Hallelujah! And thank you for tuning into this message by David Entry at Carish Church. As we journey in this season of great awakening,! May God pour fresh life into you through His Word!
The Lord are right, rejoicing the heart. The commandments of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever.
The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold.
Sweeter also than the honey and the honeycomb. Moreover, by them is thy servant warned. And in keeping of them there is a great reward.
Who can understand his errors? Cleanse me from secret faults. Here ends the reading of God's Word. And the second text is going to be from the book of Hebrews, chapter 4, verse 12.

Amen. Father, we thank you for giving us the opportunity to come to your word. We pray for understanding and illumination. Holy Spirit, you are the Magister Veritatis, the Master of Truth and the Teacher of Truth.
Navigate us through your word in ways we can understand that as your word comes, let your glory burst forth. I bring my thoughts, my words, under the power of your influence.
Let my speaking be governed by your Spirit. Let my thoughts be influenced by revelation in your word.
And let your word come with clarity, with boldness, with humility, with precision, with understanding, to your glory.
In Jesus' name. Amen. Amen. Today, I want to share a message, which the title is, Let the Bible Live.
Let the Bible Live. Let the Bible Live. Let's all say that together. Let the Bible Live.
One more time. Let the Bible Live. Some have decided not to say it, but that's... Let the Bible Live. Louder. Let the Bible Live. Amen.
Amen. A few days ago, we heard more about how we should allow the Bible to speak. Because the Bible is its own authority.
The Bible doesn't take authority from outside itself. It's its own authority. You know, when a book is written there, or academic exercise, it's submitted. The weight behind it has a lot to do with the references.
The references that can make outside. Authorities. These authorities have said, but the Bible has not got any higher authority to make reference to. So the Bible is its own authority, and the Bible speaks.
When the Bible speaks, God has spoken. That's very important. You can know about God outside of the Bible, because God has revealed himself. Creation tells us about God.
History tells us about God. prophecy tells us about God. Israel tells us it's a witness to the existence of God. So there are different ways you can know about God, but you cannot know God personally, outside of his revealed character, or his revealed word.
So the word of God is a revelation of God to us, of himself. God's self-revelation. So you want to know me here? This is who I am.
So you cannot know God conclusively and comprehensively, outside of the word of God. You can know about God enough to get you condemned on the day of judgment.
But you cannot know about God to get you saved outside of the word of God. So the word of God, we can know God savingly through his word. And that is very important.
So when the Bible speaks, God has spoken. Now, it is necessary to always, when we gather as believers, to allow the Bible to speak.
If I invite you to come and share your thoughts about marriage, you are likely to have something to say. Something sensible.
Many of us will have a lot of sensible things to say when it comes to different subjects. When it comes to even government, or politics, or medicine, law, engineering.
There are so many things many of us have got to say. You know, you can't. So if I actually come and say something, you can have a lot to say. In the same way, what governs my heart and rules, or preoccupies me, is likely to be the dominant thing that I'll be talking about.
So if I come to church as a pastor, and politics has dominated my heart, by the time I realize, my submission is all mainly about politics, and less about what God has got to say.
But it is wrong for us to gather, and something else become the central place of our attention, outside of the word of God. Because when the people of God gather, the word of God must have, we can have meetings for other things, but our worship, and our meetings, must have the word of God as its center, and the word of God, for that matter, must speak.
It's very important. So Jesus puts it this way, blessed are you for the things you hear, okay, the things you know. Blessed are you for what you know, if you do them. In John chapter 13, verse 17, said that, if you know these things, sorry, if you know these things.
So, first of all, we are supposed to know. So when we gather, the word of God must be open for us to know God more, and know the thoughts of God. In fact, it says that, my thoughts are not your thoughts, and my ways are not your ways.
How do you know God's ways, and how do you know God's thoughts? It's all captured here. In fact, the other time, I was teaching, and I said, Matthew 4, for man must not live by bread alone, but by, you know, that word after the by, but by, what?
That word, every. It's a very serious word. Say, every word, that proceeds out of the mouth of God. How am I going to, do you know every word that I've said? You can't know every word that I have said.
But, the Bible says, every word God has said, we should live by it. How do we know it, if it has not been captured somewhere for us? Every word God, if it says you are supposed to live by every word of God, that means that every word of God must be accessible to you.
