[0:00] How about get Revelation 21? If I asked you what do you think man's greatest problem is, the world's greatest problem for that matter, you could come up with a long list of problems, of issues, things in life, but without a doubt, without a doubt, man's greatest problem is sin.
[0:33] Without a doubt. If you've got a Bible and you put any time into that, it screams right at the beginning. I mean, God, it's not his health, it's not money, it's not a job, it's not a disease, it's sin.
[0:46] And God put man in a perfect environment, in a perfect place, and he had everything he needed, and then he blew it. He just blew it, and then everything fell apart.
[0:57] And the Bible says, wherefore, by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin. So death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned. But when sin came into the world, things got jacked up pretty bad.
[1:12] And sin is by no means exclusive to the human race. We learn in the scriptures that Lucifer fell before Adam was ever created. His heart was lifted up in pride, and even some angels sinned.
[1:28] But it's by one man that sin entered into the world. The world as we know it, you might say. And sin has a beginning. But what I want to talk about tonight is maybe, you know, some months ago I said I reserved the right to go off on rabbit trails.
[1:43] From something that gets my crawl on Sunday, and then, you know, there's not enough time on Sunday to really go down that trail. So this is kind of one of those. It spun on my heart this week.
[1:53] And on Sunday we got into a message in Isaiah that Lord willing we'll finish up this Sunday. That there is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked. And we saw some things about the pleasures of sin.
[2:04] And kind of parked there for a little bit, but not nearly long enough to really draw out and really just emphasize some of this in, just to get it in. That there's pleasures in sin.
[2:16] And so sin, I showed you some other scriptures, how it's deceitful. But just in that little realm, I think we could just go a lot further than we did on Sunday. And if I try to just start off by saying I believe man's greatest problem is sin.
[2:31] Man's greatest problem. And you might not think so. You might not even get that. You might think, yeah, but we could, we don't have to sin. And I can live above sin because of the spirit of God.
[2:42] But I think if you could, this is going to be reality one day. But if we could, if we could get a glimpse of what it could be like without sin.
[2:55] If what your life could be like without sin. I don't, you can't do it. And I don't even think just talking about it. I don't think I can even convey to you even now and in five minutes of just beating on this. I don't think you're going to get it.
[3:07] I don't feel like I get it. In concept, I think, wow. I think incredible. But I don't think we can get it just yet. And so because of that, you might look at it and be like, yeah, sin, sin, yeah, sin, sin, sin.
[3:21] I know, but it's not that big a deal. It's not that big of a load in my life or that big of a burden to me. I'm saved. I'm not like that out there. I'm better than that. I've cleaned up a little bit.
[3:32] And I don't think you get it. I don't think you see it or realize how wicked you are and how much sin you see and are surrounded with on a daily basis.
[3:45] I don't think you get it until it's all gone. And when it's all gone and when you don't have to be, the Bible tells us that we're going to be delivered from it.
[3:57] Who doth deliver? And the Bible says he will yet deliver us. And one day, by the grace of Almighty God, according to his eternal purpose, which he purposed in Christ Jesus, we're going to be out of here.
[4:07] We're going to be away from sin. We're going to be removed from it. He's going to fast forward. He's just going to be done with it all. And you're going to experience a feeling, more than a feeling, a reality.
[4:22] You're a being that is separate from sin, that is like the Lord Jesus Christ. And I just, in my mind, see that moment as a moment of more than liberty, more than peace, more than that freedom of no more sin, more than just not having to think about it anymore, not having to fight it anymore, not having to put up with it anymore.
[4:48] Just this is what I've, this is what God made Adam like. This is what I'm supposed to be like. When you get rid of sin in your flesh, and you're out of your flesh, and you're made glorified, your mind's right, your environment's going to be holy.
[5:05] I don't think you can get it. I know I can't. I'm trying to. I know I can't yet. Look at Revelation 21, just to help us understand that this is going to be a reality one day.
[5:16] Notice in verse number 3, And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
[5:29] And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes, and there shall be no more death. What does Romans 6.23 say? The wages of sin is death.
[5:40] And one day, that's done. There shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things, thank God, are passed away.
[5:52] And that day, you'll stand there when he makes all things new, and one thing that's going to be in the past, forever, is sin. And then you're going to realize, then you're going to see it clearly, and feel it in your being, that is and was my greatest problem.
