[0:00] Welcome to y'all to our service this morning. We come together to worship God and we look to him to endow us with his spirit as we wait upon him to that end.

[0:17] We can begin by singing to God's praise from Psalm 139. Psalm 139 and we're going to sing from verse 7 down to verse 14.

[0:34] Six stanzas from verse 7. From thy spirit whither shall I go or from thy presence fly. Ascend I heaven, lo thou art there, there if in hell I lie.

[0:49] Take I the morning wings and dwell in utmost parts of sea. Even there, Lord, shall thy hand me lead. Thy right hand hold shall me.

[1:02] If I do say the darkness shall me cover from thy sight, then surely shall the very night about me be as light. Yea, darkness hideth not from thee, but night doth shine as day.

[1:16] To thee the darkness and the light are both alike on way. For thou possessed hast my reins, and thou hast covered me.

[1:28] When I within my mother's womb enclosed was by thee, thee will I praise, for fearfully and strangely made I am. Thy works are marvellous, and right well my soul doth know the same.

[1:45] And so on, we can sing these verses. Psalm 139, singing from verse 7. From thy spirit whither shall I go or from thy presence fly.

[1:58] From thy spirit whither shall I go or from thy presence fly.

[2:17] Ascent, I am, O Lord, you are there.

[2:27] Faith, in hell I lie. Keep I the morning wish and dwell.

[2:44] In thy voice, O Lord, you are there. In the Lord's heart so see. Even there, Lord, shall thy hand me lead.

[3:02] Thy light and hope shall mean. If I do say that God bless shall me come from thy sight.

[3:28] Then surely shall I be the very night. Then surely shall I be the very night. A heart may be the light.

[3:46] The darkness shall be the light. The darkness shall be the light.

[3:57] The light shall be the light. The light shall be the light. To thee the darkness and the light.

[4:12] That would thou light. That would thou light your name. For thou possessest thy grace.

[4:31] And thou hast covered me. Where I will in my mother's womb.

[4:48] In thy womb. In those it was thine. In the Lord's womb. In the Lord's womb. He will thy place firefully, and singe thee amid thy hand.

[5:14] Thy works are manless and right where thy soul doth no other sin.

[5:34] Let us join together in prayer. Let us sing. O Lord our God, as we come before you at this time of worship, we give thanks that we can call upon your name, and that we have a promise set before us that when we call, that you will answer.

[5:57] And even though there are occasions when we cry to God and we despair of ever hearing your answer, the complaint that comes from our hearts is that we find the heavens as brass before us and the earth as iron beneath our feet.

[6:21] We fear that the one to whom we have turned will not turn to us. And yet you have ways of answering that far exceed our asking.

[6:37] So do not allow us even at this time to despair of seeking great things from your hands, for you are a mighty God. You are the almighty, all-knowing, all-seeing God, as we have been singing.

[6:56] Your servant on a journey discovered for himself afresh what it was to be under the all-seeing gaze of God, realizing that there was no place in this world that he could find himself, that God was not there.

[7:16] Not even beyond this world, the place that we know and that we confidently are assured of by way of our experience.

[7:30] Yet there are things beyond this world of which your word speaks. There is a heaven and there is a hell. And you have said that you are in both places.

[7:44] And we acknowledge the awesome nature of what that tells us. We pray for an understanding of what heaven is really all about.

[7:58] Just as surely as we would understand in a measure what hell is all about, we find often people saying that their experience in this world at a given time was hellish.

[8:12] That it was equivalent to what they thought hell was like. And yet, no matter how grievous the experience is, there is nothing like the reality.

[8:24] We acknowledge the wisdom that you have said that it has no bounds other than the bounds that you have set upon it. Those who enter in will in no wise come out.

[8:37] We acknowledge the wisdom that you have said that it has no bounds other than the bounds of the world. Known to us, the way of salvation in Christ Jesus.

[8:51] We bless you that where we are today, not just in the sense of a physical location, where we are geographically. And in many respects, those in the world, many of them, have no notion of where we are.

[9:08] They do not know these islands as we do. They do not know these villages as we do. There are many times we have encountered people and we have told them of where we are from.

[9:23] And they have no idea as to where we are. But whether that is true or not, just as it is true of us that we may not know the places that speak of their habitation, whether it is in the south of England or South America, it matters little.

