Remember now they Creator

[0:00] Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth. These are words that King Solomon wrote about 3000 years ago.

[0:12] ! Let's unpack a little about what that means for us.

[0:35] Solomon shows in his book how life without God is meaningless. That's the point of Ecclesiastes, the early chapters of it. And then he comes to the conclusion that what makes life meaningful is a relationship with the living God.

[0:53] He says here, don't waste your life. Remember your Creator in the days of your youth. I can think back for myself as a young man, 15 years old, as when I trusted Christ as my Saviour.

[1:07] And really I've never looked back. It's been that life changing moment that has impacted me for my whole lifetime. Solomon says don't waste your life. Remember your Creator in the days of your youth.

[1:20] As a young person that's really the most ideal time to start that journey with God. Here's what it says. Remember who? It says remember who? Thy Creator.

[1:31] You were purposefully made, created. The Lord God has made you and he cares about you. God is like a potter and we are like a lump of clay in his hands that he shapes.

[1:47] Remember when? It says remember now thy Creator. You are setting out now on life's journey as that young person.

[1:58] It's just starting for you. You're setting your life's direction. The rest of your life is in a way really just working out the decisions that you make now in the days of your youth.

[2:10] So you are at a critical place in your life right now. Right now it is decision time for you. It's like you're at a fork in the road.

[2:21] You can go one way or the other. And you've got to make that decision. Solomon says evil days lie ahead and we can expect to face some difficult days ahead as we grow older.

[2:35] Tougher days. Remember God in the days of your youth because it will help you to fight against temptation later on. If you've come to faith in God now, that will see you through any evil days that lie ahead of you.

[2:51] Taking that right path now will help you to avoid consequences that can last a lifetime. So make the right choices now. Solomon says how as we get older we face maybe losing some things.

[3:08] He talks through this chapter of losing for example our eyesight. Losing our hearing. Even our teeth. We know that as we grow older we'll lose our strength.

[3:23] We'll get all kinds of aches and pains. We won't have that same energy that we have as a younger person as we get older. The fact is you will slow down.

[3:35] And maybe you won't be as strong and as healthy as you grow older. So remember now thy Creator. Remember thy Creator now. Give your life to God now.

[3:47] You are at the crossroads. If you believe in Jesus and follow him in your life now, the time will come when you will be able to look back to this time of your life.

[3:59] You'll feel good about your life because you've made those right decisions young in life. Remember God now. In the present. Right now.

[4:10] Do it now. God has given young people so much. So much time, energy, strength, talent. You can give your life over to God and know him personally right now.

[4:23] And into the future. Life is short and fragile. We are in the process of dying everyday when you think about it. Because we are getting closer to that day of our death.

[4:35] So remember your Creator today before you die. That's really important. It says remember now thy Creator. When you believe he is your God.

[4:47] It's personal. When you become a believer. When you trust Christ as your Saviour. It's between you and him. Between you and God. And we belong to this God.

[4:58] Because he has given us his great love to save us. Your Creator offers his gift of salvation by our Lord Jesus. We can find eternal life.

[5:09] And when as a young person you make decisions about your life. Remember your Creator. Remember what God has done for you. Remember what you have learnt about God.

[5:21] When in time you search for friends. And perhaps the one you will marry. Remember your Creator. And what pleases him. In how you interact with people.

[5:33] In those decisions that you make. When you are with friends. You can make good choices about what you are going to do. Hang around those people that share those same values.

[5:45] You can make good choices about what you are going to do. And where you are going to go. With your Creator in mind. When you are tempted to go some sinful way. Then remember your Creator.

[5:58] Whenever you must make a decision about what to do. Remember now. At this very moment. Your Creator. As you make those important decisions of life.

[6:10] Remember your Creator. And what he has done for you. David in the Bible was ashamed. Over his sins of youth. If we are truly a believer. We will be ashamed too.

[6:22] Of those things that we have done wrong. Those memories of past sins. Can bring sorrow and shame. And regret. So it is all the more important to remember your Creator.

[6:33] While you are young. It will help you to avoid wounds that can leave scars. For the rest of your life. Life in this world is empty. Without God.

[6:44] When we make the wrong decisions in youth. It can lead to a whole lot of regret. Remember your Creator now. God fulfills our life.

[6:56] He has made us. And he wants us to know him. In your future you must live with the choices that you have made. So make the right choices early.

[7:08] In your life. Will your future be days of regret. Days of lost opportunities. Or days when you are glad that you followed Jesus.

[7:20] Pray that you might put your trust in him. For yourself. Find that meaning for life. That you can find at a young age. It is all the more precious.

[7:31] And all the better for you. And you will look back. Not with regret. But with gladness that you trusted Christ at a young age. Remember now thy Creator. In the days of thy youth.
