[0:00] you just sang yourself a reminder that perfect rest to you is promised and that's one that you're going to need to hold on to and believe at some point if not many points in this life that the best is yet to come just hang on because it's going to get better and god will get you out of here one way or another maybe you got to go into the dirt first and god willing that never happens to us we just go by his grace that'll be something the blessed hope and glorious appearing of the great god and our savior but remind yourself and refresh yourself this morning while you're here in church that perfect rest to you is coming and you can hold on a little bit longer and you can fight this world you can fight the flesh that wants to sin and your laziness and your ignorance and you can just put your faith in the word of god it'll be what you need it's all you need so speaking of which please find genesis chapter 3 we're getting there we're still in this chapter and last week we came upon a segment that i'm breaking into two parts a segment of curses and consequences and last week in chapter 3 verses 14 through 19 we studied the contrasting curses and this week then we're going to follow up part two with consequences that god pronounces and just by way of refresher we'll begin reading again from verse 14 to 19 just to get your place in the text and in the chapter the serpent approached the woman and beguiled her and she was deceived she ate gave to her husband they both did eat the lord showed up they ran and hid god demanded they answer for their sins and their actions and they confessed as we studied earlier and now verse 14 the lord has some judgment for them in verse 14 the bible says the lord god said unto the serpent because thou has done this thou art cursed above all cattle and above every beast of the field upon thy belly shalt thou go and dust shalt be shalt thou eat all the days of thy life and i will put enmity between thee and the woman and between thy seed and her seed it shall bruise thy head and thou shalt bruise his heel unto the woman he said i will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children and thy desire shall be to thy husband and he shall rule over thee and unto adam he said because thou has hearkened unto the voice of thy wife and hast eaten of the tree of which i commanded thee saying thou shalt not eat of it cursed is the ground for thy sake in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee and thou shalt eat of the herb of the field in the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread till thou return unto the ground for out of it was thou taken for dust thou art and unto dust shalt thou return now last week we studied the contrasting curses what we noticed was that only two curses were actually pronounced here one was on the serpent in verse 14 the second was on the ground in verse 17 the contrasting curses was that the one deserved it and it interfered the serpent interfered with what god was doing his perfect work with the man and the woman and his intentions for them on this newly landscaped planet and uh... the serpent interfered and he corrupted god's work and he deserved the curse because thou has done

[4:05] this thou art cursed now the contrast is that adam and eve sinned but they weren't cursed the ground was cursed the ground was innocent the serpent was guilty the ground was innocent and yet the ground bore the curse for another as in verse 17 um... cursed is the ground for thy sake and what did the curse what did the ground do wrong nothing when god told it to bring forth it brought forth and it was good and the ground was doing everything its creator had told it to do and called it and made fashioned it to do yet it has to bear a curse now and so we understood we studied why god wouldn't curse the man and his woman because he had already blessed them and uh... bringing that down to our level and putting that into your lap today is in jesus christ the bible says you're blessed in christ not blessed like i have shoes on my feet and i live in america blessed in that this blessedness blessed is the man to whom the lord will not impute iniquity that kind of blessed blessed is the man whose sins are forgiven whose iniquities are covered that kind of blessed as uh... we read in romans chapter four so getting in on that kind of blessing that's the one god's not going to curse because he's already blessed and so we studied the curses last week now this week let's stay in this same text but now look at what we'll call the continuing consequences so the man and a woman are not cursed but rather the ground and there because the ground i mean these these two come from the ground they're very reliant upon the ground for we're very reliant upon the ground for all of their lives they're going to need the ground and so certain consequences come from the ground being cursed and there's also other consequences we'll study that are just a result of their just disobedience um... these are these that were experienced in that very day are still experienced today and we take it for granted this is all we know this is all we've ever known is the consequences of the sin that man this man and woman brought upon us all so as the curse continues or remains the consequences continue and this morning we're going to take a look specifically to begin at the woman he addresses the woman in verse 16 and then in verse 17 he addresses adam and so these are different sets of consequences that god pronounces on them and we'll begin in verse 16 then with the woman notice the bible says again in verse 16 unto the woman he said i will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children and thy desire shall be to the husband he shall rule over thee i want you to notice i can't help but notice the reoccurrence of the word sorrow in verse number 16 the reoccurrence of the word sorrow and it's mentioned both times in connection to conception or to bearing children and so the first consequence that we'll see and study this morning for the sin that was brought on the human race by the woman in this case was is sorrow sorrow do you think god had sorrow in his heart when he or in his mind as a let's put the seed of sorrow into this human race when i made the man and made his woman brought them together do you think that was an intention of god for this human race was that they'd experience sorrow and pain and suffering and anguish but it's only a few chapters in and a consequence of sin is sorrow manifold sorrows specifically in relation to childbearing now there are certain sorrows and pains and things that only a woman that conceives and that carries and that delivers a child will ever experience men you don't want to transition into a woman