[6:08] The worst thing I've ever dealt with, and it's gone. Sin. Sin is man's greatest problem, there's no doubt about it. The Bible calls it some terms like, Iniquity, wickedness, unrighteousness, transgression, abomination.
[6:29] All these things, by God's grace, one day will be done away with. And that's a great thing to think of, a great kind of concept to have before you, that it'll be in your past.
[6:42] But in the present, today, you've got to deal with it. Today, it's your biggest problem. Bar none. Your biggest problem. Your biggest problem is sin.
[6:53] And you know who sins? Sinners. And you know what you are? If you need to be reminded, on a Wednesday night, a little uplifting message, you're a sinner. That's what you are. You're a sinner.
[7:04] You fall so short of the glory of God. Even on Wednesday night, in church. So, no pep talk this evening.
[7:15] No delusions about what we truly are inside of us. We're sinners. We sin. We fall short. One day, God's going to put it away. But in the time being, in the current day, it's our biggest problem.
[7:29] Now, there's some things about it. I want to just run you through some. I'll tell you what. Let's go to Galatians 3. However, I'll ask. Let me tell you what. Change my mind.
[7:40] I got so much scripture here. I just. Russ, would you please go to Galatians 3, verse 22? And how about, Justin, would you please go to Job 14, 4?
[7:53] And then I'll have Brian get Proverbs 20 and verse 9. And the rest of us, let's go back to Job as well.
[8:04] There's a few spots we can catch in Job. Let me say a few things about sin tonight as your greatest problem. And just let the Bible speak to the topic and believe what it says.
[8:19] And you could fight it, but the more it talks, the more it speaks, the more you have to admit, yeah, that's true, that's me. First thing I want us to think about in the way of sin, the sphere of sin or the, I don't know, the extent of it.
[8:40] It starts in your life early and it's a universal problem. And so let's hear from Russ first, please. Galatians 3, 22.
[8:51] But the scripture has concluded, all under sin, that the promise of faith in Jesus Christ might be given to them. So the scripture concluded, it's settled, all under sin.
[9:06] You and I, every single one of us, we're sinners. We're all under sin, so saith the scripture. I quoted already Romans 5, 12, that sin entered into the world, death by sins, and the death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.
[9:22] For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Now look in Job and look at, let's see, Justin, you got 14, right? Okay, so go ahead and read that.
[9:35] I guess we're all there, but go ahead. Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? You notice verse 1, if you're there in Job 14, man of his born of a woman is a few days and full of trouble.
[9:47] And it describes his life just being pretty short. And the question is, who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? It's a good question. The answer is none. And therefore, you're a sinner because your mother's a sinner.
[10:00] And I'm not here to talk about your mother, but she's a sinner. So is your father. They all have sinned. And so now come to chapter 15 and look at verses 14 through 16.
[10:11] Job 15, verse 14. The question is asked, What is man that he should be clean? And he which is born of a woman, that he should be righteous. Behold, speaking of God, he putteth no trust in his saints, yea, the heavens are not clean in his sight.
[10:25] How much more abominable and filthy is man, which drinketh iniquity like water. If the heavens aren't pure in God's sight are clean, what in the world? Man is just as filthy as can be.
[10:38] Drinketh iniquity like water. So the scripture gives this just straight up, just a blanket across all of humanity. All have sinned. And that includes you and me.
[10:49] And I don't make any professions to be above that. I never will. I know me. And if you don't know me well enough, then don't let me deceive you. I'm wicked. I'm a sinner.
[11:00] And I have to submit to this scripture. I'm right there. So the sphere of sin is universal. Proverbs 20, verse 9, please. Who can say that?
[11:16] If you've been born of a woman, the Bible says you can't bring a clean thing out of an unclean. The Bible describes there in Job that comparing yourself to anything, you're filthy and abominable and not clean.
[11:30] What is man that he should be clean? It's not possible. And who can even say that? Who can say I've made myself clean? I'm pure from my sin. I've cleaned up. I'm done with it.
[11:41] It's never going to affect... Who can say that's the question? It's rhetorical. There's no answer. There's no answer. So sin is universal. All right. Now, secondly, sin is manifested early in life.
