[0:00] We'll begin by singing to God's praise, Psalm 100, the first version of the psalm. All people that on earth do well, sing to the Lord with cheerful voice, and sell with mirth his praise forth tell. Come ye before him and rejoice.
[0:22] Know that the Lord is God indeed, without our aid he did us make. We are his flock he doth us feed, and for his sheep he doth us take.
[0:33] O enter then his gates with praise, approach with joy his courts unto. Praise Lord and bless his name always, for it is seemly so to do.
[0:45] For while the Lord our God is good, his mercy is forever sure, his truth at all times firmly stood, and shone from page to page.
[0:58] In due of the whole of the first version of Psalm 100, to God's praise, all people that on earth do well. All people that on earth do well, sing to the Lord with cheerful voice.
[1:26] Him said, with earth his praise forth tell. Come ye before him and rejoice.
[1:47] Know that the Lord is God indeed. With our God indeed. With our God indeed he did us make.
[2:06] We are his flock he doth us feed, and for his sheep he doth us take.
[2:25] O enter in his gates with praise, approached with joy his doors unto, praise, love, and bless his name always, are it his angry soul to do?
[3:05] For why the Lord outrothed his good, his mercy is forever sure, his truth that all times learn is good, and shall prove it to each and your.
[3:42] Let us join together in prayer. Let us pray. O Lord our God, as we come before you and commence our worship with the singing of these words that are familiar to many, we bless your holy name that these words speak the truth concerning the God who is God over all.
[4:15] And we pray that the sentiments expressed would be felt within our hearts with the same reality that they speak of, that we would acknowledge the power of God to be something that we have experienced in our own lives, not only testifying to the exertion of that power in the world in which we have being and move and live and know something of a God who is God over all.
[5:03] There are many who may not share our faith. There are many who may not have as yet experienced the awesome power of God in salvation.
[5:19] And yet looking about them, they cannot but conceive of the reality of a God being behind what they surveyed.
[5:30] whether they are able to formulate these thoughts into a meaningful appreciation of the power of God in creation or not.
[5:43] We know that blindness accompanies the form and the ability to discern the fullness of the deity in what we surveyed is clearly evident.
[6:01] And yet, O Lord, we know from your word that no matter how much we try and stifle or even cauterize our conscience against the evidence of our senses, that they will testify against us at their last because of the fact that we have suppressed the truth and that we will be held accountable to you for that.
[6:31] So help us in your worship to engage with you meaningfully at the throne of grace, seeking your blessing, seeking your help even when we feel ourselves not able to enter into a meaningful experience experience of what worship is.
[6:52] For you want us to worship you in spirit and in truth. And we acknowledge that even those who have experienced the grace of God in their life, sometimes they find themselves as if they are not able to attain to that end, even though they know that they have the Son of the Most High God who is at your right hand to seek his help.
[7:22] And not only that, the promised helper that he has left to his people here in this world, the one who bears the name of the Comforter, the great intercessor of his own people.
[7:38] We bless you and thank you nevertheless for all our shortcomings that he is able to enter into their preach on our behalf.
[7:50] So here our prayers as we commence our worship that your blessing would be accompanying the proclamation of truth, the reading of your word, the singing of your praises.
[8:01] We pray for a sense of the God of heaven being in our midst. we know that the truth is that there is no place in this world that you are not ever present.
[8:17] And yet you are not present to the senses of those in whose presence you are found. We acknowledge that. So pour out your Spirit upon us that we might discern you even as others discerned Christ as he sat with them and as he broke the bread of life to them that they discerned him in the breaking of bread.
[8:45] So might we discern him in the breaking of bread here today as we read and endeavor to understand what this word is saying to us.
[8:58] Remember all who are present according to the needs they have. In the temporal or spiritual, there is nothing beyond your ability to reach out to them and may they learn to reach out to you.
[9:14] May they discover the power of God even in the saving of souls through Christ Jesus. We pray for your blessing upon homes and families with all their valiant needs.
[9:28] We know that those that are here who are concerned for loved ones, who are concerned and we think of those who belong to the fellowship of believers here who are unable to be present because of their own peculiar circumstances.
[9:43] We remember those who are confined to hospitals or care homes or the hospice or others being cared for in their homes. We remember them all to you and ask for assistance to be given to those entrusted with their care.
[10:00] that the eyes of those who are unwell might be lifted up to the heavens to seek a sense of the presence of Christ, the one who frequented the beds of the ill and who often was able to minister to them in ways that amazed those who saw the work wrought by him as he healed the sick, as he opened the eyes of the blind, as he opened the ears of the deaf, even as he enabled those whose mouths had been stopped to pour out the praises of their heavenly father in a way that they had their due been unable to.
