A series of teachings on The Last Days. The End-Times according to God's Word.
[0:00] But thank you guys for being here. And I know it's a little different. We got, it's more of a Bible study format. But I already feel the presence of God in this place.
[0:11] I mean, it is still our Sunday service. But we're going to slow down a little bit. More than we normally do. And we're going to study the Word of God. And the subject that we're going to be talking about over the next, probably eight Sundays leading into the new year, is the last days.
[0:32] How many of you agree that we're living in the last days? Even if you don't know what the Scripture says yet, or you have some little idea, you just kind of know this thing is not looking too good right now.
[0:43] There's some things going on in the world. And so it's a timely message. Amen. It's a timely Bible study. It's the end times according to the Word of God.
[0:54] And so it's a good time to know this. Amen. Amen. I'm excited that God has a plan for us. Amen. You should be excited that God has a plan for His people.
[1:06] Amen. And so let's begin. And I want to start with this introduction and go over some stuff, kind of set a foundation that we're going to build upon over the next several weeks.
[1:19] Okay. And so let's define what a prophecy is. First of all, I'm not a prophet. Okay. I don't operate. That's not one of the spiritual gifts that God gifted me. I'm not a prophet.
[1:32] Amen. If God wants to give me a word, you know, hopefully I'll be spiritually wise enough to hear it and know how to speak it. And so if He wants to use me in that regard, I'll be a vessel for Him to use.
[1:47] But that's not typically how He's ever used me in my years of serving Him and having His Spirit inside of me. You know, it's good to know what your spiritual giftings are.
[2:00] I would like to say that it's teaching. It's probably not even preaching like we hear many great preachers in our movement today.
[2:10] I would say I'm more of a teacher. So this is hopefully in my wheelhouse. Hopefully I do a good job for you guys and teach you something. But I'm definitely not a prophet, but I am a student of the Word of God.
[2:22] And one of the topics that has interested me the most over the course of my life is end-time prophecy. It's all found in the Bible.
[2:33] There's a lot of it. And prophecy has always intrigued me. And one thing I would say, and my wife can be a witness to this, is that I can't read very well.
[2:45] I can read. You know, I know how to spell. For the most part. But when I read stuff, it's hard for me to retain it in my mind. And there was a book that I wanted to read by a well-known preacher.
[3:01] And it was called The Wisdom and the Power of the Cross is the name of the book. And I desperately wanted to read that book. I had to take, this is no joke. I had to take a week off of work.
[3:13] I used a week of vacation to stay at home to read a book that was probably something my wife could read in a day. And it took me a week. And the only way I could retain the information is if I had my Word document open.
[3:28] And as I was reading it, highlighting things, I had to read things over and over again to get it to actually penetrate into my mind. And I had to take notes with it. And that's the only way I could get a lot of that information to retain in my mind.
[3:41] And there's probably only a handful of things I can remember about it even right now. But I could go back to my notes that I made in reference. And I've used it in messages that I've preached.
[3:53] I said all that to say something about the Bible, though, is I can retain it. And I can read it and understand it. And so it's kind of like my one book that I can read and understand pretty well.
[4:07] Even in the King James Version with the Old English, God has just blessed me. I consider it a blessing that I can read it and understand it. And it sticks with me.
[4:18] And so to me, that's a miracle because of my situation of how I struggle with reading. And so I thank God for that. Amen. And so just over the years, I've been able to find so many things in the Word of God.
[4:32] Amen. And now I'm putting them down together in paper for us all to learn and read and understand. Okay, so we're talking about prophecies. And like I said, I'm not a prophet, but I am a student of the Word of God.
[4:45] So the prophecies in the Bible, it was spoken by somebody else. I'm just going to shine a light on that for us. Okay. And so for the context of this study, we're going to define prophecy so we understand what prophecy is.
[4:59] It's a prediction that's found in the Bible. Okay. It's a prediction that's found in the Bible, a promise or a revelation of a future event that you would be able to verify.
[5:10] Okay. And so some elements that should be included in the prophecy is a prophecy describes something that will happen after the time the scripture is written. Otherwise, it would be a history lesson, right?
[5:24] But prophecy is something that hasn't happened yet, and it's foretold that it would happen. And it should have enough details that when you would be able to identify things, it shouldn't be vague, so you would be able to identify when it happened.
[5:39] Not something vague that could be applied to just almost anything, but it has to be something with enough identifying details that you would be able to say, yes, that was what was prophesied, and that came to pass.
[5:52] Okay. The other thing is that it has to be within the pages of this Holy Bible. Amen. It has to be within the Word of God. It can't be something that I say.
[6:03] It can't be something that somebody else says. It can't be Nostradamus or whatever his name is or all these other. It can't be some ancient philosopher's predictions or words or the Maya temples or, you know, prediction of the end of time or whatever.
[6:19] It has to be the Word of God. Amen. The Word of God is infallible. It's the truth. Amen. This Word of God is not going to fail. It's not going to fail. Everything else can and probably will.
[6:31] So we only look to the Word of God for prophecy. Amen. And it has to have a clear end point that can be verified to be able to say, yes, it has happened or the end point is clearly defined enough that we can say that hasn't happened yet.
[6:47] Okay. So there's, yes, it has happened. That would be a fulfilled prophecy or that hasn't happened yet. So this is something that's still pending, unfulfilled prophecy that we can expect.
