[0:00] 2nd Corinthians chapter 5. You already got that on for me, brother? I think so. Yeah. Since I forgot how to use it, so...

[0:13] Funny. We good, Jake? All right. All right. It's good. Good to see you. Stay for second service. That's good. All right.

[0:25] 2nd Corinthians chapter 5, and look at verse 17. It says, Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature. All things are passed away.

[0:35] Behold, all things are become new. You know, I found myself saying, you know, a lot over the last couple of years.

[0:46] I found myself saying to people, which is the title of the message. The title of the message is, Being Christian. That's it. Real simple concept today.

[0:57] Being Christian. Being Christian. I find myself saying a lot to people that I've talked to, probably the last couple of years, you know. Was, just be Christian.

[1:09] I find myself saying. I give one guy, you know, he's talking to me about yelling at his kids. And, you know, I don't think it's right. I said, look. Just be Christian. Does that sound Christian to you?

[1:20] No. Okay. Stop it. Just be Christian. If you don't know what that is, you know, years ago, years ago, I had a saying.

[1:30] I used to always tell people is, well, what does the book say? They'd ask me a question. I said, well, what does it say? Well, I don't know. Well, I don't know. Let's find out. Right? I mean, because that's what we ought to want to know.

[1:41] We are Bible believers, lest I check. Right? There's something really that's significant about us in this church. We believe the King James Bible is the Word of God. And we are what you call Bible believers.

[1:54] Right? Because we believe the Bible is the Word of God. We don't believe in some translation, some original manuscript, something somewhere we can't get a hold of, we can't touch, that somebody calls the Word of God.

[2:06] We don't believe that. We believe we have the Word of God in our hand, and we can believe it, and we are Bible believers. Right? That's what we are. That's what's so significant about this church. That's what we are.

[2:18] That's what we are. But, so, the message is, if you get one thing today, just one thing, I just want you to get this one thing. Be Christian.

[2:32] Right? If you walk away with anything today, you think about anything during the week that I said, just think, be Christian. So, as the week goes on, and you think of things, and you do things, just say, are you being Christian?

[2:44] If you don't know what it is, you know, you can ask me, you can text me, I help you find something in the Bible that will help you associate that with whether it's being Christian or not. Because that's what we are to want.

[2:56] We are to want what the Bible says about being Christian. Amen. I want to look at a few things that being a Christian is, that you can look at and see if you're doing.

[3:09] You might want to write some of them down, just so, you know, I don't know, you know. Maybe your Christianity is in such a way that all day long you're thinking about how you are.

[3:20] That's great. And you have references, and Bible comes up, and you understand what it is. Because I talk to people all the time that don't know what a Christian is.

[3:32] They don't know what being Christian is. They think they know, you know. They're going to go feed the poor. They're going to go, you know, clothe the homeless.

[3:44] They're going to go, you know, so go do some good deed with somebody. Well, I understand all that, but you end up sending them to hell with a full belly and a warm blanket.

[3:56] I'm not against doing that stuff. But that's not necessarily what being Christian is. So we're just going to look at a few things that being, what is it?

[4:09] And by no means, you know, I want to clarify that I am not going to give you every point of what being Christian is today. I'm going to give you some.

[4:19] And then, you know, you find one. You know, you don't have to come up to me after and say, hey, man, you forgot this one. Or, you know, what about this? There'll be others, I'm sure. And I don't have time to do that much.

[4:32] So we're going to look at a few things that being Christian is. And like I said, the thing I mainly want you to take away, you can take some of the points and apply them. And that's great. But if you get one thing today.

[4:46] Be Christian. Be Christian. So the first thing I want to say about being Christian is you have to be a Christian. Right? I mean, if you're here this morning and you're not a Christian, you cannot be Christian.

[5:02] Does that make sense? Right? Because there's some things about, you know, the Bible says you must be born again. If you're here this morning and you don't have a birth certificate in heaven, then you are not born again.

[5:20] Right? Right? Your Bible calls it salvation. It says salvation is a free gift from God. And if you don't have that gift of salvation, you can't point to a time and a place in your life where you got it.

