What God wants me to do

Description

The fundamentals of a life well lived are spelled out for us, 2500 years ago, in Micah 6:8. Stop and think as you make choices in life. "Get wisdom". Faith is lived out and outworks in mercy towards others and humility towards God. It's a new way of walking with the Saviour at your side.

[0:00] What does God want from me? What does he want me to do? What does he want from us? And how do you boil that down into a simple formula? How do you put it in a crystallized little formula if you like?

[0:28] What does he want from us? How do you put it in a crystallized little formula? How do you put it in a crystallized little formula? How do you put it in a crystallized little formula?

[0:51] 6 verse 8, Micah 6 verse 8, it just pins it all down to these three key points, if you like. We're told here how to please God, how we can please God with our lives. It's not saying how to get saved, but it's telling us how to behave after we get saved. And our Creator here, he puts it in simple terminology. You are created and you have a reason to live.

[1:18] You have a purpose for life. And here we will see these three dimensions we'll look at. What God wants for me, what God wants me to do. How can we know right living? How can we know abundant life in these three dimensions, if you like. Inward, outward and upward. Three dimensions. So what does God require of us? He hath showed thee, O man, what is good.

[1:48] And what doth the Lord require of thee? I'd like to think at the end of this message, you'll know this verse. He hath showed thee, O man, what is good. Let's say it together.

[2:00] He hath showed thee, O man, what is good. And what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God. Do justly. Do justly. Do the right thing. Do what's right. Are you doing justly? What does this mean? It's talking about doing right. The right thing. We're called to walk truthfully in truth. It's telling us about conduct. It should be upright and faithful. We should do what is right. We should do what is honourable. What honours God, what brings glory to our God. Do we bother about doing the right thing. You know, what's the world doing? Generally the wrong thing, isn't it?

[2:56] Any way they can diddle, centrelink, or they can fudge their tax and cheat and do the wrong thing, get away with it. But what does God say? Do justly. Do justly. Do we care that our ways are acceptable unto God? Paul says in Ephesians 5.10, proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. What is acceptable unto the Lord. In other words, it's telling us, it's challenging us there, discern what's right and do it. Do what is acceptable to God. What pleases Him. He sees those things that are done in secret and those things that are not done right. And when we make life's choices, He is the one who sees it all. Do we stop, actually stop and think about the choices that we make and ask ourselves, is this choice acceptable unto the Lord, unto the one who sets the highest standard? Is this choice, is this decision, is this course of action that I'm determining on, is it going to please God? Is it acceptable to Him? That's what matters. Do justly. It's about righteousness in action. It's about applied

[4:11] Christianity. It's about practical Christianity. Do justly. Here's the justice of the High Court, the Supreme Supreme Court. And it speaks of doing that integrity and character, which has got integrity and character, so that you're the same in view and outside of you. So you're an open book. So people can't say, oh, I saw so-and-so down the tab, wasting all their money or whatever it is, or glugging it down, whatever it be, making a fool of themselves, blowing their testimony, being an idiot. Do justly. It speaks of integrity and character. Do justly. It talks about God's way. Doing what's right, doing what's faithful and just as we trust in God. Do justly. It outworks in our life, in the practicalities of life and in how we relate with other people. Our Lord says, whatsoever you would that men should do to you, do you even so to them. Render to every man his due.

[5:19] Do justly. It talks about standing for what is right and doing it. As David cried out in Psalm 51, Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts, and in the hidden part, thou shalt make me to know wisdom. Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts. It's right on the inside of us. He's the one who sees us through and through, inside and out. And delight to do what is right, what is just, what is true, what is wise, what is good. It's an inward work and it's a choice we make, isn't it? It's a determination that we make. It's an inward work and it says that I will do justly. I will make it a lifestyle to do what is right, to do what is honest, what is fair, what is full of integrity and true. And when faced with a choice between what is right and what is doubtful, choose what is right. Choose what is right. So you've got a clear conscience. And if you haven't done what is right, make it right. Determine from here on to make it right, to do right. You know, we all can make mistakes and things that we regret. Let's make a decision to do justly, to do the right thing.

[6:34] When faced with a choice between what is right and what is doubtful, let us choose what is right, not what is doubtful. If it's doubtful, don't. When doing wrong is the easier path, choose what is right. When the crowd is taking the wrong path, don't follow the crowd. Do right. Do right. It's wise to do right. To do justly is the wise thing to do. How do we need wisdom? We need wisdom. In Proverbs 4, it tells much of wisdom. It says this is something to treasure, to search out and find and grab with both hands. Wisdom. Get wisdom. Get understanding.

