[0:00] Good morning, everyone. Matemba, or let me say in my own language, buenos dias.! This is the Lord's day. This is a day for rest.
[0:14] ! This is a day to serve our Lord, to serve our brothers and sisters. But to do that, we need to receive God's service.
[0:27] Every Sabbath, every Sunday, is a reminder that God is here. His presence is here to give you rest.
[0:39] So that's why we are here today. And I will invite you. So that's why every Sunday, we have a call to worship.
[0:50] A call to worship. Maybe our minds are distracted. Maybe you are here, but your heart is far away. But the Lord is calling you to worship Him.
[1:07] That's why we lift up our hearts in the power of the Holy Spirit to receive God's blessing. So I will invite you to worship our God.
[1:20] And the call to worship for today is, The Lord Yahweh, the God of the covenant, is my shepherd.
[1:31] Your shepherd. It's your shepherd. So, let us pray and let us worship our God. If you're able, please, let's pray together.
[1:43] Father, our gracious and true and living God.
[2:02] Father, we worship you. The true and living God. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We ask for thy blessing.
[2:21] We ask for your benediction today, this morning. Renew the joy of your salvation in our hearts.
[2:34] We need you more than anything this morning, this very day. We need you more than yesterday. We need you.
[2:45] And we want you, O God, living God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. So, we pray that we may have a sense of your presence with us.
[2:57] Prepare our minds. Prepare our hearts to listen to your word. Prepare our hearts, hands, and feet to be doers of your word.
[3:15] Lord, we thank you that we can worship you. And this is a worship service because of the presence of the living God is here with us this morning.
[3:30] In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Please have a seat. The Lord is my shepherd.
[3:41] So, I will invite you to sing the words of Psalm 23. And let us worship our God with all our hearts.
[3:54] Psalm 23 from the Scottish Psalter. Psalm 23 by 8OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO O thee God restored again.
[4:50] I need to walk the night. Within the path of righteousness.
[5:08] If all is of name's sake.
[5:19] Yet though I walk in death's dark veil. Yet will I fear none help.
[5:37] For thou art with me on thy road.
[5:49] And stop me, come for still. My table thou hast furnished.
[6:07] In presence of my foes. My head thou glanced with oil and oil.
[6:26] And mind thou overuse.
[6:36] Goodness and mercy all my life.
[6:47] Shall surely follow me. I'm in those houses forevermore.
[7:06] My dwelling place shall be. Let's pray again to our God Almighty.
[7:20] If you are able, please do stand. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. The Lord is my shepherd.
[7:32] I will know what. He makes me down to lie. He leads me the quiet waters by.
[7:44] I will know this leader. Oh, good shepherd, the pastor of our souls, the pastor of this congregation, the true and good shepherd of every church who preaches the gospel here in Scotland, in the UK, and in your world.
[8:16] Oh, good shepherd, we pray that you may, in your grace, lead us to these green pastures, to these quiet waters, that we may have true and satisfying rest in your mercy.
[8:38] And according only to the merits of our Savior, Jesus Christ, we ask for an outpouring of thy Holy Spirit.
[8:50] Lord, we pray for life in our hearts.
[9:03] We pray that in your grace, you may heal those who are suffering right now, in their bodies, in our minds.
[9:17] We acknowledge our frustrations, anxieties, fears. And we thank you that the good shepherd comes to give us true rest.
[9:36] And we pray that you may bless this land with your spirit, with your word, with the preaching of your word. May you leave your church to be salt and light in this land.
[9:52] Amen. We pray that you may have mercy upon us and prepare our hearts to listen to your word and to be transformed by your word.
[10:05] In the precious name of our Savior, Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen. If this is your first time and you're here, you're very welcome.
[10:17] And if you wonder, what? It is a Christian service. A Christian service. It's a holy dialogue between the living God and His people.
[10:33] What are we doing here? God speaks in the nature. So, if there are some children here, or if this is your first time here, you can see the landscape, the nature.
[10:48] So beautiful. Maybe you wonder, why this is so beautiful? When you see a flower, why that flower is so beautiful? Just to let you know, the creation is so beautiful.
