[0:00] Turn to Galatians chapter 6. Galatians chapter 6.! Don't kick.

[0:31] Don't bite. Don't put down. Don't hold down. You which are spiritual, restore. And then, last week, verses 2 through 5, we talked about, make me a blessing.

[0:46] God, make me a blessing to those around me. Today, the law of sowing and reaping. Sowing and reaping. If you start having trouble hearing me, more than usual, just kind of wave at me.

[0:59] I'll try to speak up. But they say my voice, because of the way it is right now, is kind of a little harder to carry. So, if you have trouble, just wave. And I'll wave back at you.

[1:12] Galatians chapter 6. Look at verse 6. It says, Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things. Be not deceived.

[1:24] God is not mocked. For whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption.

[1:35] And he that soweth to the spirit shall of the spirit reap life everlasting. Let's have a word prayer. Father, I pray this morning that you would give me the strength, give me the voice to communicate the word that you have today.

[1:50] Lord, that you would help us to understand the law of sowing and reaping. Lord, that we would understand that you have a plan for us.

[2:04] You have a way for us to do things. And Lord, we need to follow your plan, do your will. And Lord, may we see great, mighty benefits, great and mighty results as we do your work in your way.

[2:20] Lord, help us today to grow because of this passage of scripture. In Jesus' name, amen. Amen. This portion of Galatians talks about sowing and reaping.

[2:34] Something that we all, especially if you're from this area of Maine, you kind of understand. It's something we do here in rural Maine.

[2:46] We have our gardens. We have our farms. We have everything that involves sowing and reaping. You know, we understand that there's a test of faith that takes place when we sow to see how the reaping is going to go.

[3:05] What's the weather going to be like? What's the conditions going to be like? Is the soil good enough? All these different things. But one thing is always true. What we sow, we're going to reap.

[3:17] If I go out in my garden and I put in a seed of corn, I am not expecting a watermelon come fall.

[3:32] Whatever I put in, that's what's going to come up. So I'm expecting corn to be coming up. And we need to stop and think. You ever stop and think about farming and gardens and things like that?

[3:45] But we were at a funeral yesterday, a couple. They passed away within three months of each other. They were in Florida, so we had a memorial service for them up here over in Heartland.

[4:01] And one of the things the man was known for was his gardens. He loved his gardens. And I mean they were big gardens. And he would take care of them and he would tend to them.

[4:13] There's a love that goes into that. When people have gardens and stuff, they have a love for it. People have farms and things, they have a love for it.

[4:25] They want to do it and they want to do it well. And they're looking forward to the crop that is going to come up. And there's usually one of three reasons we do that sowing. Number one is what I just mentioned.

[4:36] There's a bond of love. A bond of love that people have. And sometimes it's a, when we're talking spiritual things here like this verse, it's a love for souls.

[4:50] People just love the people around them. They love their family. They love their friends. And they want to see them know Jesus Christ as their Savior. They want to see them be on their way to heaven.

[5:03] They want to see them have the blessings of the Lord upon their life. And so out of a bond of love, they sow the seed to those family members or friends.

[5:15] Sometimes it's a bond of love for the brethren. We have a bond of love here in this church that people have for one another, that we help them out.

[5:26] We try to encourage them. We try to lift them up. We try to help them with physical things that are just going on in their life. And we do it because we have a love. Paul here is going to use, and those of you that know me, I hate using myself as an example for things.

[5:46] I hate talking about myself. But Paul here says there in verse 6, Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.

[6:03] He's using an example of a church and their pastor. That's what he's going to use for an example. And so let's take a look at what Paul says here. First of all, he talks about those who are taught.

[6:16] There's a love that comes from those who are taught. What are they taught in? The word. He says there they're taught in the word. Why do we show up to church if it's not to be taught in the word?

[6:31] Why do we come here if it's not to understand that God has something for us? That God has things that he wants us to learn. Dana? He wants us to learn things from his word so that we can grow.

[6:52] We can have the life that he wants us to have. We can have the future that he wants us to have. And it comes from knowing the word of God.

[7:03] Hebrews chapter 4 verse 12 says this. For the word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

[7:21] He says the word of God is such a weapon. It is such a healing tool as well. Because it can get in there and it can cut away the things that need to be cut away.

