Aussie preacher declares about the power of the Blood of Jesus and its significance for believers today.
[0:00] Today we're looking at the blood of Christ. We're going to look at four different truths about the blood of Christ around our time of communion today.! The blessings of the blood. What does the blood of Christ bring to us?
[0:13] What does the blood of Christ mean for us? And the first one is that the precious blood justifies. It justifies us. The Lord Jesus paid our debt. He died in our place.
[0:24] And it tells us there in Romans chapter 5 and verse 9, But God commendeth His love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
[0:36] Much more than being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. Justification. It's a Bible truth. Justification.
[0:47] It's an act of God Almighty in which He declares a sinner to be righteous in His sight. It's a wonderful truth that God, the Almighty Judge, when He strikes that gavel on the judgment bar, says, Not guilty.
[1:02] Even though strictly we are guilty, Christ has taken our guilt and paid our fine and has justified us. And we're made righteous in the sight of God. Isn't that wonderful? And it's by the blood, it's by the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ that we're justified.
[1:17] And we're made sons. We've made at peace with God. We're made justified. The justification, it's a legal declaration. God has declared it. He's made it as a declaration that I am innocent and righteous.
[1:30] That you are innocent and righteous because of the blood that was shed on your behalf. And it's not to do with our feelings. It's to do with His declaration. It's to do with what He has declared and stated.
[1:42] And it's a positional truth. You can know that you are justified. Justified by His blood. And so we shall be saved from wrath through Him. So God's anger, God's wrath has been implicated.
[1:53] It's been dealt with by the blood of Christ because God in Christ paid the price for us. And secondly, another truth about the blood of Christ we find in Ephesians.
[2:06] In Ephesians chapter 1 and verse 7 where it talks about the precious blood redeems us. We were slaves to sin. The truth is that before Christ we were in bondage, in slavery, enslaved and bound and chained in sin.
[2:24] And redemption is a picture of the slave market of sin. That Christ has come and paid the price for us and purchased us. Like a slave is purchased and bought out of that slavery and given liberty and freedom.
[2:36] And we see that there in Ephesians 1 verse 7 it says, In whom? In Christ we have redemption. We have redemption. There's that word redemption. Through His blood.
[2:47] The forgiveness of sins according to the riches of His grace. There's redemption. There's forgiveness through His blood according to the riches of His grace. Jesus paid our ransom as the one who came and took our place and paid the price of our sin.
[3:05] The Bible says that the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. So the Lord Jesus paid that death price, that death penalty on our behalf.
[3:18] And so there's a wonderful redemption through His blood. Thirdly we're seeing there's a reconciliation. The precious blood reconciles us. While you're in Ephesians there, turn to Ephesians 2 and verse 13.
[3:30] The blood reconciles. Sin has separated us from God. It's created a big barrier. The Bible says that your sins are separated between you and God. And the Lord Jesus, He has come and He's bridged that gap.
[3:43] That great chasm of our sin. He's bridged it. And He's reconciled us. He's brought us back together. He's made us back together with God. Reconciled us. It says that in Ephesians 2 verse 13.
[3:54] But now in Christ Jesus, ye who are sometimes afar off, are made nigh by the blood of Christ. We made nigh. We made Christ to Him. Isn't that wonderful to know that Christ has made the Father close to us and reconciled us.
[4:10] Brought us back into harmony and perfect union together with Him. And it's by the blood of Christ. And fourthly, another truth about the blood is in 1 John chapter 1 verse 7.
[4:23] That once our lives were stained with sin, but the blood can wash us clean and make us clean within. Isaiah 1 verse 18 talks about that too.
[4:36] Come and let us reason together, saith the Lord. He says that though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as wool. And 1 John 1 verse 7 it says, But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another.
[4:53] And the blood of Jesus Christ, His Son, cleansed of us from all sin. Isn't that wonderful to be clean? To be cleansed, to not have the foulness, the stench, the stain of guilt, of sin, of shame.
[5:07] That can be your experience today as the blood of Christ washes us white as snow from the sin and its stains. And the guilt can be removed, but it's only by the blood.
[5:21] It's only by the blood that that can be possible. To be cleansed. Thank you.