[7:17] Forget it not. Neither decline from the words of my mouth. In other words, don't decline from what this says. Do right. Do right. Get wisdom. Here it is. God's book. Get wisdom. Get understanding.

[7:32] Forget it not. Put it in your heart and remember it. Apply it. In honest God to do what is right. God calls us to be just. To be just. And He makes us just. Isn't it wonderful to know that we are declared justified. Justified. We declared just. We declared righteous. So let's aspire to that. Let's not let Him down with our conduct. But let's live up to His expectations. Romans 5.1 it says, therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. You've been justified. He looks at you as just. Let's live up to that.

[8:15] Let's be that just people. Do justly. It says in Habakkuk 2.4 in part, the just shall live by His faith. The just shall live by faith. Our faith should be lived out in the day by day.

[8:28] In our shoes. In the Monday to Sunday. 365. 24 by 7. Let's live out our faith. Do justly.

[8:42] We're made righteous by God. We're declared righteous by faith in God. Made alive by faith. We're saved by work. We're saved by work. Not by our works. We're saved by one work. One work. The finished work of God. The work of God. It says in John 6.28. People came to Christ and they said, what should we do that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, this is the work of God that you believe on Him whom He hath sent. So we're saved by work.

[9:27] Not by our works. But by the one work. The one work of the cross. The finished work of the cross where everything was done that had to be done to save you, to save me. The one work, the work of the cross. So we can have faith in Christ today. And that is how He declares us just. Justified by faith. Do justly. Do justly. Faith is the starting point, if you like. Believe in Christ. And when we are saved, we get a new heart. We get a new master. We get a new motivation. Believe in Jesus. This is the work of God. Let you believe in the Lord Jesus. And may your lifestyle match up with your lips. You know, some profess to believe, yet it's not evident. Let your lifestyle match up with your lips. Walk the talk. Do what the master says. It's about hearing the master's voice and taking action. In John 2 verse 5, Mary, the mother of our Lord, said unto the servants, whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.

[10:34] Whatever he says to you, do it. So this is what he says, isn't it? His word, that's what he says. Just do it. So don't just be a hearer, but be a doer of the word. Do what he says.

[10:47] Do his word. Do his will. Do right. Don't just be a hearer, but be a doer of the word. Do what he says. Do his word. Do his will. Do right. Do justly. So who decides what is right? God does. God decides what is right. So importantly, do justly. Seek wisdom. Don't deviate from his voice, his word. Let's say this together. He hath showed thee, O man, what is good, and what did the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God. A bit like some of these Anglican churches, aren't we?

[11:26] We've got some responsive readings here today. But it's a good thing to read the word of God, to speak the word of God, to declare the word of God. He hath showed thee, O man. The Lord Jesus was a living demonstration. He demonstrated this. He demonstrated Micah 6, verse 8. The Lord Jesus was a living demonstration of these truths, this truth in action. So number one, do justly.

[11:51] Secondly, love mercy. Mercy. Mercy. He's called us to love mercy, to show mercy. What is mercy? I've heard it put that it means treating people better than they deserve to be treated. And even when you don't feel like it. It's a good definition, isn't it? Treating people better than they deserve to be treated. And even when we don't feel like it. That's showing mercy.

[12:21] That's loving mercy. God in mercy has saved us, hasn't he? God in mercy has saved us. Did we deserve it? No, sir. Not one. But we are told to love mercy. And he shows mercy, so should we. So it's talking about how we should treat people. It's about relationships, isn't it?

[12:42] The people in our lives. God's put people in our lives, hasn't he? And we've all got a different circle of influence. We've all got different people we rub shoulders with or impact or connect with. The people in our lives. God's put them in our lives for a reason, hasn't he? Even the people we don't always get along with. It's about relationships. It's about showing mercy.

[13:09] It's about having that warm heart and that compassion that goes beyond our own intellect, our own wishes and will. That we should do mercy. We should love mercy. We should show mercy.

[13:23] In other words, treat others fairly. You know, it's hard sometimes, isn't it? You know, I got annoyed with someone this last week because they delivered something and they didn't put it inside the house. So I was worried that it was going to get stolen. And I got annoyed with them. But the whole thing of practical situations where, well, I shouldn't have acted like that really. Can you think of situations like that? You haven't shown mercy to someone?

