Your Personal Devotion Time

[0:00] better than that pretty good all right i'm not complaining about good sometimes i feel bad but oh right oh and by the way as far as the offering thing if you have any questions or maybe i said something that you have a question about you know you're not gonna offend me pull me aside and tell me ask me a question i'll try and give you a bible answer it's all good it's all good um okay so this morning um you know i look out about this crowd i gotta put my glasses on i gotta put glasses on for everything anymore you know it's kind of a bummer getting old i don't want but i don't want uh bifocals you know you go into the glass place and the guy and i and i talked to the guy about the bifocals and the guy right across the thing says yeah you don't want those okay you know you're a professional i don't want those you tell me because you don't see enough and i read plans at work i'm i'm in construction and i gotta see the whole thing i don't want to be going like this you know trying to do that so if i rotate glasses that's what i do but uh you know i look across the crowd and i see i see all across the spectrum that's the word today you know right right you got some of your smile yeah spectrum you know spectrum whatever but uh i see everybody i see you know i see um you could you know wherever you're at in your christianity you could be just newly saved you could be uh maybe even a little backslidden uh maybe you're uh uh you know you're more spiritual than me you the the gamut goes all the way across the spectrum i look out there so you know i'm going to say some things this morning that maybe you can't grab take what you can leave the rest huh you know it's like it's like coming to the trough to eat that's what we do we come here we come to eat a little spiritual things you've been uh yeah you know unfortunately we've been eating from the world all week but you come in here and and and you know you come to the trough take what you want leave the rest right all right um i deal with my competition too my competition this morning is one entertainment and two iphones that's my competition when i'm trying to keep your attention for spiritual things i got to try to keep up but i'm not going to try and do that because this is a spiritual thing versus a worldly thing but you've been you've been dealing with entertainment some of you been dealing with entertainment all week and you know i mean unfortunately people come to church because you know they expect to be entertained the same way they were entertained all week so you know if the preacher doesn't give them exactly uh what they want how they want it but just let's take a few minutes if you can and try to consider spiritual things because that's why we're here and i'm sure that's why you're here uh i mean there's there's a there's a whole different group besides us that goes for not spiritual things right there's plenty of that out there that's not what we're designed for we're considered bible believing christianity right off the bat you got the bible right okay so uh my my competition entertainment i'm gonna try to uh not put you to sleep but you know i'm not a good entertainer i'd probably be doing something else for a living and then the iphones iphones man you know i get it i'm attached to the phone just like you are and it's like i can't go anywhere without it i'm afraid to go anywhere without it because well for me it's i have family on the weekend or something ain't about work but it's family you know if my if my son tries to get a hold of me or my daughter or my other daughter tries to get a hold of me or my wife i want to be there right that's the way it is anymore and during the week you know it's always a work call that work call can go from morning to night i you know it's just i just you feel bad about not being there for it but if you could just for a few minutes the advertisements the uh you know your sports thing

[4:04] it's keeping score of this morning let's try to put that stuff aside and not be preoccupied with the iphone i get it uh silence your phone if it's if it's on ring right okay so this morning i'm going to give you i want to give you some things that are having to do with your personal devotion time and i'm going to give you seven things it's not going to be these seven you know one thing one thing i have learned in my christianity and in my long christianity you know is uh is you don't you probably don't have the formula you know you should preach things like this is how you do this you know you want revival one two three four five what about six and seven and eight what about what if there is a nine and ten that you don't know you know so that's what i'm talking about so um i want to give you i'm just gonna give you seven points and seven things that you can incorporate or do in your personal devotion time that i think would be good okay this is something that i've learned over the years uh by experience by uh reading other people by listening you know i've been exposed to a lot of preaching been exposed to a lot of stuff and um i think these are good things that you can incorporate if you got eight nine and ten that's great that's great nothing wrong with that but you know so there are important things in life i've been told in my in all my years of christianity that the most important thing in your christian life is raise your hand if you know okay a few a few of you have your hand up because i'm not gonna call on you by the way don't be afraid i'm not gonna call on you i'll warn you first if i'm gonna call on you it's kind of like when you're on the phone in the car you know and the car thing comes up you always tell the person hey i'm here with so and so right that's proper etiquette you don't just let them talk and then they talk bad about so and so and you're like oh um uh right um so um i lost my thought but seven seven things that oh we're talking about the most important thing in your relationship that's why i keep going across here so i can see it um is your relationship with jesus christ right that is part of our strike that is who we are you know if you go to you go somewhere else and you ask that uh uh the guy in charge the pastor whoever you may be and you say hey what's the most important thing for christian you know you'd be surprised what comes across it may be i know of people that probably the first thing that come out of their mouth will be soul winning soul winning is the most important thing you know what when it comes down to uh pleasing god the most important thing would probably have to do with you worshiping him right i mean it's not it's god wills and none would perish but it all come to repentance and your ministry the reconciliation i understand all that but that ain't the most important thing in christianity it's your relationship with jesus christ that's part of our stripe it's who we are it's like it's like being associated with you know the the sign on the church says bible baptist church that's who we are we're first we're all about the bible second we're baptists if i wasn't a baptist i'd be embarrassed huh i picked that up from somebody i thought it sounded good a baptist a baptist you know when when you hear the word baptist i want you to associate it with one thing and that's freedom of conscience freedom of conscience

