An encounter with the invisible God, Who has made Himself known. He is not far removed or hidden away. He visits us. His presence is evident, with His worshiping people. God is manifested, in the Glory cloud and firey pillar. He is manifested in the flesh - in the Person of Jesus Christ. And He is manifested today in the Body of Christ, the church of which He is its driving force. See www.cforu.net for sermon notes.
[0:00] 1 Timothy 3 verse 16 God manifested.
[0:32] God manifested. The God that we know and love manifested himself to man. He made himself known. Made himself shown.
[0:43] He's not hidden away, far removed, in outer space, out of touch. He's revealed himself. And the biblical word for the manifestation of God is glory.
[0:55] Through the Bible we see his revealing. We see his glory. The unveiling of it. The unfolding of God and his power as he reveals himself to the people of God.
[1:07] Now there's lots of talks about manifestations today. Manifestations in all kinds of weird and wonderful ways. But we want to make sure we've got a biblical revelation of God.
[1:17] A biblical understanding. A genuine manifestation of God. So we've got to go to the Bible for that. How does God manifest his presence? How is God's presence shown? How do we see God with us?
[1:30] God with us. We see God in that intimate relationship. The communion of Adam and Eve. The communion. The close fellowship that Adam and Eve had with Almighty God in the garden.
[1:46] Back in Genesis. Right back in Genesis. And then things changed. Genesis 3. We see after the fall. It says in verse 8 of Genesis 3. And they heard the voice of the Lord.
[1:58] God walking in the cool of the day. And Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden. You know it says they sowed to themselves fig leaves.
[2:11] Imagine what a look that would have been. It would have been ridiculous wouldn't it? To see someone with fig leaves sown together to try to have some covering. And that was what the situation was after they had fallen and they sinned.
[2:27] What a tragic picture. Adam and Eve. They knew the presence of God. They knew the manifestation of God. They heard the voice of God. They knew God walking amongst them in the cool of the garden.
[2:39] Such close fellowship. Yet lost. Taken away. What a tragic sight. And then barred from fellowship where the garden was shut off to them then.
[2:51] The manifestation of God was lost to them. In that real tangible sense that they once knew it. So let's consider God's revelation to man through the pages of scripture.
[3:03] God's revelation. God's manifestation through history. His story. God reveals himself to us. Mercy has been manifested through the pages of scripture.
[3:15] And the ultimate revelation we know is God. We are us. Emmanuel. To manifest. It means to make known. To appear. God's visiting with man.
[3:29] Let's see how God has manifested himself through his word. Firstly we see God manifested in the flame. God was manifested in the flame in Exodus 3.
[3:41] We journey there with Moses and we see Moses there. As we see that visible shocking sight of a burning bush. A bush burning yet not consumed.
[3:53] And in verse 2 of Exodus 3 it says. And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a flame of fire. Out of the midst of a bush.
[4:03] And he looked and behold the bush burnt with fire. And the bush was not consumed. The Lord appeared unto him in a flame of fire.
[4:17] God manifested in the flame. Moses experienced this glorious encounter. This glorious presence of God in this burning bush. God was manifested.
[4:28] And Moses heard his voice. And Moses said. Here am I. Then in verse 2. 12 rather. Of Exodus 3. Verse 12.
[4:39] The Lord assures Moses that he will lead him and his people out of Egypt. This was an amazing challenge to Moses. That he would somehow be taking God's people out of the slavery and bondage of Egypt.
[4:58] And he protested. But verse 12. The Lord assures him. Certainly I will be with thee. I will be with thee. Then in verse 16.
[5:10] The Lord says. Go and gather the elders of Israel together. And say unto them. The Lord God of your fathers. The God of Abraham, of Isaac and of Jacob.
[5:22] Appeared unto me. Saying I have surely visited you. And seen that which is done to you in Egypt. The Lord assured Moses. To tell the people.
[5:35] That the Lord has appeared unto me. And the Lord promised to deliver the people. God was manifested in the flame.
