[0:00] Go ahead, guys, young ones, young people, can take off, and the rest of us, let's get into the Word of God this morning.

[0:13] In Matthew chapter 24, we'll begin a new chapter, going verse by verse through our study of the Gospel of Matthew. And we've made our way all the way up to chapter 24, and things are going to change or transition this morning, and the content in the next two chapters are going to be highly prophetical, and then it's going to transition into the death and the events surrounding the crucifixion as the Gospel comes to an end.

[0:53] So we just came off this gazing blast of the Pharisees in chapter 23, and it was building up to that from the previous chapters and some of their questioning of Jesus Christ and challenging His authority.

[1:10] And before we get into the next chapter, I'm going to just brush you up on something. Come back to chapter 6. Just go look at chapter 6 in one hand, because we came into chapter 22, where they were coming at Him at all different angles and challenging Him, and He put all of their challenges to rest, and He silenced His critics.

[1:33] And then He turned and gave them some parables and some things. Actually, that was a little before that, but then He gave them a question that they couldn't answer, and then turned to the multitude and just let them know what these Pharisees really were.

[1:49] They've been told all their lives to do what they're told and to follow what these holy men say, and they dress a certain way, they act a certain way, they're more devoted than anybody.

[2:00] And I want to remind you something about them, because Christ had a specific word that He used over and over and over and over and over and over and over again in chapter 23 about these men.

[2:11] Does anybody remember what that one particular word was? Hypocrites. He kept, I mean, I'm not going to take you through it again, but you can look every other verse for a while and then skip a few and you'll see it again.

[2:23] He just continues to lay it on them. Now, I want to remind you back in chapter 6, when He was dealing with a few things about teaching them about their giving, teaching them about praying, teaching them about fasting, He used a group of people as a what not to do.

[2:41] And so look at chapter, I'll just begin in verse 1 of chapter 6. Take heed that you do not your alms before men to be seen of them, otherwise you have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. Therefore, when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee as the hypocrites do in the synagogues.

[2:59] Who do you think He's talking about? He's talking about the same group. They're in the synagogues. They're in the streets that they may have the glory of men. And then He says this, verily I say unto you, they have their reward.

[3:12] And then He gives them instructions about how to give and to do it in secret and God will reward you openly. But don't do it openly so that you get the reward and the praise of men. And then He does the same thing in verse 5.

[3:24] When thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are. For they love to pray, standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men.

[3:35] Same result. Verily I say unto you, they have their reward. And the same thing's true of the fasting. So come back to where we want to be in Matthew 24. So I want to remind you that those Pharisees, those hypocrites, He's calling them out and they deserve it because they're so outward.

[3:52] They're all about show. And when it looks good, it doesn't mean it's coming from a clean heart. And He addresses that as well in the chapter. So coming off of that now, He says this to close chapter 23, verse 39.

[4:07] I say unto you, ye shall not see me henceforth till ye shall say, blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord. He's talking about the temple in verse 38. Your house is left unto you desolate.

[4:17] And so I'm out of here and I'm not coming back until the future. Until there's a fulfillment of a prophecy about the Messiah coming to His temple. And so this prophetic thing that God has with Jesus Christ and offering in the kingdom is going to be put on pause here.

[4:38] And this whole, when He offered to them religiously to the nation, I'm not going to be back for a while, boys. So then moving into chapter 24, let's just see if we can get into this and see how far we get.

[4:51] But Jesus went out and departed from the temple, just like He said. And His disciples came to Him for to show Him the buildings of the temple. Now, history says that at this time, that we're not looking at the temple that was built with Zerubbabel and Ezra and Nehemiah's time when they came back and they built that small little temple that the ancient men were crying with a loud voice and mourning saying, this is nothing.

[5:21] This is insignificant compared to what we had. History says that at the time of Christ, before Him and even after Him, there was a major construction going on of the temple and buildings of the temple.

[5:33] So it was no longer just this little thing, but it was getting back to not necessarily Solomon level, but it was getting there. It was quite a, it was under the Roman authority that building this thing up.

[5:45] And so if that's the case, then they're showing Him not only the temple, they're showing Him the buildings of the temple and it seems as though they're impressed by it. And it must have been an impressive sight for that matter for them to talk about it.

[5:58] And in verse 2, Jesus said unto them, see ye not all these things? Verily I say unto you, there shall not be left here one stone upon another that shall not be thrown down.