[11:04] To show you that the Creator, He is the beautiful, the glorious one. When you see any flower, flowers are preaching to your heart and saying to you that the Creator is sustaining everything.
[11:22] But in a very special way, He is sustaining your heart. So, God speaks and His people respond. How?
[11:32] In worship. So, that's why we sing and we pray. And we are going to respond to God's word by singing Psalm 100.
[11:43] And I think that we are going to sing this version in beautiful Gaelic. Is that okay? Or in English? In Gaelic.
[11:55] In Gaelic. So, let us praise our God. I think that you are a leader.
[12:11] Thank you.
[12:41] Thank you.
[13:11] Thank you.
[13:41] Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
[13:55] Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
[14:13] Thank you.
[14:43] Thank you.
[15:13] Amen. Amen. God speaks in the book of nature. He speaks to your heart about His greatness.
[15:26] But He speaks about His amazing grace. He speaks about the blood of the Lamb in His written book, the Word of God, the Bible.
[15:40] So that's why I will invite you to open your Bibles. And let's read Genesis chapter 22.
[15:50] From verse 1 to verse 18. Probably you have noticed that I am not from Scotland, but I am from Chile, that country next to Argentina.
[16:13] And I'm going to say this in Spanish because my parents, they don't speak in English and they are Christians. So, vamos a leer Genesis 22.
[16:24] Because I just said, I'm going to read Genesis 22. And this is God's Word from verse 1 to verse 18. And it came to pass after this, this thing.
[16:37] But God did tempt Abraham and said unto him, Abraham. And he said, Behold, here I am.
[16:48] And he said, God, take now thy son, thy only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah, and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.
[17:10] And Abraham rose up early in the morning and sat at his ass and took two of his young men with him and Isaac, his son, and claimed the wood for the burnt offering and rose up and went unto the place of which God had told him.
[17:32] Then, on the third day, Abraham lifted up his eyes and saw the place afar off. And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the yas, and I and the lad will go yonder and worship and come again to you.
[17:57] And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it upon Isaac, his son. And he, Abraham, took the fire in his hand and a knife, and they went both of them together.
[18:18] And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father and said, My father. And he said, Here I am, my son.
[18:30] And he, Isaac, said, Behold the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?
[18:44] And Abraham said, My son, God will provide. God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering.
[19:00] So they went both of them together. And they came to a place which God had told him of. And Abraham built an altar there and laid the wood in order and bound Isaac, his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.
[19:20] And Abraham stretched forth his hand and took the knife to slay his son. And the angel of the Lord called unto him out of heaven and said, Abraham, Abraham.
[19:40] And he said, Here am I. And he said, Lay not thy hand upon the lad. Neither do thou anything unto him.
[19:53] For I know. For now I know that thou fearest God. Seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, but only son from me.
[20:07] And Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked. And behold, behind him a ram caught in the thicket by his horns. And Abraham went and took the ram and offered him for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.
[20:26] And Abraham called the name of that place, Yahovah, Yireh. As it is said to this day, in the mount of the Lord it shall be seen.
[20:41] And the angel of the Lord called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time and said, By myself have I sworn, saith the Lord.
[20:52] For because thou hast done this thing and hast not withheld thy son, thy only son. Verse 17. That in blessing I will bless thee.
[21:08] And in multiplying I will multiply thy seed. As the stars of the heaven and as the sun which is upon the seashore.
[21:22] And thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies. And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed. Because thou hast obeyed my voice.
[21:38] And this is God's word. When I pray again. Let us pray. Almighty and gracious God.
[21:59] Yehovah, Ye. The Lord provides. The Lord who provides. The best of the best. Your presence.
[22:12] Prepare our hearts. To receive your word. Maybe we have.
[22:23] We know this passage well. Maybe this is not the first time that we read this. But please, oh God. Make us.
[22:34] Make me a child. Again. Again. To learn more of your word. To listen to your voice this morning.
[22:47] To be transformed by your word and spirit. Lead us, oh God. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
[22:57] Amen. As I said. The Christian service is a holy dialogue. God speaks in his word. God speaks in his word. And now his people respond.