[5:45] In that graphic sight of the burning bush. The flame of fire. And then we know the story goes on. That the people of God were delivered.
[5:58] They were taken out of Egypt. And led through the wilderness time. Delivered through the blood. The blood. The picture of the Lamb of God. Who takes away the sins of the world.
[6:09] Taken out of Egypt. The picture of the world. And rebellion. And bondage to Satan. And God was with them. As he travelled with them. In that manifestation again.
[6:21] Of the fiery pillar. The fiery pillar. In Exodus 13. We take up the story again from verse 21. And the Lord went before them. By day in a pillar of cloud.
[6:34] To lead them the way. And by night in a pillar of fire. To give them light. To go by day and night. He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day.
[6:46] Nor the pillar of fire by night. From before the people. God was always there. The manifestation of God was always there. In the pillar of smoke.
[6:58] Of fire. Of cloud. Of cloud. God was always manifest. Through those times of the journeys. Of the children of Israel.
[7:09] Through that place of wilderness. And God then showed up again. On Mount Sinai. In the fire and thunder. In Exodus 19. As they travelled.
[7:20] They came to the Mount Sinai. And Exodus 19. From verse 16. We read how. There was thunders and lightnings. A thick cloud upon the mount. And the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud.
[7:32] So that all the people. That was in the camp. Tramble. Then verse 17. Of Exodus 19. Moses brought forth the people out of the camp. To meet with God.
[7:44] To meet with God. And they stood at the nether part of the mount. And Mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke. Because the Lord descended upon it in fire.
[7:55] Notice that again. The fire. God manifested in the flame. The smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace. And the whole mount quite greatly.
[8:06] When the voice of the trumpet sounded long. And waxed louder and louder. Moses spake. And God answered him by a voice. God manifested again. Through a voice. And the Lord came down upon Mount Sinai.
[8:18] On the top of the mount. And Moses went up. And the Lord said unto Moses. Go down. Charge the people. Lest they break through unto the Lord. To gaze. And many of them perish.
[8:29] God was manifested in the flame. In that tremendous smoke. Smoke and the voice was heard. The people trembled. And God was manifest. God's presence was very real.
[8:42] Very tangible. And yet it's interesting. It goes on after that verse 21 of Exodus 19. To say how there was a sense where the mount was cordoned off.
[8:54] It was cordoned off. They put some kind of a fence there. At the base of Mount Sinai. Because so awesome. Was the manifest presence of God. That they wanted to keep the people.
[9:06] At a distance. Lest they pressed through. And were slain. By the awesome presence of God. The glory of God showed up. God showed up. God was in the fire.
[9:17] And the cloud. He was manifest. And then we see further. When the Lord instructed God's people. To build according to the pattern. The tabernacle. The place of meeting.
[9:28] This tent structure of worship. And the tabernacle of Moses. We know is jam packed. Full of pictures. That show spiritual truth. Of Christ.
[9:39] And the saviour to come. In Exodus 33. Verse 9. We pick up the story again. When we see. That Moses entered into the tabernacle.
[9:50] The cloudy pillar descended. And stood at the door. Of the tabernacle. And the Lord. Talked with Moses. The pillar. The voice again. And all the people.
[10:00] Saw the cloudy pillar. Stand at the tabernacle door. And all the people. Rose up. And worshipped. Every man. In his tent door. And the Lord. Spake unto Moses. Face to face.
[10:11] As a man speaketh. Unto his friend. And then verse 14. It says. He. God said. My presence shall go with thee. And I will give thee rest.
[10:22] He says again. My presence. Will go with thee. Personal. With thee. You. You. You. If you were in Moses shoes. He would say.
[10:33] You personally. My presence. Will go with you. God's presence was manifest. God's presence. People could see the manifestation. When Moses came down from the mount.
[10:43] In Exodus 34. Verse 29. It says. The skin of his face. Shone. With the glory. That he had had. With that communion time. With his maker. And verse 30.
[10:54] When Moses came near to the people. They were afraid. The cloud was a visible. Powerful expression. Of the manifestation of God.