And so, every word of God is captured here. Every word, we live by the word of God. And it's important to understand that the Bible enjoins us to expose ourselves and to regularly seek to know more of God from his word.
As his word is taught, the Burian Christians in Acts, they were very noble because after they have heard the word, they also go back to check to see if what Paul was saying from the text.
I think, throughout history, our generation is one of the most blessed in this sense that this generation is the generation that has maximum access to the Bible.
In fact, in the medieval periods or before the Reformation, the ordinary man is not permitted to have the Bible. The priests were, so it's all written in Latin and Greek.
So the church, it's all, they'll sing the word to you and you have to listen to what they are saying because you are not permitted to read the Bible.
Why would the church do that? Why would the church not allow people to read the Bible? Because there's something called sacerdotalism, which means that only the leaders or trained priests have access to God and they have to mediate between you and God.
You know, but that is not the New Testament model. So in those days, the church said that we cannot allow the common people who have not been trained, trained to interpret the word of God, we can't allow the access of the word into their hands.
They can't use it wrongly. Which is actually happening in a lot of places now. People are preaching the word of God and they are using it wrongly. They are quoting scriptures to butcher the scripture without knowing.
So they said, no, we can't let untrained people handle the word of God. So it was prohibited for anyone to try to translate the Bible into language that others can understand and read.
So Tyndale tried it. He was executed for that. Wycliffe. People tried it. You are not allowed. And so the reformation and now, what's the sense behind that? The sense behind that is if you are allowed to have the Bible, you stand the risk of misinterpreting it.
And it will affect only you, but affect other people around you. So let's keep it away from you so you don't get into the trouble of and we will interpret it for you. No, but that is dangerous.
So the reformers came up with something, a phrase that, it's called the PPP, the Protestant perspicuity of Scripture. The Scriptures are, no one says something that's conspicuous.
It's not clear. But perspicuous is clear enough. So the perspicuity of Scripture, the principle of perspicuity of Scripture means that the Scripture, the basic, watch this, the basic message of Scripture, so long as salvation is concerned, is so plain that even the most unlearned, if they can read, they can read and understand that message, the message of salvation.
Okay, so let's not keep it away from people. Let's give them, but with the availability of Scripture to the ordinary man, to everybody, comes with the responsibility of understanding it right and applying it right.
The responsibility. So it comes with a bigger responsibility and there's no generation that have had so much access to the Scripture like our generation. You are sleeping, you can be playing it on even YouTube.
To be playing for you. To be playing for you. You can, just at the click of a button, have access to the entire Bible and read it anywhere you are, as long as you have a phone or you have some app, you have internet access.
I mean, so many various ways the Scripture has been made available for us. So we don't have an excuse not to read the Bible. But at the same time, it's the generation that has been so preoccupied by so many other things.
So many things are vying for our attention that you take your phone, you want to even read your Bible, before you could say that, seven notifications. Seven notifications from all over the world.
People have been looking for you and they've seen that you are online. They've seen that you. So, now, we are supposed to read the Bible. Now, very interestingly, you have to understand this.
One of the signs of someone whose heart God has touched or who loves God or people who belong to God, one of the signs is love for God's Word. There is an inward desire for God's Word.
In 1 Peter 2, verse 2, it says, as newborn babies desire the sincere milk of the world. There is an internal desire, an internal affinity. Blessed is the man that does not walk in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stand in the way of sinners, nor sit in the seat of the scumful.
But his delight, you see the delight, a blessed man's delight is always pointing to God's Word. His delight is in the love of the Lord and in His Lord does He meditate day or night.
He has a delight. In Jeremiah 15, verse 16, it said, your words were found and I did eat them. And it said, your word was to me the joy and the rejoicing of my heart.
The Word of the Lord. There's this desire in John chapter 8, verse 20, 47. Jesus said, he who is of God heareth the Word of God. If you are of God, you will hear.
It said, he who is of God hears God's words. When you are of God, there is this desire, affinity. In Romans chapter 7, verse 22, Paul says that there is a desire in my inward man to do your law.
I delight in the law of God according to my inward man. There's this drive. It's deep inside. That's one of the signs that show that someone is alive unto God.
There's this desire in Psalm 119, verse 97. Oh, how love I thy law. In Psalm 119, verse 16, verse 24, verse 35, it all shows how someone can delight himself in verse 47 and 48.
In verse 52, 72. I delight in your verse 92. I delight in your word. Actually, I read verse 97, but from 97, look at 97, 98, 99.