[23:09] How? By singing his word. God. But we are in the presence of a holy God. Holy. Glorious.
[23:20] Beautiful God.osh. but this is our problem, that we have sin, sins in our hearts, rebellion, bitterness, maybe, anger, maybe we know things in our heads, but what about our hearts?
[23:42] So that's why every Sunday, we confess in a personal way, and as community, we receive our sins, and we ask for forgiveness, and we receive God's pardon.
[23:57] So that's why today, we are singing the words of Psalm 40, from the Scottish Psalter. If you have this version with you, it's on the page 259.
[24:10] The same Psalms, 259. And if you have this version with you, Psalm 40, page 75.
[24:23] Let us sing the words of Psalm 40. I waited for the Lord my God, a nation leaded by, A land to me, He didn't lie, My voice and cry to hear, He took me from a fearful day, I rose by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word by my word
[25:43] And you submit my mouth a God to magnify.
[25:58] Then he shall see his hands appear. And on the Lord relies.
[26:15] O blessed is the man who trusts.
[26:26] Upon the Lord relies. Reflecting not the proud heart.
[26:43] Such a star of sight to lies. O Lord my God.
[26:59] O many are. The wonders of us.
[27:09] God. Thy gracious thoughts. To us were caught.
[27:20] Our awful thoughts are gone. In order not God read on them.
[27:40] To thee it's empty gift. And speak of them.
[27:52] I would be more. The candy number die.
[28:04] Amen. Amen. So if you have your Bibles with you. Today. By God's grace.
[28:14] I'm going to preach on Genesis chapter 22. And this is the title of the sermon. What should never be missing your life.
[28:28] What should never be missing your life. God gives it. There are some things that cannot be missed.
[28:42] When someone is preparing a birthday party. The cake is a must. As I told you.
[28:53] I am from Chile. Now I'm serving as a minister. In Edinburgh. And Cornerstone Free Church. And for us in Chile. When you are preparing a barbecue.
[29:07] Steak. Is. A must. If you are preparing a delicious salad. Vegetables. Are. A must. Now in a more significant.
[29:20] In a more profoundly way. Some things cannot be lacking. In the life of the Christian. We can know things about Christianity.
[29:32] And sadly. Not possess. The very life. Of Christianity. Maybe we can spend years.
[29:43] In a church. And sadly. Not grow. In the Christian life. Why? Because we have forgotten. Something fundamental.
[29:54] In the Christian life. And what is that thing. That must never be lacking. In our lives. And the answer is. As we read.
[30:05] The fear of the Lord. And above all. The Lord. Himself. Without the fear of the Lord.
[30:18] And above all. Without having the Lord Himself. In our hearts. There is no Christian life. God's word is clear. The principle.
[30:30] The beginning of wisdom. Is. The fear of the Lord. Moses. Tells to the people. Of Israel. And now Israel.
[30:41] What does the Lord thy God. Require of thee. But to fear the Lord thy God. And to love him. Then Paul said.
[30:53] To the Philippians. Work out your own salvation. How? With what? With fear. And trembling.
[31:05] Now. It is in the midst. Of this. Chapter 22. That God tells Abraham. Lay not thy hand upon the lad.
[31:18] Neither do thou anything unto him. For I know that thou fearest God. Seeing thou hast not withheld thy son. Thine only son.
[31:29] From me. So that's. This is why God. Confirms the covenant promises. Verse 16. Of Genesis 22. And said.
[31:40] By myself. Have I sworn. Said the Lord. For because. Thou hast done this. Thing. And has not withheld thy son.
[31:50] Thy only son. Verse 17. That in blessing. I will bless thee. And in multiplying. I will multiply thy seed. As the stars. Of heaven.
[32:02] And because of this. Verse 18. The beauty of the gospel. And in thy seed. Shall all the nations of the earth. Be blessed.
[32:13] Can you imagine that? This blessing of the true living God. Going to the last country. On the earth. Chile. Reach this land.
[32:25] Scotland. Scotland. And as we will see. We are truly blessed. Because of the true Abraham. The true Isaac. We are truly blessed. Because we are united.