[11:05] The glory of God. Exodus 40. We read again. The cloud covered. The tent of the congregation. The glory of the Lord. Filled the tabernacle. And verse 35.
[11:15] Of Exodus 40. And Moses was not able to enter. Into the tent. Because the cloud. Abode thereon. The glory of the Lord. Filled the tabernacle.
[11:26] Again. This amazing. Graphic. Visible sight. This impressive. Awesome. Tangible sight. Of the glory of God.
[11:36] Of the manifestation of God. And the Lord God dwelt. With his people. In the Holy of Holies. His glory was there. His presence was there. Always there. In that Holy of Holies.
[11:48] And the people wanted to linger. Where the presence of God was. Where the presence stayed. The people stayed. Where the presence moved. The people moved. In Exodus 14.
[11:59] Verse 36. It says. That the cloud. Went onward. With the people. As they journey. The cloud. If the cloud. Were not taken up. Then they journeyed not.
[12:10] Till the day. It was taken up. For the cloud of the Lord. Was upon the tabernacle. By day. And fire. Was on it. By night. What an amazing. Tangible.
[12:21] Presence of God. Was there. God manifested. In the flame. In the cloud. We see. Further. As we read. It's evident. Through the pages of scripture.
[12:33] Where God shows up. In his glory. In Leviticus 9. Verse 23. It says. That Moses and Aaron. Went into the tabernacle. Of the congregation. They came out.
[12:43] And blessed the people. And the glory of the Lord. Appeared. Unto all the people. It appeared. It was manifest again. And verse 24. Of Leviticus 9. And they came a fire.
[12:53] Out from before the Lord. And consumed upon the altar. The burnt offering. And the fat. Which when all the people saw. They shouted. And fell.
[13:04] On their faces. There was worship. As the presence. Of God. Was tangible again. In Numbers 20. Verse 6. And Moses and Aaron. Went from the presence. Of the assembly.
[13:15] Unto the door. Of the tabernacle. Of the congregation. And they fell. Upon their faces. And the glory. Of the Lord. Appeared unto them. It appeared unto them. It was manifest. Again.
[13:26] God. Appeared. God was manifested. Unto his people. It's amazing. That God. Would humble himself. To dwell. In a tiny.
[13:36] Separated room. Of the tabernacle. The Holy. Of Holies. It wasn't a very. Big place. I know. Julie and I. Were blessed. In some.
[13:47] Recent months. To visit Israel. And we saw. Where the. Temple Institute. Has. Put together. Some various. Articles. Of furniture. And.
[13:58] Items of worship. That. The Hebrew. People. Are preparing. For. The new temple. To be built. And. It's pretty much. All ready. Everything's.
[14:09] Really. Just so close. For them. Just to. Start that work. You've got. The various. Descendants. Of the. The priesthood. They've checked.
[14:20] And checked. And double checked. The lineage. Of these people. To know. Who. Is in the appropriate line. Of the priests. And all those people. Have been identified.
[14:31] They're ready. To launch. The new temple. They've got all the. Various articles. Carefully constructed. As best as they. Can. Understand. What.
[14:41] The original. Receptacles. And furniture. Items. Would have looked like. And. Julie and I. Were privileged. To go and see. Some of these items. That are ready. For the new temple. That the Hebrew people.
[14:53] You know. This particular group. Of Hebrew people. Honestly believe. That they will build. A new temple. Of course. They can't at the moment. Because there's something else there. On the temple mount. But.
[15:03] Who knows. What could happen. And. And. You know. We don't know. All of these things. We don't know. Whether necessarily. These people are going to have their way. But. They're well meaning. And.
[15:14] They've got. The best of intention. And. The best. Motivation. That they can find. Within their understanding. Of things. And yet. We went into this place.
[15:25] And there was a. A recreation of this. Holy of holies. It was only a small place. It was only a small. Compartment. A small. Room. A separated room.
