[0:00] Does anybody need a sheet? Christ will judge. You have one. You should have one.
[0:10] Christ will judge. If you need one, Angela has some in the back. Okay. I guess we're all set. Okay. So we were talking about that, the fact that Christ will judge.
[0:24] We talked about the fact that he's going to have judgment during the tribulation. We talked about the fact that while we're in heaven, the judgment seat of Christ receiving our rewards, there will be tribulation taking place down here upon the earth.
[0:40] God will be pouring out his wrath on the earth here and mankind for the things that they have neglected to do in following Christ and trying to fight against what God had for them.
[0:55] We talked about Daniel's 70th week and the fact that the tribulation will take place basically after we're raptured out and then the Antichrist will sign a peace treaty with Israel.
[1:14] And after that peace treaty is signed, things will start happening. And all of the goal for mankind to see and hopefully repent, but also to put Israel back in their proper place of being God's nation.
[1:31] We talked about the fact that there's going to be different judgments that are going to take place during that time. We talked about seal judgments. And the seal judgments, as he opens those seals, Christ has given title deed to the earth.
[1:47] And as he breaks the seals that hold that deed, different judgments are going to unfold. And as it happens, those seals will be broken, which are going to reveal seven trumpets.
[2:01] And when the last trumpet sounds, it's going to reveal seven vials or seven bowls, as a lot of them refer to. The seals, when he breaks them, are going to include the coming of the Antichrist, worldwide famine, severe famine, worldwide war, widespread death by war, hunger, wild animals, martyrdom of believers, and cosmic disturbances.
[2:27] Things are going to take place in the heavens. As I said, when he breaks that seventh seal, then there's going to be trumpets that will start to sound. And there'll be four trumpets.
[2:39] The first four of those will result in hail and fire striking a third of the vegetation. A third of the sea will become blood. A third of the rivers will become poisonous. And a third of the heavens will be darkened.
[2:50] And then trumpets five through seven are called the three woes. And with those, we have different insects and creatures tormenting the lost for five months.
[3:03] The destruction of a third of mankind by a demon-led army. And finally, the transfer of the nations to Christ's rule. And they'll be transferring over to Jesus being the judge.
[3:17] The bowls, we talked about those bowls and different things that they're going to do. And everything that takes place during this time, in chapter 16, you don't have to turn there, chapter 16, verse 7, talks about it being true and righteous.
[3:32] Everything that's happening is going to be something that mankind should face. Because mankind should be taking those judgments because of their rejection of Christ and what he has done.
[3:48] What's the response to those judgments? Well, obviously, there's going to be two kinds of responses. There's the response of some are going to harden their heart and reject God. Some will trust Christ as Savior as they go through these things.
[4:04] And during the first half of the tribulation, God's going to send two unidentified witnesses to Jerusalem. They're going to preach there.
[4:15] They're going to teach there. They're going to proclaim judgments there. And then you know that the first half of the tribulation, they're going to be killed.
[4:26] They're going to rise again and then be taken back up into heaven. He also has 144,000 Jews who are going to be witnesses for him throughout the earth.
[4:37] That's in Revelation chapter 7. And they are going to teach the world about who Jesus is in the midst of the tribulation. And it says what will be the results of their witness?
[4:52] This is multitudes of people from every nation will put their faith in Jesus Christ. So there's a whole lot of things taking place in that first part of the tribulation and continuing on until Christ sets his foot back here on earth.
[5:07] All of them done for the purpose of judgment, but also on the purpose of trying to draw people still. God still, he's showing his wrath, but he's still showing mercy.
[5:20] And the fact that there is opportunity for people to come to know him as Savior. Number two, which is where we left off last week. Number two, Christ's final judgment of the lost.
[5:31] His final judgment of the lost and the timing of that judgment. Judgment of the lost and the timing of that judgment. Let's have a word of prayer. Father, I pray that you would help us today as we continue on.
[5:45] Lord, to understand a little more about what's going to happen during the tribulation time. Lord, a little more about what's going to happen in the end of times. And Lord, I pray that you would help us to be taken with the fact that you give us this information to help us to be aware of what's going to happen so that we will be more aware of our concern for the lost.
