[0:00] we are still on this fifth portion of the study of our adversary, the devil. And this is going longer than I ever anticipated from the very beginning of the study, but then considering this point itself, I did not imagine it would go this long.
[0:20] I hope it's not wearing you out, but the material has been enlightening and actually practical, really, in understanding the methods our adversary uses to oppose God.
[0:32] And we, as children of God, become, in essence, just pawns in the battle. He goes after us or seeks to cause us to fall and snares us into foolish and hurtful lusts because he doesn't want God to get any glory out of our life, not because he hates us or because you did something against him.
[0:56] It's because God kicked him out. God cast him down and destroyed him. And so now he's opposing any work of God and any will that God has. And it is God's will for you that you live.
[1:08] We already studied all these things, many things, that you live a thankful life. It's his will that you live a sanctified life. And so every point along the way, you can find the adversary trying to turn you aside from that life.
[1:26] Now, today we're studying perversion. We first, I guess, I don't know if I can recall these off the top of my head. I think this is the fourth method. The first one was deception.
[1:38] Then it was temptation. Then it was provocation. And here, perversion. And we studied a few things already that Satan perverts. The first we looked at was the words of God. And he perverts the words of God.
[1:51] Absolutely. And man, oftentimes, man today is clueless to this thing. And it was a blessing last night to talk to a brother that we, I told you there's a meeting down at Bible, or Bayview Baptist Church this weekend.
[2:06] And I've been going down every night enjoying the preaching and the fellowship. And afterwards, we were out at In-N-Out, of course. And so we're sitting there eating. And we got to talk to this fellow that he's only been saved for a handful of years.
[2:19] And he just described his, quote, unquote, journey of how he came to the Lord to understanding salvation, but then understanding the Word of God and the issue.
[2:30] And it was just from just naive ignorance, Googling something, looking for this or that, finding out that what he had on his phone, you know, he just downloaded the first app that popped up because he wanted to read the Bible.
[2:45] And whatever version it was, he had no idea. Just totally clueless to all of it. And then somewhere along the lines, realizing that this guy's reading something different, and this guy's reading something, is saying something different than what he has.
[2:57] And now he's confused, and now he wants to know. Actually, he came across a portion that had a note at the end. I was thinking it was the end of the book of Mark where it said these verses don't belong, or they're not in the best manuscripts.
[3:08] And now he's confused. Is this the Bible or not? What do I have? And so then he started researching. And it didn't take him long. And it wasn't because he's such a thorough researcher. It was because he found out that there's really only one group of people that stand up with a Bible in their hand and say, we believe this is the pure Word of God.
[3:26] Nobody else can do that on the planet. Nobody can do that and actually believe what they're saying. And he investigated it, and he found out they know what they're talking about.
[3:37] And anyway, it was a good time to talk to him. So anyway, our adversary perverts the Word of God, not necessarily against us as much as it is against God perhaps, but sure does create some confusion.
[3:49] Last week we really got into the second thought of perversion of the will of God for the home or for the family, what God instituted from the very beginning with Adam and Eve and telling them to be fruitful and multiply and how it's just alive and in your face today with what the devil's doing and his work against God's will there in perverting what God has established.
[4:15] Now today let's look at something else. And there's a list I could probably go forever. I mean, what is he not perverting? So not really my intention to just go down everything I can think of, but I'll give you a few that I feel stand out and can be practical to you and to the world.
[4:31] So the third thing I want to suggest and point out that he perverts is the gospel. The gospel. Now look at, oh man, that is not the right word.
[4:42] What did I tell you to go to? Yeah. Don't listen to me. Go to 2 Corinthians 11. We'll see how many times I do that today.
[5:03] 2 Corinthians 11, that's what I want. And notice in verse number 3 where the Bible says, But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your mind should be corrupted from what?
[5:16] From the simplicity that is in Christ. And then he talks about somebody that shows up preaching another Jesus or them receiving another spirit or another gospel.