[11:55] Early. These little kids around here, guess what? They're sinners. It showed up right away, and it did too with you. It shows up right away. The Bible says in Genesis...
[12:06] Well, let's look at it. Genesis 8. Look at Genesis 8. This is after God is pretty upset with mankind.
[12:23] He destroys them out with a flood. Man and beast, everything. Just wipes it out clean. Keeps Noah and his family alive. After all of this, he's starting over with Noah. Noah builds an altar in verse 20.
[12:35] And then the Lord in verse 21. Smelled a sweet savor, and the Lord said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground anymore for man's sake. And here's what he says. For the imagination of man's heart is evil.
[12:47] Notice the next three words. From his youth. From his youth. The imagination of man's heart is evil.
[12:57] Sin is manifested early. Look at Psalm 58. Psalm 58. A strong statement.
[13:10] Here against the wickedness of man. And how it shows up right away. Psalm 58. And verse number 3.
[13:22] The wicked are estranged from the womb.
[13:34] They go astray as soon as they be born. Speaking lies. Now does that mean a baby pops out the womb and it's a liar?
[13:44] I'm sure it's more figurative of the statement. But you get the idea. It's manifest early. Very early. In life. So much so that in Proverbs 22.15.
[13:56] The Bible says foolishness is bound in the heart of a child. So they're not innocent. And they're not wonderful. And inside their heart is foolishness.
[14:08] Inside their heart is lies. In that passage. Even a child is known by his doings. Whether his work be pure. Whether it be right. And in that passage.
[14:18] It's talking about a king in the Proverbs. That he can scatter away all evil with his eyes. When he's sitting in the throne of judgment. And the idea is that he can discern between good and evil. He's got the wisdom of God.
[14:30] And he has that gift of God to do that. And then it's statements like. Even a child is known by his doings. So you're not going to come before the king and put one over on him. And the statement is just like.
[14:42] The picture is God with man. Just like a father with a child that says. I didn't. Did you eat the last cookie? And they say no. But the chocolate chips all over their lips.
[14:54] And their fingers have the chocolate on them still. No. And a child is just that transparent. Their sin. To a father. To a discerning adult. And the same thing is true of God.
[15:05] Looking at all mankind. Hide it. Cover it up. Come to church. Pretend it's not there. Even a child is known by his doing. So of course God sees your sins.
[15:17] So sins are manifested early. Sin is man's greatest problem. There's a few verses. And I'm going to run you through a couple of these. Because sin. The Bible gives several very definitive statements on sin.
[15:30] Like very. Like descriptive statements. And I want to take you to them. Look at Proverbs 24. And here's one of them. You might say.
[15:42] What is sin? What. How can you put your finger on what it is? Well here's a few verses. Maybe not everything falls into these. This is five verses here. Maybe not at all five categories necessarily.
[15:55] But. Maybe. Maybe. Here's one. Proverbs 24. Verse number nine. The thought of foolishness.
[16:07] Is sin. What is sin? In this case. The thought of foolishness. You say. What's that? Well even in the verse. Verse eight says. He that diviseth to do evil. It's devising to do evil.
[16:20] Shall be called a mischievous person. The thought of foolishness. Is sin. In Proverbs six. He calls an abomination. The heart that diviseth wicked imaginations.
[16:33] So the context here is devising and thinking upon doing something. It's not even the action is it? It's the devising. It's the planning.
[16:43] It's the. It's laying it out in your mind. How you could participate or partake or be involved in the sin. Entertaining that folly in your heart and mind.
[16:54] The Bible says it's sin. And it's in the mind. Man. There's so much scripture to go to tonight. If I'm going to really do these points justice. How about let's just get 2nd Corinthians chapter number 10.
[17:13] I'm reminded of somebody in Acts chapter 8. I'm going to stop there and read when I'm. As soon as I get there. Acts chapter 8. When there's a man named Simon. Who's. Who used sorcery.
[17:27] And bewitched the people of Samaria. And he sees. That Simon. And Philip. Are preaching things concerning the kingdom of God. And he sees that the apostles are working miracles.
[17:37] And he wants that power. And in. And it's. Wickedness. His. Desires here. Peter says. Let me see. Acts 8. And verse.
[17:50] 22. Is where it's at. He says. Repent therefore of this thy wickedness. And pray God. If perhaps notice. The thought of thine heart. May be forgiven thee. The thought of his heart.