[6:08] Lord, that we would have a heart for them. Have a heart to see them saved, Lord, because we know what is coming. We know that Christ is coming again. We know what's going to happen after he returns.
[6:20] And Lord, I pray that you would give us a heart for salvation for those that are lost. We pray this in Jesus' name. Amen. Tribulation will end when Jesus Christ returns and set his foot here on earth.
[6:36] The first time he comes, remember, he's not going to touch the earth. He's going to come and we're going to meet him in the air in the rapture. The second time he comes, could be any minute.
[6:50] The second time he comes, it'll be to establish his kingdom here on earth. And when he does that, some different things are going to happen.
[7:03] Revelation 19, verse 15. You're there in 19. It says, And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations, and he shall rule them with a rod of iron.
[7:16] And he treadeth the wind paths of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. There's going to be a whole lot of judgment and a whole lot of ending of life when he comes back because of those going up against him.
[7:30] And not only that, but look at chapter 20, beginning of verse 1. And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit, and a great chain in his hand.
[7:43] And he laid hold on the dragon, the old serpent, which is the devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, and cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years should be fulfilled.
[8:01] And after that, he must be loosed for his season. So, Christ is going to come, set his foot on the earth, set up kingdom, Satan and all of his will be sent to the bottomless pit.
[8:16] And then, look at verse 4 of chapter 20. And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given unto them. And I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus and for the word of God.
[8:31] And they were not worshipped the beast, neither the image, neither the receive the mark of their foreheads or in their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. He is going to set up his kingdom and be ready to rule for a thousand years over those who are still here on the earth.
[8:48] During that time, there will be people born. Life will go kind of like we know, sort of, except that Christ is now ruling, and he's in charge.
[9:01] But people will come and go, and not go, people will come and be born. And at the end of that thousand years, the end of Christ's rule, he's going to set Satan free again.
[9:13] Look at verse 7. And when the thousand years had expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, and it shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, and gather them together to battle, the number of whom is out of the sand of the sea.
[9:33] So Satan's going to get one more shot. After people who have been with Christ a thousand years under his rule, Satan's going to get one more chance to try to deceive.
[9:46] Look at verse 9 and 10. And they went up on the breadth of the earth, encompassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city. And fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them.
[9:59] And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and they shall be tormented day and night forever and ever.
[10:09] So Satan's going to have some influence. There are going to be people who will follow him, even though they have been under the rule of Christ for a thousand years. And we think in our minds, how can they do that?
[10:22] But again, go back to what I talked about this morning, the 12. Judas. He was under Christ's teaching for three years.
[10:33] Followed him, saw the miracles, heard the preaching, heard everything, and still went his own way. Adam and Eve in the garden. Yep.
[10:44] You know the old saying people have today, you have one job. Adam and Eve. One job. Don't eat of that tree. That's it. Anything else you want to do, it's fine.
[10:57] Just don't eat of that tree. And what did they do? So the fact that, you know, Christ has been in charge for a thousand years, people given their own free will to do whatever they want, there's still going to be those who will follow and go the wrong way.
[11:13] Sure. Sure. If this child, you know, it doesn't have to be.
[11:28] But I think about those verses that say that, you know, there's no pain, no suffering, no sorrow. So they all come at the very end. So I'm not sure about this time or not.
[11:39] But he's raining. But it says he rains with a rod of iron. So it may not be willful complacency.
[11:53] That's the word we're on, complacency. It'll be, this will be the way it's going to be. Afterwards, it'll be, we want to follow you.
[12:03] We want to serve you. We want to. But at that time, it may not be completely willful. Yep. So. All right. And it says. At the end of that, when the devil's, you know, the burning and the fire and brimstone and everything come there in verses 9 and 10.
[12:25] Look at verse 12. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God. And the books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the book of life.
[12:36] And the dead were judged out of those things that were written in the books according to their works. Notice where verse 11. Was it verse 11? Yeah, verse 11. I saw a great white throne.
[12:48] This is known as a great white throne judgment. So God is there judging those who have not accepted Christ as Savior. He's there, and he says they're going to be judged out of the books.