[6:10] Now they don't want to hear that. This is a big deal. This is the capital city and this is the main focus of that city. It's not just a church or a cathedral.

[6:22] This is the temple and the buildings of it. And it's a, it's a complete campus, if you will. And this is the, this is where they made their pilgrimages to at certain times of the year.

[6:32] There's certain feasts of the Lord that must be kept. Jews from all over the nation came to Jerusalem to come to the temple. And so this is a bustling place. It's a big place and it's, it's city like kind of life and scene and environment.

[6:48] And surely there's vendors all over the place and people making money and selling food. And even in the temple, they're exchanging and selling animals, as you know. So it's a big scene and they're impressed by it.

[7:01] And they think this is great. And Christ is letting them know, no, this isn't great at all. Matter of fact, I just told you I'm, it's desolate. You're looking at an empty shell of nothing because God's not there.

[7:14] It's just the work of man right now is what they're looking at. And there's a lot of beautiful works of men around here. And it sure is attractive to people. But if God's not there, stay away.

[7:26] So it's going to get thrown down, he said. And, and then when Titus came in, in, in 70 AD, the, it said, I wasn't there, so I don't know.

[7:38] But it's said that they, that they took every stone. And the reason being, this is, I don't know if this is purely perfect history here.

[7:48] But that the gold of the temple was, that they set the thing on fire. That one soldier, they said it was a drunken soldier that set the thing on fire. And when it burned and the gold melted and ran down through the cracks of the stone and the rocks, that they literally took each one apart to salvage all the gold.

[8:05] And so that could be the actual literal fulfillment of what Jesus Christ was saying there. But one thing to take note of is what he said there took place, literally took place, that there was not one stone upon another.

[8:21] So there's no reason to go through the rest of the chapter, as some people do, and say, well, that's not literal. That's just figurative. Because it starts off with a literal prophecy that was literally fulfilled to the T.

[8:32] And so as we go forward and read about some of these things about abominations and the Son of Man coming and signs of the end times, they're going to be literal, absolutely.

[8:43] It's not some figurative thing that we try to associate with something that we heard of and try to merge with something in history. These things are going to take place. All right, moving forward then. Verse number three.

[8:55] And he sat upon the Mount of Olives. So he's not in Jerusalem anymore. He makes his way down the valley and up the other side to Mount of Olives, where I don't know the elevation of the two, Jerusalem versus the Mount of Olives, but I know that I believe from the one you can look across and see the other.

[9:12] And as he sat upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when should these things be? And, second question, what should be the sign of thy coming of the end of the world?

[9:25] Now, some people see three questions here, and they break down the sign of thy coming and then suggest that there's a sign of the end of the world. I'm going to handle it like it's two.

[9:36] I think that's all it is. It's two questions here. They're asking when and what. Tell us, when shall these things be? Speaking of the destruction of the temple. And what shall be the sign of thy coming of the end of the world?

[9:49] Now, it's fair of them to ask this question about the temple being destroyed and of his return, the second coming of Christ. How do they know that he's coming? I just read it in verse 39 of chapter 23.

[10:02] Till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord. That's his return. You're not going to see me until... And he's talking about they understood that. They understood this. He's coming back to this place.

[10:14] But when is that going to be? And they put the two things together and that's fine. Because in their minds and in God's layout and timetable of his plan or prophetic plan, there doesn't have to be a 2,000 year gap in it that we're living in and enjoying the grace of God.

[10:34] That doesn't have to be part of his plan at this moment. And these two things can be right on top of each other. But as it plays out, there's a pause and there's a stoppage.

[10:45] And then in the future, this comes back to be. Now, moving into verse number four then. What's the answer to these questions?

[10:56] Now, before we answer anything or read it, understand that the chapters, these next two chapters, we are not going to be reading instructions for the church and how to operate or what to look for and what to be aware of.

[11:10] This is not written as instructions for Christians in this age. He is answering his 12 disciples privately in verse 3. And he's sitting upon a significant place, the Mount of Olives.

[11:23] If you know your Bible, in Zechariah 14, that's where he's going to touch down, the Mount of Olives, when he comes back. And he's going to be on that mount and it's going to cleave in the midst and he's going to make a great valley.

[11:35] And that place where he's sitting is no small choice of place to be seated as he's describing these things taking place in the future.