[15:36] Within the tabernacle. The holy. Of holies. And to think. That God humbled himself. To dwell in this small. Tiny. Separated room. Within the tabernacle.
[15:47] The holy of holies. And then in the temple. That was to be built. The glory was there. The glory was there. And he took up residence. In that. Holy. Of holies. And pictures for us.
[15:59] Where God takes up residence now. In you and me. You and me brother. And sister. He takes up residence. Inside. A person now. But we'll get to that.
[16:10] We read of Solomon's temple. When it was finished. And dedicated. The glory came down again. 2 Chronicles 5. From verse 11. God. Was manifest. God. Showed up.
[16:20] His glory came. As the priest came. To the holy place. All the priests. That were present. Were sanctified. Verse 12. Of the true Chronicles 5. The Levites.
[16:31] Which were the singers. All of them. Were there. They had their white linen cymbals. Psalteries and harps. They stood. Verse 13. The trumpeters and singers. As one. Made a sound.
[16:42] One sound to be heard. Praising and thanking the Lord. And they lifted up their voice. With their trumpets. And cymbals. And instruments. And music. What a sight it would have been. These people. Just. A mass of people.
[16:53] Dare to glorify. And lift up their voices. And praise the Lord. And they said. It said. They praised the Lord. Saying. For he is good. For his mercy endures forever.
[17:04] And then the house was filled with a clown. Even the house of the Lord. So that the priest could not stand to minister. By reason of the clown. For the glory of the Lord. Had filled the house of God.
[17:16] What an astounding. Astonishing sight. It would be. To see the glory manifest. To see the presence of God. Evident. The fire falling. The glory shining all around.
[17:27] The cloud filling the place. The people worshipping. Falling on their faces. The ministers not being able to stand. Because of the awesome nature. Of the event.
[17:38] And we see a like event. In 2 Chronicles 7 verse 3. Where it says. All the children of Israel. Saw how the fire came down. And the glory of the Lord.
[17:49] Came upon the house. They bowed themselves. With their faces to the ground. And worshiped. Praised the Lord. Saying he is good. His mercy endureth forever. The glory came.
[18:00] In the tabernacle. In the temple. It came when Elijah was there. At the time of the contest. Between the prophets of Baal. And Elijah.
[18:10] And we know the story. How the prophets of Baal. Did all of their magic tricks. And all of the hullabaloo. And all of the ritual. And fanfare. And the extreme shouting.
[18:23] And cutting of themselves. And then Elijah just simply came. In simple faith. And faith that went beyond. What you can imagine. That he poured the water on the sacrifice.
[18:34] And on the altar. On the extremities. Around about. And Elijah came down. And he prayed. Lord God of Abraham.
[18:46] Isaac and of Israel. This is 1 Kings 18. Verse 36. Let it be known this day. That thou art God in Israel. And that I am thy servant. And that I have done all these things at thy word.
[18:58] Hear me O Lord. Hear me. That this people may know. That thou art the Lord God. And that thou hast turned their heart back again. Verse 38. Then the fire of the Lord fell.
[19:09] And consumed the burnt sacrifice. And the word and the stones. And the dust. And licked up the water from the trench. And when all the people saw it. They fell on their faces. And they said.
[19:20] The Lord he is God. The Lord he is God. And Elijah said unto them. Take the prophets of Baal. Let not one of them escape.
[19:30] And they took them. And Elijah brought them down. To the brook of Kishon. And slew them there. God was manifest in the flame. We see it right through the old covenant times.
[19:43] In the flame. In the cloud. Secondly we see God manifested in the flesh. God manifested in the flesh.
[19:53] As we read to start. 1 Timothy 3.16. God was manifest in the flesh. It's talking about our Lord and Saviour. Jesus Christ. God become flesh.
[20:04] God become man. When Jesus came on the scene. People knew God was paying them a visit. We see for example Luke 7. Verse 16. Luke 7.
[20:15] Verse 16. There was a miracle there. There was fear on all. They glorified God. Saying the great prophet. Has risen up amongst us. That God had visited his people.