[13:52] I know I can. It's about having that heart for others, that compassion for others. And treating others fairly even when you feel like they've done the wrong thing. And it's about having an eye for the others in our lives. There's one man of God said long ago this. He said, do all the good you can.

[14:11] We've only got one life span. Love mercy. Love mercy. Be tenderhearted. Be gracious to the people in your life.

[14:41] Even those who rub you up the wrong way, God will help you to love mercy. It speaks of forgiveness. Forgiveness. Forgiveness. That's a nice word, isn't it? We can write forgiveness down on paper, but not put it into action.

[14:55] I saw a preacher demonstrate this in a clip that I saw. And he said, write down, grab a piece of paper and write down someone that you've got a problem with.

[15:07] Write their name down on what they've done to you. Write down to you. No one else is going to see it. What they've done to you. How they've wronged you. How they've hurt you. How they've done you wrong. And they've really hurt you deeply.

[15:22] Write their name down on what they've done. No one else is going to see it. And then he says, take that piece of paper and go to the bathroom and flush it down the toilet.

[15:36] Just as a kind of picture, a symbol of what to do with your hatred, with your disappointment, with your unforgiveness.

[15:47] And to get rid of it. Get rid of it. You know, we don't have to do that in such a way, but it's the principle, isn't it? Of get rid of your unforgiveness.

[15:57] If there's something you're bearing against someone. Some past trouble. Some past hurt. Even for those who don't deserve it, you know they don't deserve it. Does it say love mercy when they deserve it?

[16:12] There's no exception there. There's no but or if. There's no addition to that. Just says love mercy. Think of the mercy that God has extended to us.

[16:24] Did we deserve it? No, we didn't. Someone has said this. If our greatest need had been information, God would have sent us an educator.

[16:35] If our greatest need had been technology, God would have sent us a scientist. If our greatest need had been money, God would have sent us an economist.

[16:46] If our greatest need had been entertainment, God would have sent us an entertainer. But our greatest need was forgiveness.

[16:58] So God sent us a saviour. God sent us a saviour. God sent us a saviour. Be ready to forgive. Those grudges, don't hold on to them any longer.

[17:10] Flush them away. Let God take it away. Let go of that bitterness. You might want to do that exercise yourself. But whatever the case, give it to God. Give it to Him.

[17:21] Let it go. Let it be gone. That resentment, those hurts. And love mercy. Love mercy. Love mercy. Even to those who mistreat you.

[17:32] To those who think, well, they've never said sorry. So what? Doesn't matter. Love mercy. Love mercy. Our model is the Lord Jesus. Father, forgive them.

[17:44] They don't know what they're doing. He says, blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. Love mercy. God's grace to us.

[17:56] It should change us. Love mercy. Share God's forgiveness with those you need. And touch the lives that you touch. Show God's forgiveness to them.

[18:08] Even when they don't deserve it. Share God's kindness to them. Go against the grain. Go against the flow. Go against the crown. And do what comes supernaturally.

[18:23] Show mercy. There's a great power in forgiveness. You know, there's someone that gave us a lot of grief and it's all gone now. It's gone. There's no unforgiveness there.

[18:37] It's set them free and it's set me free. It sets you free when you forgive. When you release people. They're released and so are you.

[18:49] You don't carry it any longer. Set people free and set yourself free. Forgive. Forgive. Mercy. And it doesn't do anyone any good to dwell in unforgiveness.

[19:05] Don't stay there. You might say, oh, I want to camp out there a little bit longer. I want to camp out in camp unforgiveness. I've got my tent pegs firmly in the ground there. And my tent is in that land of unforgiveness.

[19:19] No. You need to move camp. Pull up stakes and get out of that place. Amen. And go to the place of forgiveness. And let it go. Thirdly, we say, walk humbly with thy God.

[19:32] One of the biggest problems for ourselves, and I'm speaking for myself, is ourselves. One of the biggest problems for ourselves is ourselves.

[19:42] Amen. It's the one you look at in the mirror. Well, I say that for myself, at least. You might be more godly than me.

[19:53] But we live in a very self-centered world, don't we? Don't we? A self-centered culture. And we are our own worst enemy sometimes.

[20:04] Our own worst enemy. It says, walk humbly with thy God. Walk humbly with thy God. It's my life.

[20:15] People say. They sing it, don't they? It's my life. My money. My decisions. My needs. The selfie world, isn't it?

[20:28] You know? I've done this before. Whoa. Just got to take a picture of myself. All the time. Post it everywhere. All the time. As if people haven't seen my face enough.