[11:46] Now, this answer of his question, they ask him, goes two chapters and he goes into some kind of parable form in chapter 25. But you'll see how these just go all together.

[11:59] Verse 3, they ask this question, when shall these things be? And notice this, what shall be the sign? What shall be the sign of thy coming? Look at 1 Corinthians 1.

[12:13] Keep your place, but just go to 1 Corinthians 1 so we understand something clearly. Paul tells the church that we walk by faith and not by sight.

[12:26] And we're never told to look for signs. We're never told to trust signs and to look for somebody that can perform a wonder or a sign. It's the devil or the Antichrist that shows up exercising powers, signs and wonders.

[12:42] It's the apostles of the Lord that in the early times as they ministered to the Jews in Israel that had signs. But we're not told to look for them. Verse number 22 of 1 Corinthians 1, just get this as a principle that you know and understand, for the Jews require a sign.

[13:02] The Jews require, it started with Moses, all the way to the beginning of that nation. How will they know that I'm sent to them? Well, do this sign, do this, and they'll know that this is me doing it, God says.

[13:14] So the Jews require a sign. They've been trained to look for a sign, to receive a sign, to know it's from God. And so they ask Jesus Christ, what's the sign?

[13:25] Back in Matthew 24, and he answers them. Come to verse, look at verse 30. Verse 30 says, And then shall appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven.

[13:41] And then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. This is not the rapture of the church, and we'll cover that clearer as we go through.

[13:54] But that is a sign. We're not looking for a sign. Matthew 24, What shall be the sign of thy coming? Well, the sign's going to be when he returns, and there's going to be a whole lot of stuff going on and associated with that.

[14:10] There's a caution. Look at verse 24 of Matthew 24. For there shall arise false Christs and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders, insomuch that if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

[14:27] So even as they ask for a sign, he warns them, you better be careful, because they're going to show up showing some signs and wonders that's going to try to deceive you. The sign of me is going to be me coming back with power.

[14:40] You're going to know it when it happens. Don't be led astray by somebody working some miracles and doing some healings, and I don't have time to go through some of those scriptures that teach this coming in the future.

[14:55] But matter of fact, in Revelation 13, that this beast gives power to a false prophet. A false prophet gives power to a man-made, constructed image that it should both speak and what's the other word I forget?

[15:13] It's going to come to life. But if that's not going to make the world think this is God, giving life to an image, like God did in Genesis 2, where he formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils, he formed some being out of the dust of the ground and then quickened it, and then in the future, the devil's going to have the power to do the same thing in the sight of the world, to say, I mean, they're going to believe that's God, but Christ is warning them, when you see signs and these wonders, you better be careful.

[15:44] There's going to be a false Christ and false prophets, and they're going to have powers. And Paul warned that as well in, I think it's 2 Corinthians, about Satan and his ministers and their powers.

[15:57] All right, Matthew 24, in verse number 3, this is something else I want to draw out before we really get going anywhere, is, what shall be the sign of thy coming? The sign of thy coming.

[16:09] Now, he said in verse 39 earlier that he's going to come. This word is without a doubt the theme of his answer. It is all over these next two chapters, and I don't want to wear you out, but at least let's just prove it.

[16:26] Look at verse 27. You can't miss it. Verse 27, For as the lightning cometh out of the east and shineth even under the west, so shall also the coming of the Son of Man be.

[16:39] Verse number 30, Then shall appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven, then shall the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

[16:51] That's two times in a few verses. That's just the beginning. Verse 37, As the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of Man be.

[17:01] Verse 39, They knew not till the flood came and took them all away, so shall also the coming of the Son of Man be. Verse 42, Therefore, for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.

[17:13] Verse 44, Therefore be also ready, for in such an hour as ye think not, the Son of Man cometh. Verse 46, Blessed is that servant whom his Lord, when he cometh, shall find so doing.

[17:28] Verse 48, the last two words, His coming. Verse 50, The Lord of that servant shall come. Verse, chapter 25, and verse 6, The bridegroom cometh, go ye out to meet him.

[17:42] Verse 13, the end of the verse, about the day nor the hour wherein the Son of Man cometh. Verse 19, The Lord of those servants cometh. And verse 27, At thy coming.

[17:58] Verse 31, chapter 25, when the Son of Man shall come in his glory. I feel like I missed one or two even. But anyway, there you go.