[5:27] And so there's other gospels and other spirits and other Jesuses that are being proclaimed as the way. And it's a satanic movement to pervert the truth and to pervert the gospel.
[5:43] Now what does the majority of this planet, mankind, believe in regards to their soul and their creator? If they believe in a God and they believe that they're going to face him, and what do they think just almost innately, almost ingrained in their own being, what do they feel?
[6:02] They feel like, well, if I'm good enough. They feel like my good works can outweigh my bad. That is common sense to us, right? It does make sense. I mean, if we could set the Bible aside for a minute.
[6:13] Forgive me for saying that. Don't listen to me, number two. If we could just put that aside for the moment and think, that does make sense. That makes good sense. If you do good, you get rewarded.
[6:27] If you do bad, you get punished. And therefore, mankind just never goes to the truth or seeks the word of God and just assumes that makes sense to me.
[6:37] And the majority of religions promote that, so therefore, and they don't see it. That's a satanic, a devilish concept and a perversion of the truth.
[6:48] Man feels in their heart that if I give money, that'll relieve what I truly owe to God. If I give, I'll write a check and it'll all be fine.
[6:59] And that feels good to me. I've done a good thing. Man's been confused all this time, thinking that they can get dunked into water or sprinkled with water and that the word baptism is some holy and sacred thing.
[7:14] And therefore, that will wash their sins away. Wash away their inherited old sinful nature. And so they'll sprinkle their little babies, thinking and believing that this is cleansing them of their sin, their original sin.
[7:31] Show me that in the word of God. You can't do it. But the concept is all over society. The sacraments. Let's take or let's participate in the sacraments.
[7:44] These sacred individual certain things, whether it's seven or 50 of them, it doesn't matter. Let's do this. And that'll gain my acceptance with God. Let's speak with other tongues.
[7:58] Let's relish in the Holy Ghost and talk of all his works and miracles and actions. And if you have the Holy Ghost and you can prove it by doing something and showing me something supernatural, then I know you're saved.
[8:14] And now I put all my faith in what I see. And you put your faith in what you feel. And it's a perversion of the gospel. Let's keep the law. Let's keep it on every point.
[8:25] Let's keep the Sabbath. Because God gave the Sabbath. And God gave moral laws and he gave ceremonial laws. And the moral laws are eternal. And we're going to keep abiding by them and keep the Sabbath, keep the Sabbath. And if you worship on Sunday, because we found some deep little nugget in here, it's the mark of the beast.
[8:41] So sayeth certain cults in our society. That today we have received the mark of the beast by worshiping on Sunday. That's what they believe. It's not really taught from the pulpit too strongly.
[8:55] But when you get into their conferences, when you get into their classes, that's what they believe. It's a perversion of the gospel. Religion is a perversion of the gospel.
[9:05] That an angel spoke to a man named Joseph Smith. It's a perversion of the gospel. That the Jews are our enemies. Or that electricity is worldly.
[9:17] It's all perversion. You know what the gospel is? None of these things I'm just throwing out at you, one after another. None of them has anything to do with the gospel.
[9:28] Look back at 1 Corinthians chapter 15. Let the Bible speak about what the gospel is. Let it be declared. And that's the word Paul uses in chapter 15.
[9:40] He's going to declare the gospel. And he never mentions baptism. He never mentions electricity. Or electric cars.
[9:53] He never mentions good works. 1 Corinthians 15. And verse 1 he says, Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel, which I preached unto you, which also you have received, and wherein you stand by, which also ye are saved, if you keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless you've believed in vain.
[10:18] Verse 3. What did he deliver to them? I delivered unto you, first of all, that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins, according to the scriptures. And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day, according to the scriptures.
[10:32] And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve. And there is verification of his resurrection. It's documented history. And then where's the baptism, and the speaking in tongue?
[10:44] It's not here. It's not what he declared. So Paul says to them, he fears that they would be corrupted, that their minds would be corrupted, from the simplicity that is in Christ, the simplicity of the gospel.