[7:00] And if it's from the Word of God and it says it's going to happen, I can guarantee you it's going to happen. Amen. Okay. And then there's, there's types of prophecies. And for the, for the context of what we're doing over the next several weeks, we are focusing on end time prophecies and those are called eschatological prophecies.
[7:20] The eschatology is the study of the end times. And so these prophecies are prophecies of when Jesus will return, what to expect on the horizon at the, at these, in these last days that we're living in.
[7:33] What the Bible says that we should expect and be prepared for and understand. Okay. The rapture of the saints. The, the, the resurrection, the new earth and the new heavens.
[7:47] You know, all these things that are, that are coming in the end. Those are eschatological prophecies. And then there's also a messianic prophecies which has to do with the foretelling of the birth of Jesus, of the Messiah.
[8:01] Okay. Obviously, all those have been fulfilled already. But, they're intertwined. A lot of them are intertwined. And then there's also prophecies that have to do with, specifically, related to Israel, to Jerusalem, to other nations and cities.
[8:20] And then there's many other types of prophecies that have a lot of different contexts and, and purposes. But, as mentioned, the purpose that we're going to be doing during this study is we're looking at the end time.
[8:34] We're looking at the last days. Okay. Some statistics about prophecies is that they've counted the prophecies and it's not an exact science.
[8:46] People argue what is a prophecy, what isn't a prophecy. and the vast majority of religions out there are what we would, we as Oneness Pentecostals would consider not in full truth.
[9:03] and so there's argument and debate on their interpretation versus our interpretation or understanding of, of scripture. So it's kind of hard to pinpoint an exact number.
[9:13] But it's, it's pretty widely accepted that there's, there's probably around 2,000 to 3,000 somewhere in their range of prophecies in, in the Bible.
[9:25] Okay. There could be more. Only time will tell if it was a prophecy or not. But the majority of scholars agree that there's probably about between 2,000 and, and 3,000 somewhere in there.
[9:42] Okay. And about approximately 2,000 about 80% of that has been fulfilled with, with no errors according to sources like Reasons to Believe and Hugh Ross and there's a bunch of different organizations out there that, that their speciality is prophecy.
[9:59] prophecy. Then at least half of those predictions, they say, have been precisely fulfilled. Even down to the day. Even down to the day and we'll look at one of those today.
[10:11] The remaining 500 or so that, are, they're, they're future oriented, they're end time prophecies and those, those are the things that we'll be learning about over the next several weeks.
[10:26] This is one of the things that struck me. the probability statistics show that if just eight Messianic prophecies were fulfilled. Remember, a Messianic prophecy is a prophecy that is about the forecoming of Jesus.
[10:41] So you read a lot of those in Isaiah and some of the other prophets in the Old Testament when they're foreseeing the Messiah come. Okay, so eight Messianic, just eight, if only eight of them and there's, there's literally hundreds of them, there's over 300 of them, but if just eight of them were fulfilled that predicted Jesus' birth, it would take a one in 100 quadrillion chance to have happened accidentally.
[11:08] So there's intentionality, obviously, God has a plan and it's being unfolded and before the world's eyes, before history's eyes, and it's very much often foretold in the scripture.
[11:23] And so, and there's over 300 of those prophecies about Jesus, his birth, his death, his resurrection, and so the odds are beyond anyone's comprehension and only possible by God himself.
[11:37] Okay, the estimates range, but most agree that about 25 or a quarter to one third of this Bible is prophetic. 25 to 33% of this Bible is prophetic.
[11:53] You have a whole section in the Old Testament of the prophets. Okay, so the, it would be foolish of us to ignore a quarter or one third of the Bible and just push that to the side.
[12:06] Just let me focus on a certain aspect of the Bible, a certain aspect of God's word. It would be foolish of us not to try to make ourselves understand or become in the knowledge of one, almost one third of God's word.
[12:21] The prophecies that have been fulfilled, the crazy incomprehensible statistics of messianic prophecies that were fulfilled in stunning accuracy is the greatest testimony to the Bible's authenticity.
[12:37] Think about it. There's scriptures, there's prophecies that were written thousands of years ago that have come to fruition hundreds of years before they, they were prophesied hundreds of years before they came to fruition and that is the greatest testimony to the Bible's authenticity is prophecy and there's stunning accuracy in a lot of the prophecies.
[13:03] It's not just vague, it's to the T. Amen. Revelation 19.10 says, the testimony of Jesus so the testimony of Jesus, the witness of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy and what did the Apostle Paul tell Timothy?
[13:21] all scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
[13:36] 2 Timothy 3.16 and 17 says, all scripture that includes the one third of the Bible that is prophetic. Amen.
[13:47] But how much time do we spend in that area? shame on us as preachers that don't understand this word of God about prophecy.
[14:01] Study to show thyself approved unto God. You see, that's I think a lot of reason why we don't preach this as much as we should or what it's worthy of being preached is because we don't take the time to study and understand it.
[14:15] It's work. It's work to figure out. You can't just go to the book of Revelation and read it and have an understanding of what's going on because a lot of that stuff is pulling on strings from Daniel and Ezekiel and a bunch of other Old Testament prophets and Jesus himself and the Apostle Paul and Peter and there's all kinds of stuff going on.
[14:35] And so you have to have a full understanding of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation to really understand fully all these prophetic things. And so that takes a lot of hard work.