[8:06] you don't want to do it you don't want to bear that sorrow i've heard men say thank god i'm not a woman now ladies i'm not pushing you down you but this is something you have to deal with and some of you ladies are tougher than enough men when it comes to this one you uh you bear a burden and don't blame your husbands blame eve that's where it started right now there's multiple manifold i'll say sorrows that are associated with this from throwing up in the morning to looking like a house feeling like a house with a new addition put on to having just completely abnormal feelings from laughing and crying in the same sentence to cravings to swollen feet to just i don't know i've never done it so abnormal feelings non-stop there's nothing ordinary about a woman that what she endures to bring a child into this world the sorrows are varied and these i'm making light of a few but there's some that are not to be made light of number one is extreme physical pain the bible refers to it with words as travail pain sorrow and pangs p-a-n-g-s pangs and i'll give you a pang is a sudden sharp pain and here's a few verses god uses a woman that delivers a child to liken what he's going to put israel through for their disobedience and so you'll see the judgment on them is illustrated by a woman's sorrows that she has to bear because of sin he says like as a woman with child that draweth near the time of her delivery is in pain and crieth out in her pangs and he goes on to say that's what you're going to get israel another times he says they shall be afraid pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them they shall be in pain as a woman that travaileth now i don't believe god ever intended pain when he said be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth i don't believe he ever intended there to be pain and sorrow accompanied with that i think it was going to be pain free a wonderful thing it was never supposed to hurt but the sorrow and the pain that you feel is a result of this chapter and the sin of eve now not only is there extreme physical pain associated with this bringing forth children but also there's extreme danger as much as death in many cases the pain is one thing but taking the woman's body childbearing brings the woman's body to extreme limits and without proper medical oversight it can be deadly to keep your pace here look at genesis chapter 35 there's extreme dangers even to the point of death itself it was never intended by god for the woman but it's a consequence of her sin a continuing consequence in genesis 35 jacob's favorite wife is rachel and at the end of verse 16 it says she travailed she had hard labor and it came to pass when she was in hard labor that the midwife said unto her fear not thou shalt have this son also and it came to pass as her soul was in departing for she died that she called his name benoni but his father called him benjamin and rachel died she died giving birth to benjamin this wasn't her first child she delivered healthily joseph but not this time there was complications she died that bringing

[12:06] forth a child brought her body to the extreme limitations that she died in childbearing she calls the name of benoni the child benoni meaning son of my sorrow sorrows childbearing but the father says no he's not going to live under this sorrow all of his life he's going to be called benjamin which means son of my right hand and it's a blessing in that look at first samuel chapter 4 here's another case of death extreme danger in childbearing first samuel chapter 4 eli is the priest in shiloh his two sons are wicked and they're going to be killed by the lord and one day the ark of god is going to be taken by the philistines and eli falls back off of his chair and his neck break in verse 18 so he's dead and in verse 19 his daughter in law verse 19 and his daughter in law phineas wife was with child near to be delivered and when she heard the tidings that the ark was taken that her father-in-law and her husband were dead she bowed herself and travailed for her pains came upon her and about the time of her death the woman that stood by said unto her fear not thou was born a son but she answered not neither did she regard it and she why because she's dying her life is leaving her body she named the child ichabod saying the glory of god you remember this guy glory of god has departed from israel now there's another case of death in the bible and it's no telling over the course of humanity in the six thousand years how many women have died not babies but mothers bringing the babies into the world it's it's still happening today at a rate of approximately average of four in the united states each day four mothers die giving birth not because they're on drugs or it's because of this thing is still happening it's greater in third world countries without the proper medical or at least the care that we have here and the average and I think if I recall it was 2020 the average was up to 800 a day worldwide now it sounds like a lot but compared to how many babies are born every day it's really a very small number nevertheless 800 mothers died daily in the world bringing a child into this world it's an extreme danger it really really is now more than that in a different light there's another sorrow that's associated with bringing children into this world and having them look at proverbs chapter 10 you can have a child and endure all of the discomforts of the pregnancy and all of the pains of childbearing and the dangers as well and bringing a healthy baby into the world and recovering is a great thing but it doesn't mean that you're going to get away without having sorrow because of that child and in proverbs chapter 10 look at verse number 1 the proverbs of solomon a wise son maketh a glad father but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother there's real pain and real sorrow that a mother feels more than just the mom the parents together feel look at chapter 15 when they have a foolish child that doesn't regard reproof and doesn't regard correction and lives after the flesh it's heaviness proverbs 15 look at verse number