[32:38] With Jesus. So the mission. Of being a blessing. To all the families of the earth. Is assured. Because Abraham.
[32:49] Abraham. Feared God. Because Abraham. Obeyed. The voice of God. But please listen to me. But above all. The mission.
[33:01] Is secure. The covenant. Is real. Because. In the midst. Of this drama. Listen to this. Something significant. Happens. For the lives.
[33:12] Of Abraham. Isaac. And for us. Today. What happened. A sacrifice. In Genesis 22.
[33:23] We can see. A sacrifice. In Genesis 22. We can see. Worship. And in Genesis 22.
[33:34] We see. One. Dying. For. Another. As we will. As now we are going to see. The obedience of Abraham.
[33:45] Points us. To the perfect. Obedience. Of a better. Abraham. And the sacrifice of Isaac. And the sacrifice.
[33:58] Sorry. That Isaac. Did not suffer. Was experienced. By the true. And better. Isaac. Now.
[34:10] This is very important. The best. And true. Abraham. And the best. And true. Isaac. Is. Jesus.
[34:21] This is what. Produces. True. Fear. And joy. In our lives. It is the best. Abraham. And the best.
[34:33] Isaac. Jesus. Who gives. Meaning. Life. And security. To our mission. Here in Kalanish. Scotland.
[34:44] And whatever the Lord. Places. Us. So. I will. I would like to. Share with you. Two. Brief. I hope. Points.
[34:56] The first one is. What should never. Be missing. In your life. And that is. A true. Understanding. Of the fear. Of the Lord.
[35:08] Maybe we have heard. About the fear. Of the Lord. But what's the. Biblical. Meaning. Of the fear.
[35:18] Of the Lord. Well. In the Bible. We can see. Two kinds of fears. One kind of fear. Involves. Dread. And terror. In the face.
[35:30] Of danger. From an enemy. But there is another. Kind of fear. That speaks. Of reverence. Or. Transformation.
[35:41] And this is. Very important. That fear. Talks about. Joy. So. Two kinds of fear. One that produces. Dread.
[35:52] And terror. And the other. That talks about. Reverence. All. And joy. So. To have a clear picture of this. I will invite you to use your.
[36:05] Imagination. Imagine. Having a massive debt. That means that you. If you don't pay. People will take your house. Your possessions.
[36:16] Everything. What do you feel. At that moment. This fear. Or dread. Of the future. There is a terror. That is a servile fear.
[36:29] It is a servile fear. Because you are a slave. To something. Or someone. Who hurts your mind. There is a fear.
[36:40] Or dread. Of the person. Or the bank. You owe. You fear that situation. Because you don't have money.
[36:50] To pay that debt. That is one kind of fear. But now there is another kind of fear. Again. Use your imagination.
[37:00] You are here in Kalanesh. I am one of the wealthiest people on the planet. And at the same time. The one who has provided the most humanitarian aid.
[37:13] Comes to you. And again. An agent of that person. Comes to you. And tells you. Let's think about a name.
[37:26] Mr. Andrew Macmillan. Mr. Andrew Macmillan invites you. To his house. Because he wants to give you something. He wants to provide you.
[37:37] With something. He wants to give you something. You urgently need. And now you arrive. To his. Not wee house. To his big house.
[37:50] Do you arrive. And let me ask you this. Do you arrive to his house. With. A bad attitude. Of course not. How do you arrive to his.
[38:03] Big house. With fear. But it's not the same fear. Fearful. And it's. Fear. That you felt before.
[38:15] Why? Because you know. That that person. Is going to give you. Provide you something. In a very gracious way. So. Now you feel.
[38:25] A fear. That occurs. When you arrive. In his presence. And he shakes your hand. Mr. Andrew Macmillan. Shakes your hand. And now.
[38:36] What do you feel? Even. You are speechless. You feel. Admiration. Because. He not only tells you.
[38:48] That he already. Paid the debt. But that he will. Always provide for you. And your family. What do you feel. At that moment. A fear. But of admiration.