[18:10] They're just, these next two chapters is going to be an answer about his return. The second coming of Christ to the earth. He's coming as king of kings.

[18:22] He's coming to take over. There's going to be signs and wonders in heaven and there's going to be great destruction on earth. And this is not the appearing of Jesus Christ to the body of Christ to call them out.

[18:39] People get this idea. Look at chapter 24. They get this idea from this passage about Noah. And they get the idea because they don't study their Bibles thoroughly, number one.

[18:52] But then they see some wording that throws them off. Matthew 24 and verse 39, And knew not till the flood came and took them all away.

[19:04] So shall also be, and then verse 40, Then shall two be in a field, the one shall be taken, the other left. And they think, oh, rapture, he's pulling people out, but that's not it. And I've already taught you that once on a Wednesday night a while back.

[19:16] We'll get to it thoroughly as we get through there. That's talking about killing people. That word taken, and I'll prove it to you with the Bible, that they're dying. They're not being delivered.

[19:27] They're being killed. And then what follows is a bunch of carcasses and birds showing up. So you make the judgment. It's not too hard to figure out. So there's the theme of these next two chapters is the return of Christ, and they're asking for a sign.

[19:44] And so let's continue through. Verse number four. Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.

[19:55] The first thing out of his mouth when he wants to inform them about future events and his return is before I even talk about it, you better get your guard up and open your ears up.

[20:07] Don't let somebody trick you and deceive you into believing something. Why? For many shall come in my name saying, I am Christ and shall deceive many. So they'll be effective.

[20:19] Verse number 11 says, Many false prophets shall rise and shall deceive many. We already read verse 24 where they're going to have their signs and wonders and they're going to, if it were possible, deceive the very elect.

[20:33] So it's going to be a time of great deception. Paul, John, Peter, to name three of these New Testament epistles, writers, all three of them strongly warn against deception.

[20:49] They warn against preachers, false teachers, with their great and swelling words, with, they'll deceive the hearts of the simple. Peter writes an entire chapter about false prophets.

[21:02] Second Peter 2. Jude warns about it as well. These men all look to the future and are warning men about deception. And Satan's got that as his M.O., as a deceiver, a deceiver of the brethren.

[21:18] And so Christ is going to first thing to do is warn. This is a great, be a great message and a great study to look through this Bible about deception and about let no man deceive you.

[21:32] be not deceived. People deceive themselves about their sin. There's a whole list of things that we're deceived about and it's easy to be deceived and it's one of the worst things you can possibly be is deceived because it's not just being wrong about something, it's thinking you're right and then you can't be told differently because you know.

[21:52] Oh no, I know. And people say, oh I know what I felt or I experienced that. You're not going to talk me out of it with a Bible. I know. I grew up in church.

[22:02] I know. They're deceived. And Christ warns his disciples, his disciples, the men that had the powers of the world to come, the men that healed and cast out devils, he warns them about being deceived.

[22:15] So don't think that we're beyond deception in spiritual matters in any way. So many shall come in my name saying, I am Christ and shall deceive many.

[22:27] They're going to come in Christ's name. It wouldn't deceive too many people if they came in the name of some false prophet or teacher or in the name of their nation or kindred or some of these guys from the past, some of these rulers or dictators or folks that came on the scene and caught an uprising and got following and things like that.

[22:51] They're not coming in the name of Jesus Christ. I can tell you one that comes in the name of Christ is the Pope. And this is not my like insert of attack Catholicism here.

[23:02] That's just the truth. He stands up and claims to be a vicar of Jesus Christ. Not of Muhammad, not of Buddha, not of any other religion but of the Son of God.

[23:14] In the name of Christ he does all these things and makes these prayers and causes the world to believe and follow and worship him. And there's no doubt that there's a strong, strong connection to the end times and the satanic setup in that Roman Catholic church.

[23:30] There's no doubt in this Bible about that. So they come and say I am Christ and they deceive many. It's effective, it's widespread and it's going to be a theme or a mark of the age is deception.

[23:43] Religious deception. You might note it's the name of Christ. Now verse 6 says, Ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that ye be not troubled for all these things must come to pass but the end is not yet.

[24:00] There's more things associated here. Verse 7, Nation shall rise against nation, kingdom against kingdom and there shall be famines and pestilences and earthquakes in diverse places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.