[16:06] 20 a wise son maketh a glad father but a foolish man despiseth his mother a mom brings a child into the world trains him cares for him and in the end the child just despises her treats her like garbage talks back to her disobeys her disrespects her that's despising her when they talk back in disrespect that's heaviness to the woman look at chapter 17 these are all products of sin they're all sorrows in this life with children 17 verse 21 he that begetteth a fool doeth it to his sorrow and the father of a fool hath no joy look at verse 25 a foolish son is a grief to his father and bitterness to her that bear him it's heaviness bitterness shame sorrow the absence of joy these are all products of sin one way or another and many a father many a mother have tasted this terrible sorrow that can only be brought on by a child that causeth shame by a fool when I look at that I read that bible it illuminates me to me and it says what a jerk you've been to your parents when you were of a younger age what sorrows they must have felt that I didn't even care about didn't even think about because I was chasing my own lust and desires and yet the whole time there was a heaviness to my mother and that scares me when I read some of the promises given to the child that obeys his parents and think man

[17:56] I can't get around the word of God I can't and I've maybe have just erased some of the honor or some of the blessing in life that God promised the child that would obey his parents if you know what I'm talking about read Ephesians 6 so this is a real thing it's a consequence of sin these are sorrows that we're studying related to having children that are consequences of disobeying God back in Genesis chapter 3 and it just wants it leads me to say you can't escape this sorrow and what you can do though is you can learn a valuable lesson from it not just pinpointing children and bringing children into the world but just as a principle itself that with sin comes sorrow how about it we'll just make it simple on this hand is sin and each of us in our flesh want something on this hand there's some sins that we are guilty of that we commit that are in our flesh and we don't even try to stop them in some cases others maybe you wrestle with but nevertheless with that sin comes sorrow so you can have your sin but remember you're going to have your sorrow with it on the other hand no sin good news there's no sorrow when you don't sin when you abstain from sin when you turn from your sin repent from your sin when you when you walk in the spirit don't fulfill the lust of the flesh there's no sorrow in this life over here but over here you can enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season but mark it down you're going to also endure the sorrows of sin for a season you're not going to get away with it with sin comes sorrow it's a consequence it's a continuing consequence that hasn't gone away and it never will they're built in one to the other I know how

[20:00] Christians think because this is how I thought I'll enjoy my sin and then when it gets close to suffering or to the bottom drop it out I'm going to run to God and get right and repent of my sin and beg for mercy and he's going to because he's a faithful God to forgive us our sins and that logic just it's it made sense to me I'll enjoy as much as I can but I'll get right and the sad thing is living in sins like drinking poison you can once you put it in you it's in you it's not like you can just wash it off of your hands it's inside of your being now and you can run to God and confess your sins you can get right in and experience the mercy of God and not be outwardly judged for your sins the trouble is inwardly in your flesh that sin abides and it works Paul describes it that it's it slew him sin work within you you don't want to drink that you don't want to taste that because the sorrow stays for the rest of your life so that's a real consequence of sin be not deceived God is not mocked come back to Genesis chapter 3 so the woman bears the consequence of sorrow specifically in relation to children and childbearing there's another thing that she that comes on her here in this chapter in verse 16 unto woman he said I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception and sorrow thou shalt bring forth children and then secondly thy desire shall be to thy husband he shall rule over thee the second consequence for Eve's sin is subordinance subordinance because of the woman's part in the transgression she was beguiled she was deceived remember that she was deceived now she must be in subjection to her husband Paul says in first