Oh, how love I your law. It is my meditation all day. Next verse. You, through your commandments, have made me wiser than my enemies, for they are ever with me.
Your commandments are ever with me. It's making me smarter. The next verse. I have no honey, the word. I have more understanding than all my teachers, for your testimonies are my meditation.
Psalm 119, verse 105, that word is a lamp unto my end and light. Psalm 119, verse 111, and 113, I delight. Your testimonies I have taken as a heritage forever, for they are the rejoicing.
I can't imagine. Your word, they make my heart rejoice. They are the rejoicing. Look at verse 13, verse 113. It says, I hate the double-minded, but I love your law.
Verse 127. It's throughout. You can see how the sermon said I love. In Job chapter 23, verse 12, it talks about how I even like more than my necessary food. So when I got born again in secondary school, it was a principle, no Bible, no breakfast.
No Bible, no, you have to read your Bible before having breakfast. That's my early Christian upbringing. No Bible, no breakfast. Some of us, we finished dinner. I still know. He said, I have not departed from the commandments of your lives.
I have treasured the words of your mouth more than my necessary food. More than my necessary food. So there is this delightsomeness in the heart of the regenerated towards the word of God.
When you are regenerated, once you become born again, one of the early signs of being born again is you have this desire for God's word. But then we see in the text we read, Hebrews chapter 4, verse 12, it says that the word of God is living.
The word of God, let's all say that together. The word of God is, one more time please, louder please. The word of God is living.
It's alive. It's living. One of the translations, it's active. The active ingredients has entered your system. The word of God is alive.
The word of God is active. The word of God is powerful. It activates something in you. You read your Bible, you read your Bible, something will be reading you. Hallelujah.
Because the word of God is active. Martin Luther said the word of God, he has mouth, he speaks to me. The word of God has eyes, he keeps looking at me. The word of God has got legs, he runs after me.
The word of God has got arms, he holds me. The word of God is living. The word of God is living. So if God's word is living, the Bible doesn't only speak, the Bible in John chapter 1 verse 1.
Can we give it a go? Let's go. And the word was with God. What was God? What was God?
So this word that was God to see his glory, verse 14, and the word became and dwelt amongst us. One more time.
And the word became flesh and dwelt. One more time. The word became flesh and so the word is good to know but it must begin to live.
The word of God must live inside you. It must live. It must, somebody sees you acting, sees you're living and your living makes them read the Bible without opening the Bible because the word of God is living in you.
It's living in you. As they see you, they have seen the word of God living in expression. So it says the word of God is living. In 1 Peter chapter 1 verse 23, it talks about how we are born again not by corruptible seed but by the incorruptible seed.
It says that we are born again not of corruptible but incorruptible through the word of God which that's what lives. The word of God that's what lives.
It's living. It's living. You cannot plant this speaker and expect it to grow or germinate. It doesn't have life but when you plant a seed that has got life with time it begins to find an expression.
It begins to live. It says that the word of God is also living. It's like the seed of God when it hits your system it's meant to live. It's not.
That's why the other time I was teaching I said the Bible is not just for teaching even though technically you say you are teaching. It's not just for teaching it's actually for feeding.
Feeding. So when we come to the Bible we are not coming to just watch this. We are not just coming to learn even though there is something to learn. we are coming to feed.
This is a feeding throw. This is a banquet. We come to God's word to feed. That's why I said feed my sheep.
How does a pastor feed a sheep? By the word of God coming alive to get into them because this thing ah thank you Jesus. this thing is organic.
It's organic. When it enters your system it begins to live. It has life. It's organic. Now when you hear the word oracles oracles of God the oracles of God is when we talk about oracles it's the speaking place of God.
So the place where God's voice is heard where God's voice becomes obvious evident that's the oracle. So somebody can read the Bible without being born again and really will not hear God's word.
But you and I once you have the spirit of God you come to it sometimes you feel that this thing is really talking to me. You can hear God that's the oracles so it becomes the oracle when God's voice begins to come out the speakings of God and it says that the Bible uses the word that the oracles of God they are living oracles.