[10:49] Remember all the needs that are before you. We pray for the grieving and the sorrowful. we pray for those whose hearts are held as they contemplate places that are now empty and the fragrance of memory is all they have but we pray that you would sanctify that thought to them that they would be encouraged to look to the one who gave us so many of God's gifts freely and kept nothing back from us and sometimes we acknowledge that it has to be true of us that we did not recognise what we had when it was our possession and we didn't give the God who provided these things for us the thanks that we ought to have given.
[11:37] We confess our shortcomings the sins that are made cleanse us of that we pray direct us to Christ the one who pours out his life as a sword as one who came to heal the sickness of this world he gave a ransom soul a ransom for sin we bless you and thank you that everything that he came to accomplish he did so and the day will come when he will finally come to seek his own to bring them to be with himself for once and for all body and soul reconciled and the Christ who is their God and their saviour one with them not just in spirit but in body and in the fellowship that will be broken so hear our prayer that is the world in which we live and we pray for those who are not praying for themselves or who are unwise in failing to do so we pray for the needs of the world the many sicknesses that prevail throughout the world spiritual sickness above all we think of the war torn nations we think of places in the world where so many misfortunes have befallen the race of man we see these things daily we pray for healing for the pouring of your spirit that the cry would be uniform what must we do to be saved and that the
[13:20] God of heaven would direct eyes to Christ watch over us now we pray forgive sin in Jesus name all we ask we ask him amen we can again sing to God's praise this time Psalm 121 we shall sing the whole Psalm Psalm 121 the whole Psalm I to the hills will lift mine eyes from whence doth come my need my safety cometh from the Lord heaven and earth hath made thy foot he'll not let slide nor will he slumber that he keeps behold he that keeps Israel slumbers not nor sleeps the Lord he keeps the Lord thy shade on thy right hand doth stay the moon by night he shall not smite nor yet the sun by day the Lord shall keep thy soul he shall preserve thee from all ill henceforth thy going out and in
[14:24] God keep forever will these verses I to the hills will lift mine eyes from whence doth come my need I to the hills will lift mine eyes from whence doth come my aid my pass like my Let's light your will, He slumber thine thee keeps.
[15:30] Behold me thou that keeps Israel, His slumber's no more cease.
[15:48] The Lord be is the Lord thy shade, On thy right hand thou sing, The moon by night be shall no one's mind, Or yet the sun provided.
[16:25] The Lord shall give thy soul, The moon by night shall preserve thee from all hell, And so thy going out and dead, And God keep forever well.
[17:00] So, we're going to hear God's word as we find it in the book of Genesis, And we're reading the second chapter, The Old Testament Scriptures, The book of Genesis and chapter 2, Read the whole chapter, Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, And all the hosts of them.
[17:35] And on the seventh day God ended his work, Which he had made, And he rested on the seventh day from all his works, Which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, Because that in it he had rested from all his work, Which God created and made.
[17:57] These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth, When they were created, In the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens, And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, And every herb of the field before it grew, For the Lord God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, And there was not a man to till the ground.
[18:23] But there went up a mist from the earth, And watered the whole face of the ground. And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, And breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, And man became a living soul.
[18:42] And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden, And there he put the man whom he had formed, And out of the ground made the Lord God To grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, And good for food.
[18:58] The tree of life also in the midst of the garden, And the tree of knowledge of good and evil. And a river went out of Eden to water the garden, And from thence it was parted, And became into four heads.
[19:14] The name of the first is Pisan, That is it which compasses the whole land of Havilah, Where there is gold. And the gold of that land is good.
[19:27] There is Beryllium and the onyx stone. And the name of the second river is Gihon, The same is it that compasses the whole land of Ethiopia. And the name of the third river is Hidikil, That is it which goes forth the east of Assyria.
[19:45] And the fourth river is Euphrates. And the Lord God took the man and put him into the garden of Eden, To dress it and to keep it. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat.
[20:04] But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil thou shalt not eat of it. For in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone.
[20:20] I will make him and help meet for him. And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field, And every fowl of the air, And brought them unto Adam, To see what he would call them.
[20:37] And whatsoever Adam called every living creature, That was the name thereof. And Adam gave names to all cattle, And to the fowl of the air, And to every beast of the field.
[20:50] But for Adam there was not found and help meet for him. And the Lord caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, And he slept.
[21:02] And he took one of his ribs, And closed up the flesh instead thereof. And the rib which the Lord God had taken from man, Made he a woman, And brought her unto the man.
[21:16] And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, And flesh of my flesh. She shall be called woman, Because she was taken out of man.