[22:12] Corinthians 11 that the husband or the head of the woman is the man that's Pauline doctrine and I'll point something out about that later now look back at chapter 2 in the garden of Eden I never see where God pronounced this as a thing before the sin you'll you'll assume it in a sense because the woman is of the man and you'll assume that there was some kind of husband-wife relationship where he was the head you just that's presumed it's never mentioned it's never declared in scripture notice in chapter 2 verse 18 it is the Lord God said it is not good that the man should be alone he saw that as a problem just by himself so what did he do I will make him and help meet for him I don't want to say she's just a friend but she's in help is the word the Bible calls her and help meet meet is suitable meet is a match it's a fit and so he made a woman that is not exactly like him but one that is meet for him or suitable for the man he didn't make another man and I'm not saying that in some sexual perversion thing

[23:34] I'm saying he didn't make another man just so they could be bros and buddies that's not what God established he made a woman now what is she called she's called in help all right look later at verse 20 says it again Adam gave names all the cattle fowl the air to every beast of the field but for Adam there was not found in help meet for him so the dog is not man's best friend because dogs were there and all the animals were there but there was no help found for the woman or for the man and so he's going to make one as in as we see in the chapter here look at verse 21 the Lord caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam and he he slept took one of his ribs closed up the flesh there instead thereof and the rib which the Lord God had taken from man made he a woman so there's the first time a woman and brought her unto the man so she's called in help that's meet for him she's called in verse 24 his wife and verse 24 is

[24:35] Moses it looks like Moses inserting into what's happening in the narration of what God is doing Moses slips in a little line that he knows later on when God says or Adam says she's going to be a woman because she's taken out a man Moses says therefore shall a man leave his father and mother and shall cleave unto his wife and they shall be one flesh but that that verse 24 doesn't seem to fit at all into God just making the first man and making the first woman and saying therefore shall leave his father and mother there is no father and mother to leave but nevertheless she's called his wife in verse 25 they were both naked the man and his wife there's the next term again that God uses to describe her all right there's something else verse 24 it says therefore shall a man leave his father mother and shall cleave unto his wife and they shall be one flesh so they're a unit unit like oneness they're one and she is part of the unit now notice back in chapter 1 and verse 28 God creates a male and female created he them and in verse 28 God blessed them and

[25:53] God said unto them be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth and subdue it who do you say that to the man and his wife the male and the female to them replenish the earth subdue it the couple the unit and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the air and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth God did that to the unit the husband and his wife the man and his wife so dominion of creation was given to them both as a couple they were on top of the world together until they sinned until Eve was beguiled by the serpent took of the fruit and did eat and then gave to her husband and he did eat and her place in this sin in this transgression has caused her now to be knocked down a peg now he says thy desire shall be to thy husband Eve and he shall rule over thee that didn't show up in chapters 1 and 2 but a result of the sin now is subordinance it's a continuing consequence it didn't disappear ladies when you got saved and now I'm in Christ