[13:03] Now, the books are there, I believe, to show the things that we've done right and wrong. But the bigger problem is not the fact that what's written in the books, but what's written in the book of life.
[13:17] Is your name in the book of life? Then it doesn't matter what's written in the books. Because if your name's not in the book of life, you have already given Christ all he needs to know how the judgment should go, because your name is not there.
[13:37] No one's going to stand before the great white throne judgment whose name was written in the book of life. We've already been through the judgment. We've already been through the judgment seat of Christ.
[13:47] We've already received our rewards. Because our name was in the book of life. So now he's got the group in front of him whose names are not there. And so comes the judgment for them.
[14:00] So what is the judgment for them? Let there be descriptions of the judgment. Descriptions. The Bible gives details about the torments of the lake of fire.
[14:11] Nothing on earth can compare to what happens at that lake of fire. Look with me.
[14:21] Hold your finger there. In Revelation 20. And go with me to 1 Thessalonians 1. 1 Thessalonians 1.
[14:31] In verse 9. 1 Thessalonians 1. 9. For they themselves show of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned it to God from idols to serve the living and true God.
[14:50] No, 2 Thessalonians. That's... Yep. 2 Thessalonians. That didn't sound right. 2 Thessalonians 1. 9. Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power.
[15:08] Now think about this for a second. This is what he's saying here. He's saying those who are unsaved, those who do not follow Christ, those who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power.
[15:24] Why is being cut off from the presence of the Lord forever such a terrible state? What is it about that that makes it so terrible?
[15:38] Hmm? You're alone. You're alone. Okay. You have no hope because of a true death of the Lord. You cannot be lost. There is absolutely no hope whatsoever.
[15:51] You think about this life. This happens to me, but I still have hope about this. This thing takes place, I still have hope. I still have hope.
[16:03] At this point, there is absolutely no hope whatsoever. Nobody can pray you out of there. Nobody can lead you out of there.
[16:14] Nothing. What? Catholics. Oh, yes. You're not in purgatory. You have no hope. So think about that.
[16:26] You can beg for deliverance. You can plead for the deliverance. You can do it. There is no hope. There is no hope at this point. That is the problem. Some people are in purgatory. Some people are in purgatory. They don't go down a lot of this.
[16:38] You don't give them second chance. He's giving you second, third, fourth, fifth, hundredth. Yep. I know what they'll say, but you've had the chances. The fact that you're asking that question and I'm able to answer you about that question, that's a chance.
[16:55] What are you going to do with it? They wouldn't look at it that way, but hopefully we can explain it to them that way. You know, God's not going to be present where the lake of fire is.
[17:10] God's not going to be present in hell. And so there is no hope whatsoever. Back to chapter 20, Revelation chapter 20. Look at verse 10.
[17:23] Revelation 20, verse 10. And the devil that deceiveth them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night forever and ever.
[17:38] What do you learn about the lake of fire from that? Torment, day and night, forever and ever. It's the real eternal flame.
[17:50] Yes, good point. No, there is no hope whatsoever. This is the final outcome. Go back to chapter 14. Chapter 14, verse 11.
[18:05] Chapter 14, verse 11. It says, And smoke of their torment ascended up forever and ever, and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
[18:25] What relief do you have in the lake of fire? He says, They have no rest day nor night. No rest day or night.
[18:38] So, there are those, you've heard them, Oh, when I go to hell, I like a fire. Oh, exactly. We're going to have a big party. Me and all my buddies, we're used to having a party, and we're going to do this, and we're going to do that.
[18:51] We're going to have this great big party. Not according to the Bible. In the Bible, you will have, as Jared said, you'll be alone. You won't see anybody else.
[19:03] You won't see anybody else. Yeah. Oh, okay.
[19:40] Planning their party. Planning their party. Yep. Well, you can plan it, but let me tell you something.
[19:51] It's not happening. Lake of fire. Also, Trish, did you look up Matthew 8, 12, and Jared, Matthew 22, 13.
[20:09] What one side, what was it, B3? B3. Timing and descriptions.
[20:32] Yep. Yep. No, I have no. Thank you. I'll show you. Oh, he's still in the front.
