[0:00] a dozen of you or if it's 200 of you, it's good to sing. It's good to let it go. Don't be ashamed to sing. I know not everybody in here likes to hear their own voice. I understand that. That's the way God made some of us, a little more reserved or timid. But when it comes to singing, let it fly. Let it fly. All right. So let's go to Ezekiel. We're in Ezekiel 28.
[0:37] And while you're finding that spot, I want to take you to somewhere else just briefly before we jump into this again. Go to Hebrews 13 as well, please. Find Hebrews 13 and then we'll be in Ezekiel 28 shortly after that. So we began a few weeks ago a study of our adversary, the devil.
[1:02] And again, I'll reiterate a few things. One of them is that we are not looking to exalt him. We are not looking to overemphasize anything about him. The goal is to understand our adversary and what God has given and has revealed to us in the scriptures. I think we do well to be aware of it and to know what he's capable of and what he seeks to do. Remember, Paul said that we're not ignorant of his devices. And yet, if you're not in your Bible and don't study that book and love and know that book, you probably are ignorant of his devices and you're probably trapped by some of them as well.
[1:38] And so we want to study our adversary and it's a six-part study and we're not even through the first part after several weeks and that would be of his making. And what I want to do, we're going to start in Hebrews 13. I want to just throw out a little caution because some of the material that we've studied so far is not your average Sunday school lesson material. And you remember, I mean, some of it's maybe a little bit of conjecture or thought of the last week with the gold stuff and the precious stones and trying to understand that. But as we've uncovered some material and it's not your normal stuff, it's a little bit heavier, a little bit deeper, a little bit more into the scriptures. I don't want you to get too excited about that stuff and feel like, oh, this is the good stuff, pastor. This is what we want to study. And so look at Hebrews 13 and look at verse number nine. This is something I want us always to be concerned about. 13, 9, be not carried about with diverse and strange doctrines for it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace, not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.
[2:52] So while we do study and say some things that are intriguing and a little bit more on that side of mysterious or just stuff you haven't heard before, perhaps, I don't want you to get all tuned up and excited about that and feel like that's the good stuff there because that's not the good stuff.
[3:12] That's truth. And I believe some of it may, maybe like I've already said, not sure about some of this, just give you what I can, but I want you to enjoy it. I want you to be excited about it, but not consumed with it, not entangled in it and feel like this is where I'm going to spend my life digging and digging and digging and showing somebody something that they've never heard.
[3:34] And so that's not ever, that's not my motivation in this pulpit is to wow you. God help me. If I do, I'd be guilty if that was the case. But anyway, we're going to continue the study and it's, it's going to keep going a little bit further until we get out of this first section of his making.
[3:52] And then Lord willing, we'll start, if not today, next week on the second section, which would be his might or his power and ability. So here we are in, I'll come back to Ezekiel now, please.
[4:06] I just took it off mute. It's my fault. All right, back in Ezekiel now, we've looked through this passage a few times, so we're just going to look straight into verses 12 and 13. And we're dealing with this being that is the anointed cherub that covereth. In verse 12, son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus and say unto him, thus saith the Lord God, thou sealest up the sum full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. Thou has been in Eden, the garden of God. Every precious stone was like covering the sardius, the topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold. So we've gotten that far, right? We've, we've studied that he was covered and ordained or, or what's the word? Or, why can't I think of it? I want to say ornamented.
[5:05] He was, something in precious stones. Why is this such a hard word to say? I don't know. If I knew it. Which word? The one, okay. So he was covered in precious stones and his name was Lucifer, which means light bearer. He, or the bright one, the shining one. And so studying some things out of the anointed cherub that covereth, we've covered a lot of ground. I don't want to rehash all of that. But, uh, no doubt when it says that he was beautiful, he was perfect in beauty in verse 12. And later in verse 17, his heart was lifted up because of his beauty. Uh, there was something with that color and those stones and that light and, uh, being possibly covered in gold as we studied last week. Uh, something spectacular and, and you don't want to, you don't want to try to be him.
[6:03] You can't. So anyway, the fifth section of this study of the way God made this being, Lucifer, this anointed cherub is in the end of verse 13. And it says the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared. Notice the two words in thee, in the day that thou was created.
[6:28] So we're going to study today that this being faithfully finally was designed with built-in musical instruments. Now keep your place here and turn to one more spot. Turn to Isaiah 14.