[18:01] It's the thought of foolishness. That's sin. It's something inside of you. The thinking. And in this case. It's trying to. Buy the gift of God. With money.
[18:11] To use it for his own gain. Or what have you. But it's. It's up here in the mind. Look at 2nd Corinthians 10 now. And verse number 5. Casting down imaginations. And every high thing.
[18:22] That exalteth itself. Against the knowledge of God. And bringing into captivity. Every thought. To the obedience of Christ. So one description of sin.
[18:33] Is the thought of foolishness. Or the thought. That is. It's called an imagination. Imagining or devising to do evil. And in this case. It's against the knowledge of God.
[18:44] It's against what you know is right. Or what the scripture says is right. And that's sin. But you say. But I never did it. God calls it out. And he knows the thoughts of your heart.
[18:55] He says. I know every one of them. And he calls it sin. And he'll hold you accountable for it. Let's move on to another one. Look at. Let's see. Let's go to.
[19:08] 1st John. Let's get these. There's two back there. There's one in Romans 14. That says. That whatsoever is not of faith. Is sin. And that's something we'd have to study out a little carefully.
[19:21] It's kind of the context of. Sinning or violating your conscience. And what you perceive to be right. And. If it's not of faith. It's sin.
[19:31] If you think it's wrong. And you do it. Then you're guilty. But now let's go to 1st John chapter 3. 1st John 3 verse number 4. Whosoever.
[19:45] Committeth sin. Transgresseth also the law. For. Here's the definitive statement. Sin. Is the transgression of the law. And we read in James. That if you break the law in one point.
[19:57] You're guilty of the whole thing. It's not a matter of just. Well. Only sin that way. You. You make yourself guilty quickly. And he was manifest to take away our sins. Verse 5. And in him is no sins.
[20:08] Praise the Lord. But sin is the transgression of the law. There's another description. One more is in 1st John 5 verse 17. Look at this one. And this one.
[20:18] Has us in a mess. 1st John 5 verse 17. If you want to know one verse. To try to. Submit to and follow. Let this be the one. 1st John 5 verse 17.
[20:31] All. Unrighteousness. Is sin. That's a pretty strong statement. It's a pretty broad statement. A.
[20:42] A. L. L. L. There's not any like little loopholes in that. Although you can justify things in your heart and life. We can do that. You've been around church long enough.
[20:53] You can declare something to be okay. And then the Lord just is going to put this right on you. I said. All unrighteousness is sin. And you're going to follow through with Romans 3.
[21:04] That every mouth may be stopped. And all the world become guilty before God. Before the holy God. All of it sin. All right. Now. There's one more.
[21:14] And that's James chapter 4. Let's do that one. The last statement. The definitive statements on sin in the Bible. James chapter 4. And this one we could run around on to for a while.
[21:29] Well. But that's not my goal tonight. James 4 verse 17 says. Therefore to him that knoweth to do good. Has the knowledge.
[21:40] He knows to do good. And doeth it not. To him. Personal. Sin. To him it is sin. It's a personal thing. God will hold you personally accountable.
[21:52] For what you knew was right. And refused to do. Or it's a personal thing. Between you and God. And the knowledge that you have. And not everybody has the same knowledge you have.
[22:02] And you know that. Now there's a few. And this is kind of. Just covering some ground here. Introducing some thoughts. And what the scripture will declare about sin.
[22:13] But now let's move into a different category here. And this is kind of what we touched on Sunday. Sin's characteristics. I'm not going to run you through these references. We did Sunday already. Sin has pleasures.
[22:25] Right. It wouldn't be so luring. And so attractive. If it didn't please my flesh. If it didn't feel so good. To just cut loose. And not worry about it.
[22:36] Sin absolutely has pleasures. The second thing we saw on Sunday. Was that sin is deceitful. And I ran you through Hebrews 3. And Romans 11. Both of them saying that sin was deceitful.
[22:48] Paul said sin deceived me. And then he said that the word of God came in. And that it might appear sin. And appear exceeding sinful. As a matter of fact.
[22:59] But without the word of God. What's wrong with that? That will be the thing we say all the time. What's wrong with that? That's not wrong for me to do it. Well maybe it's wrong for you.