[20:40] On Facebook. Look. Humility is lacking, isn't it? We are our own worst enemy sometimes. Isn't that true? It's my life.

[20:51] You don't need a self-help book. You need God's help book. You don't need self-help. You need God's help. And when we are a Christian, our focus shifts to pleasing God instead of pleasing ourselves.

[21:05] You know, there was a man who was used mightily of God. And his name is well-known, George Mueller. And he was asked one day the secret of his service.

[21:16] And he said this. There was a day when I died. I utterly died. Died to George Mueller.

[21:30] His opinions, preferences, tastes, and will. Died to the world. Its approval or censure. Died to the approval or blame.

[21:41] Even to my brethren and friends. And since then, I have studied to show myself approved unto God. There was a day that I died. Utterly died.

[21:53] He died to himself. He walked humbly with God. And for us to truly do justly and to love mercy, it starts with walking humbly with thy God.

[22:09] With our God. To deny ourselves is to die to self and pride. Pride. Pride. Gets in the way.

[22:20] So many times. Pride. It gets in the way of living for God. We can think, as was read earlier, more highly of ourselves than we ought to think.

[22:34] You know, we're nothing. We're a worm. We're nothing in God's sight. And he is everything. Everything. Pride gets in the way.

[22:47] We can get proud about our training, about our doctrine, about our church, about how we do things, about how we know better than the other man or woman or whatever it be.

[23:03] But pride can be a big problem. And we all face it. I face it. I'm prideful sometimes and I need to nail it. We all need to deal with it.

[23:15] To deny ourselves. To die to self. To pride. Because the word says God lifts up the humble. The humble. That's who he lifts up.

[23:27] Those who humble themselves. So, as was said earlier, yield yourself to God. Give yourself to God. Be a living sacrifice. Yield yourself to God.

[23:41] There's no place for pride there, is there? When we're on the altar, there's no place for pride there. Pride will get in the way and make you an ineffective Christian. You know, there was a young woman who went and saw the pastor one day to have some counselling.

[23:57] She said she's got a besetting sin. There was a besetting sin, something that really had a hold of her. This sin that she had, she was really worried about it. And she said, Pastor, I've become aware of a sin in my life which I cannot control.

[24:13] Every time I'm at church, I begin to look around at the other women and I realise that I am the prettiest one in the whole congregation.

[24:23] None of the others can compare with me, with my beauty. What can I do about this sin? And the pastor replied, Mary, that's not a sin.

[24:37] Why, that's just a mistake. Just a mistake. She had this idea, she was the prettiest woman. But really, it was a mistake. But it was about her pride.

[24:49] That was the problem, wasn't it? Pride is the problem. So let's get, let go of pride. Let it go. Let go of unforgiveness. Let go of pride. Come humbly unto him.

[25:00] He calls us to deny ourselves, to walk humbly with thy God. Jeremiah 9, 23, it says, Thus saith the Lord, let not the wise men glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty glory in his might.

[25:15] Let not the rich men glory in his riches, but let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the Lord, which exercise loving kindness, judgment and righteousness in the earth.

[25:32] For in these things I delight, saith the Lord. Amen. Let not the wise men glory in his wisdom, that glory in anything, that you can lay credit to.

[25:43] Let not the wise men glory in his might, let not the rich men glory in his riches, but let him that glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the Lord.

[25:56] This is humility that transforms us. When we accept God's method of salvation, we humble ourselves, and we see ourselves as needing a saviour.

[26:11] Man's greatest need? Forgiveness. The answer, the saviour. The saviour. Our great need of salvation, is when we humble ourselves, and come unto him, we find the answer, and it's entirely in him.

[26:30] Not in us. Not in our wisdom, might, glory, power, riches, strength. His grace, that all our hope and help, is truly found in him.

[26:42] To walk humbly with thy God. Think of that. How can I walk this week ahead? To walk humbly. It involves following his teaching. It's placing our heart's trust in his way, in him, in his accomplished work.

[26:57] You're not keeping yourself saved. He is. Thank God for that. Wow. That's a revelation, isn't it? Whew. He's keeping me.

[27:09] He's sustaining me. He's empowering me. He's accomplished it, way back then. And he's keeping me, his child, the answer is him. And humbly placing ourselves entirely, in his keeping, in his care, trusting in him, in his accomplished work.

[27:26] As clay upon the potter's wheel, knowing we're lousy, and we need his working. Knowing there's nothing, that we can do.