[7:33] It can get in there and it can tell you that, you know, this is not helping your life. You need to get rid of this. This is not what you should have in your life. You need to get rid of this. And so he says the word of God is something so special.

[7:44] And he says when you're being taught the word of God, what does he mean by taught? He means just what it sounds like, to teach orally, to instruct, to inform by word of mouth.

[8:01] When I get up here every Sunday, what am I doing? I am orally instructing you by word of mouth what this book is talking about. And what it says.

[8:12] And I'm doing it by using the Bible itself to help describe itself. You think of how many verses I use during the course of a message. Because I keep trying to bring it back to, this is what the word of God says.

[8:25] This is not what Steve Hersey says. Who cares what Steve Hersey says? This is what the word of God says. And we need to live our lives according to that. So he says those that are taught in the word are going to communicate.

[8:39] To others. Those that are taught in the word by who? By the pastors and teachers. You know the verses in Ephesians chapter 4 verse 11 and 12.

[8:51] It says this. And he gave some apostles and some prophets and some evangelists and some pastors and teachers. Why? For the perfecting of the saints. For the work of the ministry.

[9:02] For the edifying of the body of Christ. My job is to get up here as a pastor or teacher and help you to grow as saints.

[9:13] So that you can do the work of the ministry. So that you can be lifted up and edified as part of the body of Christ. So when I get up here and I speak, it's to help you learn. It's to help you grow.

[9:25] It's to help you to be encouraged in the things of God. When Paul was writing to Timothy in 2 Timothy chapter 4 verse 2, he said this.

[9:36] Preach the word. Be instant. In season. Out of season. Reprove. Rebuke. Exhort. With all longsuffering and doctrine.

[9:46] He says get up there, Timothy. You're going to be the pastor of the church at Ephesus. Get up there. And here's what I want you to do. Preach the word. Give them the word.

[9:58] Help them to understand the word. He says be instant. In season. Out of season. Reprove. Rebuke. Exhort. If there's one thing that I probably lack in, it's in the reprove and rebuke area.

[10:11] Sometimes I probably need to be a little more forceful about some things concerning sin in this world and stuff. We need to let people know this is sin. This is what God wants.

[10:22] This is how we're supposed to live. And he says do it with all longsuffering and doctrine. Be patient with people. It takes people a while to learn. He says be patient with people. Help them to learn.

[10:34] He said and teach them with doctrine. Teach them the teachings of the word of God. You need to see how it keeps coming back to that one theme. Teach them the word of God.

[10:47] So those who are taught. He says communicate to those who teach. That's what he's saying there in verse 6. To those who teach.

[10:58] The word communicate. Communion. Fellowship. Be made a partner with. Join oneself as an associate. We're to join together.

[11:10] As I teach you. We are to join together. To do the work that God has called us to do. See the congregation.

[11:21] He says there is supposed to communicate. With those who teach. So we communicate back and forth. One of the great things. If you're not with us on Wednesday night.

[11:32] One of the great things on Wednesday nights. Because of the size and things. We've moved downstairs. And we have our thing around the table. And we talk. And we take a passage of the word of God.

[11:43] And we examine it. But I don't do all the talking. Some of the others do talking as well. And it's a chance for all of us. To teach one another. And to communicate together.

[11:53] To be learning the word of God. See that communicate. Has the idea of verbal communication. We're talking together. We're fellowshipping. Student to teacher.

[12:04] Teacher to student. And we're sharing back and forth. It's also the idea of giving. Giving of material goods sometimes. Is a way you can communicate. You know. I remember back.

[12:18] A number of years ago. Before. Emails. And. Messenger. Messenger. And chat. And all those other things. People used to write notes.

[12:30] To one another. I miss those days. When people would write notes. To one another. Paul. Says look. Pastor.

[12:41] The teacher. Or teacher. To the congregation. Congregation. The pastor. He says look. Express gratitude. For what each is doing. Philippians 4.

[12:51] 16 and 17. For even in Thessalonica. You sent once and again. Unto my necessity. Not because I desire a gift. But I desire fruit.

[13:03] That I may abound to your account. He says. You guys gave to me. In my need. Two different times. At least. While I was in Thessalonica. And by giving. You helped me.