[24:13] So there's a beginning and there's an end. In verse 6 he said the end is not yet. There's a beginning and there's an end. And the beginning of it is just worldwide chaos, wars, pestilences, famines, earthquakes.

[24:33] earthquakes. It's just trouble. It's going to need a savior. It's going to need a fixer. And when that fixer shows up on the scene and has all the answers and the power to fix things and the right words and the right ways for man to say this will work, we will follow you, we will worship you, it's going to fall right into the devil's plan here.

[24:56] Now for years, for years, all of my life and long before me, men have been attempting to take verses 6 and 7 and 8 and associate it with things of this, of history.

[25:12] They've always tried to make this a fulfillment that's already taking place or is taking place. I mean, back in the 70s, all these prophecy teachers in the 80s are just going nuts with whatever's going on in the Middle East and showing you, oh, that's a fulfillment of this verse in Ezra.

[25:29] And there's one in Isaiah and that one, that's a verse in Ezekiel and they're so excited when something takes place with Russia. Oh, look, it's a fulfillment of the scripture and did you hear how many earthquakes there were yesterday?

[25:42] Did you know that there's more famine on the earth today than there ever has been? I don't know if you've been hearing this stuff. If you ever listen, I've heard a guy just a year ago at a meeting preach a message trying to attach COVID to the beginning of sorrows and that was the whole message and it was sorry.

[25:59] I was thoroughly disappointed that he attempted to put us into that and I'm convinced that when this stuff takes place, it's going to, you're going to know it.

[26:13] This is not going to be speculating and it's not going to be, oh, that could work, oh, that might fit. It's going to be slap in front of your face, blinders off, fulfillment of scripture.

[26:31] Now look at verse 15. Here's something, we won't get to this today by any means, but notice this little phrase. When you therefore shall see with your eyes, see the abomination of desolation spoken by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place.

[26:43] Notice this phrase, whoso readeth, let him understand. That's not written to me. That's written to somebody who can see it happen and when they see it happen and they're reading about it in the scripture of truth, the lights come on, the blinders come off and they say, that's what's happening.

[27:04] That's exactly what he told would happen. They're not going to need somebody to say, did you, they're not going to be taking the little twisting things from some agreement or treaty that was signed 10 years ago and one that's signed by our president with that world leader and get all excited like this is a fulfillment of prophecy.

[27:26] They're just jumping the gun in my opinion. They're all jumping the gun trying to make Matthew 24 up today or current or upon us and I'm convinced that this is future, all future stuff and when we're gone and out of here and the thing just unravels you're going to know it.

[27:48] Come to Revelation quickly. We'll look at this just briefly. Look at Revelation 6. Revelation chapter 6 and we'll just pinpoint a few quick things here.

[28:05] In giving an account of the times of the end, the tribulation and some of the devastation, the destruction or the judgment, here's one thing that happens in chapter 6 and verse number 1.

[28:25] I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals and I heard as it were the noise of thunder one of the four beasts saying come and see and I saw and behold a white horse and he that sat on him had a bow and a crown was given unto him and he went forth conquering and to conquer and when he had opened the second seal I heard the second beast say come and see and there went out another horse that was red and power was given to him that sat there on to take peace from the earth that they should kill one another and there was given unto him a great sword.

[28:51] So we've got chaos on the planet conquering this is kingdoms against kingdoms and we've got murdering peace taken from the earth in verse 5 and 6 we've got a famine with the third seal a pair of balances in his hand in verse 5 and the description of how much three measures of barley is worth and that's way out of whack in the scale or in the balance so there's no doubt a famine in that time and that's just oh look it's Matthew 24 famines pestilences not COVID earthquakes diverse places I just want to take away this all these teachers that want to bring this to pass in our lifetime or have it taking place today and why do they do that?

[29:43] One reason is because they don't know how to rightly divide the word of truth and they don't know how to see God's end game and overall plan and see where they fit and don't fit they just see it all as just one narrative that is all has to match each other they have to take the church age and apply like all I've been teaching through this kingdom doctrine of Matthew they've never once made that connection or understood that that's for the future kingdom because Israel rejected their king and those that constitution of 5, 6 and 7 will come to pass and be into play in the future and so when he's going to talk about a tribulation time when he's going to talk about all these trials on earth they don't know that this is for the future time and aimed at Israel like look at verse 16 then let them which be in Judea what about people that are in Santa Clarita are they supposed to flee to the mountains too he's only given instructions to the