[14:45] It takes a lot of time. It takes effort of studying, showing yourself approved. The Bible says, study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
[15:00] So we need to diligently study scriptures to be considered approved by God. Study prophecy. Study prophecy. So there's some principles that we need to follow when we read and study prophecy in the scripture.
[15:16] And so let's look at these. We need, it's always good to do what we did when we first started is to pray that God will reveal that scripture to us because the Bible says that that scripture is spirit.
[15:32] The word of God is spirit and truth. And so one, obviously you have to have the Holy Ghost to really fully understand to get the fullness out of it.
[15:43] Having the Holy Ghost is vital because it gives us the spiritual ears to hear and the spiritual eyes to see the spiritual word.
[15:55] And so we need, it's spiritual. Okay? And even if you have the Holy Ghost we need to pray that God will open our eyes and open our ears to this word and give us understanding and wisdom.
[16:07] Those are gifts of the Spirit. The gift of knowledge, that's the gift of the Spirit. The gift of wisdom, that is the gift of the Spirit. And so we pray, God give us those gifts that we can understand your word.
[16:20] Next, we want to read it literally. Okay? Read it literally. So word for word as it says and expect it to be literal at first.
[16:33] Okay? But then figure out what method is being used if it's not literal. And that could be an allegory. It could be a typology, a type in shadow.
[16:43] It could be a symbol. Okay? God uses in his word these types of things to help. I mean, it's to help some understand and it's to hide it from others.
[16:58] Jesus said that it's not for everyone. So it's actually hidden from some and revealed to others. And he does that through types and shadows, through allegories, and through symbols.
[17:12] Okay? An allegory is basically, you could say it's a story with a narrative and with characters that may not be historical, but it illustrates. It's like a story being told to illustrate a principle.
[17:26] Okay? A type is you can look at an example like in the Old Testament. It's like in Old Testament prophecies often use historical types to predict Jesus Christ or the end time events.
[17:41] An example would be like Jonah was three days in the belly of a great fish that God prepared, right? And then Jesus was in the tomb for three days.
[17:52] So there's types and typologies that are related and that's mentioned in Scripture, that exact one. Okay? So that would be an example of a type or shadow. You see a type or shadow, a type in the, a figure in the Old Testament and it's a shadow of Jesus in the New Testament.
[18:12] Okay? And then there's symbols and these are, these would be absolute concrete images. It could be numbers, colors, even animals or specific objects, whatever, that represent a spiritual reality or something that's going to come about or something that's already at work spiritually.
[18:35] Symbols are not just the things themselves but point to the thing. So when you see the four horsemen, which we'll get into in a future study, the four horsemen, there's a rider on a white horse, a rider on a red horse, a rider on a black horse and a rider on a green horse.
[18:55] Those aren't literal. It's symbolic. But we'll learn about that. That's just an example of symbols. Okay? There's symbols in all that.
[19:06] And then always interpret scripture with scripture. Don't use prophet Google because this word of God is debated more than anything there is else in the world to debate.
[19:21] And people pick it apart, tear it apart, try to disprove it and all that. And you never know where you'll end up if you go online. Okay? So when you read something and you don't understand it, you read about the four horsemen.
[19:35] You can't just look in Revelation and just read about the four horsemen and have an understanding of it. But when you go back to Daniel and you go to Ezekiel and you see the other, like I said referenced earlier, and you see where it's talking about the four winds or four spirits.
[19:48] Similar terminologies and descriptions and those other settings. You get those three things combined, those three areas of scripture combined, and it gives you a good understanding about what that actually is.
[20:01] Okay? So you always interpret scripture with other scripture. And that's how you protect yourself from getting false teaching or false doctrine. And then all prophecy ultimately is always pointing to Jesus Christ and or his kingdom.
[20:16] that's what it's all about. From the Old Testament to the New Testament, from the first page to the last page, our Bible is all about Jesus. Amen.
[20:26] And it's all pointing to his rule, his government, his kingdom that will be set up in the end times. Amen. In your workbook that I gave you here, there's critical events, terminologies and definitions that I spent several hours this weekend getting out of here and onto here, out of my head and onto the word document that I was typing.
[20:57] And so it's a table, basically, it has a name. On the left-hand side, it will give you the name of what the event, terminology, or definition is.
[21:07] I'm sorry. And then on the right-hand side, that part of the table is the definition. So I don't expect you to go through and read all these right now or memorize these or whatnot, but I also included scriptures.
[21:21] And it's three pages long. There's a total of 35 of them. And as we go through the next several weeks, you can reference back to this and use it as a tool to help better understand.
[21:35] And we'll reference back to that. And in the Bible study, the workbook that I gave you, the pages that I gave you, in red and underlined, if you see where it's red and underlined, that is me pointing back to, I have a definition for that in that table.
[21:58] Okay, so you'll see that we're about to get started in lesson one here. This is just an introduction. We're about to get started in lesson one. And you'll see, like, one of the first things is Daniel's 70 weeks.
[22:11] And you're like, what is that? Exactly. So that you could find that in the table that I created for us. All right. Any questions so far?
[22:22] All right. let's get started in lesson one.
[22:33] One more time, I just want to pray and ask God to help us. Lord Jesus, I thank you for your word. I thank you for what you're doing. I thank you, God, for putting it in my heart to bring this to your people in this time.
[22:47] God, the people that I'm working with, Lord, people that called for us to work together. God, I pray, Lord, that you help us understand your scripture. Give us wisdom to understand. Help us understand it with our spiritual eyes and ears.