[9:46] Our ignorance does not mean that there is a God in heaven who does not know, because your knowledge is not limited like ours. But more than that, not only do you know where we are physically, you know where we are spiritually.

[10:03] As we present ourselves in the midst of your people here today, you know where we are. Whether we are hard intent on seeking your face or simply here to fulfill duty.

[10:19] O preserve us from neglecting the needs of our soul to the satisfaction of others, even the satisfaction of our own conscience. Rather, may we seek the face and the favour of God that you may liberate us from what binds us by way of ignorance in this world.

[10:41] We pray for redemption. We pray for liberation. We pray for a power that is unheard of in our experience to be felt by us even today.

[10:54] that we may know the shackles that enchant us being severed and the powers of heaven unleashed, that we may sense that we are in the presence of God, and that Jesus Christ is in our midst, ready to save and to bring to himself young and old alike.

[11:17] Wherever we are, may you come to where we are and bring us to yourself. So help us to bow down in your presence. May you rend the heavens asunder and come down.

[11:31] We pray, Lord, for the quickening spirit. We pray for a prayerful intent, even in the part of your people, that they may remind themselves of what they were like until you came into their experience and brought freedom from the bondage that they so miserably endured.

[11:55] We give thanks for the joy that was theirs as they experienced such liberation. Even the sight of Christ, one that was as a root out of a dry ground to them, becoming altogether lovely.

[12:12] Hear our prayers, we pray, that you may come into our midst, even at this time. Remember our homes, our families, all that are near and dear to us.

[12:26] Visit us in mercy, those that we commit to your care and keeping that are unwell at this time. May they experience recovery. May health be restored.

[12:38] For young and old alike, we remember them to you. There are many sicknesses and dullnesses amongst us at the present, and we pray for all who are undergoing such experiences.

[12:51] Bless those who are confined to their homes, those who are cared for in hospital, those who are being cared for in homes for the elderly, those who are experiencing terminal care.

[13:08] We pray, Lord, for all experiences under the eye of God. May you tenderly bind up the wounds that need to be healed.

[13:19] We pray for the grieving and the sorrowful. The voice of death is seldom silent, and here and there we hear that voice speak to us.

[13:30] Even in the last few days, we have been in company with those who are sad and brokenhearted, because you have taken from them in the twinkling, those that were part of their life from their conception.

[13:46] Lord, we pray for all whose tears are salty and bitter today. So remember them all throughout the world. We think of the world that is in a veil of tears.

[13:59] Think of our nation that are wayward and forgetful and negligent with regard to the things of God. May the Spirit of the Almighty be poured out upon us as a nation.

[14:11] May we as a kingdom and parliaments know the visitation of the King of Kings.

[14:22] And may the presence of that King, even as he entered into the temple of old, and as the hem of his garment filled the very temple with a sense of his glory, may it be so.

[14:41] In all the churches of our land, the cathedrals, the tabernacles, be they what they are, whatever they are, may they be truly the house of God, because God has visited these places.

[14:55] Lord, remember the nations of the earth. We think of those who are experiencing the griefs and sorrows of war, the destruction that is so evident, and yet we are distant from it.

[15:10] Do not allow us to be aloof, or to be experiencing lack of understanding or appreciation of the deprivation that war has brought into so many lives.

[15:26] When we think of a winter's day, and the elderly cast out on the streets with all they have but the clothing on their back, we think of them and their frailty, we think of the infants in arms who are struggling for life.

[15:43] We pray, Lord, that you would mercifully undertake for us. Hear our prayers. We cannot contemplate this world continuing as it is, without the God of heaven bearing his arm and bringing to account those who are responsible for the sorrows of men.

[16:02] You will do so in your own time, we know, but we fear for the many who have to suffer for so long a time. Hear our prayers we ask.

[16:14] Bless our gathering. Bless your word that we read, and all that we have from your hand. May it be food to our souls. May it take away our thirst, and may we be satisfied.

[16:28] Forgive us in Jesus. Amen. I'm going to read in the Old Testament Scriptures, and we're reading from the book of the prophet Jonah.

[16:41] The book of the prophet Jonah. We're going to read chapters 2 and chapters 3. Jonah chapter 2, reading into chapter 3.

[16:56] Then Jonah prayed unto the Lord his God, out of the fish's belly, and said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the Lord, and he heard me.

