He had no freedom to pray. That had been denied. 00:02:26.580 --> 00:02:29.900 He had no temple to worship. that the desolation of Jerusalem would last 70 years. 00:04:40.720 --> 00:04:48.400 Isn't it interesting that as Daniel feels the pain and pressure of being away from home, 00:04:49.920 --> being so excited because now it's almost 70 years 00:07:14.759 --> 00:07:19.120 since Daniel and God's people have been taken into exile. 00:07:19.519 --> 00:07:23.500 His longing to go home is about to become a reality. 00:07:24.600 --> 00:07:28.819 God had made this promise all those years ago to restore his people, 00:07:29.339 --> 00:07:33.939 and Daniel has been reminded of it as he has read 00:07:45.379 --> 00:07:50.560 So I turned to the Lord God and pleaded with him in prayer and petition, 00:07:50.759 --> 00:07:54.159 in fasting, in sackcloth and ashes. 00:07:55.439 --> 00:08:01.339 The promise of God has motivated Daniel to ask God 00:08:01.339 --> 00:08:04.819 to fulfil the promise that he has made. 00:08:05.459 --> 00:08:08.819 God's word causes Daniel to start praying 00:08:08.819 --> 00:08:13.979 for the very thing that God has planned and purposed to do. 00:08:16.299 --> 00:08:19.000 So this promise is found in God's word, 00:08:19.579 --> 00:08:24.579 but it is also found, or also rests, in the character of God. 00:08:24.659 --> 00:08:25.500 Look at verse 4. 00:08:25.500 --> 00:08:29.319 I prayed to the Lord my God and confessed, 00:08:29.660 -->