[21:27] Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, And shall cleave unto his wife, And they shall be one flesh. And they were both naked, The man and his wife, And were not ashamed.
[21:43] Amen. Amen. And may the Lord add his blessing, To our leading, Of his world, And to his name be the praise. We can sing now verses from Psalm 33.
[21:59] Psalm 33. And we're going to sing from verse 6, To verse 11.
[22:11] Psalm 33.
[22:41] Let all the world's inhabitants threaten with one accord. For he did speak the word, And done it was without delay, Established it firmly stood, Whatever he did say.
[22:57] God doth the counsel bring to naught, Which heathen folk do take, And what the people do devise, Of none effect doth make.
[23:08] O but the counsel of the Lord doth stand forever sure, And of his heart the purposes, From age to age endure.
[23:19] We shall sing these verses, We shall sing these verses, Psalm 33, Verses 6 to 11, The heavens, By the word of God, Did their beginning take.
[23:30] The heavens, The heavens, By the word of God, Did their beginning take, And by the breathing of his mouth, He loved their host today, The waters of the sea, He brings together, The heavens, The heavens, Having speaking service, Theánt paid south of the sea, The heavens, The heavens, Exodus 8 and 11,
[24:33] The heavens, He ны другой window, ADJ conseR monday, Let earth and all life in heaven with reverence fear the Lord.
[25:01] Let all the world's inhabitants spread Him with one accord.
[25:18] For He did speak the word and done it, was without delay.
[25:36] His God blessed He firmly stood, whatever He did say.
[25:54] God doth the counsel bring to naught which He learned for duty.
[26:13] And what that He could devise on earth He led to make.
[26:32] O, but the counsel of the Lord doth stand forever true.
[26:50] And of His heart doth are cloaches from age to age in June.
[27:14] Can we turn to the passage that we were reading together? Old Testament Scriptures, the book of Genesis and chapter 2.
[27:27] And we're going to read at verse 15. Genesis chapter 2 at verse 15. And the Lord God took the man and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
[27:46] And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat, but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil thou shalt not eat of it.
[28:03] For in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. It might seem ridiculous to say so on.
[28:22] It's completely unnecessary for us to say it. But we'll say it anyway. The Bible as God's word to us is a book that helps us understand that God has not said everything that He could say.
[28:53] He did not at any time say something without the possibility that there was more to be said.
[29:06] And I suppose even that statement itself must be a guarded statement. Because in a sense, God has said everything that there is to be said with regard to the salvation of sinners.
[29:25] Everything that needs to be said has been said. Everything that needs to be done has been done.
[29:37] And nothing further needs to be said on the matter. With regard to the Bible, it's a book. It's a closed book. It begins and it ends and God insists that nothing can be added to that book.
[29:58] But that doesn't mean to say that God will not at some point say more. But it's not for us to add to what God has said.
[30:12] And it's not for us to understand that whatever God may say at whatever point is something that is essential for our relationship with a cleriatism.
[30:30] I think the most remarkable words that we find at the very beginning of this book of Genesis. We read these words.
[30:42] In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And that's a statement about an activity that belongs alone to God.
[30:54] But if we abbreviate the statement and look at it and say, in the beginning God. It almost insists on our understanding of what the book of Genesis is all about.
[31:14] In the beginning God. God was in the beginning. It is the God who has begun. That is.
[31:25] That's work is brought to us within the scripture. And coming back to the original statement. We know that what God says to us.
[31:39] In this book of beginnings. Is something that he will add to us. A progressive revelation of who he is.
[31:54] And what he intends. Whoever the theologian is. Whatever theological persuasion they are of. They will all agree on this one point.
[32:06] That the book of Genesis begins with a revelation of God. It's a statement of fact.
[32:18] That God is. That's where the book begins. In the beginning God. Nothing before him. In the beginning God.
[32:31] And that is a beginning. It's the start. And from that starting point. He opens out.
[32:43] The intention of God to create. And the creation. Comes to our attention. And.
[32:54] In the creation. That God is responsible for. He reveals himself. He reveals aspects to his character.
[33:05] He reveals aspects to his creative ability. To the power that he possesses. That is uniquely his.
[33:17] He reveals to us. Even in the perfections of the creation. That he is responsible for. The very holiness of his character. Because there is nothing inappropriate.
[33:28] In what he creates. There is nothing out of sync. In what he creates. There is nothing. There is nothing. That is not. How it ought to be.
[33:39] As he created it. And from that starting point. There is an expansive. Self-declaration.
[33:51] Of elements that belong. To his divinity. His personality. His character. The very fact.
[34:02] The very fact. The very fact. That he speaks of himself. As one that was. Pre-existent. Who has no beginning. No end.