[8:09] you get to worship god not by my dictates but hopefully according to what you see in the word of god and of course you know when we preach hopefully we're giving you that right if we're not find another church i guess bible baptist church where that's who we associate with it's who we are another part of our stripe is you know i said the bible but our elevation of the word of god see we we tend to elevate the word of god because we believe we have it in our hands you get it right a lot of you understand that and i know we we get we get ridiculed and and people don't like the fact that we believe that god has preserved his word somewhere where we can touch it i i don't know but i was thinking i was thinking yesterday i was thinking um i would think that you would be happy being a christian and believing the word of god that i believe i could touch it i believe i have it wouldn't you be happy about that no some people aren't happy about some people would rather you not know where it is and no oh no i just that's not me i this is our stripe it's a stripe i get it not everybody sees it that way but we believe that we have the word of god that we can trust and read man there ain't nothing like that i don't i don't want to be searching other languages and across the gamut of every bible to try to get some understanding of this concept this is what it says there you go there you go and it's also it's also fast fading you know there's statistics out there and i don't remember them but how many churches close every day how many building how many church buildings are vacant every day and you know this this this kind of christianity becomes unappealing to people they don't want to you know you people you know you think you're better than everybody else no we don't we don't we think we're human like everyone else we just believe that god preserved his word somewhere and we happen to have it but but you know that's not just it that's just not that's just not it nobody else believes that they have it right i mean that's just the way it is we are the only people that believe we can pick up where's your bible where's your bible you know we're the only ones that believe we can do this and say we believe this word of god they just don't nobody else believes that they believe you go to original language maybe maybe they believe it goes as far as the text of receptage but we're the only people that believe we can point to a book in the english language and we can say hey that's it you know i don't know it's just it's good it's it's it's it's just blessing but what i wanted to say was you know uh because we're getting to the end times this is part of the i say part of our stripe these are things that are fast fading these are things that are falling by the wayside these are things that people are taking a step down to go to something something a little less hey later see in christianity got in here somehow had to get in here somebody brought in here with them

[12:11] and you know what if i'm a little loud for you or i move a little too much just bear with me i'll be gone and then pass me back next week all right you only have to put up with me one time okay so i want to give you seven things wrong glasses this is what i do at work all day i get the wrong glasses and then my eyes strain and then i'm done um the importance of devotion time now i'm skipping over i'm skipping over the sermon that has to do with you ought to have devotion time right skipping over that one that's not what i'm preaching on this morning i'm assuming that you already have it you have some devotion time with god i'm assuming that so that's what i want to give you in the light of that if uh if you don't have a devotion time then you need to listen to the sermon that talks about that all right number one number one having to do with uh your personal devotion time the first thing i would say that you should do in there and incorporate into your personal devotion time is get right with god you know you've heard that here many times uh that is not very popular outside of these doors uh first john chapter one first john chapter one first john chapter one and um it's not very popular out there because you know as a as a christian there's many people that believe that hey once you're saved you god doesn't look at your sin god can't see your sin i understand the spiritual circumcision and and i understand forgiveness i understand all that but in first john chapter one verse nine it says if we confess our sin he is faithful and just to forgive us our sin and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness thank god amen we're talking to save people here's a here's a really easy way to look at it how many people can you not be right with and have a good relationship with right i mean look at it that way how many people can you not be right with and have a good relationship with zero it's just not gonna work there's gonna be that tension of as soon as i see we're not right amen so you know these people that are thinking that they're gonna get with god and everything's gonna be hunky-dory but we ain't right something wrong there first thing you should incorporate into your personal devotion time and some of these points they might not be the everyday thing you know obviously you can't spend hours right you have a real life i get it but uh the first thing i'm just encouraging you with is uh get right with god these people that don't believe you need to get right with god you don't need to confess and repent of your sin i ask god to forgive me and cleanse me from the sins of the flesh that's what my problem is right my problem isn't in the in the new man my problem is in the dead old man that somehow is still pretty active just saying so you know these people that believe that you don't need to do that that breeds a a self-righteous sorry carnal person that's what it breeds because they're thinking anything they do is just wonderful they don't there's nothing wrong with what i do yes it is i can't go get you go through all the stuff having to do with that but you need to get right with god get right with god daily for me