[5:34] You don't have it. You weren't born with it. It doesn't show up mysteriously. There has to be a time and a place in your life where you chose Christ.

[5:47] Not raised in religion. You know, you may not remember the date. You know, I'm October of 1981. There was some time right there in October. I can see it where I got up off my seat and I went down to the side of the room and I prayed and I asked God for the gift of salvation.

[6:03] I remember that. There was a time and a place where I got my name written down in heaven. Look, if there's not a time and a place that your name didn't get written down in heaven, he's not going to find it when he opens it.

[6:17] Right? Last chapter in the Bible, I think it is. They open the books. And one of those books he opens is the book of life. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life is not coming in.

[6:32] So make sure your name is written down in the book of life. If you're not positive about that, you don't understand everything about that. I'd be glad to help you see that and show it to you in the scriptures because that's where you want your answer from.

[6:47] So the first thing about being Christian is you have to be a Christian. The natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness unto him.

[6:58] Okay? So being a Christian would really help you in being one. Right? Yes. Being a Christian, if you're a Christian, being Christian ought to be something you want to do.

[7:16] It's really sad when you find a Christian that doesn't want to be one. There's something wrong with that. It ought not so to be. There's something wrong with that.

[7:28] I understand getting backslidden, but living in that state should not be normal. Something is wrong if being a Christian is not something a Christian wants to be.

[7:43] There's something wrong with that. I'm afraid a lot of what we do. I'm afraid a lot of what we do day in and day out is not Christian. Again, it's humanism and rationalism.

[7:57] It's humanism in the way of this is what I think a Christian should be. This is what I think. I'm a Christian. Surely what I think it should be, right? And then there's rationalism, which, you know, really, if you look at it this way, it's Christian.

[8:13] You just got to do the shell game right. You just got to shuffle it right. And all of a sudden, voila, it looks Christian. That's not how it works. That's not how it works. How would I define being Christian?

[8:29] Well, I've always heard it. I've always heard it said simply being Christlike. Right? Here you go. Be Christlike. Christ said you must be born again.

[8:41] That's where it starts. It starts with the new birth. The natural man is not going to be Christian because he's not. So the first thing I want to point out about being Christian is, does the Scripture prove it?

[8:55] Does the Scripture prove it? 1 Thessalonians chapter 5. 1 Thessalonians chapter 5. Jesus Christ calls himself the Word of God.

[9:10] He is the very Word that we believe. I got a brand new Bible here. goodness. You know, I wonder if the pages are as thick, but I know they are.

[9:24] 1 Thessalonians chapter 5 and verse 21. It says, prove all things. Hold fast.

[9:35] That which is good. You need to prove all things. How do you do that? You prove them with the Word of God. I'm sure you know when I say, does the Scripture prove it? You know, the idea that the Scripture proving a thing in the light of being Christian, I'm sure you could use 100 references.

[9:53] I'm hoping a verse came to your mind. You know, maybe there's Hebrews 4.12. The Word is quick and powerful and sharpening the two-edged sword. I don't know. The first verse that came to my mind when I was doing this message was Psalms 119.105.

[10:07] Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. I don't know what your Scripture is. Look, if you don't have one, then maybe, just maybe, the Scripture isn't your go-to to prove what's Christian.

[10:24] And if that's your case today, change that. You need to have the Scripture to prove what is Christian, right? Christian is God's thing.

[10:37] The way you prove what is Christian is by God. It's kind of like marriage, you know. People talk about marriage, and I talk to people, you know, lost people, and I try to explain to them, you know, marriage is God's thing.

[10:48] You do it His way or you're wasting your time. It's God's thing. You find out how God says to do it, and that's how you do it.

[10:59] You try to do it outside of that, and something happens and goes wrong. I'm sorry. There's a way to do it. You do it by the one who made it, right?

[11:09] That's, so, you know, the main thing I want you to see today is just be Christian. Be Christian. I know you probably heard, you probably heard it said, the Bible is our final authority for all matters of faith and practice.

[11:23] Anybody ever heard that? Now, I know that's old. I know that's old, you know. And we're getting away from the old past. I mean, this is fundamental. This is principle.