Acts 739 it says that the Jews they received the living oracles the ones who received the living oracles to give to us the living oracles the word of God is living the word of God is living the oracles of God live as you are here oh oh you see you see the reason why during the COVID and even still now we were really using hand sanitizers a lot was because you contact something and that thing is not just something nothing that thing can begin to have an impact on you because bacteria they live they live they come into your system and then they begin to multiply or begin to affect your system when someone sneezes what is coming out there is life in it oh yeah that's that yeah the person has spilled out his life so something if you go and inhale it you have inhaled something by the time you realize that flu has been transferred to you that airborne that thing is organic it's actually organic now what it is is as I'm standing here and teaching
God's word the oracles of God are organic so as I teach God's word if I am teaching it in truth and I have a relationship with the spirit it's not just information and person but that some organic system organic substance organic matter is being downloaded into somebody is receiving something of God because the word of God is living the word of God is alive the word of God is alive the word of God is alive let the Bible live the word of God is alive it's alive it's alive but you can be hearing the word of God with a face mask you can be reading the word of God when you go to the hospital those of you who work in the medical field you are treating the patient as soon as the doctor comes to come and take care of you you finish talking they go when they want to start examining you and touching you what do they do and then they begin to put on this gloves because they don't want to come into direct contact with any organic substance that will affect them they don't want to pick up anything so sometimes you can be reading the Bible with gloves spiritual gloves on even though the thing is living the transfer there has been a block something is shielding the transfer it's stopping the transfer so that is why
I said let the Bible live it's supposed to have an expression in your life it's supposed to what God wants to do which many of us have not realized he wants to take your life and live through it for the lack of better word he actually wants to possess you you see the way demons can possess people but God cannot do it against your will so he wants you to willingly when you study the scriptures watch these brothers and sisters in Luke chapter 11 verse 28 Jesus said blessed are those who hear the word more than Jesus said more than that blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it when you read some other translations I think the new American standard or English and do it keeping it means you are doing it that's where the blessings come from doing it following it you don't just hear it
Luke chapter 8 verse 21 Jesus said my mother and brother and family are those who hear the word of God and do it doing it changes the game so this morning scripture we had read it says it's one thing hearing the word or reading it it's another thing doing it so it's that anyone who reads it and goes it's like someone who looks at his face in the mirror and forgets who he is and goes now you need another mirror to check how your eyelashes wear but it says that you are supposed to look into it and do it in the verse 25 it says that anyone who if I verse 21 says that we should receive with meekness the engrafted word of God the implanted word engrafted you know in the orange family you can take maybe sasuma branch and graft it into a tangerine and then with time the nutrients the tree is extracting from the soil now begins to you can send it into that after some time even though it's foreign it's become packed that's what is engraftment to engraft or there's something let's go to biology because implant so when you come to church there are some things that are your life is bankrupt enough but after some treats after treatment in God's word after treatment with God's word it becomes now part of your life because the word of God has been implanted has been engrafted he said receive with meekness the implanted word of God which is able to save your soul save your marriage save you from failing save you from harassment shout hallelujah hallelujah the word of God can become part of your expression your life because it is living that's why when they are doing organ transplant they have to get it fresh it's not a dead organ an organ that is still alive and then they will transplant it into a living body if you bring an organ that is dead into a living body it won't work so for it to work it must be alive even though it's coming from outside it's alive and when it's planted in your life it begins to live then let the Bible live let the Bible live the Bible is alive it has life and when you come to church and when you come to the
Word of God we are supposed to take the life and do some transplants it must be part of our lives let the Bible live then one of the biggest charges in coming to Christian worship is the charges after the service go and let the Bible live yes live it out and pass it on you have to live it out you have to live it out you have to live it out it's so important what is the point in reading and reading without letting it live in you when you study the Bible very carefully there are over 250 statements in the Old Testament alone that suggests to us to obey the word of God fully obeying the word of God fully when you study the New
Testament has about 55 statements directly or indirectly telling us to obey the word of God fully now how does the word of God come alive how does it live number one you have to give it attention Proverbs chapter 4 verse 20 21 22 it said my son give attention to my words incline your ears to my sayings do not let them depart from your eyes keep them in the midst of your hearts for why they are life oh they are life this is not just lettuce they are life these are not just words they are life living seeds it says their life to all those who find them and not just it also guarantees a certain level of health to your physical body health to all their flesh when you come to
God's word you are not coming to God's word for opinions even though it will shape your opinions when it begins to live inside you but when you come to God's word primarily we are coming to life we are coming to a source of life we are coming to source of feeding Jesus said I am the bread of life you have to eat me I'm the living bread if you don't eat me you don't have life real life is from God you don't have life true life until you have the life of God which is uncreated life an indistractable life so when you come to God's word you have to give it attention and number two how do you make the Bible live number two obey it obey it several references in the text that cause us to obey obedience cause us Jesus said it's not those who are related to me who are blessed but it's those
Luke chapter 11 verse 28 it's those who do the work of God who follow it Jesus said in John chapter 13 verse 17 blessed are you blessed are you in your doing them not just knowing them in the doing them in James chapter 1 verse 25 and he seeth a man who looks into the perfect law of liberty and him not being a forgetful hearer but a doer of the way he said this man not all men this man is there in Bible this one so there are certain blessings that are for only one this one will be blessed in all he does and so the Bible calls us into obedience now in Matthew chapter 28 verse 19 and 20 Jesus is marching others last words to his army the church is not a cruised liner the church is a worship it's a worship we are at war no we are not in the church cruising no it's a war so
Jesus gave us marching orders and the marching orders were go therefore and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the father the son of holy spirit look at the verse 20 teaching them to observe another word to observe there other translation to obey!