[17:10] Out of the belly of hell I cried, and thou heardest my voice. For thou hadst cast me into the deep in the midst of the seas, and the floods compassed me about.

[17:24] All thy billows and thy waves passed over me. Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight. Yet I will look again toward thy holy temple.

[17:36] The waters compassed me about, even to the soul. The depth closed me round about. The weeds were wrapped about my head. I went down to the bottoms of the mountains.

[17:49] The earth with her barge was above me forever. Yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption. O Lord my God, when my soul fainted within me, I remembered the Lord, and my prayer came unto me, into thee, into thine holy temple.

[18:10] They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy, but I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving. I will pay that that I have vowed.

[18:24] Salvation is of the Lord. And the Lord spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land. And the word of the Lord came unto Jonah the second time, saying, Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee.

[18:43] So Jonah arose and went unto Nineveh, according to the word of the Lord. Now Nineveh was an exceeding great city of three days' journey.

[18:55] And Jonah began to enter into the city of her days' journey, and cried and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown.

[19:05] So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth from the greatest of them, even to the least of them.

[19:18] For word came unto the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he laid his robe from him, and covered him with sackcloth, and sat in ashes.

[19:31] And he caused it to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste anything.

[19:44] Let them not feed nor drink water, but let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God. Yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands.

[20:02] Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not? And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way, and God repented of the evil that he had said that he would do unto them, and he did it not.

[20:26] And so on then, may the Lord add his blessing to a reading of his word, and to his name be the praise. How many of you stood in front of the mirror today, before you came to church?

[20:48] I don't need to spend a lot of time there, believe it or not, for one reason or another. Just let your own imagination think of it.

[20:59] But I didn't. But I'm sure some of you did. And some of you spent longer than others in front of the mirror. And I wonder if you remember what you saw when you stood in front of the mirror.

[21:19] That's a silly question. Do you remember what you saw when you stood in front of the mirror? Oh, you're saying, I've seen it before. I'm sure I'll remember.

[21:30] I've got a good idea of what it's like what I saw. But the Bible says to us that the Bible is a mirror, and that some people look into the mirror, and they very quickly forget what they saw in the mirror.

[21:51] That seems surprising. My thoughts went to this because this week I was in company with some people, and they were talking about this.

[22:03] And one of them said something that is proverbial, and that is that the eye of a friend is a mirror.

[22:15] Did you know that? that a friend can show you things that you probably were not aware of.

[22:27] That's what it's saying. Shahr, skahan, sur, carriage. The thing is that I have a mirror like that in my house as well.

[22:44] And while I may not look very often in the other mirror, this mirror very often speaks to me.

[22:56] Have you heard of a speaking mirror? I know there's a there's a story. It's a fable, a fairy story.

[23:07] But there was a mirror there, and the person who stood in front of the mirror said, mirror, mirror, on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?

[23:19] You know the story. Well, my mirror doesn't say that to me. But my mirror tells me if something is out of place.

[23:36] If I've got jam on my cheeks, if I wasn't careful when I was eating my toast or whatever. But there's more important things that our friends need to tell us about.

[23:51] And that, again, is something the Bible tells us. The Bible tells us that there is a mirror, and we look into it, and it shows us what we are like.

[24:06] and that we are wise to look into this mirror so that we can know what we are like. And if what we are like, we do not like, then the Bible also tells us what needs to change.

[24:25] And if we are doing something wrong, if we are going to wrong places, if we have a friend, who is a true friend, that friend will speak to us and say to us, what you are doing is not right.

[24:45] What you are doing, you shouldn't be doing. And that's a faithful friend. And it's a mirror that the Bible commends to us. So these two things I want you to think about today.

[24:59] the Bible as God's word is a mirror which we look into and make sure we don't forget what we see when we look into it.

[25:13] And if we have a friend, or if we are a friend to others, and they need to be told, or we need to be told, that there is something wrong, then we should learn to listen to what they have to say to us, and do it.

[25:33] And God, I'm sure, will bless us for it. We're going to sing now as you go out to some discourse and verses from Psalm 103. Psalm 103.

[25:47] Again, we're going to sing six stanzas from verse 8. Six stanzas from verse 8. Psalm 103. The Lord, our God, is merciful, and he is gracious, long suffering, and slow to wrath, in mercy plenteous.