[39:00] Of reverence. And all. You think. How on earth. This is happening. I never thought about this. And you feel. This fear.
[39:11] This reverence. And joy. So this is just. Your. Story. A film. Whatever. But the. But there is something. More profound. And glorious.
[39:22] Than that. And listen to this. It is the story. The power. Of the gospel. The gospel. Tells us. How God. Provides.
[39:33] Or gives. What we need most. The gospel. Dear brothers and sisters. The gospel. Tells us. How God. Provides. What we need.
[39:43] Most. In life's. Toughest. Trials. And what we need most. In the most difficult times. Of our lives.
[39:55] Is God. God. God. God. That. Is the gospel.
[40:06] It is the gospel. That produces. The fear. Of the Lord. That is. A reverence. And worship. Of God. What we need most.
[40:16] In life's. Toughest. Trials. It is to behold. It is to see. The God. Who provides. God. And. This is what. Happening here. In Genesis. Chapter 22.
[40:29] The son of the promise. Was born. Finally. God's promises. Are real. God. Blessed Abraham. And Sarah. With Isaac. What a joy. For this parent.
[40:40] What a joy. To know. That God. Gave this son. To this. Elderly. Parent. And through Isaac. The promise. Of the covenant. Is becoming. Real.
[40:52] Now. Think about. The deep love. Of Abraham. The love. Of this father. For his son. Think about. The fatherhood. Think about.
[41:03] His affections. Not only. In a. Biological. Way. But. In a spiritual. Way. Because. Abraham. Knew. That through. Isaac. The blessing.
[41:15] Of the covenant. Was becoming. Real. In his. Seed. All the nations. Will be blessed. And now. God said. Take.
[41:27] Now. Thy son. His only son. Isaac. Verse 2. Whom thou. Lovest. And get thee. Into the land. Of Moria. And offer.
[41:39] Him. There. For a. Burn. Offering. Upon one. Of the mountains. Which I will tell thee of. Think about this.
[41:50] Drama. God was testing Abraham. To see if Abraham truly feared God. In other words. God was testing Abraham.
[42:01] To see if Abraham truly considered God. As the supreme treasure. Of his life. God. Thus. Thus. The awareness.
[42:12] And reverence for God. For who God is. Will lead Abraham. To surrender everything. He had to God. Nothing could. Take.
[42:23] First place. In Abraham's heart. Therefore. Abraham. Had to give God. Something he loved. With all his being. His own son.
[42:33] Now. Think about this. Tremendous drama. Here. To sacrifice. Or give to God. What Abraham loved. Most.
[42:45] This is significant. Test. But in this test. Dear brothers and sisters. In the toughest trials. That we can experience.
[42:56] Experience. God is. Teaching us. To see. His glory. Yes. There are difficult tests. In life.
[43:07] And one of them. Is sacrificing. Or giving to God. The good things. We love most. Work is good. But when.
[43:19] Work takes. The place of God. The work. Enslaves us. And we begin. To fear. Work. Your boss.
[43:29] Your colleagues. Friendship. Friendship is good. But when friendship. Takes the place of God. When our friends. Take the place of God.
[43:40] We begin to live. You know how? To please people. And those. They drain our energy.
[43:51] And we begin to fear them. When the Lord. Is not in the first place. In your heart. And good things. Work.
[44:02] Friends. Occupy. His place. In your heart. You begin to fear. Your friends. Your work.
[44:13] And you become an enslaved. We live for that people. We live for our job. And this is very sad.
[44:24] We lose. The most important things. Our family. And something very precious. Precious. Communion.
[44:36] With the living God. We work. We have friends. And study. Because they do us good. Because they bring us joy.
[44:47] Or satisfaction. But those things. Should never take the place of God. Because they are things. That expire. We do not love.
[45:06] Drink. To drink. Milk. Out of date. Everything here.
[45:18] Expire. But the Christian. Has something. That never expires. God himself.
[45:35] That's why God tells us. To surrender. Everything. To him. And what does it mean. To surrender something. Let me give you. A practical example.
[45:47] To surrender something. It is to relocate. Something. Or let it go. I have something here. With a value. But if I have a glass.