obey! So obedience to God's word is part of God's dealings with us in Deuteronomy chapter 28 verse 1 to 3 it says that if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God to observe carefully all his commandments which I command you today that the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth and all these blessings shall come upon you where are they it's based on our obedience to his word blessings but first of all we are called to walk in obedience Deuteronomy chapter 5 verse 29 that's a very interesting text Deuteronomy chapter 5 verse 29 said oh that they had such a heart in them that they would fear me and always keep all my commandment that it might be well with them and with their children forever!
we must give attention number two obey what the word says I heard this from a certain preacher many many years ago was preaching and he says that when his children disobey their mother he calls them and disciplines them he said daddy why are you disciplined!
he said yes because you disobeyed you disrespected my wife so I deal with you then number two because the word of God says obey my daddy why should I obey I won't give even if he knows the answer I won't give once in the scripture he said I'm training my children to obey unconditionally once they know it's God before understanding even explanation it doesn't mean blind following but as long as you know it's God you don't have any business to ask God why my ways are not your ways as the heavens are higher than the earth my thoughts are not your thoughts my ways are not your ways how high is the heaven no scientific apparatus can ever measure the limit of the heavens no with all our technological advancement we don't even know how high the heavens are and he says the way heavens are higher than the earth so are my ways higher than your ways so the way we think should be done may not be the way
God is going to do it and so if we are not careful we end up forcing God to be like us or I heard what one preacher said some time ago such a blessing he said there is only one God and thank God you are not the one don't try to apply for it it's not necessary there's cause us into obedience of God's word as long as you know this is what God is saying whether it feels convenient let's say my wife has really offended me offended me and the Bible says that don't let the sun go down over your anger it didn't say wait for her to come and apologize being a Christian it starts really it shows more in your domestic relationship it's very easy for my wife that this man is not Christian in 1 John chapter 2 verse 6 he who says he abides in him ought also to walk just as he walked in
John chapter 8 verse 31 he says that Jesus said to them if you abide in my words you are my actual disciples this is connoting obedience if you abide in my words you are my actual disciples in John chapter 14 verse let's look at verse 15 verse 21 verse 23 it says that if you love me keep my commandments verse 23 if you love verse 23 says that if anyone loves me he will keep my words and my father will love him verse 21 he who has my commandment and keeps them is he who loves me there's something about keeping God's commandments no please when it comes to God's command forget about how you feel no no no forget about what this person has done I don't know how I can get over please get over yourself forget if you want to let the Bible live then first of all put your feelings aside your feelings can't be your master your feelings cannot be your master your feelings cannot be your master the word the songwriter says that our strength thy grace our rule thy word then before you talk about our and the glory grace is what strengthens us and the word of
God must be our rule that's why when Christians talk about the authority of God's word God's word is not suggestive it commands and it demands obedience so how does the word of God live if the Bible has to live you have to give your attention if the Bible have to live you have to obey if the Bible have to live you have to let it abide in you John chapter 15 verse 7 if my word if you abide in me and my word abide it is living inside you in Colossians 3 16 let the word of God dwell in you richly it must stay in you I'm going to give you a suggestion that one of my latest discoveries I've always known it sometimes it becomes clearer to you and I believe it will be a blessing to you listen sometimes take your Bible okay Christian you're reading your Bible let's say you're reading 1 John chapter 5 so
Matthew has got 28 chapters Proverbs have got 31 chapters okay so you are reading let's say 1 John chapter 5 you start the month of November I'm reading 1 John every day I'm reading the 5 or every day I'm reading 5 verses and you're reading 1 John chapter 5 when will you finish 1 John chapter 5 and you're reading 5 chapters every day 5 chapters every day when will you finish 1 John 1 day okay now this is what I want to teach you the second day read it again 1 to 5 third day 1 to 5 fourth day 1 to 5 fifth day round to 5 or if you are reading one chapter a day chapter 1 first 5 days finish another 5 day go back one of the beautiful things about the word of God is when you keep going over it repeating over it because it's life it's living you keep repeating it you keep repeating don't just read through and then okay I've read it read it again read it again read it again stop just gathering information you must read it so much that maybe some chapters let's see