[11:01] And mankind is corrupted. Look back at 1 Corinthians chapter 1. And Satan is doing that very thing, perverting the gospel. Just add one thing to it, and it's not the biblically declared, or defined gospel.
[11:19] And let's just consider this. What is gospel? He says, I declared unto you the gospel. Where did that word come from? You've heard it, many of you, much of your life.
[11:29] Even when you're lost, you may have heard this. You know, somebody says, they use it in other terms, or you'll hear it on TV. Casters say, well, it's not gospel, but he'll use it just to say, as if it's like the best version of something, the best, the truth.
[11:47] I'm not going to take the time, but you compare scripture with scripture, Paul inserts the word gospel, where the Old Testament, when he's quoting the Old Testament, he uses the terms glad tidings. What we say is good news.
[11:58] We say gospel means good news. It's kind of our modern day equivalent to glad tidings. And what does that mean? What I'm saying is gospel, the word gospel is a message.
[12:09] It is a proclamation. It is something good that is being preached. There's a gospel of the grace of God. In this Bible, there's a gospel of the kingdom.
[12:21] Those are two different things. That's a, you know what the Jehovah's Witnesses do? They see the word gospel, and they put both of those together, and they say, the gospel of the grace of God, and the gospel of the kingdom, are the same thing.
[12:32] So we are spreading the kingdom, about the good news of Jesus Christ, and they're totally lost. And they're deceived. Now, 1 Corinthians chapter 1, and notice that this is a message, that is being preached.
[12:47] Look at verse 17. For Christ sent me not to baptize, but, in contrast to the baptism, or that ordinance, but, to preach the gospel.
[12:57] Not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ, should be made of none effect. You say, what is the gospel? What is he preaching? Well, obviously in that verse, it's in connection to the cross of Christ.
[13:11] Verse 18 says, For the preaching of the cross, is to them that perish foolishness. So they reject it. But unto us which are saved, it is the power of God.
[13:23] Look down later at verse number 23. Paul says, For we preach, Christ crucified. Unto the Jews a stumbling block, and unto the Greeks foolishness.
[13:33] But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. Now, what is the point here? It's that the gospel is a message. It is a declaration of good news, of glad tidings.
[13:46] What's so good about Christ dying? Well, it's what we read earlier. Christ died for our sins. He paid the price for our sins. He satisfied the wrath of God, for our, my sins.
[14:00] That's great news, if I don't know how to get to heaven. And if I'm thinking I need to be good, and I need to give, and shell out as much as I can, just to hope he's happy. And then I find out, I don't have to pay for my sins.
[14:13] I don't have to figure this thing out at all. Christ died for my sins, and it satisfied the wrath of God. Yeah, that's good news. Amen. Amen.
[14:24] And so Satan perverts the gospel, and he causes men to believe their own heart, and to believe the, the well-dressed, supposed sacred and holy man, with the white robes on, and the man that gets up and flings, smoke around or water around, and, and speaks in another language, in Latin or something, it sounds holy.
[14:49] It sounds like it's reverent. It sounds above my head. But it's devilish. It's worldly, sensual, devilish. So that's a work of Satan.
[15:01] Pervert the gospel. Let's keep moving on. Come back to Isaiah, chapter 5. Remember what Paul said in 2 Corinthians, chapter 4.
[15:22] He said, He said, If our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost, and the God of this world hath blinded the minds. He's not blinding their eyes.
[15:33] He's not tripping their feet. He's blinding their minds. Their minds cannot and will not receive the good news. It's too simple. But it's good.
[15:45] It's good news. All right, Isaiah, chapter 5. I want to say something else that he perverts. It's standards. Standards. That is, defining and understanding what is right, and what is acceptable to God, for how you live your life today.
[16:02] A standard. Standards are good things. It's, they're kind of, they're overemphasized in some circles, therefore they're underemphasized in other circles, so that they don't look like that circle, and it's become a distorted mess.