[23:10] Maybe it's your truth. But it's not mine. We make adjustments. And justifications for a lot of things. Sin has pleasures. Sin is deceitful. But now tonight.
[23:20] Let's go to another level here. Go to Romans chapter 6. Sin is controlling. Sin is controlling. That's why you don't play around with sin.
[23:33] That's why you don't give an inch to sin. Because you're not smart enough. And you're not strong enough. To stay away and to break free. From something that's a lot more powerful than you.
[23:45] And can control you. Romans chapter 6. When God tells you to stay away. The best thing you can do for your own good. Is to stay away.
[23:57] Romans 6 verse number 12. The Bible says. Let not sin therefore reign. Like a king. In your mortal body.
[24:07] That ye should obey it. Like you're a servant. That ye should obey it. In the lust thereof. Verse 14. For sin shall not have dominion over you.
[24:20] For ye are not under the law. But under grace. But notice. Sin can rule. And can have dominion. It can be controlling. Look at verse number 16. Know ye not.
[24:31] That to whom ye yield yourselves. Servants to obey. His servants. Ye are. To whom you obey. Whether of sin. Unto death. That's your master.
[24:42] In that verse. To whom. And this is. This is like. I don't have time. I don't have time to talk about this. But. That's a person there. Whom.
[24:53] By the way. Verse 16. Your Bible is perfect. And that word is there for a reason. And I believe. Something about that. To whom ye yield yourselves. Servants to obey. His servants. Ye are.
[25:05] To whom you obey. Whether of sin. Unto death. Or of obedience. Unto righteousness. And then. Ye were the servants of sin. And God frees us from sin. In verse 18.
[25:16] And so forth. But sin is controlling. It can have dominion. You're a servant to it. And it can rule. Or reign. Inside of you. You're not sure about that. Come back to the Proverbs.
[25:27] Again. Proverbs chapter 5. Let's run a few verses. Back here. Just letting the Bible. Talk tonight. Proverbs chapter 5. If there's anything you can take away from this.
[25:53] Is that you cannot handle sin. You cannot handle it. It will get the best of you. The little ones. Absolutely the little ones. They're the worst.
[26:03] They're the ones that you allow. They're the ones you think are okay. They're the ones that get inside. And then get inside. And then start to take over. Proverbs chapter 5. Look at verse number 21.
[26:16] His own iniquities. Shall take the wicked. Himself. The iniquities are doing the action. They're taking over.
[26:27] And he shall be holden. He shall be holden. With the cords of his sins. Sins take over. They control. They decide.
[26:38] They run the show. When you let them in. Sins are controlling. Look at chapter 11 of Proverbs. Verse number 6. Proverbs 11.
[26:51] And verse 6. The Bible says. The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them. But transgressors shall be taken in their own naughtiness.
[27:06] One more. 29. Look at Proverbs 29. And also verse 6. Verse 5.
[27:20] Verse 5. Talks about a net being spread for his feet. Then verse 6. Says in the transgression of an evil man. There is a snare. A snare. And so the scripture gives this picture of sin.
[27:34] That gets a hold of you. And takes over you. And binds you. And controls you. It's easy to see that with a drunkard.
[27:47] It's easy to see that played out in the end. With a junkie. With someone who's just completely destroyed. It's easy to see that. It's hard for you to believe the Bible.
[27:58] When it's just your little sins. It's hard for you to admit and believe. That those sins are just as damaging to me and my heart. And controlling.
[28:08] Now sin has pleasures. Sin is deceitful. Sin is controlling. Another characteristic of sin is that sin has consequences. You ain't getting away from it.
[28:20] Look at Proverbs chapter 1. Proverbs chapter 1. And look at verses 30 through 32.
[28:35] This is after God is rejected. His spirit reproves them. And tells them to turn. Tries to offer wisdom. Which by the way fools in verse 22 hate.
[28:49] They hate knowledge. And in verse 30. They would none of my counsel. They despised all my reproof. Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way.
[29:03] And be filled with their own devices. For the turning away of the simple shall slay them. And the prosperity of fools shall destroy them. Sin has consequences.
[29:14] Absolutely consequences. Look at chapter 14. One more verse here in Proverbs. And verse 14.
[29:32] Proverbs 14 verse 14. Says the backslider in heart. Not outwardly. Can't even see it. But they're wrong. They've backslidden in their heart.