Ephesians 6 chapters you've read it so many times so many times in a year you are reading it about 20 times Ephesians so many times that when someone asks you Ephesians chapter 3 verse 9 where is it you can't say oh on the middle of the page halfway left side that's the benefits of having old Bibles you've read it so much you know exactly around the page which corner which number that thing is read it read it read it read it read it read it read it repetition and so the way the word of God can abide in you is when you keep exposing yourself to it now for the word of God to live in you give your attention obey it and let it abide in you now quickly the effects of the living oracles when the word of God starts living in you what happens number one quickly number one it gives you security of the future because in Deuteronomy chapter 5 verse 20 that we read it earlier on it said oh daddy will have a heart to obey my word and that it might be well with them and with their children how long forever the security of your future has a lot to do when the word of
God lives inside you it guarantees your future you can't be a victim easily you can't be a chief victim number two it gives you an inheritance whatever belongs to you in life it doesn't matter how strong the demons from your father's background are or your mother's background are it doesn't matter what demons and what forces of darkness are militating against you if the word of God lives is living in you no force of hell can stop you from becoming what God has designed you to become for that matter your inheritance in Acts chapter 20 verse 32 I commend you to God and to the word of his grace which is able to build you up and do what give you an inheritance among the saints Jesus said if my word abides in you you you you ask whatever and it shall be done your portion is guaranteed when the word of God abides in you your portion in life is guaranteed is secured number three is this is actually the cracks of everything
I want us to know in order to give you number three let me just explain something briefly when we say let the word of God live and obey the word of God it's not just about good moral output that the word of God is living in you so it's merely to produce good morality no that's not why God gives his word to byproduct do you understand that Romans chapter 7 it says that the commandment is just and holy so if you give yourself to the commandment God has not got bad breath the word is his breath when the breath gets into you it doesn't produce offensive lifestyle so those who claim to have the word of God and their lifestyle is not the same there's something wrong it's get away from me thou worker of iniquity so watch this the point I'm making is letting the word of God live is not just about good moral output it's just a byproduct but so what's the main thing of the word of
God living the main thing is that God started something in Genesis and he brought you on earth to come and call so you are just a part of the story God has an because he said I found a man this man will do all my will how do all his will if the word of God is not living in you you don't even ask what would Jesus do you just flow when the word of God the songwriter says breathe on me breath of God fill me with life anew that I may love what thou dost love and I may do what thou watch it by default as the word of God begins to live in us watch this it's not just good behavior but we actually end up fulfilling God's agenda on earth then God finds his entire expression listen the scariest thing is we are all human dying so if you have 70 pounds on you for that trip to spend and you've spent so far or 700 70 is too small 700 and you spend 620 how much are you left yes so if your life is supposed to be 99 and you are 62 you realize that you are getting closer to finishing there are people who were born and their life is 52 by the time they are 48 you have four more years watch this watch this it's not the dying that's worrying is that all your life is for have you thought about the day
God will call you what are you going to do with the shoes what are you going to do with that nice car are communicating something there are quality things houses and we are purchasing it's good it's not bad but have we thought about the day you are ready to check out somebody is going to take over it they will also leave this hall has been here for many years years later kings have come and kings have gone thrones and rulers disappear you are also one day one way or the other it doesn't matter your age you are on your way out every one of us and the bible says that the classic definition of a fool is someone who is rich in life and not rich towards God look chapter 12 Jesus said verse 15 a man's life is not measured the quality of your life is not measured by the number of designer shoes you have the quality of your life is not measured by how much pocket money you got even though it seems like that
Jesus told the woman you will be drinking this water and still remain thirsty because this doesn't satisfy nothing earthly can satisfy the real need of man the real purpose of man nothing earthly so sometimes I know we live in a material world I know we live in a world that there is a risk for gaining we have to always as Christians remind ourselves that is why sometimes it's quite worrying when preaching is all about what you are getting for earth what you are getting the money you are getting the car you are getting why why have preaching been restricted to that it's very dangerous penitials is the word penitials for all you come to church and all you hear is about how to live a better life here are you not going to live here we will live when we live the bigger part of it is there and how we live there will determine by what investment he said don't store your treasures just on store your treasures just on earth but store your treasures and then verse 21 says therefore where your treasure is your heart will also be there so in