[16:15] But a standard is a good thing, and it's a holy thing, and it's like building up a wall that will keep you away from the unclean. So build a wall. We ought to all have some walls built in our life, and in our heart, that say, I'm not going there.
[16:29] I'm not touching that. I'm not listening to that, because it's ungodly. It doesn't bring me closer to Christ. It doesn't edify my Savior, and some, most people that won't put the walls up, they'll say, there's nothing wrong with that, and they don't see how foolish they are, and how deceived in their mind they are, that they're just bringing it in, bringing it in, and it's molding and shaping, and forming their mind, their mentality, their mouth, and standards are good.
[16:55] Now look at Isaiah 5. I want to point out a verse here, that God pronounces a curse on somebody, with this statement of woe. In verse 20, He says, Woe unto them, that call evil good, and good evil, that put darkness for light, and light for darkness, that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter.
[17:18] Woe unto them, that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight, and the difference is, they're not wise in the word of God, in the scriptures, they're just going with what they think works, and makes sense to them.
[17:32] Think about the Garden of Eden for a moment, with Adam and Eve. What God warned them against, was going to be harmful to them, if they disobeyed. And so Satan showed up, and he contradicted, by saying, Thou shall not surely die, it's actually a very, very good thing for you.
[17:51] What God warned them against, and tried to put a wall up against, they said, No, this is great. It's going to make you wise, it's going to open your eyes, you'll be as gods. And Satan said, This is good.
[18:03] It's positive. It's helpful. But based on the results of it all, which we're going to study later this morning, it was evil. It was tremendously harmful, and consequential to them.
[18:16] The curse came, from God. Satan didn't tell them, if you eat it, God's going to curse. He says, Does that curse? Wouldn't that sound good, from the serpent? No. So Satan perverts standards.
[18:30] He perverts what's evil, calling it good. He perverts what's good, and calls it evil. And I think standards ought to be in your life.
[18:40] Standards ought to be up, according to the word of God, what the book says, what God warns against, get to know it, get familiar with it, believe it. And even if others are ignoring it, take it to heart yourself, and say, I don't want to fall.
[18:53] Take heed, lest you fall. Well, standards will keep you safe. They'll keep you from getting into unholy ground. We studied in Sunday school, some months back, convictions.
[19:05] And I don't know how long ago that was, but the whole study was trying to get you to see, there's different kinds of convictions, and some of them are just, God dealing with your heart personally, and not everybody else.
[19:15] And it's your job, to discern what the Lord is showing you. Why is God deal differently with different men? Because you're different than one another. And because you don't, you see the world differently, you have different lusts inside of you, or thoughts, or you're depraved in a different way than another person.
[19:34] And a man and a woman are completely different. And a husband has issues here, and the wife looks at him and says, what's your problem? Why are you, that's not a problem to me. Okay, well, it is to me. So God deals with me about not going there, or this or that.
[19:50] And he wouldn't deal with my wife, or even my children, or even you. And so, have some standards, have some convictions, they're good for you. Develop them from the word of God, and from a walk with God.
[20:04] It'll help you stay away from things that are going to harm you. When you don't have any convictions, you're in essence, just walking out into the world, and pretending I'm saved, I can take it, and just letting stuff in, and letting it come in your eyes, and your ears, and when it comes in, mine eye affecteth my heart, and out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh, and you can't hide it.
[20:28] What you let inside, starts to take over, and come outside, and the standard, that should have been set up, which you pretended, maybe didn't realize, that satanically, was being perverted in your mind, something that was evil, you began to say, it's okay.
[20:46] So, Satan perverts standards, your adversary, will use deception, deceiving your mind, to pervert standards. Now, I want to take you to another side of this, though.
[20:58] Go to Matthew 23. Matthew 23. Matthew 23.
[21:09] Matthew 23. The adversary will make, what's evil, or what's wrong, appear attractive, make it appear helpful, rather than harmful, and we need to exercise discernment, and be sober, and be vigilant, because your adversary, the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.