[23:00] In Jesus' name I pray. Amen. Amen. So the last days and this first lesson I'm calling the last generation. And the first thing we got to understand is that Israel is God's timepiece.
[23:15] Israel is central to everything God's doing on his calendar. Everything on God's calendar, you can look at Israel.
[23:29] Israel's involved in all of it. If you want to know what time it is on God's prophetic clock, just take a look at what's going on in Israel.
[23:40] And one of the most profound prophecies concerning Israel is that is Daniel's 70 weeks prophecy. Okay. And it's one of the ones that's most historically easy to prove.
[23:55] And it's pretty amazing when we look at it. So if you have your Bibles, you can turn with us or it's right here on your pages, on your worksheet for your convenience.
[24:07] This is King James version. Daniel 9, 24 through 27. Okay. The first verse, verse 24, Daniel, is found in the prophets in the Old Testament.
[24:19] Daniel was a prophet and used mightily by God. And a lot of end time prophecies is found in the book of Daniel. We're going to look at Daniel chapter 9, verse 24. Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city.
[24:36] Okay. That's Israel and Jerusalem. to finish the transgression and to make an end of sins and to make reconciliation for iniquity and to bring in everlasting righteousness and to seal up the vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy.
[24:59] Okay. So if you have that sheet in front of you, there's a box there. And I want you to put in there something along the lines of Leviticus.
[25:10] Okay. Make a note. Leviticus and Sabbaths. Okay. That's for you to study later. Leviticus and Sabbaths. Because in the book of Leviticus is where this is, where we learn this from.
[25:24] Okay. The Sabbaths or sevenths. Okay. 70. Another note to write is 70 weeks of years is 490 years. Okay. We're talking in weeks of years.
[25:37] So when he says 70 weeks are determined upon thy people, it's 70 weeks of years. Okay. Like the Sabbath day was for rest.
[25:50] You know how the Israelites were with the Sabbath and the law of Moses and all this in the Levitical, the priests, the Levites enforced all this. The Sabbath day was a day of rest.
[26:02] The seventh year, the land was a year of rest for the land. You couldn't, there's certain things you could and couldn't do. And seven sets of seven years, that's 49 years.
[26:15] That's the Jubilee. Okay. So everything was based around Sabbaths. Okay. So when you see in scripture, 70 weeks are determined, it's talking about 70 weeks of years.
[26:26] So seven times 70 is 490. Okay. So we're talking about a period of 490 years. Another note to write in that box is to get, what was the reason for it?
[26:38] Okay. 70 weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city to finish the transgressions. To finish the transgressions, to make an end of sins. Okay. It was to get Israel to repent.
[26:50] That's what it's for. These 70 weeks that Daniel's about ready to prophesy what's going to happen to Israel over the over a course of 490 years. And he's, and it's because God is trying to get them to repent.
[27:05] Because if you know anything about Israel, when you read through the Old Testament, they were with God and then they rejected God. They were with God and they rejected God. And they were always chasing false idols.
[27:16] They always had their, their, their peripheral vision, looking at nations to the left and right and their idols and idol worshiping and incorporating that into their lives. And they would always stray from God and God would, would send them prophets and try to get them to repent.
[27:31] And this is back and forth with God. And, and, and Genesis, God said that my spirit will not always strive with men. God is long suffering.
[27:41] Okay. He will put up with our sins for so long. He will put up with our knuckleheadness for so long. He'll put up with our being unrepentant for just so long until God's going to one day quit dealing with us like that.
[27:56] And his patience is going to run out. But he, if he's long suffering more than anybody, he'll put up with a lot more than most people would with you. Okay. And, but there's going to come a time when this is not going to be no more that he's willing to do this in judgment because God is just and that includes judgment is going to come.
[28:15] And if you haven't repented, there's going to be some issues here, just like it is for Israel. So these 490 years is for, to get Israel to repent, but also it says to bring in everlasting righteousness and to seal up the vision and prophecy.
[28:35] That means to seal it up, to complete the package, tie a nice bow on it. It's complete. And to anoint the most holy. which we know is Jesus. He's the King of King, the Lord of Lords.
[28:47] That's who's coming back. So this is, these 490 years is, is to, to make an end of their transgressions, to bring it to a close, to get Israel to repent.
[29:00] It's going to bring Israel to their knees. And it's going to usher in the millennial kingdom when Jesus returns for us.
[29:10] Amen. Verse 25. Know therefore and understand that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem until the Messiah, the Prince shall be seven weeks.
[29:23] And three score and two weeks, the street shall be built again and the wall, even the, in troublous, turbulous times, troublous times. Okay. So what does that mean?
[29:34] Let's break it down. Know therefore and understand that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah, the Prince shall be seven weeks and three score and two weeks, seven weeks and three score and two weeks.
[29:51] Seven is seven. Three score and two is 62. So 69 weeks, seven and 62 is, is 69 weeks.
[30:02] Okay. So right in there in your notes, prophecy, 69 weeks of years, 483 years. Okay. That's the box below verse 25.
[30:17] Why is that? It's because what does it mean? What is, what does God speaking through Daniel mean when he says, know therefore and understand that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem until the Messiah, the Prince shall be 69 weeks or 483 years.