[34:12] And yet. Who enjoyed the privilege. Of fellowship. Within that. Unity of his personality. The God who is one. And at the same time.
[34:23] The God who is three. In his name. He suggests that. He hints at it. It's not elaborated on. It's not explained. It's not expounded. It is simply a statement of fact.
[34:35] In the beginning. God. And in the language. That is used. By him. And. That is used. For our.
[34:48] Understanding. Speaks to us. Of greater things. To be. Brought. To our attention. And so. So it is. So.
[34:59] It begins. And so. It. Commences. But I want us to focus. On. Not revelation.
[35:11] As a progressive revelation. But what is suggested to us. In these three verses. That we're looking at today. And with. Three thoughts in mind. First of all.
[35:23] A reminder to us. Of God. As the creator God. And the Lord God. Took the man. And put him into the garden.
[35:33] Of Eden. To dress it. And keep it. Behind that statement. Is the statement. That.
[35:44] The God. Who took man. And put man. Into the garden. Into the garden. Of Eden. Was the God. Who. In actual fact.
[35:55] Brought man. Into being. It's spoken of. Clearly. Within the first chapter. And it's on the basis. Of what he explains. To us. Of that work of creation.
[36:07] That involved. The world. In which. He put man. And the man. Into which. He. He. He. The man. That he. Took.
[36:17] And put. Into that world. Was. The work. Of his hands. The second thought. Is. Not just. God. Who is a creator. God.
[36:28] Who is the king. God. Who has authority. Over. The world. In which. He placed man. He has authority. Over. The created world.
[36:39] The created order. And thirdly. The description. That we are given. Of the instruction. Given. To man. Concerning.
[36:50] The world. Into which man. As created. By God. Was placed. That it reveals. God. To us. As a God. Who is a covenant. God. God.
[37:00] A God. Who has a very. Distinct. Relationship. With. Man. As created. By him. Not just. As his God. Or his creator.
[37:12] But as. A covenant God. A God. Who has entered. Into a relationship. With. His. Creature. That describes. To us.
[37:23] A certain. Kind. Of relationship. And that again. Is. Brought to our attention. In these. Verses. So.
[37:34] We'll try. And frame. Our thoughts. Under these. Three. Headings. The. Opening. Chapter. As you kind of. Mention. Of Genesis.
[37:46] Is a. Chapter. That describes. To us. The work. Of the creator. God. God. If. If. If. You believe. The Bible.
[37:57] You believe. That. This is. Not. A myth. It's. Not. A story. For little. Children. But. A fact. That is.
[38:08] To be. Believed. In. A. And. While. Many. Might. See. It. As. Both. Of. These. Things. The. Fact. That. God. Has.

[39:12] And. In. The. Creation. That. Is. Entirely. Dependent. Upon. His. Activity. We. We. Need. To. Understand. That.

[47:14] What. God. Intended. Not. A. Development. In. God's. Thinking. But. A. Development. In. The. Revelation. That.
[47:25] Describes. To. Us. This. Order. That. God. Has. Ordained. Where. Man. Is. Going. To. Take. Steps. To. Ensure.
[47:35] That. What. He. Created. Was. Cared. For. And. The. Care. That. He. Meant. For. His. Creation. To. Have. Was. To. Be.
[47:46] Conducted. By. The. Creature. That. Was. Preeminent. In. His. Creative. Work. Because. He. Gave. Man. A.
[47:56] Preeminent. Place. By. Creating. Man. Man. From. The. Dust. That. He. Himself. Had. Created. But. Creating. Man. In. The. Image. That. Was.
[48:06] His. Own. Image. And. Placing. The. Man. That. Bore. His. Image. Into. A. Relationship. With. The. Creation. That. Was.
[48:18] Exemplary. Because. He. Was. In. The. Image. Of. God. He.
[48:28] God. Was. Showing. Care. To. The. Creation. By. Placing. Man. Into. That. Role. That.
[48:40] Part. You. Can. Understand. Can. You. Not. God. Created. The. World. And. It. Was. Not. A. God. Who. Having. Done.
[48:50] That. He. Relaxed. And. Said. Oh. Well. That's it. I've. Done. My. Bit. Let's. Leave. The. World. To. Go. Its. Own. Way. God. Reveals.
[49:01] To. Us. His. Intention. For. The. World. By. Placing. Man. In. A. Relationship. With. That. Creation. Where.
[49:12] Man. Is. Responsible. For. Caring. For. It. But. Not. Only. Do. We. Have. That.
[49:22] Thought. Brought. Before. Us. In. God's. Care. For. Man. In. Giving. Him. That. Role. Within. Creation. He.