[21:33] Now, the other side of this thought, of the perversion of standards, I want to show you this. In Matthew 23, this is a scathing rebuke, of the Pharisees, by the Lord Jesus Christ.
[21:46] This is the same company, that in a very, very close timing to this, in John chapter 8, he said, ye are of your father, the devil, ye, and the lust of your father, ye will do.
[21:59] And he called them out, claiming that they're of the devil. Look at, verse 33, and look at a name, that he called them, and concord with, that statement in John 8.
[22:10] He said in verse 33, ye serpents, they understood fully, what he was saying, by the way. Ye generation, of vipers, they are of their father, the devil, the serpent.
[22:24] That's what he's telling them. How can you escape, the damnation of hell? Now, if that's not as straightforward, as you can get, in plain speech, from Jesus Christ, to these older men, these accomplished, devoted, sacred looking men, that everybody was afraid of, they feared and revered, and the young man, Jesus of Nazareth, is calling them devils, and saying, you're going to hell, you generation of vipers, you hypocrites, you're a guide, are you?
[22:56] You're a blind guide, you can't lead anybody, you're on your way, to hell yourself, you're making them, two full more, a child of hell, than yourselves. That was earlier, in the chapter, verse 13, 14, 15.
[23:10] Now, the Lord Jesus Christ, is ripping these guys, but what is the, what is the, trademark, of a Pharisee? It's their standards. It's their standard, it's setting the wall, so high up, that that's all you can see, when you look at them, is their wall, is their standards, it's their righteousness, it's, it's what they, love and boast.
[23:36] Look earlier, in this chapter, let me see a few places here, he, I don't want to go through, the whole thing, I don't have time for that, but he just, he picks them apart, one by one, for their dress, for their tithing, for their, their supposed, devotion, to the sacred things, like the temple, and the altar, and he just, one after another, is just picking apart, everything that they stand for, they've built standards, so high, and so large, and so many rules, that that's all anybody, knows them for, is their rules, and their regulations, their Pharisees, they've, they've made the Christian life, or their spiritual life, protocols, that they follow, and observe, and it's, it's overbearing, and it's complicated, and it is not, biblical Christianity, is the point, so what I'm showing you, and trying to suggest, is standards, ought to be there, godly, biblical standards,
[24:41] Satan will pervert them, and pretend that, what's evil is good, and what's good is evil, but at the same time, you get to the other side extreme, and Satan will be right there, in the religious sector, pushing, and pushing, and pushing standards, so high, that you can't even fulfill them, or reach them, and that's the frustrating part, of your life, is can't ever be good enough, let me tell you, what is true, you can't ever be good enough, go ahead, and have all the standards, in the world, you should have some, I'm not trying, I understand, I'm trying to put you, in the middle, from getting all screwed up, with the one side, versus building it so high, to the other side, which is a tendency, for some people, maybe somebody in here, your tendency, is to go, well if I can't be here, then I've got to go, way over here, as far as I can, to stay away, from what's way over there, and just, you'll, that's satanic, to see a young man, get fired up for God, he's going to just, push, push, push, because he knows, two years tops, and he'll be done, because he can't live the life, I'm going to push him to, and that's how, he'll get you, to fall, so a balance,
[25:46] God's never going to push you, God doesn't put pressure on you, God leads you, there's a difference, leading, versus shoving, the Lord will lead you, and guide you, in a still small voice, he'll bring you along, when it's time, but Satan will push you, into something you can't handle, amen, that's actually, very good thoughts here, this morning, I hope you're picking it up, all right, one more, verse, first Corinthians six, this will be the last one, we get to, there's another, another area, that is perverted, you know that God, has given us liberty, in Jesus Christ, liberty, doesn't, not liberty to sin, you understand that, first Timothy six, but he's afforded, the believer, liberty, first Timothy six, I might have, I don't know, first Timothy six, I did say something, wrong didn't I, man, three strikes, all right,