[6:47] Isaiah 14. And this is the passage that we looked at the other week to see that his name is Lucifer.
[6:58] The only place it's mentioned. And in most Bibles, it's not mentioned most new versions. I should say if you've got a King James Bible, then you know, his name verse 12. So, but let's back up to verse 11 and notice this, the pot, thy pump is brought down to the grave and the noise of thy vials, that thy vials. And then in verse 12, how art thou fallen from heaven? Oh, Lucifer, thy vials, that's a musical instrument. Now putting these two passages, these two verses from Ezekiel 28 and Isaiah 14, together we've got tabrets, pipes, and vials.
[7:43] If we were to categorize musical instruments, we could do it into three categories. Pretty much, if I don't know of anything else, all musical instruments fall into one of the three categories.
[7:56] The tabrets, that's a percussion instrument. A percussion instrument is something that you beat. It doesn't have to be just a big drum, but drums are percussion instruments. And there's multiple tones and whatever else to drums. There's multiple drums. Things like the triangle, you've seen that, just anything that you're just popping, making a sound with, and generally keeping a tempo with, those are percussion instruments. So he has those. Tabrets, plural, that's in Ezekiel 28.
[8:27] The workmanship of thy tabrets. The second category is not percussion, but then wind instruments. And those are pipes. And it says plural, pipes. And any instrument that you blow into, or that wind moves through and creates the sound, or the pitch, like an organ, or a flute, or a trumpet, any kind of that brass section, the tubas, the horns, all of those things are wind instruments.
[9:01] And then the third category is stringed. A stringed instrument. And there we read in Isaiah the vials. And vials are a stringed instrument like a guitar, or a cello, or a harp. Even this piano has got strings inside. You can look down in there and see all the strings. And some argue that that's a stringed instrument, but then they'll argue that it's a percussion instrument because it's hammers, that you're striking keys. But generally that falls into the stringed instrument category. And so non-digital, of course. You can take a keyboard today, or even just a computer, and reproduce all of the sounds that are digitalized, digitized. But as far as handmade, real instruments, there's three categories.
[9:47] Now, I'm not suggesting, because I don't know. All I know is these three words, tabrets, pipes, vials. The pipes don't describe exactly the instrument. And the tabrets can be vague as well in some way or another.
[10:02] But we see a representation, at least in a plural form, of all three categories of musical instruments. And the thought comes to light is that Lucifer, in his being, was a mini or full orchestra, or capable of producing, not just sound, but full-on harmonic melodies and music. Now, that's just trying to extract some thought here and put it together and making some sense of it. He's been termed by many that he was heaven's choir director.
[10:36] I don't know if that's true. I don't know at all if he led the holy host in worship of God Almighty. I don't know if that's true, but he's believed to have done that based upon these passages.
[10:48] If you wonder about the quality of the sound, or of the instrument, or just of his being, for us, we look at an instrument, and well, it depends on the brand, and it depends on the cost, depends on, you know, the maker, if they know what they're doing, if it's a good one, or if it's a $100 guitar, or if it's a $2,000 guitar.
[11:09] If the violin today, I mean, some of them are worth like a million dollars. What are they called? The Stradivarius. Yeah, you can get these cheapos from the music store, or you can put your money there.
[11:22] So, that's what works for us. It depends on the make, the value of it. But, the Bible, I'm borrowing the term about the New Jerusalem, whose builder and maker is God, and consider that the instruments built into this being, whose builder and maker was God.
[11:42] Like, it's not a Martin guitar, or whatever brand you might like. It's God Almighty, His design. Notice, if you're in Ezekiel 28, look at the wording of the verse at the end.
[11:57] It says, the workmanship. That is God's hand, designing, and fitting, and making this being. The workmanship, God, of thy tabrets, and of thy pipes.
[12:12] And then it says, was prepared in thee. That's the hand of God, a second time referenced. In the day that thou was created, a third time. So, this is God's hand, creating this being.
[12:25] And remembering Colossians, all things were created by Him and for Him. And so, Lucifer was built with this. I can't picture it. So, maybe you're trying to.
[12:36] I can't. But, I'm just reading it and putting the material together. I can't picture what and even hear how this might, what he was capable of.
[12:47] But, this was the anointed cherub that covereth. And, this was the being that he was created to be for the Lord Jesus Christ. Now, let's make some application, if we can.