[16:12] for me and i probably probably said it here before i uh i need to recognize the areas that i'm having having a problem in right all sins a problem the lust of the flesh the lust of the eyes and the pride of life that's where everything falls it's going to fall into one of them three so when you do your self-examination and you get right with god you look for where you have participated in the lust of the flesh the lust of the eyes and the pride of life the lust of the flesh is that thing that lust of the flesh is here so here's a good way to look at it that lust of the flesh goes on right in there you feel it right there i'm just telling you you feel it right now so when you're uh let's let's do let's do food when you know you shouldn't be doing this food say whatever this food is and this food is something that affects your health whatever you want it now and you feel it right there how many know what i'm talking about all right a few of you a few of you and it goes for everything it goes for anything it goes for anything that's the lust of the flesh out of the heart proceed it look it up lust of the eyes the lust of the eyes is what you want to look at if you don't understand the lust of the eyes just um you know just think about it all day long you look at stuff all day long you see stuff but there's certain times during the day where you go like this right you know what i'm talking about hey for everybody it's something different maybe it's uh maybe it's what you like to read maybe it's what you like to watch but nonetheless you're you know it's all of a sudden boom that eye goes i got you may look away real quick but that eye just that's the lust of the eye it does it's one thing that's right it is so and then there's the pride of life which is everything outside of those two right that keeps it really simple so that's how you examine yourself and you can start addressing those things in your life and get right with God all right i i've been told this many times and uh you know first john doesn't say you need to do it every day but keep short accounts keep short accounts you want to have a good relationship with the father look if you're here this morning you're not saved you don't know what that means you or you have a question about it or you're wondering come see me after i tell you about that but right now i'm talking to saved people but you want your relationship to be workable that's good and the only way you're going to do that is just like you do with anybody else is have a good relationship so get right with God would be number one number two and you might not do all of them all the time but do this one all the do that first one all the time get right with God when you start your devotion time you start in prayer you start in bible you start in worship you start in whatever get your heart right with God first okay all right number two number two is read your bible read your bible this ought to be a real this ought to be like one of the main things you do in devotion in your devotion time this is God's word we believe that and this is what you're going to how you're going to get fed this is how you're going to get encouraged this is how you're going to get uh reproved rebuked exhorted right you need to read the word of God man shall not live by bread alone but by every word

[20:13] that proceedeth out of the mouth of God I want to look at Hebrews chapter 12 I mean Hebrews chapter 4 I'm sorry Hebrews chapter 4 one verse here in verse 12 it says for the word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit and of the joints and marrow if you don't understand all that that's okay and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart get that get that one for sure so when you're reading your Bible it's it's talking to you it is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of your heart and the problem is is you don't know right the heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked who can know it well

[21:13] God knows it and the word of God which happens to be the discerner also knows it so you will get a blessing reading your Bible and getting your heart revealed to yourself and if you don't want to do that you need to resort back to number one right amen all right and number one was get right with God if you forgot that point already I'm sorry I'm obviously not keeping you okay you know and reading the Bible is core in our stripe okay I say our stripe it's us it's who we are you know if somebody was to recommend if I was to recommend you asked me you said hey man I'm looking for a good church out in Mississippi I would be looking for a place that kind of you know it's kind of like us to send you to

[22:17] I wouldn't just say hey just open up the yellow pages man if it says church go to it I wouldn't do that okay so it's who we are let's look at a couple verses here just you know we're talking about reading your Bible Psalms 119 Psalms 119 and there's you know and we're talking about the Bible so you can find all kinds of stuff but Psalms 119 and these are these are a couple verses well all of these probably I remember as a as a young man Psalms 119 and verse 9 it says wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way by taking heed thereto according to thy word that's how you take care of some of them things it's in the word of God verse 11 right there thy word have I hidden mine heart that I might not sin against thee it's the word you need to get the word in