[27:06] I'm no longer in Adam and therefore no that doesn't change a bit as a matter of fact just because this world's liberation movements and the modern society have their statements and their doctrines none of that overthrows what God has established in Genesis chapter 3 what he declared now we're gonna look at a few verses here and what I want you to do ladies is I'm preparing you that what you're gonna think inside of you is well that's not me that's not me I mean yeah yeah that does apply or yep that's some but that's not me and I want to warn you the scripture has some very distinct script verses and commands to the woman as it does to the man but as we're studying what Eve brought on and the consequences to the woman this subordinance let's understand clearly what the scripture is expecting come to first Corinthians chapter number 14 I pray that you'll receive with meekness the engrafted word this morning that it is in fact the word of God for you to follow first Corinthians chapter 14 all right verses 34 and 35 notice the scripture Paul writes to this church that had things just completely out of balance and he writes to get things in order and he says let your women keep silence in the churches for is not permitted unto them to speak now pause right there when I was young I've read through my Bible or read through these passages I always think my mom talks in church she comes in the door and says hi like what does that mean what is that really saying I didn't quite understand it but it's not hard look in the passage it says of course says let him keep silence in the churches is not permitted unto them to speak is the word don't ever change the words of your Bible and it can declare what it means look back at verse 23 if therefore the whole church become together into one place and all speak with tongues notice a verse skim down through here a little bit verse 27 if any man speak with an unknown tongue let it be by two or so he's setting that in order this this gift of the Holy Ghost and speaking with tongues if there be no interpreter verse 28 let him keep silence in the church and let him speak to himself and to God let the prophets speak two or three so every time he's talking about the word speak already in the context the foundation's been laid it's with his exercising of the spiritual gifts of the Holy Ghost in this age and so when it comes up into verse 34 let your women keep silence in the churches is not permitted unto them to speak it's totally in reference to the spiritual gifts and to the exercising of them in the local church now well we'll just let that be where it is the end of the verse but they the women verse 34 but they are commanded to be notice the word under under that's an important word under obedience as also saith the law and if any will learn anything let them ask their husbands at home for it is a shame for women to speak in the church now this this is scriptural mandates for the practice this that's going on at this time and people today and you can get on TV and see these these churches putting on this thing and you'll find out that

[30:58] I can't say all of them but I can surely point to several of them they don't follow anything that goes on in this text when they claim to be doing these or exercising these gifts there's one right down the road here you can go check it out see if I'm telling you the truth see if the women are standing up in church in the congregation and violating the scriptures now the context tongues prophesying and the women are commanded to be under obedience they're not to be leading the show or to be speaking publicly in these matters of the word of God and things like that now why is that come to 1st Timothy chapter number 2 and let the scriptures declare the scriptures 1st Timothy chapter number 2 so it turns out my mom's okay when she's greeting her friends and talking 1st Timothy chapter number 2 and you'll see something very similar in this passage he's he talks tells the men that they're

[32:02] Paul says that he's a preacher and an apostle that he's a teacher and men are to pray everywhere and the women in verse 9 and 10 are to have a reputation of modest apparel and good works in verse 10 and then verse 11 says let the woman learn in silence with all subjection now there's another word that's comparable to what we're studying here with subordinates subjection under but I suffer not a woman to teach nor to usurp authority over the man but to be in silence and now he explains it for Adam was first formed then Eve and Adam was not deceived but the woman being deceived was in the transgression so as a consequence to the sin for the woman is subordination and it's I don't know that it's just straight up a punishment but maybe some light is kind of being revealed here that apparently the woman is an easier target than the man is now you could argue with me about that or get puffed up over it or say that you're smarter than your husband or you're more spiritual than you maybe maybe you are but the point the case in point is Eve and Adam and she was deceived he was not deceived so sayeth the word of God and as a result the man that's not deceived is to be the role or the leader or to have rule and the woman is to be quiet in these areas because she's susceptible to deception and it's not that you can point a finger at a man and say well that guy's a mess okay that doesn't negate the scriptures so what I'm telling you is have a receive with meekness the scriptures and look at

[33:56] Ephesians chapter 5 and Andrew could you get that ready if you don't mind I got a slide I'm going to pop up here that we used in Sunday school several months ago I want to let this pop up here to illustrate there's the woman right there on the right Ephesians chapter 5 let's read this passage first and then he'll he'll try to get that up verse 22 says wives submit yourselves unto your own husbands as unto the Lord for the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church and he is the savior of the body therefore as the church is subject unto Christ so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything so verse 22 I want you to draw your attention to that clearly wives submit yourselves unto your own husbands the last four words are as unto the Lord now are you to be in subjection to Jesus Christ in all things or do you do you run him do you tell him what is right and wrong for your life the statement is to be in subjection to your own husbands as unto the Lord and you're not going to mouth off to God and you're not going to sneak around behind his back and pull the wool over his eyes are you so that's how you're supposed to be in subjection to your husband that's the verse if you need it verse 22 there it is again now