[26:48] I'll sit down, let's try, to get through this one, first Timothy six, and this is one, I want to, I'm not going to go far here, because it really could, open up into a huge, study, it's fun stuff, but he perverts science, Satan perverts science, look at the verse, verse 20, O Timothy, keep that which is committed, to thy trust, avoid profane, and vain babblings, and, avoid this also, oppositions of science, falsely so called, so in Timothy's day, there was, falsely, so called, science, there was, teachings, and beliefs, that were declared, as science, yet it was, not science at all, and the word science, means knowledge, and science, as a definition, a pure definition, is any system, of knowledge, that is concerned, with the physical world, and its phenomena, and that entails, unbiased observations, and systematic, experimentation, you might say, that science is, is gathered, and accumulated knowledge, obtained by, observation, and experimentation, just, men seeking, to understand, our natural world, and when they get, some knowledge, when they see, that, they explain it, they understand it, then they, write it out, the theories, help science, help men move along, but when the theory, cannot be proven, then it has to be, crumpled up, been discarded, or it has to be, tweaked, till they can actually, figure out, that we've, we've figured this out, the natural world, is not just shifting, and changing, and the laws, that God has established, it just doesn't just, change every two weeks, so, for over 6,000 years,
[28:59] I know that, something took place, a good while back, that has probably, changed some things, but in our life, and age, you can pick up a rock, and pick up another rock, and bang them together, and one of them, breaks, and the other one doesn't, why?
[29:12] Because one of them, is made of some kind of a, the mineral is stronger, and you could do that, and just keep beating rocks together, until you found out, this is the strongest rock, I could find, and then you use it, for something, that you need to, bear weight, and I'm being pretty primitive here, but that's about all I can do anyway, so, you get the idea, you observe, you experiment, you study, you learn some things, you prove them, it works, it's true, and it's declared, as I learned from, I have knowledge, that I've gained, from that science, in a nutshell, in a very crude sense, it gets pretty, and complicated, and it's amazing to me, the things that have, been determined, and studied, and understood, and I'm, I am blown away, at the, microscopic world, not just that, that it can be viewed, and not just that it exists, I get, maybe that it exists, that, that the mind of God, on the cellular level, the more man can see it, and understand it, and, and learn of it, it just, boom, the mind of the Lord,
[30:20] I can see, this is where I'm saying, it could go a long way, I can't go this direction, because it's too much, I can't even handle it, but in our world today, the term science, much like what Paul warned Timothy of, falsely so called, the term science today, no longer refers to, true, observable, intelligent, study, or research, that's not what the word means anymore, and it hasn't for a long time, it has been perverted, it has been distorted, and it's been replaced with, uncorroborated theories, with, unintelligent fantasies, and thirdly, with undisciplined imaginations, undisciplined, like for instance, a multiverse, that term is like, accepted today, as if it's gospel, there I used it, it's accepted today, as if it's truth, a multiverse, what in the world, it's an imagination, and it's an undisciplined imagination, it's so foolish, and so you know, where that one came from, it came from, rejecting the word of God, let's just get that out of here, let's start from nothing, okay how did we come to be, well, reprobate minds, without God, have decided, we came to be, from nothing, and from nothing, came something, that developed into us today, a very complex, and complicated society, and organism, and all of it, came from nothing, now that, that is a theory, and it is a uncorroborated theory, but based on that theory, man has said, well then, if it could happen to us, if this universe, could exist from nothing, why couldn't it have happened, somewhere else, it could have, because we know, it happened to us, we pretend it's science, knowledge, it's not, now we've, just, why not, let's just imagine, and let's write a paper about it, and now everybody believes it, there's universes, it could be, infinite amount of them, oh, a multiverse, stupid, thank you, it's not science, and there's nothing close to science, that thought of a multiverse, that's just a concept, derived from a, a previous, unverifiable imagination, and man builds upon his imaginations, let me take you to one verse here, and we'll be done, look at 2nd Corinthians, chapter 10, how do you respond to this stuff, 2nd Corinthians 10, notice verse number 5, this is the scripture, this is God, knowing what you need, long time ago, verse 5, casting down imaginations, and every high thing, so that's what's connected, to the imagination, it's not just, you can't daydream, and your job, and while you're traveling, you can't just think of things, no, it's casting down imaginations, and every high thing, that exalteth itself, against the, what's the word, knowledge, of God, what's true, that God has declared, is that in the beginning,