[26:06] He will not chide continually, nor keep his anger still. With us he dealt, not as we sin, nor did requite our will. For as the heaven in its height, the earth surmounted far, so great to those that do him fear, as tendered messes are.

[26:25] As far as east is distant from the west, so far hath he from us removed in his love all our iniquity. Such pity as our father hath, and to his children dear, like pity shows the Lord, to such as worship him in fear, for he remembers we are dust, and he our frame well knows.

[26:51] Frail man, his days are like the grass as flower in field he grows, and so on. We'll sing these verses 8-15 of Psalm 103, the Lord our God is merciful, and he is gracious.

[27:06] Lord God is merciful and he is gracious long suffering and to to rot in mercy than he is he will not jive continually nor keep his angu still with the seed and not a sweet end nor be quite alone for does the heaven in his light be air that marked us but so great to those that you did his象 get heard on the way so far .

[41:42] . . . . . . Go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it, for their wickedness has come up before me.

[41:59] He knew God's voice. He heard God's voice. He understood what God was saying to him. And yet, the prophet forgot God.

[42:13] It seems impossible for him to forget who God is. You read on in chapter 1. And down to verse 9. And he said unto them, when he was in the store, he had to explain who he was.

[42:28] He had to explain how he came to be there. How did he describe himself? Well, he said, I am a Hebrew, and fear the Lord, the God of heaven, which hath made the sea and the dry land.

[42:43] A very clear grasp of who God is. This God that is my God is the God who is the creator God.

[42:54] And yet, when we get to the second chapter, he is described there as having forgotten him. And not only that, Jonah, we believe, has a perfect understanding, at one point at least, that God knows who he is.

[43:19] Not only that he knows who he is. But that God knows who he is. And where he is. And what he is. And where he is spiritually.

[43:29] He understands that perfectly. And he does. Now, the thing is this.

[43:41] If that can be true of God's servant. If that can be true about somebody that God has appointed to be his voice piece in the world.

[43:53] Speaking the truth to the world. It can be true of any one of us. Whoever we are. Whether we are believers or unbelievers.

[44:05] Whether we know the truth of God. Have heard the truth of God. Have been taught it from a mother's knee or not. We can forget God. Even when we know the scripture as many of us do.

[44:22] When the Bible has been taught to us and we have memorized it. And there are tracts of scripture that we have laid up in our hearts. We can forget God.

[44:35] And is that not something to think about? Where does God appear in your memory today?

[44:53] How strong a grasp do you have of who God is? Do you have anything at all to say about him?

[45:04] Other than that he's a vague notion. You know, there are clouds and there are low clouds. And there are medium high clouds. And there are clouds that are way out in the outer atmosphere.

[45:17] And the further out you go, the vaguer. The less distinct they may be. And sometimes that's the way God is to some of the people.

[45:30] There was an American preacher by the name of Daniel March. And he was speaking about Jonah like this. And those who were listening to Jonah are not listening to Jonah.

[45:44] And those who listen and don't listen to the preaching of the gospel. He says this. Alas, he says, mistaken men. They little think that there are no dangers.

[45:56] So much to be dreaded as those which must be met in attempting to flee from duty. They think it a hard message and they cannot receive it.

[46:09] So they flee from the sanctuary. And shun the society of God's servants. That's a description of some people.

[46:28] They stifle their convictions in their shut and suffering hearts. It's a description of many people today.

[46:44] Their life is a struggle from morning to night. They're miserable. And they don't know why they're miserable.

[46:55] And they don't know where to turn with their misery. But anything is better than God. To go on in their misery is better than have God be allowed access to their lives.

[47:11] So they shut him out. And there are so many like that. Who go on in their misery. And who shun God's provision of a remedy in the person of Jesus Christ.

[47:28] Come back to Jonah. Jonah forgot God. And he fainted with fear, we are told.

[47:41] My soul fainted within me. When he decided to flee from God. And from duty.

[47:52] From what God had told him that he must do. It did not bring relief. You would have thought that it would. Because that's what he wanted.

[48:06] Whatever he wanted to do. He didn't want to do what God wanted him to do. And he decided, I'm not going to do it. And in order not to do it, he went away from God.

[48:17] He went away as far away from God as possible. But did that bring relief? Did that bring peace? Did that bring satisfaction?