[35:28] I want ladies all of you to realize that it's a work of your flesh it's a temptation in your flesh to rebel against your head and to to do things contrary to what the word of God expresses plainly you say well how do I do that how do I rebel against him well if you make decisions that affect your family without consulting him and pretend no this is my job to do it I'm not talking about what you're eating for supper dinner for some of you I'm not talking about which store you buy your things from or you know you every relationship is different husband and wife come together and you figure out the details yourselves but when it comes to decisions that affect the family and specifically in spiritual matters you defer to your head to the husband you can be going behind his back or concealing things from him or resisting him or standing up to him especially when he's trying to follow the Lord there are occasions of this not a few that a husband felt called of God led of God but the wife stood up against it and said in so many terms over my dead body we are not you are not and our kids are not and that's not the role of the wife now is that ready Andrew is that live yes alright this is a chart

[36:46] I'm going to skip through all of the particulars and just bring up the main portion of this chart this is what we studied when we were here in Ephesians chapter 5 and this was the gist of it and I think this will help you if you'll get this down and understand it that this is the breakdown and I can give you the passages 1 Corinthians 11 is the main one that describes God Christ the man the woman and then of course we know Ephesians 6 that children obey your parents and the Lord now the arrows are significant and I don't know if you can read all of that from where you're seated but the arrow pointing down describes you are to lead the one below you you are to love them you are to honor and give reverence to them or give honor to them as the communion and to teach them is the other word and so there's God and Christ as a man submitted to God the Father and God taught and led him in all ways Christ leads the man he loves the man the woman and the child and it's in an order the family and you can see how the woman has a responsibility over the children and what is the child's responsibility going from the bottom up with the arrows that their job is to obey and to submit to and there the woman submits and obeys the man the man Christ and so the question comes up well what if the man steps out of that line and he's not following Christ well it's obvious the woman cannot follow the man she can't go out from this order she's got to stay underneath that with Jesus Christ and that there's a lot of men that aren't following and the same thing's true the woman steps out of her relationship or her role in obeying her husband and therefore the children don't know what in the world they're supposed to do and the example and the pattern's broken this is biblical headship it's all pulled from the scripture and again we didn't go through each verse to point it out but that's just an illustration of the chart to help you understand that

[38:45] I know women that put you down pretty low in this category don't be offended by that don't take that it's not meant to look that way it's just those are the terms that says the head of Christ is God so he has to be up there but if the man doesn't follow Jesus Christ you can't follow the man it's going to be hard for you to submit to a man that's not submitted to Jesus Christ and be right with God that thing just gets out of balance quick and you can any thoughts I think that you come up with or any scenarios you can find that if it stays in line it works if one gets out of it whether it's the child or the woman or the man or any of it it breaks down quickly and so this is biblical headship and I hope that graphic is a help to you and maybe if you want to take a picture of it later you can just to study it out yourself but there's going to be times ladies when you feel underappreciated or disrespected or overlooked and you're going to be tempted to step out of your place and to do you and what I'd say to you is that this is why your personal relationship to Jesus Christ is so important that you that is key that what you're doing is as unto the Lord and if you don't have that relationship with Christ then you're going to get pretty ticked off at your husband at times and things aren't going to work and things will blow up and you all regret it now as a side note to this this consequence to the woman's sin and maybe a bit of encouragement is one day ladies you'll be delivered from this particular consequence when we're changed and when we're like the Lord there no longer be this husband ruling over the wife set up and so this is only earthly and I don't know when and how it's going to take place but you can rest that you'll be changed one day and this consequence will be done away forever as will the sorrow so two for two now I want to shift over to the men in one particular way come back to

[40:53] Genesis 3 and this is kind of my transition into what we'll do Lord willing next week and I want you to get Genesis 3 and while you're going there get 2 Samuel 23 so two takeaways this morning in regards to these consequences to the ladies number one is with sorrow comes or with sin comes sorrow sorrow and that's a takeaway that everybody in here can apply with sin comes sorrow the second one is the subordinance and understand that your flesh is going to rebel against this and resist it and find an excuse and a reason why it doesn't apply to you but it applies to you it absolutely applies