[29:43] Notice it says. Shall be filled with his own ways. He shall be filled with his own ways. That man is going to get consequences for his sins. Now.
[29:54] I don't want to turn all these passages anymore. I'm just going to. Kind of. Stay back here. Go to Ecclesiastes. And. I'll. Run you through a few quick ones.
[30:04] And. Ecclesiastes. Sin has consequences. There's just some generic. Or some broad statements on it. One consequence of sin is corruption. He that soweth to his flesh.
[30:16] Shall of the flesh. Reap. Corruption. When you sin. Built into that sin. Is a consequence. And in Galatians chapter 6.
[30:28] It's corruption. Corruption. If you sow. To things in your mind. And stare at things you shouldn't be looking at. You're corrupting your mind. And now you can't stop thinking.
[30:39] Dirty thoughts. Or. Or seeing things. Or. Having relationships in life. Where that's the way you. Lean toward. You corrupt your mind. You listen to the wrong music.
[30:51] And you put that stuff in. And you put it in. You put it in. You sow it. You sow it. You sow it. You're going to reap that corruption in your mind. For a young person. They get corrupted on. The word of God tries to clean you up.
[31:03] But sin. As it comes in. Tries to corrupt. And it twists your mind. To saying. There's nothing wrong with that. Those people. That's just the way they were born. That's just the way things are.
[31:14] And that's okay. And I'm supposed to accept it. And you start to. Just live a worldly. Mindset. And lifestyle. And not realize. That sin has corrupted your mind.
[31:25] And you're being influenced by sinners. Rather than the word of God. Sin is. Sin will corrupt you. It has consequences. Another one. In 1 Corinthians 11. That describes.
[31:35] The communion supper. And it says. For this cause many. Are weak. And sickly among you. And many sleep. And so. Describing. A sin there. And not judging themselves.
[31:46] And cleaning themselves up. Getting right. It describes that. A consequence of sin. Is sickness. And weakness. As the Bible uses. And disease. And that doesn't mean.
[31:56] You get a cold. Because you sin. But. It does mean that. There are consequences. For sins. There are diseases. You can pick up. When you decide. To live a lifestyle. Of sin.
[32:07] Amen. You'll faint. You'll find out. And you want to. Suck on cigarettes. Or pour down. Alcohol. You're going to find out. Your body can't take it. And you die a young age.
[32:19] Or you get sick. And you have cancer. You have diseases. And it's a product. Of a lifestyle. That you should have just. Stayed away from. The whole time. There's. I mean. That's just. Easy. Cases to point out.
[32:31] But weakness. Or sickness. Disease. Those are all. Consequences of sin. As well. And then. The third one. And the big one. Is death. The wages of sin. Is death. In James.
[32:42] Sin. When it is finished. Bringeth forth death. Now look at. Ecclesiastes 7. A very. Very. Strong. Statement. To consider.
[32:53] Ecclesiastes 7. And verse 17. Be not over much wicked. Neither be thou foolish.
[33:04] Question. Why shouldest thou die. Before thy time. Why you want to cut your life short. By being involved with wickedness and sin.
[33:14] The Bible says that if we live after the flesh. Ye shall die. You can't get away. You can't get away from the truth.
[33:25] The book. You can't just. You can burn it or ignore it. You can't change the truth. We can do nothing against the truth. The Bible says. Sin has consequences. And maybe I didn't put my finger on a particular sin.
[33:37] In any of your hearts tonight. I'm not trying to. But at the very least. Let me remind you. And illuminate your. Your. Like God. The spirit of God. Or illuminate your minds. The saying. You can't mess with sin.
[33:49] You can't get away with what God says is unrighteousness. All unrighteousness is sin. God is still holy. And he's never once accepted sin. And he never will.
[34:01] Now I can't wait for the day that this is all done. Behind us. And just wiped clean. And we get to experience holiness. And a new body. And glorification.
[34:13] And being like Christ. And not having to deal with this. And not having to fight with this. And not having to be surrounded with it. If you're like me. And you watch this much news.
[34:26] You just. You get angry with this. Just this filthy mindset. Of mankind. And how they boast. What they. Their righteousness.
[34:36] Or you know. I'm helping this person. This is. It's so. It's so upside down. It's so wrong. You can't even. You couldn't sit down with a politician.