[11:34] This is very first law in your Christian life. The Bible is our final authority for all matters of faith and practice. And how much more so for a Bible-believing church?

[11:50] We say we believe it. Well, then, by all means, it ought to be what we know as that very first principle. The Bible is the final authority for all matters of faith and practice.

[12:04] If that's not something that resonates in your mind and you're not familiar with that, write it down somewhere. You want to carry that on. That's something we should be passing on in our Christianity.

[12:15] We should be passing that on to everybody. The Bible is our final authority. That's where we go. That's our go-to. If the preacher says one thing and the Bible says something different, he's wrong.

[12:29] If I tell you I'm wrong, the Bible is our final authority for all matters of faith and practice.

[12:41] I mean, that's something you ought to be able to say in your sleep. That's how paramount it is. That's something just, if I was in my sleep and somebody came in my room and said, hey, what did you say Sunday about that?

[12:53] I ought to be able to go, the Bible is the final authority for all matters of faith and practice. That's how ingrained it is. Hence, I say, one of my sayings that I say to people is, I say, read your Bible, read your Bible, read your Bible.

[13:09] Got a question about something? Read your Bible. Read the Bible. I mean, if you're not a reader, become one. I understand it. I wasn't a reader in school. I understand it.

[13:20] I was terrible in school. I cheated. I did everything I could to get around from reading something. And then later on in life, after I got saved, I became a reader because I realized that it was important.

[13:31] Something else, and I can't spend long on a point. I want to give you what's here. But so the Bible, you need to prove it by the word of God.

[13:42] Okay. That's one thing about being Christian ought to come from the scripture. Another thing about being Christian, is it the Lord's will? Is it the Lord's will?

[13:52] Now, this one is not as easy as the last one. You know, I mean, you have a Bible. That really makes it pretty easy. But is it the Lord's will now? That's a different story.

[14:03] You know, I've heard people tell me, you know, God told me to do this. What are you going to say? No, he didn't. They're convinced, you know. Then they go make a mess of it. And then they blame it on God, of course, because he told them to do it.

[14:17] Nice. So this one's not as easy. So, you know, the Bible does say, be not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. So we should understand the will of the Lord.

[14:29] And, you know, it's not something you just dial up. Yes, God, please show me a will. That would be great. But I'm going to say this.

[14:39] He's got a will for you. He's got a will for your life. And if you asked me, I would look at your life, and that's the opinion I would give you based on your life and based on what I know of the Scripture.

[14:52] Would I be right every time? Maybe not. But chances are somebody out here sees more about you than you do not seeing yourself.

[15:04] And I recommend people get a mirror. Look at yourself in the mirror. You know? Say it out loud, whatever it is you think it is. Go ahead. What does the Bible say in Proverbs?

[15:17] It says, as face answers to face, right? So the heart of man has to do with the water. And that's what you do. When you look in the water, face answers to face. So the heart of man to man.

[15:29] Your heart. Just spend some time on it. Clean that thing. Prep that thing. Search that thing. Is it the Lord's will?

[15:40] You know, I've heard the preacher, Pastor Dave. I remember when Pastor Dave would say, hey, if you're not doing what you know is the clear will of God, don't ask for more.

[15:52] You know, I want to know what the will of God is for my life. Well, let's look at the scripture and look at what's plain and clear about the will of God. You doing that? Well, you ain't even doing the easy stuff.

[16:03] And you want to know the more difficult. Right? How about, in everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. How thankful are you, Logan?

[16:16] Huh? Thankful. How thankful are you? In everything give thanks. Some things are hard to give thanks for. But that's what God said to do.

[16:29] That's what he said to do. In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God. Right? Being Christian, we're talking about being Christian. Being Christian is seeking the will of God for your life today.

[16:46] Every day. Right? We want to be in the will of God. What is the will of God for you today? Well, hopefully you know some real clear things in the scriptures that are the will of God that you should be doing every day.

[17:04] And, you know, Pastor Dave wasn't the only one who said it. You know, I've heard Dr. Ruckman talk about, you know, if you're not going on the light that you already have, don't ask for more light. Are you a Christian?