[41:56] God is still looking for that lady to be of a meek and quiet spirit alright so Genesis chapter 3 it says thy desire verse 16 toward the end thy desire shall be to thy husband and notice now he that's the husband he shall rule over thee I want to point something out here in shifting from the lady to the man is if that wasn't the case beforehand it is now if they were a unit and they were just a oneness to them and there was together had everything under their feet in subjection to them and because of this sin and because she stepped out on her own and then God said you did that now you're going to be in subject automatically now he's going to rule over her he now has a responsibility that maybe you expect it to be there before but now it is pronounced he shall rule over thee now turn to 2 Samuel 23 and I just want to point out something that David says in regards to men being rulers

[43:04] I was reading this in Esther yesterday the beginning of Esther and that queen Vashti she refused to obey her husband and they made a proclamation because of that the Gentiles did this that every man should bear rule in his own house I found that interesting to see that those lost heathens had that figured out that this is how things work and it works the best way the way God established it by the way 2 Samuel chapter 23 and I'll start in verse 1 now these be the last words of David David the son of Jesse said the man who was raised up on high the anointed of the God of Jacob and the sweet psalmist of Israel said the spirit of the Lord spake by me and his word was in my tongue and God the God of Israel said the rock of Israel spake to me here comes the quote he that ruleth over men must be just ruling in the fear of

[44:10] God ruling in the fear of God that's a must so husbands understand this and we're about to close here when the woman brought this consequence of desire being toward her husband and him having rule over her her subordinates inherent with that consequence to her comes a responsibility to you to be a ruler to rule in the fear of God I might add if you can't rule her in the fear of God but rule her with a strong arm you're worthless if you don't have love you're told to love her you're told to give reverence unto her give honor unto her as unto the weaker vessel and you need a bible to tell you certain things are true about her and therefore certain responsibilities fall upon your shoulders and I don't think it was there in that fashion or in that pronounced in that way until the curse and the consequences fell so men so men inherently you have a responsibility to lead your wife to teach your wife to love your wife to give her that honor as she is in fact the weaker vessel that 1

[45:26] Peter 3 describes he shall rule over thee but gentlemen you better do it right because now you have a responsibility to God for how you treat and handle your wife and your home a wife doesn't need a tough guy and a wife doesn't need a boss and she doesn't need a master she needs a husband and she needs a man that will bear those responsibilities that he now has and that he'll carry weight on his back that she should not have to carry and it's going to take there's another study to do here with some of this stuff which we'll let go but I want you men to take that seriously transitioning as we go to you next week into the consequences that have continued since Adam's sin that are falling on your shoulders one pops up in relation to the woman and that is you now are her ruler and don't get that word rule and feel like it's a negative word it's a

[46:29] Bible word it's 1 Timothy chapter 3 with the the pastor is one that rules his own house well it's guiding and overseeing and taking the authority and the headship of it that's all it is doesn't make you a king it doesn't give you a throne and a scepter but rather a good husband will learn how to humble himself and a good husband will learn how to swallow some things and put some things within him down because he loves his wife because he doesn't want to see her hurt because ruling over her doesn't mean pushing her down it can mean a whole lot of other things that the man is going to have to learn to humble himself to be a good leader and a good ruler you know when David messed up you know what he had to do he had to repent he had to admit it he couldn't just say well whatever I'm the king shut up and do what you're told you know how those gentile kings acted they off with your head forget you get out of my that's not a godly man he's got a rule in the fear of

[47:34] God and so gentlemen we'll pick it up there next week as we continue with this study on the curses and the consequences that they come for us too so we'll be dismissed here with that thought not going to give any invitation or do anything along those lines just wanted you to let those truths get in and let them simmer and I hope that you receive them if you need to look up some of those passages again look them up and pray over them and seek the Lord's will for your own obedience and your position so that forget the voices in this life just forget the news forget the TV forget the roles that all the movies and all the shows put in front of you how the man is stupid and the woman's smart or the man all he is is just a good for nothing clown and the woman has to save the day and be the leader and all the new stuff has the woman being the president or has the woman being the head of the FBI or just whatever TV show comes she's always stepping over that role so please realize where that's coming from realize that that's not the God's role for you and don't rebel against it and let's close in prayer father we love you

[48:47] I pray I pray that it step Eph75 here can't hermano that's my