[12:58] And, understanding that Lucifer has this ability and wisdom and talent, if we want to call it that. He was created a musical being.
[13:10] That tells me he knows music. As in, God prepared him. He designed him to be musical. So, he gets it.
[13:21] I don't know that he was taught lessons from a youth up. It was instilled in him. It was imparted to him. He was designed and created to be that.
[13:33] And, he was that. So, he knows music. And, I believe when he fell, he took it with him. And, so, let's consider some of that, how this may actually apply to us today.
[13:46] This being. And, make some application about this, the making of Lucifer. So, he took music with him. And, I can't declare this biblically. So, just take it for what it's worth.
[13:58] But, as an attempt to be a spiritual man and to walk in the new man. And, to have my senses exercised by reason of use of these scriptures. I believe that there's a spirit that is associated with or that is behind the music that man produces and man puts out.
[14:19] I don't think, I don't want to, I don't give man credit for everything that I hear played over the sound systems of places. I'm not saying that the devil's doing it.
[14:30] I'm saying, well, we'll study this later. But, I'm saying there's a spirit behind the lost man that's producing that stuff. It's the music of this world.
[14:40] It seems to me that it differs by the genre, perhaps. Or, maybe it's not separate spirits. But, it just shows us the complexity and the wisdom of the God of this world.
[14:54] I truly don't know that I can credit man for everything that he comes up with. Why? Because it's too powerful. It's too addicting. It just touches the right chords inside of the human nature.
[15:07] It moves you. It grabs you. It controls you. You don't think it does? You'd probably be surprised if you did a little study. Or, if you read some of the reports from studies people have done with music.
[15:22] And, how it affects the minds and shapes minds. And, even corrupts and destroys the ability to remember things. Or, based on the genre, the style. It affects you.
[15:34] And, I think there's spiritual forces involved. And, I think I know who's the daddy of it all. Now, when you allow the world's music into your ear gate. It enters into your heart.
[15:45] It gets into your mind. And, as it filters through and it starts to do things. It affects your spirit. You can tell when there's a young person listening to the wrong music.
[15:55] You start to see it on their face. Or, you start to see it in their temperament. They're just different. They're letting something in and it's affecting them on the inside. They lose their joy or their innocence.
[16:08] Why? Because something is getting in. And, it's not just man. I'm telling you. I'm not trying to spook you out. I'm just showing you. There's somebody behind this.
[16:20] And, you know what? It's not just the world's music. It's in that sense of out there. It's true in churches today. When they bring the wrong music into the church.
[16:31] Consider this. It replaces for the Christian their appetite for the word of God. And, now they're just getting fed in a way.
[16:45] They're getting their needs met in a different manner. That's not the word of God. It's like they're getting candy. Instead of a home cooked meal. The music that's not right.
[16:57] And, it's not spiritually uplifting. And, exalting the Lord Jesus Christ. And, pure. That music fills the hearer with good feelings.
[17:08] And, it fills them with emotions. And, the word of God then just doesn't have an effect on them. Because, they get an appetite for that. They want the sensation. And, the hyped up jolt.
[17:22] That they can get from the music. And, they don't want to sit and listen. And, be hearers of the word. Much less doers. And, bring the wrong music in.
[17:33] It feeds the wrong meal. And, you get it from the music in churches. It satisfies the average Christian inside enough. That they feel good now.
[17:44] And, they're not getting the diet that they need. They're not getting the reproof. The rebuke. And, the instruction in righteousness. And, correction in all those things.
[17:55] When you bring the wrong music in. It has an effect. Absolutely. Music speaks. It's a universal language. Much like mathematics.
[18:07] And, those things go hand in hand by the way. It moves you. You can be moved by music. To worship the Lord Jesus Christ. In spirit and in truth.
[18:18] Music can move you that way. To love your Savior and Holy God. But, it can also stir up inside of you. Sinful passions.
[18:29] And, ungodly desires. That reside in your flesh. Music can stir those things up just the same. So, you better be careful what you listen to.
[18:40] The Bible says. To put off the old man with his deeds. And, you can't be bringing the world's music in. And, be obeying the scriptures at the same time.
[18:53] Now, when you walk in the new man. And, you discern between good and evil. I think you'll sense it. I think you'll perceive it. And, I'm not talking about see something floating.
[19:03] There's nothing to do with any of that. It has everything to do with whether it's agreeing with your spirit. Whether the spirit of God inside you is bearing witness. That this is of God. This is for God.
