The Bible tells much of God's glory. What's it all about? And what does it mean for you? How you can experience - and display the great glory of God. A message preached at Church For You, South Australia, on 2 June 2019.
[0:00] It's a blessing you're here tonight. I know there's numbers not here, but there's some! Blessed fellowship right here. I know just this morning someone was telling me they work! a 13-hour day normally, so I was glad that he made it this morning. I know it can be hard when you're working hard and long weeks, long days, but it's good fellowship, isn't it? It's cold outside, but there's warm fellowship amongst God's people. A message tonight on the glory of God, and I've spoken on similar themes of sorts, but talking about God's glory and how we can glorify God, how we can give him glory. And the Bible speaks much about the glory of God, about glorifying God, his glory. What is it? The glory of God. It's his presence, his power, his preeminence. David cried out in Psalm 19, verse 1, Psalm 19, verse 1, the heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament showeth forth his handiwork. The heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament showeth his handiwork. When we go outside, we see the starry sky, we see the sunset, the sunrise, we see the glory of God written all over the skies, don't we? His glory, his great glory. God's glory, it speaks of his character. It speaks of his character displayed, of his worth, of the fullness of God, his glory. It's his brightness, it's his majesty. How do we put it in human words, in human language? The glory was evident at the visitation of God amongst his people in the tabernacle. And at Solomon's temple, we see in 2 Chronicles 7, you might want to turn to 2 Chronicles 7, at the dedication of Solomon's temple.
[1:48] 2 Chronicles 7, from verse 1, it reads, Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering, and the sacrifice of Solomon's temple.