[13:15] And it wasn't because I asked for a gift. It wasn't because I asked for anything. But he said. Your giving. Allowed me to continue doing the ministry there. And therefore. As fruit.

[13:25] To your account. Because of what you gave. Because of what you did. God's going to say. Paul. You did a good job. Of getting the message. Of the gospel. Out to these people. And Philippians.

[13:37] You did a great job. Helping Paul. Get that message. Out to the Philippians. Because you helped him. Stay there. You helped him. Be able to meet his needs. While he was there. Thank you. For taking care of him.

[13:48] See God. Recognizes those things. As well. Hebrews 13. 16. Says. But to do good. And to communicate. Forget not. For with such sacrifices.

[14:00] God is well pleased. To do good. And to communicate. That's a good deed. That's something. That God's well pleased with. That's a sacrifice. Yeah. It can be. To do good.

[14:12] Is not always easy. Is it? To do right. Is not always easy. Dr. Bob Jones Sr. Used to say. Do right. Until the stars fall.

[14:24] Well. They're not falling. Anytime soon. So. Keep doing right. All the time. He says. Do good. Do right. And to communicate. To help one another.

[14:38] He says. Forget not. Sometimes. It takes. Sacrifice. To help one another. Though. It's in Sunday school. Plug for Sunday school.

[14:49] If you've not been there. We're having a good study. On people who are unnamed. In. Our. Sunday school. Time. Anybody know the name of the.

[14:59] Little boy. Who brought the. Five loaves. And the two fishes. Nope. But he played an important role. Didn't he? Anybody know the name. Of the little girl.

[15:10] Who told Naaman. To go see. Elijah. For the. Healing of his. Leprosy. Oh. But all these people. Who are unnamed. Did great things for God.

[15:21] They had an influence. On people. So we're talking about that. In Sunday school time. Where was I going with that? I don't remember. Anyway.

[15:37] These people gave sacrifice. Of themselves. And God was well pleased. We don't even know their name. But they were willing. To give of themselves. To be used of God. First Timothy. Five. Seventeen.

[15:48] Let the elders. That rule well. Be counted worthy. Of double honor. Especially they. Who labor in the word. And in doctrine. He says. Give them what they deserve.

[16:00] So. There's a bond of love. That brings us together. Why are you here today? There should be a bond of love. That brings us together. A love for the Lord Jesus Christ.

[16:11] And that's why we're here. Not because of me. You can find somebody. Who speaks better than me. If I want to find somebody. Who speaks better than me. I stay home. And watch. Adrian Rogers on TV.

[16:23] I love Adrian Rogers. But that's not what God called us to do. He called us to gather together. As a church. He says. Okay. There's a bond of love. That brings you together.

[16:35] Second. You're also bound. By the law. Bound by a law. Verse seven says. Be not deceived. God is not mocked. For whatsoever man soweth.

[16:48] That shall he also reap. There's a law of sowing and reaping. You have to sow. Before you can reap. You have to plant the seed. Before you can have a harvest.

[16:59] So first of all. Let's look at. Consider the seed. What are you planting for seed? What kind of seed. You put in the ground. Determines what you're going to get. I mentioned that at the beginning. I plant corn.

[17:10] I'm expecting corn. I'm not expecting anything else. What are you putting out there? Romans chapter two. Beginning at verse six. Who will render to every man.

[17:22] According to his deeds. God's going to reward you. According to your deeds. To them who by patient continuance. In well doing. Seek for glory and honor.

[17:33] Immortality. Eternal life. Stop there. That sounds a little like. Hey I'm looking for some glory. I'm looking for some honor. I'm looking for. But that's not what he's talking about.

[17:45] Because you read the whole verse. Immortality and eternal life. Who gives that? God does. So who's going to give. The glory and the honor? God's going to. I'm going to do things.

[17:57] Because. I want to please God. I want to have him say. Well done. Now good and faithful servant. But suppose I go into things. Without that attitude.

[18:09] Look at verse eight. For unto them that are contentious. And do not obey the truth. But obey unrighteousness. Ignition and wrath.

[18:20] What are they going to get? Tribulation and anguish. Upon every soul of man. That doeth evil. Jew first. And also to the Greek. He says you come and do things.