[49:33] Also. Exercises. Care. For. The. Man. That. He. Created. By. Giving. To. Man. That. Role. Giving. That.
[49:44] Role. To. Man. To. Care. For. What. God. Had. Created. Notice. How. Deliberate.
[49:54] The. Words. Of. Vershift. In. Now. The. Lord. God. Took. The. Man. And. Put. Him. Into. The. Garden. Of. Eden.
[50:05] To. Dress. It. And. To. Keep. It. Just. As. God. Worked. As. Creator. He. Intended. What. He. Created.
[50:16] To. Work. Within. The. Limits. Of. The. Place. That. It. Occupied. And. Man. Was. To. Dress. And. To. Keep. The. Garden. He.
[50:27] Was. To. Work. He. Was. To. Labour. And. He. Would. Do. So. Happily. Those. Of.
[50:37] You. Who. Are. Probably. Involved. In. Looking. After. Gardens. Of. Craft. Or. Whatever. It's. Hard. Labour. But. You.
[50:47] Not. In. A. State. Of. Innocence. And. The. World. That. We. Live. In. Is. Under. God's. Condemnation.
[50:57] And. Curse. And. What. We. Consider. To. Be. Vexatious. And. Tiresome. It. Was. A. Privilege. For. Our. First.
[51:07] Parents. To. Labour. In. Such. An. Environment. It. Was. A. Sinless. Environment. The.
[51:17] Pleasure. Was. There. Because. They. Were. Doing. What. God. Gave. Them. To. Do. To. Till. The. Ground. To. Make. It. Fairstile. Or.
[51:28] To. Bring. What. Was. Fairstile. To. Through. Asian. And. He. Delighted. In. Doing. That. The.
[51:38] Second. Heading. Was. God. The. King. You. Try. And. Balance. The. Thoughts. That. You. May. Have.
[51:48] As. They. Come. To. You. First. Of. All. Try. And. Try. And. Remember. What. You. Think. About. Having. To.
[52:00] Having. To. Care. For. The. Garden. That. God. Placed. Man. In. Your. Instinct. By. Nature. Is. To. Think.
[52:10] That. This. Is. Problematic. To. Think. That. This. Is. A. Difficulty. That. This. Is. A. Trial. That. This. Is. Something. That. Is. Hard. And. Difficult.
[52:22] Because. We. Can't. Enter. Into. What. Was. Life. Before. Sin. Came. Into. The. World. We. Can't. Think. Of. A. World. That. Is. Not. If. You. Read. On. When.
[52:33] The. Fall. Came. And. When. The. Effects. Of. The. Fall. Affected. The. Environment. That. Man. From. That. That.
[52:48] Showed. The. Breakdown. Of. God's. Order. It. So. Difficult. For. You. To. Imagine. Being. In. A. Situation. Where. It.
[52:58] Was. Pleasurable. And. It. Was. It. Was. A. Work. But. It. Was. A. Work. In. Which. Adam. Delighted. Because. God. Had. Given. It. To. Him. And.
[53:09] He. Was. Simply. Doing. What. Was. Natural. And. Similarly. When. You. Come. To. Thinking. Of. God. As. King. The. Lord.
[53:19] Has. Authority. Over. His. Creation. He. Is. Its. King. He. Is. Its. Sovereign. And. He. Has. The. Right. To.
[53:29] Require. This. Creation. Of. His. Own. Making. To. Function. And. To. Operate. Under. His. Laws. Without. Expecting. These.
[53:40] Laws. To. Create. Any. Disatisfaction. The. Order. Is. There. The. Perfection. Of. What. God. Has. Done. Assumes.
[53:51] That. Nothing. But. Nothing. Will. Operate. Out. Of. Sink. And. When. He. Gives. A. Command. To. To.
[54:01] Man. He. Takes. Man. And. He. Places. Man. Into. The. Garden. Of. Eden. It. May. Seem. To. Us. Because. We. Know. Better. That.
[54:12] Man. There. Has. Been. Devied. Of. Choice. He. Has. Not. Been. Given. The. Ability. To. Choose. To. Do. Something. Other. Than. What. God. Has. Given. Him. To. Do. Instinctively.
[54:23] We. Think. Well. It. Should. Be. The. Choice. Of. Man. It. Should. Be. The. Choice. Of. The. Individual. Whether. They. Want. To. Go. In. The. Garden. Or. Not. Whether. They. Want. To. Labor. In. The. Garden. Or. Not. But.
[54:36] The. Relationship. That. Existed. Between. God. And. His. Creature. Was. Such. That. Whatever. God. Commanded. It. Was. It. Was. His. Delight. To.