[34:10] God created the heaven and earth, and if there's any imagination, or any high thing, that will exalt itself, against that truth, you cast it down, if it comes into your heart, nope, it's against the word of God, you put it down, it's against what God declared, and revealed, and continuing, and bringing into captivity, every thought, to the obedience of Christ, how do you respond, to the perversions of science, you cast it down, if you're in that world, and if you were that lost man, you're to cast it down, you're to receive the revealed truth, from the word of God, now to bring our adversary, into the conversation here, do you suppose, it's just merely, of man, of fallen man, to declare that there is no God, I want you to think, do you suppose, that it's just fallen man, just looked around, and finally said, you know what, there is no God, when every civilization, not that has missionaries, but every civilization, on the planet, all of them, as far as a collective group, have some belief, in some higher power, we'll call it, not knowing, the God of the Bible, the creator, the Lord Jesus Christ, but they believe, in something, that's out there, or they sacrifice, to something, or someone, that they believe, is more powerful, than them, they're not so foolish, lost man, is not so foolish, to believe, that he came from nothing, where does he get that concept,
[35:42] I'm bringing the adversary in, to the perversion of science, and because it says, in verse five, every high thing, that exalteth itself, we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness, of this world, against spiritual wickedness, in high places, these are high things, that are messing, with the minds of men, teaching and suggesting, folly, that a lost man receives, but it's not just, the common lost man, that receives it, it's the man, that has a mind, that's the one he targets, the brain, higher education, high things, it's the higher education, the philosophers, that look down, on the common man, and woman, and think, you're just all, weak, peasants, you just follow, you just follow, an old book, but I'm a thinker, I refuse to be bound, by your book, I will exercise my mind, and my abilities, and they have them, they have minds, and abilities, and the devil says, oh yeah, let's get lifted up, in pride together, this is where I walk, you're on high ground now, huh, you're with me, humanity, and humanity, believes in a higher power, but higher education, the academics, and the philosophers, propose alternate ideas, and the context, of this passage, is spiritual warfare, you see that, in verse 3, 4, spiritual warfare, very present, and that's where, the imaginations, come from, and the high things, that exalt themselves, against the knowledge, that God has revealed, in the word of God, yes,
[37:32] I think it's our adversary, the devil, that perverts science, that proposes alternate, ideas, and the fighting, the verses here, that we're talking about, it's power that's over our heads, now, Satan uses perversion, I gave you five things, the words of God, the family, or the husband and wife, the relationship, that God instituted, for the family, into this perversion, the gospel today, standards today, science today, and I'm convinced, I could go on, surely there's more, but that's enough, that gives you a gist, of his method, to oppose God, is to pervert, just twist a little, just to, or even to go full fledged, and say there is no God, or to call evil good, and good evil, it's a work of the devil, don't get sucked into it, if the world's promoting it, should be a red flag, if the world's propping, somebody up on, if they're on the news,
[38:34] I don't care what network it is, if they're being propped up, a red flag should go off, this is not the Lord Jesus Christ, trying to get this person, into office, or trying to promote, this campaign, or this agenda, this is something else, so, he perverts, next week, or will, and we'll move into the fifth, and God willing, the final method, and that is imitation, which is a big one, it is a big one, you know what they say, about imitation, it's the greatest, source of flattery, it's flattering, but I don't think, God's too flattered, to see Satan imitate him, and he imitates him, he is not original, and I'll show you that, we'll begin that study, next week, that it goes a long, long way, a list of the things, that he does, to imitate God, to deceive man, and on and on, so let's take a break there, we'll come back, at the top of the hour, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen,