[48:30] No, it brought misery. It brought grief. It brought sorrow. It brought sadness. Because, as I said, even though he turned from God.

[48:42] God was meeting him in the way. Whether he recognised him initially or not. Many, like Jonah, embark on a path that takes them away from God.

[48:56] And they think that by so doing, they will remove the impression of God from their hearts. From their lives. They will do what that preacher said.

[49:08] They will stifle God. They will purge him out from their existence. But that might be the case for a while.

[49:24] Indeed, for Jonah, it might well have been the case. And, you know, I didn't really give it much thought until I was reading this.

[49:34] It's the distance that Jonah had to go in order to deliver the message that God gave him to deliver. And he had to travel by foot in order to do it.

[49:48] And that gave him ample opportunity, if he had gone on that road, to reflect on what he was doing. But he went the opposite direction. Taking as much time. And the same would have been through.

[50:00] He would have had to reflect on what he was doing. It wasn't like jumping on a plane and taking you in the opposite direction. He had to walk every step of the way. And every waking moment, he would have thoughts about where he was going, what he was doing.

[50:16] And all kinds of other encounters might well have accentuated his fears. But Jonah, you see, everything worked out well for him initially.

[50:30] And he could have argued it was fortuitous. The board was waiting. And so on and so forth. I remember hearing of a preacher.

[50:43] And that preacher fell out with God. He fell out with God. He fell out of the path of God's...

[50:55] Of being obedient to God. And his disobedience was not obvious to anyone.

[51:09] Other than God and himself in many ways. And his confession was that he went on preaching the gospel as before.

[51:21] And it seemed that people were accepting his message. People were pleased with the message of the gospel that he had to proclaim.

[51:32] And he believed. Even though at the same time he knew. It can't possibly be the case.

[51:44] That he was out of step with God. And yet God was pleased to own and honour his labour. Until everything came tumbling down around his ears.

[51:55] And until he, just like Jonah, in the middle of a storm. The word sleeper awake brought him to his senses.

[52:12] God's servant needed to be plunged into the depths before. The terror of the Lord filled him. And left him with nothing.

[52:25] But the ability to cry out to God in mercy. That's the way that God allowed Jonah. To go as far as he did.

[52:39] Until he brought him back to himself. And I was thinking to myself. You know these words that we have at the beginning.

[52:51] Of the chapter. I said. He said. I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the Lord. And he heard me. The affliction came.

[53:06] And the affliction made him cry. And you say. Well that's what needs to happen. That's what needs to happen.

[53:18] In order for me to come to God. If that is what needs to happen. Then so be it you see. I'll be like Jonah.

[53:29] God will intervene. God will bring me to himself. Oh but. Oh but you can't see. Look at what it says.

[53:41] Out of the belly of hell cried I. Out of the belly of hell. How many of us want to go into hell in order.

[53:53] That God would intervene in our lives. And bring him to. Bring us to himself. In one sense it was a good place to be in.

[54:07] But in another. Who would want to be there. God's servant needed to be plunged into the depths. Yes. But it was.

[54:20] At one and the same time. The best place. And the worst place. If you can actually see. That to be the case. What needs to happen.

[54:36] To make you remember God. What needs to happen. In your life. To make you remember God. You who have forgotten God.

[54:49] The things that you have been taught. And that have been reinforced. In your heart. And mind. Throughout your years. Things that are pleasant.

[55:01] Things that are encouraging. Things that tells you. And you believe. You're saying. Well Jesus. Is the person. That is the saviour of sinners. And you've heard that.

[55:11] And to a degree. You believe it. But he's not your redeemer. He's not your saviour. He's not the person. That you go to. Whenever there is trouble.

[55:24] What needs to happen. For that to change. What needs to happen. To make you remember God.

[55:36] Does there need to be a hell. Is the question. Does there need to be. The griefs.

[55:47] And the sorrows. And the miseries. Of coming to the end. Of your tether. And discovering. That God is waiting for you there. In order for you to appreciate.

[55:59] That he is waiting for you there. Surely it is wiser for you to understand.

[56:10] That the only true place of safety. Is within the will of God. Doing what God says to you. Which is come. Come to me he says.

[56:22] All ye that labour. And are heavy laden. The invitation is simple. All you have is obedience. And you will be rewarded. But not to go away.