[17:19] Are you being like one? Being a Christian. Something else about being Christian. Is your prayer life ought to be, you ought to pray.

[17:36] That's Christian. Do you spend time in prayer? Take a look at yourself. When is your time for prayer? If I went around the room, some people do that around the room, you know, give me a testimony. When did you get saved?

[17:46] Where were you at? You know, where's your prayer time? I'm not going to do that. If I go around here and say, where's your prayer time? You know, oh, yeah, four o'clock in the morning at my kitchen table. I don't know. You know, what are you going to do if you don't have one?

[17:58] You say, ah, bah, bah, bah, bah. Right? So, when I say that, you answer it right now in your own mind. You know, because in everything, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your request be made known unto God.

[18:19] Right? 1 Thessalonians 5, 17. Pray without ceasing. You think he wants you to pray? Yeah, he does. That is Christian. That's Christian.

[18:32] Do you have a prayer list? If you don't, you, I don't know. I don't know how much praying you can possibly be doing. Praying, that's part of being Christian.

[18:51] We're talking about being Christian. You know, I got prayer list. I got people on the prayer list. I don't even know.

[19:01] I've never known them. I've been praying them for 20 years. I don't even know if they're alive. I got some preacher's name. Whenever I get a preacher's name, I usually put them on it. One that I know is a Bible believer, and he's trying to serve the Lord.

[19:16] I put his name down. I don't even know him. I don't even know where he is. I hear something, or I get a phone call, maybe even from a preacher. You know, I'm praying for you, or what can you tell me about this? What's your name?

[19:27] I put it down. I know there's a preacher somewhere, another preacher in our business, trying to please the Lord. You know, missionaries, same thing. I don't know of these missionaries. I go to a church. I look at their missionary board.

[19:38] I know they're Bible-believing Christians in their church, and I see that mission. I got to assume they're associated with us. I go over there, and I put their name down, add them to my missionary list. Are you praying?

[19:52] That's Christian. What's your time and a place for that? Where's your closet at? You know, praying is, praying is, I think Brother Justin might have mentioned it when tonight.

[20:04] It's our privilege. It's our privilege that God has told us to do. This isn't a privilege for the lost. They don't get to do this.

[20:16] They only get to come to Christ through this avenue. This is what God told you. Let your request be made known unto God. That's what he tells you. Ask me.

[20:30] We're talking about being Christian. If you don't have a time and a place, you spend some time in prayer, find you one this week. Start one this week. Maybe you had one before, and you got away from it.

[20:43] Get back to it. Okay? This is our privilege. This is something between us and God. God's up there going, I want you to pray.

[20:53] This is what I want from you. You know, I mean, I'm not going to tell you you have to pray an hour every day. But he, and that's what he told his disciples.

[21:07] Could you not watch me one hour? Just one. We're talking about being Christian. I was going to use a different example.

[21:26] I'm going to use this one instead. If your life, your living, came across a panel of judges, would being a Christian be one of the things they would say you are? So, you know, like in the Olympics, you know, they put the number up, you know, one through ten, right?

[21:40] I don't know if they do that anymore or not. I'm assuming they do. Maybe they just do good and bad now. Terrible. But it used to be, the saying used to go, if you were presented in a court of law, and they were going to try you for being a Christian, could they find enough evidence to try you and prove that you're a Christian?

[22:00] And I thought, oh, depending on what lawyer you get. These days, right? Right. These days, how we think is, it all depends on what lawyer you get. Right? O.J. Simpson.

[22:11] You're acquitted on murder, but man, you got to pay all the money because the civil suit. That's just oxymoron, dude. Bring him back to court if he's guilty. I don't know. Maybe you think he was not in the side.

[22:23] I don't know. But, you know, before a court of law, you boy, it's like, I'll bet you're off. It all depends on how good the lawyer is. He can convince anybody anything. But if you were before a panel of judges that knew what Christianity was, and all you did is walk across the room and they know your life.