[19:14] This pleases God. Or, whether this grieves him. We're told to grieve not the Holy Spirit of God. We're told to quench not the spirit. And, ungodly music.
[19:25] The wrong music will do that. Absolutely. I think that. I believe there's a spirit that's driving the music. Or, the vehicle of music.
[19:36] And, the old man comes alive when the wrong music's around. Now, there's absolutely a spiritual connection to be realized. And, I'm not saying that because you sing happy birthday.
[19:46] That you're being led of the devil. I mean, that stuff is just, I don't know how to explain that. It's just a cultural means of relationships or, you know, events.
[19:59] That's nothing. But, don't be so simple about music and spiritually ignorant that you can't recognize that it's one of his devices. It's a big one.
[20:11] And, this passage ought to help us to realize why. Now, let's turn a few places here. Look at Psalm 23. I want to kind of take you a direction on some of this. In regards to the spiritual effect.
[20:26] Or, how it connects to the realm of spiritual things or beings. In Psalm 22.
[20:41] This is a great verse that we can apply and understand something about the Lord. And, about the right music. In verse number 3. The Bible says, But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.
[20:57] It seems as if God, when the praises of Israel, when they're coming to their God and worshiping him. And, singing and praising him. That he comes and gets in that.
[21:09] That he doesn't stay withdrawn. But, rather that he reveals or just, I'll show you a case in point. Look at 2 Chronicles 5.
[21:20] I'll give you two of them. 2 Chronicles, back to the left. Chapter 5. He calls God, by the title, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.
[21:43] Now, this is a special occasion. This is not every Sunday morning kind of stuff that we're going to be reading in 2 Chronicles. This is the dedication of the temple after Solomon builds this thing.
[21:55] And, they're sacrificing. They're praising God. And, the Lord is kind of taking up residence. But, I want to at least show you the connection that music plays in this time.
[22:07] In 2 Chronicles 5. And, it gives a description coming toward the end of the chapter of who's there. The Levites and the singers.
[22:18] And, the instruments they have in verse 12. And, then look at verse, verse. And, by the way, you'll see cymbals, psalteries, and trumpets in verse 12.
[22:29] Of all three categories that we described earlier. The percussion, wind, and stringed instruments. Verse 13. It says, It says, That's pretty exciting stuff.
[23:11] Look over at chapter 20. Here's a completely different scene. But, the music is coming up to the Lord. And, the Lord shows up. In 2 Chronicles 20.
[23:24] This time, they're going out to battle. And, they are outnumbered. And, look at verse 21.
[23:36] The king. Instead of putting his mightiest soldiers in the front lines. He did something else. In verse 21. When he had consulted with the people. He appointed singers. Unto the Lord.
[23:49] Can you imagine them? Can you imagine the enemy looking out there. And, like. What? They put their choir on the front line? This will be easy. Look at these sissy boys. All dressed pretty.
[24:01] Coming out here singing. What are you going to do? Kill us with music? Well. He appointed singers unto the Lord. That they should praise the beauty of holiness. By the way.
[24:12] It's manly to sing. Amen. Amen. It's manly to sing. To sing with all your voice and your being. Okay. The beauty of. They should praise the beauty of holiness.
[24:24] And as they went out before the army. There it is. Before the army. To. And to say. Praise the Lord. For his mercy endures forever. And when they began to sing and to praise. The Lord set ambushments against the children of Ammon.
[24:35] When? When they began to sing and to praise. The Lord shows up in that battle. At the end of it. They were smitten. In. God showed up and did something. Well. He inhabits the praises.
[24:46] He responds to the praises. He. His action and powers. Is. Invoked. If you'd say that. When the praises are right. And they're glorifying the Lord.
[24:57] Praising the Lord. Praising his mercy. It's in the beauty of holiness. You better mark that down in that verse. He's not going to show up if it's not holy. So. God.
[25:08] Is definitely moved. And. And shows himself to be. Intertwined. Or that's not the right word. But somehow connected to. The right music.
[25:19] And he moves. And he works. And he's. He's around. He's present. But do you think God's the only spirit. That inhabits music. You think he's the only one.
[25:30] You better understand. That the being that he created Lucifer to be. A lot of the scholars. I'll just flat out say it. They're dead wrong. And I'm going to prove it to you later on. About what they teach.