[30:35] Because if you understand the, the context of the book of Daniel, Daniel is a prisoner in a sense. Is the Israelites are captive to the Babylonians. The Babylonians destroyed, conquered Israel, destroyed the temple.
[30:51] It was, there was no temple. Solomon's temple, David's son that built King David's son that built the first temple. Um, that temple was destroyed by the Babylonians.
[31:02] So there's no Israel. There's no temple. It's in ruins. It's in rubble. It's all rubble. And the prophecy Daniel saying is when you, when there is someone in Israel gets the commandment to go and rebuild the temple and rebuild that Holy city from that point that they get that commandment to do that until Jesus comes is going to be 69 weeks.
[31:24] It's going to be 483 years. Okay. You guys following so far? So that first temple and that Holy city of Jerusalem is destroyed at that time.
[31:36] The prophecy says 69 weeks from the time you get the orders to rebuild, Jesus is going to come. That's what that's saying. Verse 26. And after three score and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off.
[31:51] Okay. You don't have to be a Bible scholar to understand that. What do you guys think that means? When Messiah will be cut off. It says Messiah will be cut off, but not for himself. What does that sound like to you?
[32:04] Anybody? Jesus, what's going to happen to Jesus? He's going to be cut off, but not for himself. He's going to be killed. He's going to be crucified.
[32:15] Okay. And after three score and two weeks. So this is after the seven and three score and two weeks, 69 weeks, shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself. And the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary.
[32:30] And the end thereof shall be with a flood and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. Okay. So after that period of time, the 483 years, Messiah will be cut off.
[32:41] Jesus will be, we know it. We're looking back at it now. So we understand, we can interpret that and say that was the Messiah came, Jesus, and he was cut off, but not for himself. He died for everyone's sins.
[32:53] Right. And the people of the prince. Okay. So that's a key part that we're going to need to know going forward. The people of the prince that shall come. Who was it that controlled Israel when Jesus was on earth?
[33:08] What government? Rome. That's the people of the prince that shall come and what does it say? That shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. Did they do that?
[33:20] Yeah. Jesus was crucified in 33 AD. The birth of the church, the upper room, Acts 2, 30, Acts chapter 2, the church is going.
[33:33] And in 70 AD, Rome destroyed Jerusalem and didn't wipe it completely off the map, but destroyed the temple, completely obliterated the temple.
[33:47] Not one stone was left upon another and they hauled off all those Israelites as slaves back to Rome. Okay. So that happened. So in the box for verse 26, it's a prophecy that Jesus will be killed or crucified.
[34:06] They didn't say the type of killing or murder, but he said he'd be cut off but not for himself and that was, we know, through the crucifixion. And then the Romans will, the next note to make, the Romans will destroy the temple.
[34:22] We know it was the Romans because we can look back and see. So you can see how we can look at scripture and say yes, that was fulfilled, that prophecy was fulfilled.
[34:33] And the next note is, and the temple will remain destroyed until this, until later on, so, or until the end of, remember we're talking about 70 weeks are determined upon Israel, right?
[34:45] And it's talking about until the end of the war, desolations are determined. Okay? So, that means that there's not going to be a temple in Jerusalem until the end time. Okay?
[34:56] Until that last week because it's 70 weeks, but we're only at 69 weeks. Only 69 weeks have been fulfilled to this point. Are you following? Verse 27, and she shall, I'm sorry, and he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week.
[35:13] So, so, verse 26, you got to remember that chapters and verses were added much later after the scripture were written. When Daniel was writing it, he didn't put chapter 9, verse 26, right?
[35:29] 26 and 27 pretty much go together. and he's still talking about the prince of the people that shall come. So, the people that shall come were the Romans. Okay? Now, it's talking about the prince of the people that shall come.
[35:42] The prince of the people that shall come and he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week. So, what are we talking about? What's one week? Seven years, right?
[35:53] And we're still missing one week because we only had 69 weeks so far of 483 years. and actually, that's provable by history because if you can, the Babylonians did destroy Israel and the temple and it did get rebuilt and you can go back and look at the timeline and it's exactly 483 years.
[36:15] And to the point that Jesus was crucified, you can even look in the Bible, it tells you, it was like, it uses the Jewish calendar and, which is a lunar calendar and it tells you the day that Jesus was crucified and you can actually look and it's to the day, like literally to the day for 483 years.
[36:34] It's pretty amazing. It's unbelievable. It's jaw-dropping. Okay? That it, history itself proves exactly what Daniel said. And Daniel prophesied that 500 years before Jesus was crucified.
[36:49] That'd be like me prophesying something that, that's gonna happen 500 years from now and I'm long gone and it's, and it actually comes to fruition exactly like I said it, to the day.
[37:00] That's pretty jaw-dropping and we have the perspective where we are to look at the Word of God and see that and compare it to history and it did happen. Okay? We're on what verse?
[37:12] 27? And he shall confirm, who are we talking about? The prince of the people that shall come. So we're talking about a future time. We're talking about the 70th week. Okay?
[37:23] We're talking about the 70th week and this is a future time. This hasn't even happened yet. We're, we're waiting for this 70th week to happen still. And he, the prince of the people that shall come, so it's gonna be a prince of Rome, shall confirm the covenant with many for one week and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease.
[37:46] Can Israel conduct sacrifices and oblations right now in their temple? No, because there is no temple on the temple mount right now. Okay? So this is, this is a future prophecy that's gonna take place.
