899 --> 00:10:52.639 every social economic group. 00:10:53.579 --> 00:10:55.599 And as he went around proclaiming this, 00:10:56.039 --> 00:10:59.699 he was convinced that this wasn't just a theoretical message. 00:11:00.319 --> 00:11:02.039 That as new churches started, 00:11:02.039 --> 00:11:04.719 he also saw that in Jerusalem, 00:11:05.360 --> 00:11:08.139 there was a Jewish church which was poor. 00:11:09.159 --> 00:11:12.179 And then around as he went into the Greek-speaking areas, 00:11:12.240 --> 00:11:13.819 and he came to places like Corinth, 00:11:14.579 --> 00:11:16.919 he realized it was a wealthier place, 00:11:17.419 --> 00:11:19.419 filled with non-Jews. 00:11:20.360 --> 00:11:21.439 And for him, 00:11:21.519 --> 00:11:22.500 as he went around, 00:11:22.579 --> 00:11:23.659 and he saw that actually, 00:11:23.919 --> 00:11:26.839 the church in Corinth had a little bit more cash going 00:11:26.840 --> 00:11:29.379 than the church in Jerusalem. 00:11:29.379 --> 00:11:31.379 And he was convinced, 00:11:31.800 --> 00:11:32.180 in fact, 00:11:32.240 --> 00:11:33.860 he gave his whole life 00:11:33.860 --> 00:11:35.540 to show that actually, 00:11:35.639 --> 00:11:38.720 the grace of God doesn't just bring you 00:12:18.400 --> 00:12:19.640 to give 00:12:19.640 --> 00:12:21.120 to this project 00:12:21.120 --> 00:12:24.060 to people that they've never met. 00:12:25.020 --> 00:12:26.160 To people that they'll actually 00:12:26.160 --> 00:12:28.680 probably get no immediate benefit from. 00:12:29.160 --> 00:12:31.040 They're from a different ethnic background. 00:12:32.140 --> 00:12:34.500 It's nothing that