[45:59] A beautiful glass. I replace this glass. For this one. I am surrendering. Things. For new things. So to relocate.
[46:10] Or let it go. To no longer. Let those things. Occupy the first place. In my heart. And that happens. When God's grace. Works in my heart. How?
[46:21] When a bigger. And better object. Takes the place. Of another object. As I told you this. And we do this. Every day. Maybe you are a constructor. Something.
[46:32] And you have a tool. But you have now. A better tool. What do you do. With this old tool. With this old hammer. You surrender. That hammer.
[46:42] For a better hammer. We surrender things. When we find. Better things. And this is the Christian life.
[46:53] That we surrender everything. Because we have found. The greatest treasure. Of all. God himself.
[47:04] And this is God's grace. It's not that you. In your own strength. You found God. This is the gospel. That the true God. Came. To you.
[47:15] In the person of Christ. To give his life. For you. What is the proper response. Of the Christian.
[47:26] But to surrender. Everything. So I will ask. I'm going to ask you this. What things should. Should you surrender. To God. Today.
[47:38] Maybe good things. Again. You have a good job. But is your job. Occupying the first place. In your heart. Is the job. Becoming an idol.
[47:50] Maybe people. To please people. Do we live. To please people. Or do we live. To glorify God. And.
[48:03] Enjoy him. Forever. What things. Should you surrender. To God today. Maybe good things. Or bad things.
[48:17] Envy. pride, jealousy your character what if we surrender all that we have to the one who gave everything to save your life this is what God is calling us today dear church and again I know that many of us, I grew up in a Christian home with Christian parents and I heard the word the fear of the Lord in Spanish, el temor del SeƱor, I grew singing psalms with my dad in Spanish and maybe we can know all that things but I ask you this do you have the fear of the Lord in your heart and I'm not talking about terror I'm talking about this real sense of God's presence in your heart this sense of awe, reverence not a dry reverence but a reverence mixed blend with joy because it is the joy of the Lord where?
[49:28] the joy of the Lord in your heart and in verse 5 said then Abraham said to his servants abide ye here and I and the Lord will go yonder and worship this is the first time in the Bible that the word worship is mentioned in the midst of this great trial Abraham was trusting in God and along with Isaac they were worshipping God worship is an act that involves the mind the affections and the will worship God knowing this maybe when you leave this place and you maybe behold the love and the mountains there and you see the beauty of that but that beauty reminds you of the beauty of the Lord and you worship and you worship dear brothers and sisters we can talk about worship we can sing but let me ask you this where is your mind where are your affections where is your heart in worship when you worship God do you experience the sweet communion with the living God in this difficult time
[51:08] Abraham and Isaac they were worshipping the living God worship is a declaration of the greatness of God above every situation worship is a declaration it's a prophetic declaration a living declaration that the living God the one who sustains the universe sustains your life it's a prophetic declaration in the midst of this society who trusts in things that expire but the Christian heart says no I'm not satisfied with having all this I'm not satisfied with life is not about having a great a big house life is not about the achievement of things the Christian life it's about having Christ in your heart because your heart is in the heart of Christ that is the Christian life the heart of Christ his merciful heart is in you and you are in
[52:26] Christ if you want to know what it and if you are here for the first time and you think about what is the Christian life the Christian life is not about mainly it's not about doing things and working and working and working no the Christian life is about enjoyment we glorify God and we enjoy him forever that's the Christian life because you are in the heart of Christ because the Father before the foundation of the world this is glorious decided to give you to his Son and because of that the Son came and lived the perfect life for you and died the most awful death on the cross and on the third day on a Sunday morning he rise again that's why every Sabbath every Sunday we come and celebrate the resurrection of Christ that's the gospel so worship is declaring the greatness of God above every situation and now just to finish
[53:42] Isaac was speaking to his father we have the wood we have the fire but where is the sacrifice imagine the dialogue imagine the drama Abraham had to sacrifice his beloved son but the answer this is very important do not focus on Abraham or Isaac Abraham doesn't tell like Isaac you are the one no no the answer is so glorious because the answer is focused on God and his provision and Abraham said verse 8 my son God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering and that's the answer the solution Isaac for this problem the solution Abraham thought to himself the solution is not in me the solution is not in people or things the solution is God will provide for himself so and now let me finish with this what you need most is the God who provides