[37:59] The prince of, a prince of Rome, so some leader of Rome, that's your first note, a Roman leader will make a one week, seven year agreement. Okay? So it's good.
[38:10] And he shall confirm a covenant, it means strengthen an agreement with many for one week. so look for, who would you say is the prince of Rome today? I'm getting, I'm getting ahead of myself on other lessons, but if you think of Rome and a prince of Rome, who would you think of the first big figure that comes to mind?
[38:31] Trevin said it, the Pope. Could be. Okay? And we'll look at, we'll look at more scriptures later on in future lessons. Okay? He shall cause the sacrifice and oblations to cease.
[38:43] So he's going to be part of, when there is a third temple to be built, he's going to be part of getting it to stop. Okay? And for the overspreading of abominations, he shall make it desolate even until the consummation and the determined shall be poured out upon the desolate.
[39:01] So, in that 70th week, in that last seven years that still is yet to come, a Roman leader, this is for your notes, a Roman leader will make a one-week agreement and in there, in that final week, he's going to cause the temple to stop being used.
[39:21] Okay? Which would be the third temple. Solomon's temple was the first temple. It was destroyed, rebuilt by Nehemiah, which was the commandment of Nehemiah to go rebuild, was the beginning of Daniel's prophecy of those first 69 weeks.
[39:38] And then, to the time Jesus came, and then in 70 AD, that temple that was rebuilt by Nehemiah, which was the second temple, was destroyed. Now there is no temple. And this is a future prophetic scripture that's telling us that there will be sacrifices and oblations happening in Israel again.
[39:58] Meaning that they will need a third temple to be able to do that. And it's going to happen during the last seven years of our time. Okay? That last week. Okay, but in the middle of the week, okay, notice that.
[40:14] In the midst of the week, I mean, that's New King James Version for the middle. In the middle of the week, he shall cause the sacrifice and oblations to cease. Okay? So your next note is in the middle of the seven years.
[40:28] So at the three and a half year mark, it's going to be three and a half years into that seven year agreement, whatever that is, with many nations that the prince of Rome is going to cause the sacrifice and oblations to stop.
[40:46] So that last three and a half years for Israel is going to be where it's all going to finish in those last three and a half years after that. All the transgressions, the whole purpose, like Daniel said, the 70 weeks are determined upon thy people because of their transgressions.
[41:03] Finishing the transgressions. Okay? So there's this, you can read through it later, there's the direct connection between Leviticus 25 and Daniel 9 that shows us the principle behind the judgment and the use of the week of years that Israelites use Sabbath, like I said.
[41:20] So here's me giving you scriptures and explaining why that 70 weeks is 70 years and it's proven in scripture already because exactly 483 years, those 69 weeks, it was fulfilled.
[41:33] Okay? The final one week, the final seven years is still that future, it's still in the future and it revolves around Israel resolving their sin and the rebellion issues with God.
[41:47] Okay? The last week of Daniel's 70 weeks prophecy is going to be the worst seven years in the history of Israel. It's going to seem like it's going good, there's going to be some sort of agreement, they're going to build a temple, they're going to get their temple back, they're going to be making sacrifices and oblations again just like they used to do in the ancient times, they're going to be happy about that.
[42:07] But then it's going to, in the middle of that week, that agreement's going to get broken somehow, something's going to go really wrong, and that's when the great tribulation begins, in those last three and a half years, 42 months, and it's going to be the worst seven years and the worst three and a half years, those last three and a half years are going to be the worst years Israel's ever faced.
[42:29] It doesn't pay to reject God and to go without repenting. The Messiah came right when Daniel foretold and that city of Jerusalem and the temple was destroyed just like he said it was going to be and it was left desolate and reserved for the end time completion of their transgressions against God.
[42:48] It has been desolate since. So when will that 70th week, that last seven years come to fruition? Okay. If you turn your workbook to the side, I created a timeline for you.
[43:04] Daniel's 70th week. Okay. I'll give you a second to look at it. We got 538 B.C.
[43:15] when Daniel made this prophecy. Daniel chapter 9 happened in 538. And 444 is when Nehemiah was given directions to go and rebuild the temple and reestablish Jerusalem.
[43:31] And then exactly 483 years to the day later, Jesus, the Messiah, enters Jerusalem. And you can read about it in Matthew chapter 21 verses 1 through 11.
[43:43] He enters Jerusalem and that was the last time he was there in the city like that and he was crucified. Okay. Messiah was cut off just like the prophecy said.
[43:53] Exactly. 483 years. And so we, and then what happened next? I left it for you to fill in. It's 70 A.D. And it's the second temple destroyed and Israel scattered.
[44:11] In 70 A.D. Israel's, or I'm sorry, the temple, the second temple is destroyed and all the people of Israel are taken captive and there was no more Israel.
[44:24] The nation of Israel was gone in 70 A.D. Okay. And the next prophetic thing to happen is in 1948 A.D.
[44:38] 1948 at the end of World War II, guess what happened? Israel became a nation again. from 70 A.D.
[44:54] to 1948 A.D. there was no Israel and there's still no temple. Right now, Israel has their country back, their nation back, but they don't have a temple yet.
[45:08] And in that space I gave you during the church age, which is from 33 A.D. to this Daniel 70th week that we have yet to see, no Israel until 1948 and still no temple.
[45:28] And then some future date that we don't know. That last week, the 70th week, the last seven years, Daniel's 70th week, you're going to see a confirmation of a covenant from the prince of Rome with many nations.