[25:40] About him as a being. Like. He can only be in one place at one time. He's only. Like. They think like a man. They think he's a man. They don't understand he's a spiritual being. And he's.
[25:51] He's capable of far more. Than us. Or probably anything else God created. But that's a whole other study for later. We will get to that. He. He. I believe.
[26:02] Like God. Has a spiritual connection. And interest. In music. He's a remarkable being. And he's all about the music. He was made with those qualities.
[26:14] And he's using them. But not for the Lord. Now. Come back to Exodus 32. This is something we looked at last week. For a moment. When we were looking at that face of the.
[26:25] Ox. Being the face of the cherub. And the. The face of the calf. In Revelation. And making those connections. Seeing that. Some golden calves. Pop up in the scripture.
[26:38] And here's the scene. Where that golden calf. Was molten. It was. Fashioned. With a graven tool.
[26:48] By Aaron. And. By the end of the chapter. It says. The Lord plagued the people. Because they made the calf. Which Aaron made. But at any rate.
[27:00] We'll come back to. What's going on. With the worship. Of this. Calf. In verse 17. Moses and. Joshua. Are going to come down.
[27:10] Off the mountain. In verse 17. When Joshua heard the noise. Of the people. As they shouted. He said unto Moses. There's noise of war. In the camp. So just pause there. What does the sound of war. What would that sound be.
[27:20] As he's approaching. Approaching from a distance. Hearing noise. It's. I don't know. It's probably several things. In some cases. There's drums. That are being beat. As the marching cadence.
[27:31] Goes on. To the war. There's also. The noise. Of a cry. Of a shrieking. Or a yelling. Or a. It's definitely. An.
[27:42] Enhanced sound. It's not calm. It's not peaceful. You could say that much. Yes. So verse 18. And he said. It's not the voice of them. That shout for mastery. Neither does the voice of them.
[27:53] That cry for being overcome. But the noise of them. That sing. Do I hear. So their singing. Sounded like war. And verse 19. It came to pass.
[28:04] As soon as he came down to camp. That he saw the calf. And the dancing. And Moses anger waxed hot. And so forth. So there's. A molten calf. Being worshipped.
[28:14] With music. With singing. With dancing. I can tell you. Who's not. In this. But there's a spirit. In there. I'll bet you that for sure.
[28:25] I'll bet you. There's a spirit. Driving them. To do things. That. God never. Taught. Never allowed. Maybe you could say. Well they learned it from Egypt.
[28:36] Perhaps. Some of that stuff. They saw. Or. Or are mimicking. There's a mixed multitude. There. But I'd be careful. About just putting it all. On man. I think there's something. Behind that. When that calf.
[28:47] Is getting worshipped. All of a sudden. There's a music. That they're. They're programmed. To just. Open up. This. Gate. All right. Go to one more.
[28:57] Look at Daniel chapter 3. Daniel chapter 3. In your Bible.
[29:10] This one. This one serves as a type of. Something that's yet to be fulfilled. In the future. With this king. Nebuchadnezzar. Because he makes an image of gold.
[29:23] Of all things. In verse 1. And he sets it up. In the plane. And so he's calling all of his people together. To come.
[29:34] For a dedication. Of the image. Now when you study your Bible. You see that man. Is led. Of the devil. In Revelation 13.
[29:44] To make an image. And that image is going to. We'll study this later as well. To. Have ability to speak. It's going to come to life.
[29:55] But there's an image. That's going to be set up in the future. That you're supposed to worship. And here. Back in Daniel's time. This pagan king. Nebuchadnezzar. Has this idea. I wonder where he got it from.
[30:05] To set up an image of gold. And to make everybody worship it. And when they're going to worship it. It's a very specific time. In verse 4. The herald cried aloud. To you as commanded.
[30:16] O people. Nations. And languages. That at what time. Ye hear the sound. Of the cornet. Flute. Harp. Saltry. Dulcimer. All kinds of music. Ye fall down.
[30:27] And worship. The golden image. That's. That's too big to miss. These connections. In scripture. That there's a golden image.
[30:37] And that the people are commanded. In this case. To fall down. And worship. And in the future. We won't go to it today. At any time. But. They're going to be falling down. And worshiping.
[30:48] And they're going to be taking a mark. And they're going to be worshiping. An image of a beast. Now. There's music. And there's no doubt. There's a satanic connection.