[30:45] Israel nation of Israel and you see this word elect show up several times in this chapter as well there's no need for us to try to merge the church into this scene because we're gone and I like to just do my best to get your mind in that arena and away from the church and us to try to because then you try to make application and anything you see is today because we believe Christ is coming soon for us so if that's the case and this is true then we have to be in this chapter right now that's why they have such trouble so I teach it's all future and no need to get all upset when you see that there's earthquakes like because man has technology now to catch the earthquakes and how many of them there are and they could make the argument if it's true I don't study it out I don't really have a need to that it's increasing either it's increasing because their technology is increased to catch it or it's increasing because it's going a certain direction but when this thing takes place you're going to know it you're definitely going to know it the earthquakes and things in diverse places the beginning of sorrows is going to be a real thing for the world it's going to be chaotic all right you know how chaotic things kind of felt with the coronavirus and the way everybody responded to it early on and how there was no toilet paper for anybody and I mean what was the worst that happened in all of this the absolute worst besides the sicknesses besides the deaths and the complications what's the worst that happened on a human level we got inconvenienced and yeah people went nuts and there's no doubt that it's just a setting up a staging for the future you can sense that believing your Bible and knowing what God's going to have for the end but there's no need to feel like we're in that this pandemic is the beginning of sorrows and we are close to the coming of the son of man because the coronavirus broke loose on the world anyway

[33:04] I don't want to waste any more time let's move on if we can these are the beginning of sorrows verse 8 says the beginning verse number 9 then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted and shall kill you and you shall be hated of all nations for thy name's sake now the church and certain evangelical leaders so badly want to proclaim that that's the church and it's not that's Israel has there ever been a nation on the face of this planet that's been more hated no is the church you can't you can't compare the church to Israel just because there's some nations that they do persecute Christians and it's happening today it's happening worldwide it's true but it's not on the level of the hatred for the Jew and nor will be as it comes to pass in the future as this thing comes to a head when it comes to pass you'll see it maybe you won't but the world will see it how that nation they're going to attempt to exterminate it not so with the Christians so that is aimed at the Jew all of this is then shall they deliver you

[34:14] Jewish disciples to be afflicted and shall kill you he shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake we saw this earlier I want to remind you of this back in chapter 10 we're going to have to quit soon here come back to chapter 10 real quick and I pointed this out when Christ was commissioning his disciples and sending them out gave them powers and these powers were a sign of their abilities that God had associated with the kingdom the healings because disease doesn't belong in the kingdom and casting out devils and raising the dead all these things are signs of the kingdom and he gave his men power over this and as they went out he threw in this teaching and this warning that doesn't seem to fit at the time and I told you back then it's connected to the future to the tribulation come to verse 17 16 behold I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves be therefore wise as serpents and harmless as doves but beware of men for they will deliver you up to the councils and they will scourge you in the synagogues and you shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake for a testimony against them and the Gentiles so them are Jews that they are to worry about and verse 19 but when they deliver you up take no thought deliver you up just like Christ said deliver you up take no thought how or what you shall speak for it shall be given you in that same hour what you shall speak for it is not ye that speak but the spirit of your father which speaketh in you verse 21 and the brother shall deliver up the brother to death and the father the child and the children shall rise up against their parents and cause them to be put to death and ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake but he that endureth to the end shall be saved but when they persecute you in this city flee you into another for verily I say unto you ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel there it is till the son of man become this instruction back in chapter 10 is looking forward to this same stuff in chapter 24 to the return of Christ and to the tribulation he merges or places some warnings in chapter 10 with their sending them out which connect to this stuff in chapter 24 they're going to be offended in verse 10 and betray one another and shall hate one another now that's brother delivering up brother children turning their parents in and causing their very mother and father to be put to death this is worldwide deception this is thick this is somebody scared to death and captured and fearing for their life doing whatever they have to do to get off the hook turning in their parents who are probably trying to endure and overcome and hold out and they're telling them where they're hiding so that they don't have to get put to death and have their heads cut off when this stuff comes to pass the words are going to be jumping off the page at the reader when they see it happening for you and I today to try to make this applicable it's really tough and it's stretching it all the time so this is future stuff we'll get into it a little bit deeper then next week and try to tackle that phrase we read in chapter 10 which is in verse 13 and 14 talking about enduring unto the end and the end come and explain from the