[23:20] Psalms 119 105 you might know the verse you ought to know the verse you ought to memorize that verse it says thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path right that's the good stuff we need to come to the light we need to come to the word the reason people don't want to come to that light well John chapter 3 talks about that is they don't want to see they don't want to know but we that's what we do we believe that and we're talking about personal devotion time this morning that's what you want to get when you're in your personal devotion time that's part of the stuff you want to get you want to come to the light look you weren't looking for the light out there this week you weren't getting much light out there this week you might have been the only light out there this week it's dark out there and it's getting darker so personal your personal devotion time hopefully you have that and I don't know what your times are you know

[24:28] I got I do I do I do my morning stuff and I I get up early in the morning I get up according to what I have to when I have to get out the door I'm just going to say this if all you got time for is five minutes in the morning we need to talk you know there's a lot of minutes in a day five of those probably ain't going to get it and you definitely ain't going to get all these done in five minutes all right but you know you may be you may you know what did well who was it was it was it David that said evening morning and at noon not a bad thing to do you read you read other saints that have that have pioneered the path that we take they didn't get they didn't get the term they pioneered it by accident they got it because they actually pioneered so your personal devotion time hopefully you have something there you know

[25:47] Jesus when he talked to Peter right when they were in the garden and he had some of them disciples go with him right and he went back and he was sleeping right and he told him could you not what could you not watch with me one hour look I don't I'm not going to tell you you got to be you got to give yourself an hour every morning hint hint I'm just going to say that you know find you something that you think God will be happy with and five minutes is not it so just forget about the five minute thing just kidding you know you know it's part of growth I get it but there ain't nothing wrong with looking at the scripture and going Jesus told Peter could you not watch me one hour maybe you ought to spend an hour doing doing all this stuff do direction time try to get some time with the Lord I mean that's there you go so the word of

[26:52] God read your Bible read your Bible and so here's how many have ever heard this the word of God is our final authority for all matters of faith and practice how many have heard that okay there's a good amount of people that have heard that if you have not heard that write it down somewhere and pass it on because that's who we are that's another thing that's part of our stripe we so believe the word of God it is our final authority for all matters of faith and practice it ought to be our final go-to it ought to actually be our first go-to but it has the final word so get right with God read your Bible how about something else number the three the third thing which you should do every time you have devotion yeah I'm just telling you what

[27:54] I've learned over 40 years of Christian you don't agree with me all right you can come see me after if you want you want to tell hey I don't believe we ought to have to pray you know okay okay I don't know where we go with that but there's the third thing is in your devotion time you ought to be praying you know and prayer is not necessarily God please bless so and so and do this for so and so and bless me and it's not necessarily that it's just that communion see you have the Holy Spirit if you're saved dwelling inside okay there's stuff going on when you take time aside with God that's going back and forth and that's you're in prayer is what you are yes there are those certain things we do like you ought to have a prayer list if you don't have a prayer list get one start today right but you're not going to remember everybody to pray for you're not going to do it and if you're like me when it comes down to time to pray you can think of everything else but pray huh so you want to have something you can focus on

[29:15] God bless so and so that person needs help you know or whatever you know we got it pretty good but there's plenty of people that don't you know Mrs.

[29:32] Russell Brother Russell there missionaries of Mexico I can't imagine what goes through the mind of them that's a tough place to be just a tough place to be my dad after ministering for 30 something years in the hospitals and you know just people getting saved every week and just just just that's full time just just all he did and now he's home bound that's tough that stuff's tough so we need to pray for them people we owe that you know there's a little booklet in the back if you go through the fellowship hall look on the shelf to the left there there's some books I believe it's up there little book by Ian Bounds on prayer it's I think it's a power through prayer Ian Bounds if you haven't read that book I recommend you read it it's a short must read and he says prayer ought to be something that we are very engaged in look at

[30:48] Psalms 96 just you know considering a couple verses that just kind of in reading Psalms 96 in verse 8 it says give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name bring an offering and coming to his courts that's what we need to do we ought to be going into his courts you know the Bible says that we come boldly before the throne of grace do you hey you know what if you can't come boldly before the throne of grace get there get there anyway you need to that's where you should be approaching when I'm praying when I'm praying I'm as far as I'm concerned that's why that's why I'm meeting my every mouth Psalms 100 Psalms 100 and verse 4 says make a joyful no no verse 4 enter into his gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise be thankful unto him and bless his name that's what we ought to be doing we need to be coming before the