[30:59] To this stuff. And you don't want to be part of it. You better be careful. To what you listen to. Now. He's designed. With built in musical instruments. This is where we started.
[31:10] I want to wrap it up. With a little bit of an outline here. Of some things. And this is not. This is just kind of an outline. The terminology is not. Not exactly pulled from the scripture. But it's very close.
[31:22] The bible speaks of different songs. And I ran through. Did some study. And pulled out some things on this. And it could really probably go further. Than me just throwing it at you.
[31:32] But that's what we'll do for time this morning. The products of this world. They're songs. And then maybe even. We could look at some songs. Of the people of God. Now.
[31:43] The first one. In Isaiah 23. Don't bother turning. We'll just. I'll just throw them at you. In Isaiah 23. There's the song of harlots. The song of harlots. It's enticing music.
[31:53] It's luring music. Luring to fornication. From that passage. As far as I'm concerned. That sounds like the top ten. Or most of the top ten.
[32:04] In the world's markets. For the last 30 years. Is the song of harlots. It's using the lust of the flesh. And sex. And just dumping it out there.
[32:15] You can't. Back in the day. My day. When music videos. Were just coming on the scene. MTV. And BET. And then. CTV.
[32:26] Or whatever the other ones are. And they just. It just started to build. They were just. Little choreographed. Dumb looking dances. These guys would do. With their music videos. Today.
[32:38] It's not just the. Now it's the live. It's the whole thing. It's a. Filthy. Try to be careful what I say. Just carnal display. Of the lust of the flesh.
[32:48] Amen. I'm talking. You. You don't even want to see the stuff they're doing. The. The Grammys. Or the Oscars. Or whatever these dumb things are. Or the halftime shows.
[32:58] Or just any time the world gets an. Opportunity. To do it in front of a big stage. It just gets. Raunchier. And more vile. I mean.
[33:09] There's. It's worse. You. You could just. I wish. Somebody would put a little. Side by side by side. Of each decade. Of. Of what the. The dances.
[33:20] Of what the. What's acceptable. What's put out. For anybody to watch. It's not this late night stuff. Anyway. The song of harlots. It's all over music. In Isaiah 5.
[33:32] And in Psalm 69. There's the song of drunkards. And it's the song that says. Pity me. And. It's a song of misery. And of complaining. That one hasn't changed either.
[33:44] That's. That's in the top 10 too. The song of drunkards. It's just this. This woe is me. And. And everything's against me.
[33:54] And everything's wrong. And everybody. Misery loves company. And so let's sing about it. And people relate to it. It's the song of drunkards. In Ecclesiastes 7. There's the song of fools. And these are a rebellious.
[34:06] Group. That despise wisdom. And in the passage. They refuse the rebuke of the wise. They won't listen to wisdom. They're going to do it their way. They're rebels. They're rebels with the cause.
[34:19] That's all. That's still alive. In today's music. It always has been. Somebody's going to come on a scene. Some punk. That's just going to stir up. A generation. That.
[34:30] That's. Maybe not all. Hardcore about the song of harlots. Or the song of drunkards. But it's this. Just. Just rebel against my parents. Rebel against the system. Rebel against the man. It's.
[34:40] It's there. It's still there. And in Job 21. There's the song of the wealthy. And these in the passage. They say to God. Depart from us. They're comfortable. They're content.
[34:51] They have everything they need. And they sing about their pleasures. They sing about all the good times. And they're. They're very short sighted. In their. Their. Their. Doctrine.
[35:02] In their view of life. They sing about their. How good things are. So. Wrong page. There we go. Those are four songs.
[35:14] That I see. As far as categories. You could probably put almost. Everything. Into one of those four categories. Almost. If not. All of them. However. For the believer. There's the new song.
[35:26] In Psalm 40. And it's praise unto our God. It's the. It's the result of being delivered. From a horrible pit. And now comes a new song. To the Lord.
[35:37] It's a. Evidence of a relationship. With God. That didn't exist before. So. There's a new song. In the Bible. There's this term. The songs of the Lord. It's also.
[35:48] Called the songs of the temple. For the Jews. It's called the songs of Zion. There's also called the songs of deliverance. And the songs of praise and thanksgiving. All of these are being sung.
[35:58] Unto the Lord. In Ephesians 5. There's spiritual songs. And when you're filled with the spirit. You're making. You're singing. You're making melody.
[36:09] In your heart. To the Lord. They're called spiritual songs. Now. To close this time. And this. This section on. Music. And on this being. And what he's capable of.