[22:42] Okay. Richard Pfeffer is coming through and I walked through the room. I just walked through the room and they're looking at my thing. They already know my biography. They're looking at autobiography. How's that one? They're looking at that.

[22:53] And as I'm coming through there and I pass through there and they go like this. I go. Here's the number. What would it be? What would it be? We're talking about being Christian.

[23:09] How about the fourth thing? Being Christian. Does your light shine in it? Does your light shine in it? Being a Christian, the Bible says in Matthew chapter 5 verse 14.

[23:21] And I'm going to put a plug in here right now. I don't know if you memorize scripture or not. But I'm going to encourage you right now to memorize a verse a week. I've been doing that for.

[23:32] Now, I'm not saying I did it every week. There's some weeks I forgot. Oh, I didn't do it. But years for years. It's what we do on Wednesday night. Participate. Come over to verse. Ask for a song.

[23:44] It encourages you to memorize the verse. You do well. I'm not preaching a message on memorizing scripture. I read for another time. But memorize the scripture. Matthew chapter 5 verse 14 says, Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

[23:59] Okay. So being Christian, light shines in it. Does that make sense to anybody? How many say it makes sense? I want to make sure you hear. Did I put anybody to sleep? See anybody next to you that's asleep?

[24:11] Okay. Put anybody to sleep. But, um, so does your light shine in it? You know, um, when you're smoking, Christian light is not shining.

[24:23] Cigarette light is shining. That's not what you want. Right? I mean, that makes sense to me. When I, you don't want, you're not trying to shine the wrong light.

[24:34] You want to shine the right light. And that's the light of Jesus Christ. I'm not a light. I'm just a reflector. Right? The moon is the type of the church. The moon isn't light.

[24:44] You step on the moon. You walk on the moon. You're not glowing. It's a reflector. And that's what we are as a church. We reflect the light of Christ. It's nothing to me lighting. But I need to be reflecting the light of Christ.

[24:57] So, being Christian, light ought to be shining. Light ought to be shining.

[25:12] What kind of light are you shining? What kind of light are you shining? You're shining something. Man looks on the outward appearance. You know, and I mentioned before about looking in the mirror.

[25:24] Look in the mirror. What kind of light? You may not be the brightest. But you should be shining. You should not be giving off darkness. 1 John chapter 1.

[25:39] 1 John chapter 1 and verse 5. It says, In him. Can anybody finish it? In him is no darkness at all.

[25:51] This is none. This is no darkness. So, being a Christian is not putting off darkness. That make sense? That make sense, right?

[26:02] So, if you find yourself putting off something opposite of light, stop it. All right? Just stop it. Being a Christian gives off light, not darkness.

[26:17] Not giving off light is not Christian. Real simple concept this morning. I just want you to take away one thing today. One thing, and that's be Christian.

[26:29] So, all day, all this week, I'm going to say it a thousand times, and I think it's going to be in there. If you remember one thing about me today, you're going to go, man, I was loud. Be Christian. Man, I didn't like the Sudi war.

[26:40] Be Christian. You know? I don't know. Number five is, is the world being reconciled?

[26:52] You know, I preach a message on the most importance. Faith, fear, and love is what I... No, it's not a verse that says, hey, man, these are the three most importants. It's just the three most importants I see in the Bible.

[27:06] But, is the world being reconciled? If you were looking at some of the greatest things, you know, one of the greatest commandments is love, right? Your greatest occupation down here is reconciling this world to Christ.

[27:23] That is yours and my job. That is, Brother Justin touched on that one tonight. Touched on the ministry of reconciliation. That is, this is an avenue that only you have, Christian.

[27:38] The lost can't do it. God ain't coming down here again to do it. But he wants it done. Right?

[27:49] Jesus said, he came to seek and to save that which was lost. He came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. He made it real clear. I think it's 1 Peter, he says he wills that none would perish, but that all would come to repentance.

[28:03] Huh? So, you know, he wants that. I think it's 1 Corinthians 5, I think the passage is. 2 Corinthians 5. 2 Corinthians 5, we already looked at it. I think Brother Justin looked at it one tonight.