[18:31] According to your will. Your way. You come and do things. According to. Trying to. Glorify yourself. And everything. He says no. That's the wrong reasons. And you're going to wind up with.

[18:42] Finding a whole lot of trouble. And anguish. When you do it that way. He says. Come. Realizing. I'm going to give. I'm going to do. The thing I'm going to do.

[18:53] Because I want to see God. Glorified and honored. And when I do that. He says. You will receive glory and honor as well. Proverbs chapter 11.

[19:04] Verse 18. The wicked worketh a deceitful work. But to him that soweth righteousness. Shall be a sure reward. He says. You do right.

[19:15] All the time. You plant what is right. You go out. And you. Give of yourself.

[19:26] For God. And what he wants. He says. There's a sure reward. Coming your way. God will take care of you. So consider the seed. But also consider.

[19:38] The harvest. Consider the harvest. I go out. This afternoon. I put a corn seed. Into the ground. And I cover it over. And I put some water on it.

[19:50] And I go out tomorrow morning. And I've got a six foot tall. Stock of corn out there. Right. No. But I give it.

[20:01] For life. No. I don't have that. See. The harvest. Comes later. The harvest comes later. And sometimes we forget that. We think that.

[20:13] We should. Have things. Just as soon as we ask for them. Doesn't always work that way. See.

[20:25] One of Satan's deceptions. Is thinking that. We sowed. The wrong things. We won't be any consequences to it.

[20:36] And you see. Nothing happened. You did that. And nothing happened. And he says. No. No. No. Don't get caught up in that idea. Don't let Satan set you up. Consequences.

[20:48] Always are delayed. The consequences. Are coming. Doesn't mean they're going to happen instantly. Sometimes they. They come right off. Sometimes. They're years down.

[20:59] Be so very careful. Again. Sunday school. We've been talking. The last few weeks. About David and Bathsheba. And the baby. The consequences of that sin.

[21:10] With Bathsheba. Nine months. For that baby to be born. And when that baby is born. Seven days later. He dies. There were consequences to the sin.

[21:24] And it took a while. For that to come in there. Another thing. The harvest. Always comes in greater proportion.

[21:36] Greater proportion. What do I mean by that? Here's my corn. In the ground. And over time. Not tomorrow. Over time. The thing grows.

[21:50] Up here. But once it's up here. I planted one seed. Corn stalks here. Do I get one year of corn? I get multiple years of corn.

[22:04] Coming off that. See. It's always greater in proportion. God is going to bless. You sow the seeds. That you're supposed to sow. You plant. What you're supposed to plant. And God's going to see.

[22:15] That you get more. I always think of. Mustard. You know. Mustard cheese. A little itty bitty thing there. And you plant that.

[22:27] And what do you get? You get a bush. Full of stuff. I think of like grapes. And grapevines. Plants grapes. And you start to grow grapes. And you get.

[22:39] Bunches. And bunches. And bunches. And bunches. Of them. See. It always comes. In proportion. God says. You go out. And you plant. What I want you to plant. You plant.

[22:50] The word of God. And that word of God. Goes into your life. And that plant. That word of God. Goes into. Somebody else's life. Because you're planting it there. And you start to see growth. From them. And they plant.

[23:01] To other people's lives. God says. Look. When you plant. The word of God. In somebody's life. It's going to. Be great.

[23:13] In proportion. It's going to see. In fact. You know. You start from thinking. Jesus came to this earth. And Jesus. Took 12 guys.

[23:27] And he taught them. For three and a half years. Before he died. And there were other people. Who believed as well. Along the way. Because he's speaking to people. And stuff. And there were others. But take those 12 guys. How many Christians.

[23:39] Are in the world today? Millions. Millions. Started with 12. It grows.

[23:52] In proportion. As it goes out. He says. Look. Take the word of God. And plant it. And water it. And let it. See it grow.

[24:04] Help it to grow. So. There's a bond of love. They're bound by a law. The law of sowing and reaping. It's based on a lesson.

[24:15] Based on a lesson. Look at verse 8. It says. For he that soweth to his flesh. Shall of the flesh reap corruption. That he that soweth to the spirit.

[24:26] That he that soweth to the spirit. Shall of the spirit. Reap life everlasting. First of all. He says. It's based on us. The sowing to the flesh. Produces corruption. When we sow to our flesh.

