00:04:45.579 Usually, the Jews had three times of prayer. 00:04:45.579 --> 00:04:49.560 As was their custom, it would be a 9 a.m. 00:04:49.560 --> 00:04:53.959 morning prayer, a 12 noon prayer, and then a 3 p.m. 00:04:54.240 --> 00:05:00.360 prayer, known as evening prayer, because the sun usually set around 6. 00:05:00.360 --> 00:05:08.740 And what's interesting here is that Peter and John are still continuing to pray at the temple. 00:05:09.379 --> 00:05:10.860 Still continuing to pray. 00:05:11.720 --> 00:05:15.699 They probably didn't go to the sacrifice, which was before the evening prayer, 00:05:15.920 --> 00:05:22.080 because they believed that Jesus was and is the ultimate sacrifice for them. 00:05:22.079 --> 00:05:33.319 But we see here that John and Peter, they continue the spiritual discipline of prayer and being at the temple and being with the people. 00:05:34.180 --> 00:05:37.379 The next thing we see is the place. 00:05:37.939 --> 00:05:41.099 They're at the temple gate, and it's called beautiful. 00:05:41.399 --> 00:05:42.439 Why is it called beautiful? 00:05:42.439 --> 00:05:53.579 Well, Josephus said that this gate was made of Corinthian brass, 75 feet high,