[54:46] Do. It. Was. Man's. Privilege. To. Submit. To. The. Will. Of. The. Creator. God. Are.
[54:57] You. Able. To. Think. About. That. Are. Able. To. Think. And. How. Difficult. It. Is. For. You. How. Instinctive.
[55:07] It. Is. For. You. To. React. Negatively. To. A. Command. Given. To. You. By. Whoever. Gives. The. Command. To. Say. Well. Why. Should. I. Why.
[55:18] Do. I. Have. To. Do. This. When. The. Initial. Relationship. Was. To. Do. Thy.
[55:29] Will. I. Take. Delight. For. Thou. My. God. The. Dark. The. Relationship. That. You. See. Existing. Between. The. Saviour. Christ. Doing. The. Work. Of. His. Father. To.
[55:40] Save. Sinners. Jesus. Said. I. Will. Do. Your. Will. Because. It. Is. My. Pleasure. It. Is. My. Great. Reason. For. Existing. To. Do. Your. Will. And.
[55:50] That's. The. Way. Man. Was. By. Nature. So. When. God. Commanded. The. Man. When. God. Took. The. Man. When. God.
[56:00] Placed. The. Man. It. Was. Not. Somebody. Who. Was. Kicking. Against. The. Will. Of. God. It. Was. Somebody. That. Was. Being. Directed.
[56:10] To. The. Very. Place. That. Was. The. Place. That. God. Had. Prepared. Him. For. And. Prepared. For. Him. Some.
[56:23] Have. Suggested. That. The. Hebrew. Word. Used. Here. Which. Is. The. Same. Word. Used. Later. To. Describe. The. Kind. Of. Or. Nature. Of. The.
[56:33] Service. That. Was. Provided. In. The. Temple. Put. Him. Into. The. Garden. To. Dress. And. Keep. It. The. Hebrew. Expression.
[56:44] There. Is. Similar. To. If. Not. The. Same. To. The. Kind. Of. Experience. That. Belong. To. Those. Who. Came. To.
[56:54] Offer. Service. In. The. Temple. So. Some. Are. Going. To. Be. Step. Beyond. And. Said. That's. A. Priestly. Service. Well. I. Don't. Agree. With. That. Because.
[57:05] The. Priestly. Nature. Of. Service. Inevitably. Requires. Sacrifice. Inevitably. Requires. The. Shedding. Of. Blood. That.
[57:15] Was. Not. True. About. The. Relationship. That. God. Had. With. Adam. Or. That. Adam. Had. With. God. I.
[57:26] Think. It. Goes. A. Step. Beyond. What. We. See. Here. In. The. Garden. But. It. Was. A. Response. To. God's. Command. That.
[57:37] Was. Willing. And. That. Was. Entirely. Obedient. Joel. Beak. One of the. Commentators. Says.
[57:48] Work. Is. The. Pre. Fall. Gift. Of. Our. Creator. We. Were. Created. To. Be. Industrious. But. Lack. Of. Discipline.
[57:58] And. Laziness. Are. The. Results. Of. Our. Fallen. Condition. When. We. Read. The. Words. Of. Verse. Twenty. Eight. Of. The. First. Chapter. God.
[58:09] Blessed. Them. And. God. Said. To. Them. Be. Fruitful. And. Multiply. And. Replenish. The. Earth. And. Subdued. And. Have. Dominion. Over. The. Fish. Of. The. Sea. And. Over. The. Fowl. Of. The. Air. And.
[58:19] Over. Every. Living. Thing. That. Moves. Upon. The. Earth. Again. How. Do. You. Think. Of. That. Statement. The.
[58:32] Thought. Of. Mastery. The. Thought. Of. Of. Excerpt. Power. Brings.
[58:43] With. It. The. Idea. Of. Tyranny. Brings. With. It. The. Idea. Of. Influence. Being. Used. To. Over. Power.
[58:56] In. Order. To. Satisfy. Self. But. That's. Not. What. God. Is. Describing. Here. What.
[59:06] God. Has. Entrusted. Man. To. Do. Or. What. God. Has. Entrusted. To. Man. Was. The. Positive. Over. Role.
[59:17] Or. Over. Lordship. Of. His. Creation. God. Is. The. Creator. And. What. He. Created. Is. Not. God. Whether.
[59:28] That. Is. Man. Or. Planet. Earth. Some. People. Think. That. They. Have. A. Spirituality. When. They. Think. Of. Of. The. Planet.
[59:39] Or. The. World. In. Which. We. Live. And. They. Say. Well. Creation. Is. Is. All. Wonderful. It's. A. Creator. That's. Wonderful. And.