[45:42] that's going to start the seven years. Okay? For one week, it says, for seven years. And in the midst of that week, he's going to cause the sacrifice and oblation to cease and the temple is going to be left desolate.
[45:56] The temple is going to get destroyed again. The third temple, the one that just built, is only going to last a little bit and it's going to be destroyed again. And those last three and a half years is what is called the great tribulation.
[46:12] And there's not going to be anything like it ever seen on the earth. Even when you look back at Egypt and all the plagues that came to Egypt when Moses, God used Moses to get his people out of there.
[46:25] Okay? Moving on. We're almost there, guys. The topic is the last days of the last generation.
[46:36] Okay? And so I want to direct your attention to the parable of the fig tree. Matthew chapter 24 verse 1 through 3. And Jesus went out and departed from the temple.
[46:54] Which temple would that be? Come on, class. The second temple. The second temple, right? Good job, Trevin. And Jesus went out and departed from this temple and his disciples came to him for to show him the buildings of the temple.
[47:10] They're like, it's amazing. We have our temple. You know? Okay? So in the notes here I want you to write something along the lines that Jesus is at Jerusalem for the last time before he is cut off by crucifixion.
[47:27] So this is at the end of the 69 weeks, the end of the 483 years Jesus is about to be cut off. And this is the last time this scripture when it's, when we're reading this, that time that Jesus was there at the temple on the temple mount with his disciples was the last time he'd be there before he was crucified.
[47:49] Verse 2, I'm sorry, I got another note for you. And Jesus and his disciples are on the temple mount looking at the second temple. So that's the second temple. They're looking at it and it's his last time.
[48:03] Okay, verse 2, And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? So what were they looking at? The second temple, the buildings. It says the buildings of the temple. See ye not all these things?
[48:14] Verily I say unto you, there shall not be one, there shall not be left here one stone upon another that shall not be thrown down. So right then and there, Jesus prophesied that that temple was going to be destroyed and there wouldn't be one stone left upon another.
[48:31] Okay, that's your note. Jesus prophesied the temple would be destroyed. The second temple would be destroyed. Verse 3, And as he sat upon the Mount of Olives, Okay, so now this is about a 10 minute walk from the temple mount.
[48:46] And as he sat upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? And what shall be the sign of thy coming and of the end of the world?
[49:02] Okay, the disciples, this is your note, so the disciples want to know when will the world end? When are the end times coming? And your next note is Jesus tells them privately.
[49:13] Okay, okay. And from Matthew chapter 24 verse 4 through 31. Matthew 24, 4 through 31.
[49:29] That Jesus starts to tell, prophesy to them all the things that's going to come at the end. I'm going to read it. Matthew chapter 24.
[49:43] Beginning in verse 4. And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
[49:54] For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ, and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that ye not be troubled, for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
[50:07] For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there shall be famines and pestilences and earthquakes and diverse places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.
[50:19] Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted and shall kill you, and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. And then shall many be offended and shall betray one another and shall hate one another.
[50:32] If this doesn't sound like what we're living in right now, I don't know what does. And many false prophets shall rise and deceive many, and because iniquity shall abound, and the love of many shall wax cold.
[50:44] But he that shall endure until the end, the same shall be saved. Amen. We got to endure until the end. And the gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations, and then shall the end come.
[51:00] When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation spoken by Daniel the prophet standing in the holy place in the holy place, inside the brackets it says, whoso readeth let him understand.
[51:12] We need to understand what that means, and we're going to learn about that next time. Then let them which be in Judea flee into the mountains. So when that happens, when ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation spoken of Daniel the prophet standing in the holy place, remember the prince of Rome is going to cause the sacrifice and oblations to cease in the middle of the week.
[51:38] So this is a shout out to Daniel. Jesus is doing a shout out to Daniel's prophecy here saying that when you see that happen, when you see the temple get the third temple because remember he started out saying this temple is going to be destroyed.
[51:53] Now he's talking about some end time thing where someone's going to be standing in the temple in the holy place causing an abomination of desolation. Okay? Whatever that would mean but you can use your imagination.
[52:06] Verse 16, then let them which are in Judea flee because this is, now we're talking, he's talking about those last three and a half years of Daniel's seventh week. Then let them which will be in Judea flee the mountains.
[52:16] Let him which is on the housetop not come down and take anything out of his house. Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes and woe unto them that are with child and to them that give suck in those days.
[52:28] But pray ye therefore that your flight not be in the winter neither on the Sabbath day for then shall be great tribulation such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time nor ever shall be.
[52:43] And except those days should be shortened there should be no flesh be saved but for the elect's sake. Those are people with the Holy Ghost and I will show you that next time as well.
[52:54] Take those days those days shall be shortened. It's for the elect's sake. Then if any man shall say unto you lo here is Christ or there believe it not. AI is going to get crazy.
[53:08] They're going to be they show you a video and say Jesus returned and are you going to believe it? For there shall arise false Christ and false prophets and shall show great signs and wonders and so much that if it were possible they shall deceive the very elect.
[53:23] If you don't know what these prophecies say you don't know what the word of God says you're going to be deceived. But if you know what it says and you know it's true and you have a good understanding of it it doesn't matter what the AI video that looks you can't tell the difference if it's real or not that's going to be in the next few years you're going to know that doesn't match what I know the word of God says and I don't believe what I'm seeing.