[24:36] And we let our flesh go. And we do the things that we want to do. He says. It's going to. Reap corruption. Numbers chapter 32. Verse 23. Says this. But if ye will not do so.

[24:50] Behold. Ye have sinned against the Lord. And be sure your sin will find you out. Be sure your sin will find you out.

[25:01] When we sow to the flesh. And we think we've gotten away with things. And we think we've done things. He says. Look. It's going to find you out. We were talking in Sunday school. Probably most of you have seen the thing this week.

[25:14] On the internet or the news. Or something about the couple at the concert. Be sure your sin will find you out. What a tragedy.

[25:27] All of that is. What a tragedy to have all of that happen. Now. For us. It will happen personally. Personally. He says.

[25:39] Your sin will find you out. We think of. You know. Oh yeah. This thing will take care of it. And that thing. But my little sin. My just. No.

[25:50] God says. Oh. Be careful. It has a way. Of showing up. Coming out. Mel Trotter. Some of you have heard that name before. Mel Trotter. Was basically.

[26:02] A barber who was a drunk. Don't want him cutting my hair. But he. That was his reputation. He was basically a drunk. And. He wound up getting saved.

[26:14] And as he gets saved. He became. The leader. In the Grand Rapids. Michigan area. Of a. Rescue mission. And then he wound up becoming a leader. Of a series of rescue missions.

[26:25] All over the country. He was the founder. Of the Brotherhood of Rescue Mission. Superintendents. And there was a group of them meeting. At a restaurant one day. And. They're ordering things to drink.

[26:36] Along with their meal and stuff. And. Mel Trotter ordered. A certain kind of water. And. They're like. Why did you order that water?

[26:46] And why did. Why didn't you order. You know. Some soda or something. You know. Some coffee. Something. You know. One of these type of things. And stuff. He said. The Lord saved me.

[26:57] And gave me a new heart. But because of alcohol. I'll have to wait for a new stomach. Our sins will find us out.

[27:08] Our sins will. Have an effect on us. Long term. You know. I think back. In the 80's. How many pastors.

[27:22] Their sin found them out. And they had to leave the ministry. Because of sin in their life. Romans chapter 6. Verse 13. Says this. Neither yield ye your members.

[27:33] As instruments of unrighteousness. Unto sin. But yield yourselves. Unto God. As those that are alive. From the dead. And your members. As instruments of righteousness. Unto God. Do not follow your lust.

[27:45] Do not follow your. Your concerns. Do not follow after the things. You covet after. He says. You follow. God. Yield to him. Follow what he wants you to do.

[27:56] And let him work in your life. And let your instrument. Your body be an instrument. Of righteousness. For him. You know. Today. One of the easiest ways.

[28:07] To sin. And with David. Again. With Bathsheba. And we were talking about. You know. The look. The lust. And then the license. He looked.

[28:19] Lust. And then. Lust came into his heart. And then he took a license. To do the things that he wanted to do. Today. Social media.

[28:33] Everybody's into social media. Everybody wants to know what everybody else is doing. You know. I have some people.

[28:45] That I see every once in a while. And it's like. I really don't care. What you had for breakfast this morning. Or lunch. Or supper. But here's a picture of the food that they had.

[28:56] It's like. Yeah. That looks lovely. Glad you had it. Why am I seeing it? You know. I. You know. As a kid growing up. And I'll be 69 in December. So I'm.

[29:07] I'm getting up there. So as a kid growing up. We didn't have all that stuff. And you know what. I have. I don't think my life was smart. Or scarred. At all. By not knowing what people had for breakfast.

[29:20] Doesn't think it bothered me at all. May have. I may be having a. You know. Psychological thing going on there. But I don't think it bothered me at all. So. Anyway. Social media.

[29:34] Be careful. You know. Social media. And we used to have this conversation about TV. Social media. TV. They're tools. They're not evil.

[29:47] They're not good. They're tools. What you do with them. You know. I can take an axe. And I can chop down trees. And I can make logs.

[29:59] And I can build myself a log cabin. And I can. Ooh. That's. You know. Got a tool in my hand. And I can do something great. Or you can watch the movies and say. I can become an axe murderer.