[59:50] What. He. Created. Was. Wonderful. At. One. Point. It. Is. No. Longer. What. He. Created. It. Is. Polluted. It. Is. Distorted. It. Is. Incredibly.
[60:02] Affected. By. What. Sin. Brought. Into. The. World. And. This. Is. Not. Where. Adam. Was. Sent. To. Labor. He. Was. Sent. To. Labor. In. A. Glorifying.
[60:18] To. God. In. All. Its. Aspects. And. He. Delighted. In. Doing. That. And.
[60:30] When. We. See. Even. The. Beauties. Of. Creation. To. Do. As. We. Want. To. Do. We. Should. Rejoice. That. Such. A. God. Created.
[60:41] Such. A. World. And. Wonder. And. Be. In. All. Of. How. It. Would. Be. Like. Were. Sin. Not.
[60:52] To. Have. Polished. It. And. Affected. It. In. The. Way. It. Has. The. Final. Thing. Very. Briefly. Is. This. Versus.
[61:02] Sixteen. And. Seven. Describes. To. Sixteen. And. Seven. Describes. To. The. Covenant. God. We. May. Not. Be. Familiar.
[61:13] With. The. Word. Covenant. What. Do. We. Do. When. We. Hear. The. Words. God. Commanded. Do. We. Feel.
[61:23] Our. Liberty. To. Be. Under. Threat. God. Commanded. The. Man. Thing.
[61:33] Of. Every. Tree. Of. The. Garden. Thou. May. Eat. Freely. But. Of. The. Tree. Of. The. Knowledge. Of. Good. And. Evil. Thou. Shalt. Not. Eat. Of. It. For. In. The. Day.
[61:44] That. Thou. Eat. It. Thereof. Thou. Shalt. Surely. Die. God. Commanded. Do. You. Feel. That. Liberty.
[61:55] Has. Been. Taken. From. You. Thou. Shalt. Not. Eat. Of. It. God. Commanded. Is. His. Command. Unjust. Or.
[62:05] Evil. Is. His. Prohibition. Excessive. Why. Would. You. Think. It. Is. What.
[62:16] Makes. You. Think. Like. That. If. God. Commands. Something. If. God. Requires. Something. Is. There. Something. Innate. In.
[62:26] Yourself. That. Says. I. Don't. Want. To. Listen. To. This. Why. Do. I. Have. To. Submit. To. Him. That.
[62:39] Is. What. We. Are. Are. By. Nature. Rebels. What. God. Commanded. Adam. Was. Not. Unable. Command. Someone.
[62:53] Has. Put. It. Very. Simply. If. You. Turn. What. Is. Said. Here. On. It. Said. The. Entire. Garden. Is. For.
[63:03] You. All. Of. The. Trees. Are. For. You. Except. One. And. That. One. Is. Also. For.
[63:14] You. But. It. Is. For. You. To. Learn. Obedience. To. Me. Your. God. And. Creator. And. Is. That. Not. The.
[63:24] Way. It. Is. When. God. Gives. Access. To. Our. First. Parents. To. Every.
[63:34] Tree. Of. The. Garden. But. One. Why. Does. Our. Focus. Fall. Fall. On. The. But. One. Why. Is. That. One.
[63:45] Standing. Out. As. Being. A. Signal. To. Us. That. God. Is. In. Some. Way. Evil. That. God. Is. In. Some. Way. Depriving. Us. Of. Something.
[63:55] That. Is. Rightfully. Ours. Why. Is. This. Tree. Something. That. Says. To. Us. That. Should. Be. Mine. And.
[64:07] Yet. That's. The. Very. Thing. That. Satan. Used. To. Beguile. Our. First. Parents. Directly. And. Indirectly.
[64:19] But. What. We. Do. Understand. From. This. Is. That. The. Arrangement. That. God. Enters. Into. With. Man. Is. A. Covenant. Arrangement.
[64:32] It's. Institutional. Institutional. By. Him. For. The. Good. Of. Man. And. For. The. Glory. Of. God. What. We. See. Is. Man.
[64:42] Placed. By. God. Physically. Into. A. Garden. Provided. For. Him. By. God. Morally.
[64:53] He. Is. Placed. Into. A. Relationship. That. God. Framed. Whereby. Man. Would. Be. Blessed. By. Doing.
[65:03] What. He. Should. Be. Doing. Anyway. God. Didn't. Need. To. Do. That. He. Simply. Stipulated.
[65:14] This. In. A. Way. That. Man. Should. Understand. This. Is. This. Is. What. You. Should. Be. Doing. Anyway. I. Am. Your. God. I. Am. Your. Creator. You. Are. You. Are. Behoven.