[54:58] God gives us God God gives the very best God himself that's the gospel if you are here for the first time this is the story the beauty of the gospel God giving the best he can give God himself or if he grew up as the children of the covenant this is the gospel Abraham has to sacrifice his beloved son but God tells him no don't do it why and this is the most important thing dear brothers and sisters because Abraham had to understand that it was God who was going to give him something much better again God was asking Abraham give me your son but it's
[56:00] God who is going to give Abraham something so much better the son Christ yes God gave him son named Isaac but Abraham had to understand that God was going to provide something better than Isaac God was going to give him a better Isaac and this is what we have to understand today God gives us a better Isaac God give us his beloved son Jesus Christ Abraham wasn't supposed to sacrifice Isaac because God the father was going to send his son to be truly sacrificed for Abraham Isaac and you that's the gospel that's why Abraham didn't sacrifice his son because
[57:01] God was telling Abraham no no no you are not going to give me your son I am going to give you my son the true and better Isaac that's what you need Abraham and this is what you people here in Kalanish this is we as human beings no matter where you are or your background or your language no we are humans created with a heart for God and the only one who can truly satisfy the thirst that it is in your heart is God himself so that's why when God is asking you all your things to surrender all your things to surrender all your life before that first you have to understand what God already gave you yes
[58:03] God is asking you today surrender your dreams surrender your plans surrender your future but before that and above that before giving something before surrendering something you have to receive not something but someone Christ the Lord in the presence of the Holy Spirit every day we have to surrender things therefore every day we need to receive more and more and more of the treasures of our God so that's the only way that we can truly give when we receive God provides the true lamb who takes away the sin of the world yes but your sin those secret thoughts affections and things that you only know what you are thinking even right now!
[59:08] Jesus shed his blood to cleanse you but at the same time to take you to enjoy again God's presence the Lord is calling us today you know what church to return to the first love the better Isaac the better Abraham Jesus Christ what a terrible sin it is to call ourselves Christians without surrendering our lives to Christ that's the reason why we don't fear God because we have not seen the greatness of God perhaps you have seen it but you might have already forgotten so today is a time to repent what a terrible sin is to call ourselves Christians without seeing the glory of Christ and without surrendering our lives to the Lordship of Christ but here is your
[60:10] Savior who died for those sins for this sins that I mentioned he already died you are forgiven truly forgiven truly forgiven therefore fear the Lord enjoy the Lord but not just you you and your children go and worship together the Lord that's why in five minutes mainly finishing the service we have the benediction when you when we are being sent to enjoy this with your family and to share the very good news with others in this way and by the grace of God and by the power of the Holy Spirit we are going to truly experience an awakening so I ask you have you seen the glory of Christ have you seen God's love for you in sending and providing his son for you again the title of the sermon what should never be missing in your life
[61:16] God gives and that is his son so if you have not surrendered your life to Christ today if you are new here if you were passing by maybe or if you have if you are already a member of this church for many many years but today I invite you to place your faith and trust in Christ have you been able to understand and embrace Jesus glorious sacrifice on the cross for sinners like you and me so I invite you to rejoice in God seeing what God has given to you just as Abraham was obedient in giving all that he loved I invite you to be obedient to God's word and surrender today all that you have to surrender to him and that is to find more delight in the glory of
[62:18] Christ than in continuing to live in fear of people things past present or future fear God dear church rejoice in God dear church forgive those you need to forgive because Christ has already forgiven our sins fear God dear church rejoice in God and place your gift at the service of Christ and the body of Christ surrender today your dreams longing and all that you are lift up your eyes to the Mount of Moria and see that the crucified lamb is for me is for you and for many people here in Canalesh and Lewis we need a truly awakening yes we need a truly revival and that revival comes when the Spirit of God touches our hearts and transform our lives to truly embrace the beauty of