[32:05] God of the universe you know God is good he's a good God and there's plenty of people out there you know they read something in the Bible and they go God's not look he's so far beyond us that when you question what he's doing you are questioning the creator of the universe if you don't understand it let it ride and stay with it because you only have one other choice and that's don't believe when I talk to somebody that's an evolutionist or doesn't believe in God I just tell okay what's your other choice besides believe in what I'm telling you you can believe we came from a boom you know what nothing has been created from a big boom except for the smiley face on the 4th of July and fireworks but you know what after billions and billions of years that's pretty shallow if that's what you're banking on

[33:11] I feel sorry for you but what's your other choice in Christianity you get down in the dumps about something you start getting sideways on the Lord about something you better just remember one thing what is your other choice you'll be making a big mistake you start heading down the wrong road because you're going to get before that God one day you want to be right there you may have messed up plenty in life but you don't want to be messed up when you get there I remember Pastor Dave talking about prayer and one of the big things he talked about in prayer was intercessory prayer that's a real important part of our prayer life ought to be praying for someone else I get it you got problems I get it you need things and all that yeah put that in there because God told us to do that but most of your prayer time ought to be in worship of the father and interceding for others and like

[34:23] I said once again that resorts back I have a list of pastors I try to pray for them on Saturday and Sunday and possibly on Wednesday knowing they're getting to the pulpits I got the missionaries front and back and I don't even know if some of them are still alive I'll take my chances I try to research them I find out some of them died years ago I don't think God's going to hold it against me but you know this is something that can take me through time whereas if I just went you know I'm going to pray for missionaries today who can I remember good luck good luck on that one same thing with the pastors across this country they need prayer they're being attacked by this world and by some of the members in their churches okay we'll try to leave that alone plenty of verses on prayer

[35:25] I don't think I have to say much more about that you know you should pray praying always with all prayer and supplication in the spirit with thanksgiving right is just I don't know pray without ceasing right I mean it's all there that's something else something else number four is return in Hebrews chapter 12 Hebrews chapter 12 12 so we're talking about your personal devotion time and things that you can incorporate in there and I'm just giving you some things that I've learned over the as I look back some things I've incorporated in there Hebrews chapter 12 Hebrews chapter 12 and verse 1 it says wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses let us lay aside every weight and the sin which does so easily beset us and let us run with patience the race that is set before us and number number four would be look at the witness profiles look at the witness profiles so for me

[36:26] I have these I have some of these things by my bed in my nightstand and it's something I do a lot of times before I go to sleep is I put my glasses on and pick up one of these things you know it says wherefore seeing we are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses and you know if you just look at those witnesses in Hebrews 11 that'll be good that'll be good plenty of them in there but there are plenty more that you can read about and be encouraged in this day of people that are still serving God look at the witness profiles read about them learn about them what does your library look like you may say I don't have a library get one you may say oh I my library has to do with fiction and love stories and and popular mechanics and national geographics and fix that those that's not what your library should be full of witness profiles now

[37:47] I don't I don't I don't say that you should replace your Bible reading with those don't do that but these are things to incorporate into your devotion time if you incorporate the the witness profiles you will be doing what Hebrews chapter 12 verse 1 says you know don't raise your hand but how many want to do that right shouldn't that be a duh right everyone should want to do that I want to lay aside every weight and the sin which does so easily beset us it's kind of like asking a question how many of you want to be holy I get it we're in the way to see in Christianity today it's hard to get somebody to say yeah I want to be holy really I say hey I'm like you I sit in the same pew as you sit in and when that word comes across me it's just unattainable but

[38:51] I should strive to get there I should strive to be there I should want to right so witness profiles incorporate them into your devotion time it'll be good for you I'm talking about stuff that's good for you okay these things are good right okay all right number five and I'm watching the clock number five look at Hebrews chapter 11 Hebrews chapter 11 I want you to look at something Hebrews 11 and it says in verse 13 through 16 of Hebrews 11 it says these all died in faith talking about the heroes here not having received the promise but having seen them afar off and were persuaded of them and embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth for they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country and truly if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out they might have had opportunity to have returned but now they desire a better country that is in heavenly wherefore