[53:43] Amen. If it were possible they shall be deceived the very elect. Behold I have told you before therefore if they shall say unto you behold he is in the desert go not forth behold he is in the secret chambers believe it not.
[53:57] Why would they be trying to get us to come out of hiding? The Bible says in those last three and a half years you need to go into hiding. That's basically what he's saying because it's going to be worse than you've ever experienced.
[54:08] The world has never experienced how bad it's going to be done. I don't care what's ever happened in the World War II you think of the worst of the worst whatever's. The world's never going to experience anything like what's going to happen in those last three and a half years.
[54:20] Why would they be trying to trick us to come out of hiding? Why do you think? It's because we're we're going to be targeted okay and we'll learn about that more.
[54:32] For as the lightning cometh out of the east and shineth even unto the west so shall also the coming of the son of man be for whosoever the carcass wheresoever the carcass is there will the eagles be gathered together immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened and the moon shall not give her light and the stars shall fall from heaven and the powers of the heaven shall be shaken and then shall appear the sign of the son of man in heaven so this is after the tribulation is when Jesus comes back after at the end of the seven years at the end of the last three and a half years after the middle of that week okay and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn and they shall see the son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory and he shall send his angels with the great sound of a trumpet and they shall gather together his elect those are people with the holy ghost from every four winds from one end of heaven to the other okay and this is this is where
[55:34] I want us to pick up now Jesus says now learn a parable of the fig tree I'm closing with this okay learn the parable of the fig tree when his branches yet tender and put forth leaves you know that summer is nigh when you when his branches yet tender when the fig tree his branches tender and put forth leaves you know it's summertime you know the season okay the first note is the fig tree is Israel and we give you three scripture references real quick write it down Hosea 9 10 Hosea 9 10 that's H not a J Hosea H-O-S-E-A Hosea 9 10 Joel 1 6 through 7 Joel 1 6 through 7 and Jeremiah 24 1 through 10 Jeremiah 24 1 through 10 those three scripture texts will prove to you what I'm saying that the fig tree is Israel all through the Old Testament the Israel was always referenced as a fig tree okay so and the
[56:43] Israelites the figs themselves okay so this parable Jesus is speaking to the disciples that asked them tell us to end what is it going to be like when is the world going to end he said now learn a parable of the fig tree so this is what is this this is symbolic symbols right an allegory when its branches yet tender and put forth leaves you know that summer is nigh when you see the buds coming out on the fig tree you know the season you're in right it's not winter it's not fall okay so you know what season you're in okay so that's your next note the season is based on Israel when is the world going to end the season is based on Israel verse 33 so likewise ye when ye shall see all these things know that it is near even at the doors this whole thing we're talking about the end time when you see the fig tree putting on its new leaves you know that that it's the season of the end time and when you see these things know that the end is near even at the doors okay so when
[57:53] Israel becomes a nation again because remember from 70 AD to 1948 there was no Israel there was no Israel for almost 2000 years crazy but when you see Israel the fig tree putting forth its branches and its leaves when it's tender when it's young when you see these things know that the end is near even at the doors okay so your note is when Israel becomes a nation again the end time season starts that's that summer season that end time season 34 verily I say unto you this generation shall not pass to all these things be fulfilled what generation the people alive to see Israel's rebirth will be alive to see the end there will be people that were alive in 1948 that will still be alive when the end time comes and
[58:57] I don't know that was a while ago how many years ago I should have had it figured out by now like 70 77 years ago okay so all those if you were born on the day that Israel came in the same year you're 77 years old right now okay and the Bible says Jesus out of his mouth says I send you this generation shall not the generation that sees the fig tree put forth its leaves!
[59:25] again when you see the birth of the nation of Israel again when it's still tender with its leaves you know what season is it's going to be the end time season you know that Daniel's 70th week is going to take place soon and it's just at the it says know these things that it's near even at the doors Jesus said okay verily I said this generation shall not pass until all these things are fulfilled what things everything he said including Daniel's 70th week and then he finishes it off verse 35 heaven and earth shall pass away but my words shall not pass away okay here's a note for you Jesus' word is true his words will pass away I mean sorry heaven and earth will pass away but his words are not going to pass away and guess what in that one sentence he gave us another prophecy he said heaven and earth shall pass away but his words are not going to okay so there's your next note
[60:27] Jesus tells us that some point heaven and earth is going to pass away and if you look in your table of definitions there is a new heaven and a new earth amen and I can't wait for that day okay and stand with me the the regathering of Israel is what marks the last generation okay it's it's when Israel came when all the Jews that have been scattered since 70 AD came back from all the different countries they've been hiding in and living in for for all these 1900 years or whatever I mean so many years they've finally got their nation back at the end of World War II in 1948 okay and it's when that regathering of Israel began the minute started to tick okay the modern state of Israel is the clearest evidence that we are living in the last days when the Jews went back to their land in 1948 the minute hand on
[61:32] God's watch started moving there will be people alive when all the end time prophecies of the Bible are fulfilled that we're alive to see that the rebirth of the nation the return of Jerusalem to Jewish control and the ongoing events surrounding that tiny strip of land are the clearest visible markers that we are in the final chapter of this age and we're at the end folks as Jesus said in Luke 21 and 28 when those things begin to come to pass then look up and lift up your head towards heaven for your redemption draweth nigh amen let's do that right now Lord Jesus