[34:47] And explain. How wrong they are. You'd have to flip them upside down. To get them to see things right. They're so backwards. It's like just. God.
[34:58] Even so. Come Lord Jesus. Just. Just get away from this junk. But until it does. Until God decides to let us out. Of this prison.
[35:09] Of this world. That lieth in wickedness. Until he does. We have to deal with sin. And it's our biggest problem. It's your biggest problem. You say.
[35:20] I. I used to live in sin. But. No. Today. It's your biggest problem. It still is. And one day. It won't be. And when that day comes.
[35:30] Then you'll have the hindsight. To say. Wow. What a difference. What a difference. It is to be pure. How much cleaner I am. And what I thought I was. Remember when we.
[35:41] When we were reading on Isaiah. And how he was pronouncing. In chapter five. Those six woes. And all these wickedness. And then he got to chapter seven. And he had the vision of God. And then he said.
[35:52] Woe is me. For I am undone. I am a man of unclean lips. And then he said. I dwell in most of people of unclean lips. He's like. I'm just like these guys down here. That's what.
[36:04] That's what the holiness of God will do. And that's the mess we're in. Even on a Wednesday night in church. That's the mess we're in. Sin is our biggest problem. Now there's a remedy for sin.
[36:14] It's the perfect son of God. The son of God. That shed his blood for our sin. The blood of Jesus Christ. His son cleanseth us from all sin. If we confess our sin.
[36:25] He's faithful and just. To forgive us our sin. And to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. God doesn't accept sin. But he will forgive it. And that's something to take with you to the grave.
[36:37] Is that God will forgive my sin. And I can go to him. And I can keep going to him. And I'm always. I'm always welcome. In his presence. To come before the throne of grace.
[36:50] And to get down. And just tell him what he knows. And to get it out in the open. And try to get it off of me. Get it under the blood. Sin has a lot.
[37:01] A lot to do with. With our everyday life. Whether we like to think it does or not. Or realize it or not. When it's all gone. Then you'll see clearly. And you'll see just how ugly this life was.
[37:12] Even though it's great to be saved. And it's great not to be. To have victory. Through the spirit of God. And the new man over sin of the flesh. Oh it's going to be different when we're freed.
[37:23] I guarantee it. I don't know if I could convey that thought to you tonight or not. If you're picking up on it. One day it's going to be amazing. So until then it's your greatest. Your biggest problem.
[37:34] And you're going to have to fight it. And maybe pray with me. Even so come Lord Jesus. And then we can be gone. Let's just bow together and pray. We'll be dismissed. Father.
[37:46] Lord I'd. I'm a sinner just like all of us here. God only because of the Lord Jesus Christ.
[37:57] Do I have the ability to come before you. I know that. I know that. In me. In my flesh. It dwells no clean thing. I know I'm vile.
[38:09] And Lord I know you call this body a vile body. And so Lord I fully. Openly accept. What you declare about me in the scripture. And I don't claim to be anything better.
[38:20] Lord I pray that you'd help us to see our sin. And see it exceeding sinful. In your eyes. Lord may we not pride ourselves. In being set apart from the world.
[38:32] And be different. Until we get ourselves into glory. And see what you truly want us to be. Then we can glory. In your presence. Lord today help us to.
[38:44] Humble ourselves. And help us to. To seek your face. And seek. A righteousness that our savior offers us. In the new man.
[38:56] God we do seriously long. To be. Absent from the body. To be present with the Lord. And to be in your presence. And apart from this flesh.
[39:08] And this world. Lord if we're going to be here. And you're going to keep us here. Then. I pray that you put some conviction in us. And some power in us. To live holy.
[39:18] And to live clean. And to do our best. And to fight. And to be different. And to show the world a difference. And to show our families a difference. And to show one another.
[39:29] That we love you. And may Jesus Christ be praised. Thank you for Bible Baptist Church. For those that are here. And Lord I pray that. This was edifying. I pray you grant safety. To those that are.
[39:40] On the road. Perhaps even now. Coming back from camp. And just. Just work that situation out. For your good. We love you Lord. You've been very good to us. Please give us safety as we go. We pray in Jesus name.
[39:51] Amen. Amen. Amen. So you're dismissed.