[30:09] You know. One or the other. You know. It makes. It's a tool. What do you do with it? I have friends I follow. I mentioned Adrian Rogers.

[30:20] I have on my TV. And on my phone. I can go watch an Adrian Rogers message. Anytime I want. But. A lot of times. We tend to do other things.

[30:32] With those things. The gateway to pornography. Is people's phones now. The gateway to. A lot of things. Can become through your phones.

[30:42] So what do you do. He says. Look. Verse 8 there. He that soweth to his flesh. Shall of the flesh. Reap corruption. Do not allow your flesh.

[30:54] To go to those places. What about corporately. What about as a. As a church. What happens there. First Peter. Second Peter.

[31:05] Chapter 2. Verses 19 and 20. While they promise them liberty. They themselves. Are the servants of corruption. For of whom. A man is overcome.

[31:16] Of the same. Is he brought. In bondage. Okay. Stop there for a second. Before I look at 20. You've heard me talk about. Verses here in Galatians. Before. About liberty. We have a tendency to.

[31:29] Liberty. Liberty. Liberty. I have liberty in Christ. I have liberty in this. I have liberty in that. And we do. But. That liberty. Is to be used. For.

[31:40] The things. Of God. Not. Verse. Chapter 5. Verse 1. There in Galatians. Chapter 5. Verse 1. Says.

[31:50] Stand fast. Therefore. Therefore. In the liberty. Wherewith Christ. Hath made us free. And be not entangled. Again. With the yoke. Of bondage. I have liberty. But so often today.

[32:02] Christians take it as. I have liberty. I can do whatever. I want. Because I have liberty. In Christ. That is not what that means. And then you look at.

[32:12] This verse. In 2nd Peter. Chapter 2. While they promise them. Liberty. They themselves. Are the servants. Of corruption. And again. Even now.

[32:23] In this day. We keep hearing. Of pastors. Who get themselves. Into trouble. Because they don't. Listen. To a verse. Like this. They say.

[32:34] I have liberty. I can do this. I can do that. I can do whatever. And they start to take it. And run with it. And he says. They become the servants. Of corruption. Verse 20. For if they. After they have escaped.

[32:45] The pollutions of the world. Through the knowledge. Of the Lord Jesus Christ. They are again. Entangled. Therein. And overcome. The latter. End. Is worse.

[32:56] Than the first. Or worse. Than the beginning. I got thinking. About that one. They.

[33:11] Escaped. The things of the world. They got saved. They're following Christ. They're doing what Christ. Wants them to do. They're doing good things. And then they fall back. Into sin. And he says.

[33:24] The latter end. Is worse. With them. Than the beginning. Why is it worse? When I was a sinner. Before I was saved. I didn't know any better.

[33:37] But then. I had an encounter. With Jesus Christ. Somebody came to me. Some Christian came to me. And told me about Jesus Christ. And I got saved. And now I'm saved. And I'm following Christ.

[33:48] I'm listening to Christ. The Holy Spirit's working within me. And here comes along a time. And. The devil's in there. Tempting. And just like with David.

[33:58] In Sunday school. He let. His. Sight. He let. His desires. Get the better of him. And went. In a different direction. Than what God wanted him to.

[34:11] At first. I didn't know any better. But now. I know better. Now. I have the Holy Spirit. Working in my life. Now. I have the Holy Spirit. Teaching me. And he says. Don't go there.

[34:22] The Holy Spirit's going. Hey. You. No. Uh-uh. That's not where you're supposed to go. That's not what you're supposed to do. You know. We do it anyway. It's hard to come back from that.

[34:34] Isn't it? Sometimes. So many of our churches today. There's a whole nother thing.

[34:45] About. Music. The people in the pulpit. Things like that. I'm not going to take. I have things here. But I'm not going to take the time now. Be careful.

[34:56] About what you allow into your life. Ephesians 5.19 says. Speaking to yourself in psalms. And hymns. And spiritual songs. Singing and making melody in your heart.

[35:08] To the Lord. Music should not be. Dependent upon. What I like. And what I dislike. Music should be dependent upon. What is holy. And leads me to Christ. What points me to Christ.

[35:22] Did you know. We use modern music. In this church. At the end of the service. We're going to use a modern song. But.