[28:15] If you're not familiar with it, check it out. 2 Corinthians chapter 5 and verse 14 through 20 talks about that ministry of reconciliation. We are supposed to be reconciled to God.

[28:27] You understand. You understand that people are born lost. They're born in sin. They need their sin forgiven. They can't get to heaven without it.

[28:38] And we, we are entrusted. We are entrusted with the gospel to give it to them.

[28:48] Who have you given it to this week? This month? This year? Last year?

[29:01] The last five years? We have a responsibility to give the gospel and to shine that light.

[29:14] What are you doing? I think the least thing you could do, the least thing you could do is get a track out somewhere. Go grab some of them things off the rack. You're afraid to talk to somebody? Get unafraid.

[29:25] But that's a different story. At least grab one. If you can't give it to somebody, put it somewhere. Roll it up in the roll of toilet paper somewhere. Somebody will get to it.

[29:39] Serious. I've heard that before. Put it on a mailbox. Not in the mailbox. That's illegal anymore without a stamp. But you can fold it, stick it on the flag.

[29:52] Give somebody a track. You go through the grocery store, right? They're ringing up your groceries. You're never going to see this person again, probably. It's okay. Yeah. Leave it with a tip.

[30:04] You know, when you leave a good enough tip at a restaurant. You leave no tip. Maybe not. It is our thing.

[30:16] This is being Christian. It's our responsibility. It's our greatest occupation. God put this in our court.

[30:28] How much of it's being done amongst us? And I don't know about you, but I see it in me.

[30:38] I see this lukewarm Christianity prevailing over my life. That I don't like. And I've got to keep it in front of me. I've got to keep it in front of me.

[30:49] I look back and I go, where were you at 10 years ago? What were you doing 10 years ago? What are you doing now? Are you telling anybody? Are you being Christian?

[31:03] I mean, if you're not a Christian, then you need to become a Christian. But if you are a Christian, are you being Christian? What are you doing in this area of reconciliation?

[31:15] Do something. Do something. If you're not doing anything this week, start doing something. Do something small. But do something. We're talking about being Christian.

[31:28] Paul said, I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. That's what we're looking for. Somebody has to plant water. That would be you and me. God gives you increase.

[31:40] Jesus talked about the field being white in the harvest 2,000 years ago. He talked about laborers in the vineyard. He talked about the field being the world.

[31:50] What are you doing? What are you doing in that field? Are you working in the field? Are you idle? Are you playing? Are you sleeping?

[32:04] What are you doing? What are you doing in the field? Something else. Being Christian. Is Jesus Christ pleased in it? Right? Brother Justin mentioned that verse about being about all things are for his pleasure.

[32:17] Revelation chapter 4 verse 11. All things in his creation are for his pleasure. That means you and me. Right? Thou hast created all things and for thy pleasure they are in the way created.

[32:30] That's you and me. Are we pleasing and glorifying God? 1 Corinthians chapter 10. Look at 1 Corinthians chapter 10. 1 Corinthians chapter 10 and verse 31.

[32:44] It says. Whether therefore you eat or drink or whatsoever you do, do all to the glory of God. And I got this message I want to preach on.

[32:55] Seeing the big picture. You know the big picture? The big picture. Every single thing you do in your life affects someone.

[33:07] Think about that. Think about that. Everything you do affects someone. Think about that.

[33:17] the big picture. The big picture is it affected that person. Say for this. Well you know what? They moved on and they affected that person for that.

[33:28] And that person affected that person for that. And that person affected. You didn't think it was anything. It really wasn't much. They didn't think it was much. They didn't think it was much.

[33:39] They didn't think it was much. But it did. But it did. That's the big picture. The big picture is everything you do. I think about things I allow in my Christian life I think about things that I do how I present myself how I talk to people people that see it how does it affect them in the realm of being Christian scary scary we ought to be pleasing and glorifying God look at James chapter 3 James chapter 3 James chapter 3 James chapter 3 and I'm wrapping it up you know because it's 11 o'clock I mean we go to 11.15 but at least you are encouraged that I'm watching the clock right?

[34:36] seriously, right? alright James chapter 3 hey look if I don't get all the points done it's okay the main point is what?

