is assuming this when he says this statement. 00:08:27.939 --> 00:08:29.759 How do we know this is true? 00:08:31.159 --> 00:08:32.639 Well, we've read about it. 00:08:32.639 --> 00:08:36.279 The gospel Luke tells us that this is what happened. 00:08:36.679 --> 00:08:38.519 The disciples showed up at the tomb. 00:08:39.100 --> 00:08:40.399 And there was an angel saying, 00:08:40.620 --> 00:08:43.779 Why do you seek the living among the dead? 00:08:44.439 --> 00:08:45.860 He is not here. 00:08:46.319 --> 00:08:49.000 He is risen just as he said. 00:08:49.759 --> 00:08:55.039 This is the most fundamental truth claim of the Christian faith. 00:08:55.039 --> 00:08:58.759 Is that Jesus in real space time history, 00:08:58.759 --> 00:09:06.259 His actual literal physical body was dead and was brought again to life. 00:09:07.759 --> 00:09:11.879 And that not only did he rise to that new life, 00:09:11.980 --> 00:09:16.600 But then he walked out of the tomb after God had rolled the stone away. 00:09:16.600 --> 00:09:26.019 And he appeared to many people while he lived on this earth in physical bodies where people could touch him and see him and hear him and eat with him. 00:09:29.480 --> 00:09:31.240 And then he ascended into heaven. 00:09:32.920 --> 00:09:34.980 Not as a spirit, but as a body. 00:09:34.980 --> 00:09:38.980 A real resurrected body. 00:09:40.180 --> 00:09:44.240 And Christians claim that this makes all the difference. 00:09:45.060 --> 00:09:50.960 Because if he had simply died and gone to his grave like every other human being, 00:09:51.580 -->