[20:26] When Jesus showed up. On planet earth. In Bethlehem. God showed up. God visited his people. The Godhead was wrapped in human skin.
[20:37] In flesh. In Colossians 2 verse 9. It says. For in him dwelleth all the fullness. Of the Godhead. Bodily. God. Bodily.
[20:48] John 1. We know that one. In the beginning was the word. And the word was with God. And the word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him.
[21:00] And without him was not anything made. That was made. In him was life. And the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness. And the darkness comprehended it not.
[21:12] Verse 10 of John 1. It says. He was in the world. And the world was made by him. But the world knew him not. He came unto his own. And his own received him not. But as many as received him.
[21:23] To them gave he the power to become. The sons of God. Even to them. That believe on his name. Which were born not of blood. Nor of the will of the flesh. Nor of the will of man.
[21:34] But. Of God. And the word was made flesh. And dwelt amongst us. And we beheld his glory. The glory. As of the only begotten of the Father.
[21:46] Full of grace and truth. That glory that we saw back in the Old Testament. The glory that fell in the tabernacle. The glory that was on the mount. Sinai.
[21:56] The glory that was in the Holy of Holies. In the temple. The glory. The fire that fell. In the time of sacrifice. The glory.
[22:08] We can now behold. In Christ. We beheld his glory. The word. Made flesh.
[22:19] Manifested. The manifestation of God's glory. The Lord Jesus is that complete. Absolute manifestation. Of God. The fullness of the Godhead.
[22:31] Only God himself can fully reveal God. In Colossians 1.15. It says. Of Christ who is the image. Of the invisible God. He's made the invisible visible.
[22:43] He's made the invisible. For us to see. Because to see him is to see the Father. To know him is to know the Father. In Philippians 2.
[22:54] We read of how he was in the form of God. Yet he thought it not robbery to be equal with God. Philippians 2. Verse 6. But he made himself of no reputation.
[23:09] And took upon him the form of a servant. And was made in the likeness of man. And being found in fashion as a man. He humbled himself. And became obedient unto death.
[23:20] Even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him. And given him a name which is above every name. And that at the name of Jesus.
[23:31] Every knee should bow. And every knee should bow. Of things in heaven. And things in earth. And things under the earth.
[23:43] And that every tongue should confess. That Jesus Christ is Lord. To the glory of God the Father. What an amazing truth it is for us.
[23:53] That the Lord Jesus. God made man. No other faith. Can have such a tremendous. Tangible God.
[24:07] As the God who became flesh. And dwelt amongst us. God manifested. Revealed. The word. Made flesh. Humbled. Even to death.
[24:20] And now alive again. Risen. Exalted. And coming again. And the manifestation of God. Just read the Gospels. There's the manifestation of God. Isn't there? What God did.
[24:31] When he was visiting us. And how he lived. And died for us. And then we see the grace of God. At the final closing chapters. Where the veil was rent.
[24:43] Wasn't rent from bottom to top. As if some man did it. It was rent. Where? From top to bottom. God did it. You know when you tear something. You've got to grab it.
[24:54] Both ends. And tear it. It was torn from above. Amen. God tore it. God tore the veil open. The Holy of Holies is no longer shut to us. We can enter in.
[25:05] And boldly so. Boldly so. God's glory has revealed. In the glory. Of his son. In Hebrews 1.3 it says. Who being the brightness of his glory.
[25:18] And the express image of his person. And upholding all things by the word of his power. When he by himself purged down.
[25:28] Sin sat down. On the right hand of the majesty on high. That's Hebrews 1.3. The brightness of his glory. The express image of his person.
[25:39] The glory of God was truly manifested in Christ. So we see God manifested in the flame. In the old covenant times of the fiery cloud. And the pillar.
[25:50] A sign of God's presence. We see God manifested in the flesh. In the person of our saviour. A fulfilment of all the pictures and symbols before. God manifest for us as a man.
[26:02] God manifest. Coming to earth in the person of his son. Tearing wide open the veil. So that we may enter in. And enter in boldly. Into that very holy place.