[34:47] be Christian that's all we got to put some meat on the bones James chapter 3 and start in verse 9 it says therewith bless we God even the Father and therewith curse we men which are made after the similitude of God out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing my brethren these things ought not so to be doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter that's a question doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter does it?

[35:19] no! it doesn't right? swamp water is swamp water it's not ocean water ocean water is not fresh water I think right? I'm looking at Russ because Russ will correct me you know he knows all this stuff can a fig tree my brethren bear olive berries?

[35:37] duh right? either a vine right? so the point is in nature you get the idea but for some reason we think in our Christian life it doesn't have to be that way so today I please God tomorrow it doesn't matter I'm going to cuss at work really?

[35:54] really? I get guys that tell me that I can cuss at work man that's you know it's a job thing whoa whoa time out you're a Christian?

[36:04] yeah but you know at work this is what what? no that's not what we do you need to learn what being a Christian is be Christian everywhere right?

[36:18] you agree with that right? be Christian right? if you're a Christian you'd be Christian how you do that? five are you a Christian here today?

[36:31] are you being one? something else what does love have to do with it? what does love have to do with it? everything right? you know why that is?

[36:42] because God is right? so you know love's got something to do with it so if you're being Christian idea doesn't present the love of Christ it ain't it's got to have love right?

[37:02] so make sure that your idea of being Christian has the love of Christ shredding abroad amen? amen love must be involved in being a Christian God is love something else is it edifying?

[37:25] I'm moving fast yeah I know the clock is it edifying? so being Christian edifies you know I looked at that you can do this but you look at the first four verses in your concordance look at the first four verses that come up in the concordance they were really good Romans 14 9 said follow after the things which edify that was good 1 Corinthians 10 23 was the next verse said but all things edify not that was good I mean it was preaching its own message to me 1 Corinthians 14 5 that the church may receive edifying oh man that's good this is good this is a message in itself you can preach a message just by those the concordance 1 Corinthians 14 12 it says seek that you may excel to the edifying of the church there you go only the four verses edification that's being Christian is us edifying is what you're doing edifying I don't even know what the opposite word is anybody got an opposite or is it whatever that word is are you edifying seek that you may excel to the edifying of the church are you seeking that you may excel to the edifying of the people here hopefully you are that takes a lot of not thinking about myself are you being Christian are you being Christian number 9 it had to do with being having a proper estimation of self you need to have a proper estimation of self you know

[38:58] I'm not just a rotten dirt bag I'm just a rotten dirt bag oh man I agree you are a rotten dirt bag what I'm just agreeing with you I'm just trying to be you know edified they don't really believe it you know or they think they're Mr. Christian proper estimation of self the Bible says examine yourselves whether you be in the faith you would do well to examine yourself in the light of the word of God we're talking about being Christian are you a Christian if you're not a Christian here today look you may not like me and how I preach and all that other stuff find somebody you can talk to today that will show you how how to become a Christian because that's the first thing you need you want to you need to become a Christian you want to go to heaven when you die I talked to a guy this week he saw this sign that hangs up in my office this guy one half in hell and one half in heaven he goes I sure don't want to go there I said I want to talk to you about that there were some other people there so I didn't

[39:58] I didn't pin him right there but I told him I want to talk oh you do well I'm I'm thinking I'm going with the big guy upstairs yeah really okay well definitely we definitely have a talk I'm sure I'm pretty sure he's lost be a Christian okay and whatever you do this week just be thinking about that be thinking about being a Christian look at the word of God find out if it's being a Christian if you don't know when you can't find it in the word of God talk to some people that are a little more familiar maybe with the Bible and we can help you to see whether it's Christian or not okay let's pray Father by all means being Christians we ought to we ought to be Christian help us Lord to understand what that is according to thy word and we looked at a few things this morning I'm sure there's plenty as we're in the last days wow it's pretty mixed up out there but we as Bible believers in a Bible living church by all means ought to be able to understand this concept of being Christian from the scripture help us Lord today in Jesus name

[41:24] Amen Amen that's улиx to下去