Luke chapter 12 Jesus said a man's life does not consist of abundance of possession quickly look at this and he told them the story of a man who was rich he did big investments and the investment yielded like everything now he even wanted to one million every day he will never finish it till he died the next hundred years he had so much he decided if I don't work again so he told himself my fruits are work my investments have work the returns have yielded said relax drink and eat because he said you have many goods laid up for many years many years it don't finish so he said that's a fool God said tonight your soul will be required of you fool he said fool tonight your soul will be required of you and then who's will those things which somebody is going to use those wigs eventually those expensive watches somebody is going to own them tell you eventually that car the way you are killing yourself to decorate your house
I'm not saying it's bad please no it's not bad it's good alright don't get me wrong it's good to have a decent life it's good alright so don't get me wrong but I'm saying that that's not what life is primarily for do you understand that that's not what life is for Jesus said your life will be required of you tonight you are fool and then look at the statement Jesus made after that story so is he who lays up treasure for himself and is not rich towards God so what's the purpose of your life then what's the purpose of your life the reason why you are taking the courses different courses different courses is just so you can have good life that's why you go to school so you can have a good job or be able to your earning power so you okay if you earn the money how much!
then watch then I'll own a skyscraper okay that's good you own it and then what then I'll have many children and then what then we'll be going on cruises and holidays and then what and then I'll be old and so you will die but when you die all these things you have killed yourself for is going to pass on it doesn't go with you it stays so what your heart affections in such a way that you become useful you end up he said he will do all my will David it's not just God said don't steal so I'm not stealing no that's not what I'm talking about but God has an agenda God is actually he has a plan on earth when the Bible leaves you seamlessly flow by default into the program of God that's what I'm saying when the Bible leaves you end up becoming an intrinsic part a natural organic part of
God's program and that is what he rates you on and the scoreboard of God is determined by that not by how much you are shouting you are saying amen and you are receiving blessing you are receiving healing all those things are good but that's not what determines your rating on God's scoreboard and so when the Bible begins to live it's not like you are just a good person but the mission of God church we as a church are in the kingdom I know it not just to come and do church there's a mission there's an agenda of God which many of us have been called to be part of don't take it lightly but you miss it if the word of God is not actually don't an indispensable part of the manifestation fulfillment of God am I communicating something that's a higher way of living and when the word of God lives in you the effect is that
God's agenda becomes a default expression in your life that's what made David David that's what made King Solomon King Solomon that's what made all these great people who have made it in the light of history of God's redemption program that's what made them who they are and I believe that's what is making David MP when the word of God captures your heart that's why everybody must be racing to let the Bible live in your life and when the Bible lives in your life you will be glorified you will be great greatness is not far from the people through whose life the Bible is living greatness is not far from them Jesus said in the book of John chapter 17 verse 1 he said glorify me he said father the hour has come glorify your son that your son God is getting glory I am getting glory verse 5 he said now oh father glorify me together with yourself with the glory with which
I have you so what happens is that when the word of God finds an expression in your life will become great your life will become glorified glorious your life will become elevated greatness there is greatness when the word of God finds an expression in your life it brings so much fulfillment and I pray that as a church and as a people we have to think beyond what am I in this for stop just asking what's in this for me what am I in this for what am I in this hurdles inconveniences that will come our way and different relational issues but don't jump ship don't jump ship because it doesn't change really what am I in this for let the Bible live when the Bible starts to live you realize that there's a cause for your life there's a cause for being in
UK at this time there's a cause for being alive at this time you are not an accident you are on a mission and the agenda of God will be fulfilled in your life in Jesus name Amen may may Thank you.