[26:13] We can enter in now. Brothers and sisters. And thirdly we see. We've seen God manifest in the flame. God manifest in the flesh. Now God manifest in the fellowship.
[26:26] In the fellowship. Something strange and wonderful happened at Pentecost. Something strange and amazing. And just earth shattering happened.
[26:36] On the day of Pentecost. Where God's powerful presence was manifested. Where people from many nations. Heard and spoke in different languages. Not learned.
[26:47] As the Holy Spirit moved on then. And from that point Peter preached. And 3,000 people were harvested into the kingdom of God. As they gave their lives to Christ.
[26:58] God manifest in the church. God manifest in the church. When we think of it. How precious and wonderful is his church.
[27:11] His church. Of course we know the physical gathering together of ourselves. There could be some here who are yet to be saved. May never be saved. We're not saying coming to a church building.
[27:24] Or gathering in a church meeting. Necessarily means you're part of the church. You might have your name on the roll. And still not being in the church. The church. But God is manifested in his church.
[27:38] In his church. You know we spoke lately about the glorious church. Now 2 Corinthians 3 verse 18. It says. But we all with open face beholding as in a glass or a mirror.
[27:51] The glory of the Lord are changed into the same image. From glory to glory. Even as by the Spirit of the Lord. And the context there. 2 Corinthians 3 verse 18.
[28:03] Is talking about Moses and his shining face. It says that we can be glorified too. And changed from glory into glory. Just as Moses' shining face showed the glory of the presence of God.
[28:18] Now the reality of God's glory is amongst his various people here today. And you're part of it. Each one of you that love the Lord. You're part of that glorious church.
[28:29] God is manifested. Christ is manifested today. In the fellowship of his body. In his body. In the function of it. The direction of it. Under the head.
[28:40] Our Lord. Who is the head of the church. And the relationship of the body. All of this is a beautiful picture. Of God manifested. On planet earth today. In the 21st century.
[28:51] And as the body of Christ. We're part of that. That wonderful. Wonderful manifestation. As we're joined to one another. As we're joined unto the head.
[29:01] Our Lord Jesus Christ. And God is manifested. In each of you. Each of you here today. You are living temples. Of the living God.
[29:11] Each one of you that knows the Saviour. There's a Holy of Holies. And it's within each of your physical bodies. That's amazing isn't it? It's not some tangible.
[29:23] Temple or tent. Or tabernacle. Some structure of man. But it's in that physical human body. That each of you have the glory. Christ in you.
[29:35] The glory of God. And we are his body. Each of us manifested. Each of us God's masterpiece. Distinct and uniquely crafted.
[29:46] In many capacities and callings. Each of you. Have that wonderful joy. And privilege. Of being God manifest. In his church. Living out.
[29:57] As you go about. Your day by day. You know. You know. The church is going to go to work Monday morning. The church is going to go shopping. Wednesday afternoon.
[30:08] You know. The church is going to go visiting another church. Through the week. You might actually talk. You know. You. You as the church. Might go and talk to another person.
[30:19] Who is the church. And. When you go and visit one another. You're going to church. In a way. There's a wonderful truth. Isn't there? That we are the church. His presence is with you.
[30:30] It's in you. It's about you. You are the manifest. Presence of God. In a sense. In a sense that you are the body of Christ. You are his hand extended. You are his feet walking.
[30:41] You are his eyes. Looking. His ears hearing. The manifest presence of God. His abiding presence. Is in his church now. Right now.
[30:51] We may not see it with the eye. As it were. The tangible sight. Of it. But it is manifested. In you. My brothers.
[31:03] And my sisters. In each of us. Who love the Lord Jesus. There's a wonderful truth to that. So be Christ. To your community. Be Christ to your neighbour.
[31:14] Manifest him. To your world. Where you go. Where you work. Where you shop. Where you live. Manifest his glory. Manifest his love. Manifest his person.
[31:24] Manifest him. To your world. God. Because Isaiah 43. 7. The Lord says. Everyone that is called. By my name. I have created him.