[27:37] But he does, it all in his mercy. Be a servant. Humbly. Walk humbly with thy God. Talks of service. Be ready to serve. You know, when there's a need, jump up.

[27:50] I'm going to volunteer. Be ready to serve. I know there's people, with that heart today, and I thank God, for that. Be ready to serve. Don't have, you don't have to be badgered.

[28:02] Or harangued. Or a buttonhole, or whatever they call it. But depend on God. Serve God. Walk humbly. Walk worthy. Walk worthy.

[28:13] Colossians 1.10, it says, that you might walk worthy, of the Lord, unto all pleasing, being fruitful, in every good work, and increasing, in the knowledge of God. Walk worthy.

[28:26] Walk in submission, to his will. The word walk, speaks of movement, speaks of motion. You know, you don't have to know the Greek, or the Hebrew, which is what it means.

[28:37] Walk means walk, doesn't it? It means move. It means get your feet moving. Get into action. Get into motion. God wants us to be dynamic. Going, Christians. Go.

[28:48] Go ye. Go. Go. Go. Go. How is your relationship with God? Have you lost your momentum? We can lose our momentum, can't we? We can get stuck in the quagmire, in the sinking sand, in the marshy mud, but he wants us to walk.

[29:07] Are you walking with God? We all could do that. You know, as pastors, we hear all the horror stories of how people are totally, you know, messing up.

[29:19] I've been there. We've all been there. You're not alone. No one is any better than another. No one is of more quality than another. We're all the same.

[29:30] We're all as needing His grace as one another. And you've fouled up, so have I. It makes us human, doesn't it? Walk worthy of God.

[29:42] It speaks of motion. Keep those feet moving. Keep going. Keep dynamic. Keep going with God. Don't lose your momentum. Are you walking with God? Walk humbly with thy God.

[29:53] Are you walking with God or standing still? Or worse, going backwards. Walk with God. He causes into loving fellowship with Him.

[30:05] Walking with God. What does that mean? It means being aware of God's presence day by day. He never leaves you. He's there with you. Be aware of His presence.

[30:16] Be conscious of it. There's a man named Enoch. He walked with God. And he just kept on walking. Woo! That's amazing, isn't it? Enoch was not, for God took him.

[30:28] Genesis 5.24. He had this testimony that he pleased God. Wow. Wouldn't you like to walk with God like that? Amen. Just walk, walk, walk. Up to the glory. Walk with God.

[30:39] Listen to God. Search His word. Walk with God. The marginal reading here in Micah is, humble thyself to walk with God. Humble thyself to walk with God.

[30:50] And so we call to humble ourselves. It's a new way of walking. Not independently, but in dependence upon Him. How are we to walk in? In Ephesians 5 we read, walk as wise.

[31:01] See then that you walk circumspectly. It means having your wits about you. It means looking all around you. All about you. You know, circum means around. Circumspectly means having that alertness as you're walking.

[31:15] Not as fools, but as wise. We need to be on the alert. It's what it's saying. Redeeming the time because the days are evil. So what is the best use of my time? Our time.

[31:26] Time is precious. We don't see it again once it's spent. We show where our loyalty is. Where our priorities are by how we use our time. So use your time for God. As best as you can.

[31:39] Walk circumspectly. Walk wisely. And we say walk in love. It says in Ephesians 5.2 And walk in love. As Christ also has loved us and has given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savin'.

[31:56] Walk in love. Walk in love. You know, as a young man I was separated from my wife before we got married for some seven months.

[32:08] I was studying elsewhere as we were, we weren't engaged then, were we? But we were friends. And she used to send me these letters, smelly letters.

[32:21] And it said, S-W-A-L-K. Sealed with a loving kiss. And she poured the perfume on the letter. And the people at the college there thought, this is a bit crazy.

[32:35] And I got told off for it. All the, you know, my darling, dear sweetheart, Andrew, you know, she used to address it or something like that. But there was a certain perfume.

[32:46] There was a certain aroma. A fragrance. As I opened that letter, I could smell my darling girlfriend at the time, or wife-to-be. And there was a fragrance.

[32:57] There was a sweet smelling savor there. And, you know, there's meant to be a sweet smell about us, isn't there? We're meant to be a sweet smelling savor, aren't we? Walk in love.

[33:08] Walk in love. Let there be a perfume, as it were. Let there be a sweet smell about you. And I think there is some smelly Christians here. But they want you to have a sweet smell. A sweet smelling savor.