[36:20] I'll just throw out a warning. To whom it may concern. Probably not to all of you. Maybe not to any of you. But if you're a musician. Or if you have musical ability. God gives some.
[36:32] This. And he gives some that. And some people. Are just sharp with numbers. Some are sharp. With. Or just. Chaotic with some things. But they're artistic. They can.
[36:42] They can see things. They can reproduce them. Some can sing. I don't understand how one person's voice. Can sound so much better. Not just different. Like better. Some people. Just can't even.
[36:53] They say they can't carry a tune. In a tune carrying bucket. They can't do it. And so be it. I don't understand why. We're all so different. In these ways. But if you're a musician.
[37:05] If you have musical. Or vocal abilities. You will be tempted. You'll be tempted. Or enticed. Or seduced.
[37:15] Into using that gift. And ability. In a way that is not. Giving glory. And pleasure to God. That's what. I won't be tempted. If I don't have the ability.
[37:26] You understand that. But you'll be tempted. If you have the ability. And I've seen it. And I've personally seen it. And some people that I've met. Know. That have some real skill. And their temptation.
[37:37] Is to take it. Somewhere. That God's not being glorified. And who gets glorified then? The people start to say. Look at him. He can really sing.
[37:48] He can really play. He got. He's really good. I want to have him to my church. And I want to. And it just builds up. To where that man or woman. Is starting to receive worship.
[38:00] Now the. The entertainers. Of our world. The superstars. They get worshiped. I mean. That. There's no question. That's.
[38:11] They absolutely get worshiped. Fans just. Dying to meet him. And loving all over him. And buying everything they have. And wearing their. Shirts. Or their names. Or just post.
[38:21] You know. All over him. They get glorified. And they get worshiped. But that's not what we're here for. And so be careful. If that's you. If it's any of you.
[38:32] Understand it. Maybe it's not even an area of music. Maybe you can apply this. In something that you are skilled at. You'll be tempted to use it. To glorify yourself. And to exalt yourself.
[38:42] And the Bible says. He that glorieth. Let him glory in the Lord. So let's let that warning. Just kind of close this section. Of this musical thought.
[38:53] So to. To. Rehash this whole couple weeks here. His making. The making of this being. He's a created being. He's created by Jesus Christ.
[39:03] He's created for Jesus Christ. He's not on par with Jesus Christ. It's not good versus evil. That's not even close to this scene. That. From heaven's perspective. That's not even it.
[39:15] The Lord already wrote the book. And we can read of his fate. So he's not equal with Jesus Christ at all. He's a created being. Created as the anointed. The anointed cherub.
[39:26] That covereth. We studied that. We studied his brightness. And his beauty. And color. And gold. And now. That he's a musical being as well. The next thing we'll study.
[39:37] Starting next Sunday. Lord willing. Is that he's powerful. And so let me show you one verse. To kick that off. And then we'll come back to it. Come to Job chapter one. And this will be it.
[39:52] For this morning. Job chapter one. Job chapter one. And. I'll just.
[40:17] We'll just read verse 12. And the Lord said unto Satan. Behold. All that he hath. Is in.
[40:28] The next two words. Thy power. Thy power. God speaking directly to Satan. All that he hath. Is in thy power. And so what we're going to study.
[40:40] Is. That power. And we'll study. It's going to go. It's going to be. Some stuff in here. He's no joke. At all.
[40:50] And he's nobody to be trifled with. And. I'll make some comments here. By way of introducing this. New section of study. That.
[41:02] Whether it's. Permitted power. Or. Those kind of thoughts. But as we get. Through this. You're going to see that he's got some ability. That God has.
[41:12] Made him to have. He gave him. He created him with power. I don't know. I don't know. If there's. Any limitations. In the physical realm.
[41:25] To his being. Maybe in the spiritual realm. Which is a whole nother thing. But in the physical realm. I don't know. That he. That there's anything off limits to him.
[41:35] Or that he cannot do. If God. Permits. But we'll study next week. There's a list of some things in this book. That he is capable of. And does.
[41:46] Or will do. And it's. It's phenomenal. And it can be scary. And we're not given the spirit of fear. But. We do need to understand.
[41:56] What we're dealing with. As our adversary. So next week. We'll start that next section. His might. All right. So let's take a ten minute or so break. And then come back. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
[42:06] Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