[31:36] For my glory. I have formed him. Yea. I have made him. Think of that. You know. That's a verse that. If you are called. By his name.
[31:47] If you are called. By his name. A Christian. If you are called. By his name. Then he says to you. Isaiah 43. Verse 7. I have created you.
[31:58] For my glory. I have formed you. Yea. I have made you. Isn't that wonderful. To think that God. Would choose us. Would love us. Would save us.
[32:10] Would care for us. And he says. I have made you. I have formed you. I have created you. For my glory. So we are meant to reveal him. To be those vessels.
[32:21] To be those temples. Those containers. Of his glory. Your body. Is the temple of the Holy Spirit. If you are a saved man. A safe woman today.
[32:32] You take him wherever you go. An empty church building. Does not house his presence. His people do. He is housed in you. In you. So be a testimony.
[32:42] For his glory. Be used of God. Let God. Be manifest in your life. God. Is. Manifest. In other words. He is revealed.
[32:53] He was manifest in the flame. In the cloudy pillar. By day. By night. They could see. The glory. The manifest. Presence of the almighty God. God was manifest in the flesh.
[33:05] In the person of his son. Our redeemer. And saviour. And God is manifest in the fellowship. In the fellowship of God's people. The body of Christ today.
[33:16] And one day we will be in glory. And his ultimate manifestation we will see. Amen. At the back of the book. Revelation 21 and 22.
[33:27] We see Revelation 21. Verse 23. The city had no need of the sun. Neither of the moon to shine in it. For the glory of God did lie to them.
[33:38] And the lamb is the light thereof. You know there's no temple there. But the glory. Of God. Is there. In that city. Yet to come.
[33:50] And then Revelation 22. Verse 4. It says. And they. His people. Shall see. His face. And his name. Shall be. In their foreheads.
[34:01] That's wonderful. Isn't it? That we will see his face. Brothers and sisters. And thank God we can take heart today. That there is a wonderful communion we can know.
[34:12] The Old Testament folk. They had the pictures and signs and symbols. The types. The kind of examples to foretell the coming reality.
[34:28] They had the temple. The tabernacle. The holy of holies. The glory. The pillar of cloud. And fire. God was manifest in the flame. For us we know God is manifest in the flesh.
[34:40] God become man. The word made flesh. Dwelt amongst us. And we beheld his glory. The tangible God. Is not far removed. You can know him personally.
[34:51] God visited planet earth. And he still is here. In the spirit. In the body of Christ. In the fellowship. Of his people. And you are part of that. You that know him today.
[35:01] So take heart. When you go about your lives. God is not far removed. He's in you. He's with you. He's for you. And you know victory because of that today.
[35:13] Through that faith in him. Friends to close. For this purpose. For this purpose. The son of God. Was manifested.
[35:24] That he might destroy. The works of the devil. Yes. 1 John 3 verse 8. Jesus has come to destroy. The works of the devil. And friends.
[35:35] we've heard somewhat of the sin, of the righteousness that we should seek, of the judgment to come. We see the darkening days we're in.
[35:48] We see how serious this time is. That the works of the devil are all around about us. And ever so. But for this purpose, the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
[36:03] I urge you today to trust him. To trust him for time and eternity. To trust him now. To trust him forever. To save your soul. And I urge you, if you can, but trust him.
[36:19] Everything changes. Now, it doesn't mean you're going to suddenly become wealthy and healthy and wise. But everything changes in terms of your eternal destination.
[36:31] It changes at that instant of time. At that moment. And for this purpose, the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Are you under the devil's domain?
[36:43] Or are you in the kingdom of God? There's really only two places to stand. And thank God it says that we can transfer from death unto life.
[36:56] Pass from death unto life. John 5. And it says that we can be translated from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of God's dear Son.
[37:06] And I pray that you'll find that transfer today. That transfer of your sin on him. His righteousness on you.
[37:18] It's a wonderful transaction that happens. Let us pray.
[37:30]