[33:18] To have that sweet aroma. Let go of bitterness and sweeten up. Amen. Let go of bitterness and sweeten up. Walk in love. Walk in wisdom.

[33:30] Colossians 4 verse 5, it says, Walk in wisdom toward them that are without. I do, it'll tell me off afterwards. Walk in wisdom towards them that are without. Redeeming the time. There's that word again. Most of all, walk with God.

[33:42] Friends today, stay by His side. Walk with God. Walk with God. In other words, take the same direction as Him. The same path. The same purpose.

[33:53] The same pace. The same destination. When you walk with God, link arms with Him. Walk on in arms, head in God's direction. That's what it's saying. Walk humbly with God.

[34:04] Let Him lead you as you walk with God. It says in 1 Peter 5, God opposes the proud, but He gives grace to the humble. Isaiah 57, for thus saith the high and lofty one that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is holy, I dwell in the high and holy place, with Him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble and to revive the heart.

[34:32] Of the contrite one. Friends, He's the high and lofty one. He dwells in the high and holy place, but He dwells with you and me. Wow. Isn't that wonderful?

[34:43] That the high and lofty one, the high and lofty one, should step down and come and visit with you and me. In this place, in this place, in this part of the world, with those who are of a humble and contrite spirit.

[34:59] A contrite, it speaks of repentance. It speaks of getting right with God. Humble spirit. Have you bound your heart? How is your heart?

[35:10] Your will? God will dwell with you. If you are one who has a humble and contrite spirit. God will dwell with you. And He'll walk with you.

[35:22] And talk with you. Search for God's ways. Brothers and sisters, this is really very simple. But simple truths and important truths today. What does God want me to do?

[35:34] What does God want me to do? Search for His ways, for His will. Stay in close communion with Him. Don't stray from His company. Walk with God.

[35:45] Get a hold of God. Let God get a hold of you. Walk with God. Stand in awe of Him. In close communion with Him. Submit to Him. Delight to do His will.

[35:55] Not your will. Be content with what you have. Be content with what He has given you. Depend upon Him. Walk humbly with thy God.

[36:06] Will you determine to walk with God? You might be a Christian and you might say, Preacher, I've blown it. I've messed up. I've got off track. I'm so ashamed, embarrassed.

[36:17] I've made a mess of it. God knows. He knows. Just come to Him. He'll dwell with you. I know David in the Psalms talk about a broken.

[36:30] A broken spirit. You might feel broken today. You might be shattered in a thousand pieces. He can put you back together again. He can take you and make you and lead you and guide you for the future.

[36:44] This is the new day. This is a decision point that we can all make. Not to make it a kind of hyped up kind of thing. But you can decide.

[36:56] You can make a decision by faith. That I'm going to walk with God. That's what I'm going to do. And sure, I might slip and slide and get detoured now and again.

[37:07] But God helping me, I'm going to walk with God. God helping me, I'm going to delight to do His will. God helping me, I'm going to depend upon Him. Determined to walk with God. Make this your prayer as we come to a close.

[37:20] Let that be a prayer today. Show me thy ways, O Lord. Teach me thy paths.

[37:32] Lead me in thy truth. And teach me. For thou art the God of my salvation. On thee do I wait all the day.

[37:46] Friends, think of that scripture again. Just as we wrap up. What does God want me to do? It's very simple, really.

[38:02] Let's say it together just one more time. He hath showed thee, O man, what is good. And what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with thy God.

[38:18] Do justly. Do the right thing. Don't live in regret doing the wrong thing. Do the right thing. So you've got a clear conscience before God and men. You're above reproach.

[38:29] You've got no skeletons in the cupboard. You've settled things. You've got things right. If you owe people money, whatever it be, things you've got to sort out, get it sorted. Do justly. Do the right thing. Secondly, love mercy.

[38:43] It's about relationships. It's about forgiveness. Don't stay in unforgiveness. Move house. Change camp.

[38:55] From camp unforgiveness to camp forgiveness. Let it go. Flush it away. Whatever it be. Don't hang on to it.

[39:05] And thirdly, walk humbly with thy God. Have a humble heart. A willing heart. A servant heart. Humble yourself before God. It's a finished work.

[39:19] Hang on to that. That Christ has died for your sin. All your sin. He's paid for it all back then. By his grace and mercy. Live like it now. Walk in his truth.

[39:29] Walk humbly with God. Walk in love. Walk in the spirit. Walk in the light. Let us pray.