[65:25] To. Me. You. Are. Obligated. To. Me. You. Are. Required. To. Obey. Me. That. Is. Not. In. Question. Nor.
[65:36] Should. God. Be. Required. To. Reward. The. Obligence. Of. The. Man. That. He. Created. To. Do. His. Will. Because. It. Was. His. Obligation. But.
[65:47] God. Says. If. You. Do. This. Then. You. Shall. Live. Of. Every.
[65:57] Tree. Of. The. Garden. You. May. Freely. Eat. Of. The. Tree. Of. The. Knowledge. Of. Good. And. Evil. You. Shall. Not. Eat. Of. It. If. That.
[66:08] Was. The. Case. Then. They. Would. Live. Would. Live. Failure. On. Their. Part.
[66:18] Was. Death. God. Framed. This. Whereby. Man. Would. Be. Blessed. By. Doing. What. He. Should. Do. Anyway. What.
[66:28] Was. His. Duty. To. His. God. And. Creator. And. God. In. His. Grace. Promised. A. Reward. But. He. Threatened.
[66:42] Death. As. A. Consequence. Of. Disobedience. The. Hebrew. Is. Quite. Prominent. In. What. It. Says. In. The.
[66:52] Day. That. Thou. Eat. Thereof. Thou. Shalt. Surely. Die. Surely. Die. You. Shall. Die. Surely.
[67:03] Die. You. Shall. Die. As if. He's. Emphasizing. This. Consequence. A. Sinless. Adam. Take.
[67:14] Your. Head. Around. This. A. Sinless. Adam. Would. Not. Have. Found. This. An. Imposition. Somebody.
[67:24] Who. Lives. Within. An. Environment. Where. Sin. Has. Not. Intruded. Itself. Would. Not. Have. Felt.
[67:35] Threatened. By. God's. Command. But. We. Do. We. Always. Suspect.
[67:45] That. If. There. Is. Some. Kind. Of. Threat. Having. Over. Us. That. The. Person. Responsible. For. That. Means. Us. Haran. Can.
[67:59] You. Understand. These. Words. To. Be. A. Reminder. To. You. Not. Just. Of. The. Drastic. Nature. Of. The. Fall. But. Of. The. Mindset.
[68:09] That. Has. Developed. As. A. Consequence. Offered. Not. Just. What. We. See. In. The. World. And. How. React. Even.
[68:20] To. The. Entreaties. Of. The. Gospel. Believe. In. The. Gospel. Believe. In. Jesus. Christ. And. You. Shall. Be. Saved. But. Safe. Simple.
[68:32] You. Are. Happy. To. Believe. Perhaps. But. When. The. Threat. Comes. When. The. Threat. Is. If.
[68:43] You. Don't. Believe. There. Are. Consequences. If. You. Don't. Receive. Christ. There. Are. Consequences. If. You. Don't. Trust. Your. Soul. To.
[68:53] His. Keeping. There. Are. Consequences. How. Do. You. React. What. Do. You. Feel. Well. There.
[69:04] Are. Consequences. And. God. Even. In. This. Early. Stage. Of. His. Progressive. Revelation. Reminds. Us. That.
[69:14] Sin. Always. Has. Consequences. Death. And. Death. Is. Here. Brought. To. The. Forward. As. Something. That.
[69:25] Is. Progressive. And. Something. That. Is. Enduring. And. It. Is. All. As. A. Consequence. Of. Disobedience.
[69:36] To. The. Revealed. Will. Of. The. God. Who. Is. God. Overall. Bring. These. Thoughts. To. The. Forefront. Of. Your. Mind. Reflect. Upon. Them.
[69:46] If. You. Don't. Understand. What. They. Say. They. They. They. They. They. They. They. They. They. They. They. your light, bend your knees before God and ask him to shed light in the darkness that sin has brought into your experience.
[70:06] Let us pray. O Lord, O God, we give thanks for the revelation that you have been pleased to give to us, the word of the only living and true God.
[70:19] O Lord, we give thanks for the beginning that we have in Genesis that continues until the day of Christ Jesus and we pray that you would bless this word to us today, forgiving our transgressions, pardoning our sin in Jesus' name.
[70:35] Amen. Amen. The closing psalm is Psalm 90.
[70:47] Psalm 90. And we're singing the last four verses of the psalm. O with thy tender mercies, Lord, as early satisfied, so we rejoice shall all our days and still be glad in thee, according as the days have been wherein we grief have had, and years wherein we ill have seen, so do thou make us glad.
[71:16] O let thy work and power appear, thy servants face before, and show unto their children dear thy glory evermore. And let the beauty of the Lord our God be as upon, our handiworks established well, established then, each one.