[56:33] Until you find him waiting for you. With whatever. Persuasive. Means he uses. To bring you to himself. I told you before. Of somebody who wanted conviction.

[56:45] About the. The need that their soul had. And they wanted hell. They wanted God to prove to them. There was a hell. And they got their wish.

[56:57] And they would never again. Want to be. In that place. Even though. Even though God gave them. What they wanted. But Jonah.

[57:10] He cried. Out of the belly. Of hell. We find some words. In verse 8.

[57:21] That seem out of place. We read there. They that observe lying. Vanities. Forsake their own mercy. And I was looking at these words.

[57:34] In the context. And I was saying. What. What place. What bearing. Do these words have. If you read. The translation. In the ESV.

[57:45] What the ESV says is. Those who. Pay regard. To vain idols. Forsake. Their hope. Of steadfast love.

[57:58] And. In the. New English. Translation. Those who. Worship. Worthless idols. Forfeit. The mercy. That could be theirs. Forfeiters. So.

[58:08] So. Why. Why these words. At this point. Well. It's in the sense. I think. Anyway. That Jonah.

[58:21] Is. Discovering. That his relationship. With God. Is no better. Than the relationship.

[58:32] Of the idolaters. The relationship. Of those. Who worship. False gods. And until. God. Brings that.

[58:43] Home. To him. Then the very. Thing. That God. Is most. Precious. To him. For. Is forfeited. By him.

[58:53] I think. It compares. The behavior. Of Jonah. As he went. Away. From God. As he.

[59:04] Forgot God. To those. Idolaters. But. This is the thing. Even though. That is the case.

[59:15] There is a but. When my soul. Fainted within me. I remembered. The Lord. And my prayer. Came unto. Thee. And to thine. Holy temple.

[59:26] But I will sacrifice. Unto thee. With the voice. Of thanksgiving. I will pay. That which. That. That I have vowed. Salvation is of the Lord.

[59:38] I think. That but. Could be placed. Sort of at the center. Of everything. That is descriptive. Of. Of Jonah's. Repentance.

[59:50] Here is somebody. Who was sent. With a message. Of repentance. To Nunavut. And he. Himself. Needed to. Repent. Before he was. To deliver.

[60:01] That message. And he needed. To discover. For himself. Who God was. The God. That he forgot. The God. That he went away from.

[60:12] The God. That he. Disobeyed. The God. That he chose. To live. Life. Without. Once he.

[60:23] Experienced. Hell. Once he. Experienced. The depth. Once he. Experienced. What God. Had done. I.

[60:36] Remembered. I. Prayed. My heart. Was upon. The house. Of God. I will. Sacrifice. He says. I will. Pay the. The. The. The. The. The. The. The. The. The.

[60:46] The. The. Most. Wonderful. Of all. The. Confession. Salvation. Is. Of. The. Lord. A. Recognition. Not. Only. Of. Need. But.

[60:57] Where. That. Need. Is. To. Be. Met. Who. In. His. Right. Mind. Would. Want. The. Experience.

[61:07] Of. Jonah. And. Maybe. You're. Saying. Yes. I. Would. Go. Back. To. Verse.

[61:18] Two. Again. Out. Of. The. Belly. Of. Hell. Cried. I. And. Though. Hurts. My. Voice. He. Was. In. Sheol. And.

[61:30] Not. Everybody. Has. This. Experience. Nor. Do. They. Need. To. The. Preacher. Scots. Divine. Hugh. Martin. Wrote.

[61:40] The. Following. God. Has. An. Angry. Controversy. With. Jonah. And. He. Describes. It. In. The. Following. Terms.

[62:00] Hundred. Fold. More. So. Coming. As. Messengers. Of. Divine. Anger. Executioners. Of. The. Sentence. Of. God's.

[62:10] Displeasure. You see. What he's saying. Everything. That. Jonah. Describes. As. His.

[62:21] Experience. He. Describes. Them. As. Experiences. That. That. Is. Because. Of. God's. Displeasure. Because.

[62:32] He. Has. Wronged. God. He. Has. Offended. God. He. Has. Gone. On. A. Road. That. Took. Him. Away. From. God. And. Yet. With.

[62:43] With. The. Experience. Comes. Recognition. That. God. God. Was. Stealing. With. And. Because. Of. His. Disobedience. The.