[40:11] God is not ashamed to be called their God for he hath prepared for them a city man there's a lot going on in that verse in that passage but the point I want to make is something else to incorporate into your daily devotion time is declare you are a stranger and a pilgrim here huh when you're in your devotion time it isn't a matter of hey God you're okay with what I'm doing you know hang loose man no you need to declare plainly in your devotion time you need to approach that thing with I am a stranger and a pilgrim here you need to come in with the right mindset it isn't God give me a good time at Disneyland what are you going to do for me today huh look I think we should enjoy life I think we should enjoy the things that

[41:14] God has given us and that are available but folks we need to draw close to God he's a holy righteous God that wants people saved and wants to be worshipped rightfully so and we need to come approach the right way and have our mindset right it says in this passage it says these all died in faith verse 13 having received the promises but having but not having not received the promises but seen them afar off and were persuaded of them and embraced them okay is that you I hope so and confess that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth for they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country okay and truly where are they verse 15 and truly if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out they might have had opportunity to have returned you get it we are not supposed to be of this world because we are strangers and pilgrims here but if you keep looking at that world and it keeps captivating you and you don't make this declaration you may find opportunity to return you don't want to do that you don't want to do that you are a stranger and a pilgrim here all right make the declaration number five something else got a couple more let me see where we're at number six look at

[43:11] Matthew chapter five Matthew chapter five everybody should know this verse I understand it's doctrinally for Israel but you know that's the nice thing about the things that are doctrinally for Israel if you can take them practically hey grab something we're talking about the mind of God if God tells Israel hey man I don't like this and it's not having to do with the law that you're not under then you look at you hey man God doesn't like that God doesn't like that he likes this he didn't decide he was going to like it because of you he didn't decide you're so special that hey you know what I'm gonna change my ways it doesn't work like that Matthew chapter five verse 16 it says let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your father which is in heaven you can take that right I understand it was doctrinally for Israel but it's good for you too you're a light right you are sorry you shine you shine light

[44:13] I understand you're just a reflector I get it but your light should be shining let your light shine before men that they may see a good work so in your personal devotion time one of the things I incorporate in there is I pray that God will help me be a light to somebody I may not get the opportunity to talk to the person but I can have such an attitude as maybe we'll point that will expose the Lord I saw your shirt last week a few weeks back you can wear a shirt that somebody is going to see something you can say something that you know praise the Lord my legs feel better today and you get to explain yourself I don't know find opportunity to be a light this world is dark if you don't know how dark this world is you know we can have this conversation this world is getting darker every day let your light shine you know and there's people that probably think you know hey that's

[46:25] Holy Ghost and you are not your own you bought with a price I understand I understand we live in the nasty now and now and it's hard to just get through the day sometimes without just messing up I get it but I'm trying to help you in your daily devotion time that you should be having if you're not having that remember that was message number one that's what you should be doing if you don't have any personal devotion time hey look you're done you're messed up I don't what to tell you it's not going to get the blessings of God and live for God without having some relationship with God I don't know that's just like simple math to me I don't know simple math so you need to remember your body is the temple of the

[47:28] Holy Ghost 1 Corinthians chapter 6 1 Corinthians chapter 6 and verse 19 there it says what know you not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you which you have of God and you are not your own man I understand you know it's hard for us in the lay to see in church to get that you know it's an everyday thing all of a sudden you're out there say tomorrow the first thing you do when you wake up tomorrow is quote that verse to yourself and see how it works for you and right away you're going oh man I got plans man I got things I want to do I got things I need to do God you want to interrupt that and give me something to do but we got to be brought back to reality and I think that will help you if you do it in your devotion time is you remember remind yourself that your body is a temple of the

[48:31] Holy Ghost which is in you which you have of God and really truthfully you're not your own for we are brought with a price therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit which are God's that we would do well to incorporate that into our devotion time that we we are his we're not we're not alone all right there are just a few things that I've learned over the years pass them on if you've got number number eight nine and ten great I'm not I'm not the final authority I don't I don't you know I don't know everything but I know some things that I've learned over the years that I believe have really helped me and being that I've read some of these people and some of these other great warriors of the faith this is what they do this is some of the things they do so let's pray father we are thankful for thy word and

[49:41] I pray for thy people that we would definitely have devotion time and those may be here this morning that don't have much of it or it's very sporadic or they find only little time for it that they would realize this morning their need to have this personal devotion time with thee God I pray that they would see this morning the need to incorporate certain things in there and it isn't just about asking all the things for me or not including you in our worship but I pray that you would help them to see some of these things and apply them that it will be a blessing to them and a blessing to you in Jesus name amen alright brother