[35:35] Just because it's modern. Doesn't mean we can't use it. But most modern music. Leads to. You know. The music leads to fleshly things. The words lead.

[35:47] But using. Again. Using music. It's a tool. How are we using it? How about church pulpit? I guess so many people. Today. Who are teaching. Basically. Pop psychology.

[35:58] Instead of teaching. The word of God. We need to be teaching. The word of God. All the time. That's again. Why do you see so many verses.

[36:09] On these screens behind me. It's because it's the word of God. That matters. Second thing. And closing up. Finishing up here. Sewing to the spirit. Produces life.

[36:20] Sewing to the spirit. Produces life. See. We're supposed to follow the spirit. We're supposed to live according to what the spirit is teaching us.

[36:31] Ephesians 5.11 says. Have no fellowship. With the unfruitful works of darkness. But rather reprove them. We need to make sure that we're doing that. He says.

[36:43] Proverbs 11.30 says. The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life. And he that winneth souls. Is wise. What is our goal? What is the thing we're trying. We're trying to lead people to Jesus Christ.

[36:55] We're trying to show people that Jesus Christ is the answer. To everything that they need. Jesus Christ. Can help them here in this life.

[37:07] Jesus Christ can help them in the life to come. Jesus Christ. Has all the power. Says all power is given unto me. Both in heaven and earth. And.

[37:20] If I'm living according to the spirit. I'm going to have an attitude of giving. Ah. Here he comes. Here he comes. And the pastor's going to talk about giving. He wants our money.

[37:31] No I don't. No I don't. Well. Yes. No. No I don't. Second Corinthians. Chapter 9. Verses 6 and 7.

[37:41] But this I say. He that soweth sparingly. Shall reap also sparingly. And he that soweth bountifully. Shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart.

[37:54] So let him give. Not grudgingly. Or of necessity. For God loveth a cheerful giver. Guys. A cheerful giver.

[38:10] He says look. You need to be giving. Does that mean just money? No. Give of yourself. Give of your time. Give of your talent. Give of. Give to others.

[38:20] To help them come to that saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Help people to understand that Jesus is the answer. For everything they need. Giving money.

[38:32] Those of you who are in Sunday school again. One of the people with no name. Was a lady. Who gave the two mites. We have no idea what her name is. And she came and she offered two pennies.

[38:45] Basically. Two cents. And they were sitting there and people were watching. And oh this guy gave this much. And this guy gave this much. And this guy gave this much. Because they had it. And they gave out of their abundance.

[38:57] And Jesus said that's good. But this woman. Her two pennies. She gave out of her need. She gave out of her living. She gave everything that she had.

[39:10] And he says he was well pleased with that. She was willing to give and trust him. We need to give. And trust God.

[39:21] For everything that he's going to do. So. We have a bond of love. We have a law. We're bound by a law. We have. It's based on the lesson of. Of sowing.

[39:32] And reaping. We need to give to God. Everything we have. Why should we do that? Because again. Jesus is all we need.

[39:44] When we give of ourselves. To him. To his work. To his purpose. To whatever it is he wants us to do. We give ourselves to him.

[39:57] We say but. I got to do that again. Is God big enough. To take care of you? Is God big enough. To meet the needs?

[40:08] Is God big enough. To say. I'm going to take what you gave me. And I'm going to. Increase it. And I'm going to increase what. You have. Because of it. God.

[40:22] To quote a song. We're going to sing here in just a minute. Christ. Is sufficient. For everything we need. Christ is sufficient. We trust him.

[40:34] We've got everything. That we need. Let's stand. If you're here this morning. And you do not know. Jesus Christ is your savior. This has not been a salvation message.

[40:45] But. I would love to show you. From the word of God. How you can know. The Lord Jesus Christ is your savior. If you're here. And you've never asked. Jesus Christ to come into your life. And you'd like to know more about.

[40:56] How he is sufficient. You'd like to know more about. This idea of sowing. And giving. And reaping. Come talk to me. Let me show you from God's word.

[41:07] Again. Everything comes from this book. Let me show you from God's word. How you can know for sure. That you are on your way to heaven. And you have Jesus Christ in your life. Because Jesus Christ is sufficient.

[41:22] For everything we need.