[20:45] See me, see me afterward. I'll get to you. I'll get back to you. That one. Okay. So, Matthew, Jared, 22, 13. He's still not listening to me.
[20:58] All right. So, Lake of fire. Trish, Matthew 8, 12. But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into utter darkness that shall be reaching and gnashing of teeth.
[21:10] Utter darkness, 22, 13. Utter darkness and gnashing of teeth. Matthew 22, 13. 22, 13.
[21:29] Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. That's okay. Two times in Matthew, he tells you what it's going to be like.
[21:52] And he says, it's going to be utter darkness and gnashing of teeth. So, the idea that we're going to have a big party, you're not even going to see who's there with you.
[22:03] You're not going to know anybody who's there with you. When it talks about what's going to happen, it's a fact that things are different. You're in Revelation there with me. The rest of you.
[22:14] Revelation 21. Revelation 21, 23 says, And the city had no need of sun, neither of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
[22:31] Look at 22, 5. 22, 5 says, And there shall be no night there, and they need no candle, neither light of the sun, for the Lord God giveth them light, and they shall reign forever and ever.
[22:46] He says, Look, hell, there's going to be no light whatsoever. You won't see anything going on. There's no, nothing there that's going to be able to help you with the sorrow of the loss that you feel.
[23:03] There's nothing there to help you with the emotional suffering you feel. I started to think about it the other day. Think about it living here, or I have a cousin who used to live in Alaska. In Alaska, part of it, you know, they have no sun at all for part of the time.
[23:20] Think about the fact that as we even here in Maine, we see sun every day, but during the wintertime, it's very limited, and we have a lot of cloudy days, a lot of snowy days, and this year rainy days and stuff.
[23:36] How do you feel on those days? You know, those days you're just like, oh, man, I wish we could see the sun. Man, if the sun would just come back out again.
[23:47] We could just have a couple days of sun. That's the way they're going to feel. And how do you feel when you feel like that? Ah, it's emotionally draining to us.
[23:58] Some people have to have those therapy lights. Yeah. And there won't be any of those. There won't be any of those therapy lights in hell. You're right. He says also, there's going to be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
[24:10] That talks about, there's actually going to be pain. Agony. Agony taking place. So you feel the fact that there's no hope and this pain combined there.
[24:23] It's just like, oh, it's just hard to think about what it will be like. Yeah.
[24:36] Right. Yeah.
[24:47] You don't see it, but you feel it. Yeah. Yeah.
[25:05] It's interesting. The guy I'm seeing at the jail, he has done work in national parks around the country and stuff. And one of the first things that I saw him light up with was he came in one day and he said, we got to go outside finally for rec.
[25:24] And he said, when we went outside, he said, the birds are singing. I could watch the chipmunks running around and stuff. And he said, and then see the river. And those were exciting to him. Can you imagine being where you will never see that again?
[25:37] The worst day that we have on earth people that have experienced extreme pain, all of that is going to heal the pain.
[25:48] Oh, yeah. Yeah. It'll be totally different. Number three. Wow. We're running out of time. You know what? I was only...
[25:59] Maybe I will... Let's see. I have a quick question. Yep. Is there a difference because I know and I kind of pronounced it a little bit louder because I wasn't quite sure but in Matthew 22 that I was 13 it said outer.
[26:17] And I know that the one that Trish read said contact. Outer. Was it outer? Outer. Oh, okay. I said outer. You said outer. I said. It is outer darkness. Think of it this way.
[26:29] When you leave Earth's atmosphere you know you're going to space shuttle or something like that. You leave Earth's atmosphere. You get outer.
[26:41] I mean you can still see stars and things out there but it is dark out there. You know you see stars and things but the light is not. So think of it when I get to outer darkness which in this case there's not even stars and things you're going to see.
[26:56] There is nothing so utter darkness. That I knew I just I didn't know I thought No. No. I don't know if there was a difference but No. Yeah.
[27:10] Yeah. Okay. It's darker. Alright. We'll stop there because it's 10 till already and I won't necessarily finish the other one today. So alright.
[27:22] Let's have a word prayer. Be dismissed. We'll do this.
