Catch The Anointing

[0:12] Be blessed. Jesus Christ had to encounter John the Baptist. There is a man sent from God. His name is John.

[0:24] God sends people our way. God sends people. So in the Old Testament, God will come to Moses. He said, go and tell Pharaoh.

[0:35] Go and tell my people. That's why prophets became so valuable and critical in the Old Testament. Because they were the mouthpiece of God.

[0:47] God will send them, go to this person. Go to this person. Go to this person. Very valuable. God has always used men to reach out to men.

[1:02] This was not printed in heaven. I know some people didn't know that. I know. This was not printed in heaven.

[1:13] Holy men of God were moved. They spoke as they were. Second Peter chapter 1 verse.

[1:23] 20, 21. Holy men of God were. It says that. Holy men of God spoke as they were moved. Say the Holy Spirit.

[1:34] Holy Spirit. Say the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit. So who calls the holy men to do these things? Who calls the holy men to speak these things? The Holy Spirit.

[1:45] He's the agent. He's the chief agent behind the move of God on earth. Because God doesn't work unilaterally. God uses men. Okay.

[1:55] Human beings. So for God to use human beings, the first principle is his spirit must come upon them. His spirit must come upon them to use them to build.

[2:07] To use them to build. Sometimes God can withdraw a certain level of restriction around a person. So Satan can use them to tear down.

[2:20] So as it were, like God used the Sahindrin, the Pharisees, according to Acts chapter 2 verse 24, chapter 4 verse 27.

[2:31] Particularly chapter 4 verse 27 and 28. They teamed up. Pontius Pilate. Herod. They teamed up. It says that. For of a truth against your holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed.

[2:45] Both Herod and Pontius Pilate. With the Gentiles and the people of Israel were gathered together. So they gathered together. But it was God, according to chapter 2 verse 4. It was God's predetermined purpose.

[2:59] So God's purpose. So you can put it like this. God was using them. God was using them. So in what way did God use them?

[3:09] Because that was his prophetic purpose. He used them by withdrawing his hand of restriction. So Satan can have greater access. Because it was Satan who determined to kill Jesus.

[3:21] Satan, the demon's principalities and powers. They determined to kill Jesus. But they did not know. Said if the priests of this world had known, they wouldn't have crucified the Lord of God.

[3:33] They didn't know that by 2 Corinthians 2. They didn't know that by crucifying him, it was actually going to crucify the devil. So God took, withdrawing his hand, and the enemy was able to use them, but it was fulfilling God's purpose.

[3:49] So Satan can use you to tear down. But for God to use you to build, he must anoint you. When we say anointing, it means a presence of the spirit.

[4:01] So in the Old Testament, they practically used the oil. Anoint. Anoint is not some religious term. Anoint is actually to smear with oil.

[4:14] So to smear with oil. So to anoint somebody, it means to apply oil on the person. And in the Old Testament, for the Holy Spirit to come upon you, oil must be applied to you.

[4:25] That's why oil becomes like a symbol of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is not in the bottle. The Holy Spirit is not in the bottle. So when we pour on your oil, you can come and take it and pour it.

[4:37] It might not mean anything. It might not mean anything. It depends. It can sometimes, because it has stayed around the altar for a long time. You know, so apron from Paul's body was sent to the, you know, so I met a friend of mine, a top engineer, a few days ago, I think Thursday or so.

[5:02] And he was telling me, he was telling his brother, who is a top plastic surgeon, top, top. He was telling him that one day, he, this guy came to pick me, not the surgeon, the engineer came to pick me.

[5:16] We went somewhere. That's somewhere last year. We went somewhere. And then when we went and came, he said, the children were in the car when he picked me. When we came back, he went to, we told the children, don't come and sit in front.

[5:27] When they got back home, he got down from, he said, and went in the whole night, sat in the, not the whole night, like for, sat in the seat I sat in. And prayed, the Lord, this thing that is upon the man, let him come up with, let me catch up.

[5:41] God is also now beginning to use him in a very interesting way. You know, so sometimes, it depends on your expectation and the state of your hunger. The state of your hunger.

[5:54] As years ago, when I meet any senior man of God who I value, when I shake them, when I, when I, when I, when I, when I, when I, when I, when I, when I, when I, when I, when I, when I, when I, when I, when I, when I, when I, when I, when I, I say, I receive it.

[6:06] And I'll tell you, I'll ask you, so God anoints people. The Holy Spirit uses people to build.

[6:18] So I'm telling you, the reason why I'm standing here is because of the spirit that must be upon me, which is upon, who is upon me? Now, if the spirit of God is not upon me, I don't have business standing here.

[6:29] That is why the pastor must pay the price to keep your vessel clean because God has not got bad breath. The Holy Spirit is the breath of God.

[6:40] If it's of God, it smells good. It produces godly fruits. How come your life is not producing godly fruits and you say the Holy Spirit is on you? That's bad breath. If you don't separate yourself, sanctify yourself, the spirit of God can really flow through you.

[7:03] Listen, if that thing you are hoping to happen in your life, if it is God who must accomplish it, you need the Holy Spirit. If it is God who must accomplish it, you need the Holy Spirit.

[7:14] How does the Holy Spirit come upon us? One of the chief ways the Holy Spirit comes upon us is when you meet a prophetic agent. So, God said, I want to make David a king.

[7:29] Yeah, he said, go on. Go on. If you want to make David a king, go on. You can't just make him. No. No. You don't understand. He just can't make him. He needs to get David to contact somebody.

[7:43] So, he told Saul, sorry, Samuel, fill your horn, 1 Samuel chapter 16 verse 1, fill your horn with oil, actually, I think verse 6 or so, and go into the house of Jesse, for I have appointed for myself a king in his house.

[7:58] 1 Samuel verse 1. I have appointed for myself a king in his house. He said, go into his house. I have appointed. Go on. If you have appointed a king, yeah, you are God.

[8:10] You are everywhere. Where must someone risk his life? And this prophet, if he goes, and the current king, the incumbent king, Saul, was very strong and wicked guy. If he found out that you are going to appoint somebody, he will kill you.

[8:23] He told God. He told God. So, God said, when you go, let's say we are going to do sacrifices. Yeah. God said, say we are good. Yeah, God, because we have to protect him.

[8:34] God said, we are just going to do sacrifices. I'm coming for sacrifices. You have to risk your life because God wants somebody a king. The prophet, what is, go and make the person a king.

[8:45] No. The prophet must go because the one I am choosing, the one I'm going to work on, the territory I want to work on, must come into contact with a man sent from God.

[8:56] God. Don't be deceived.

[9:08] I'm not standing here because of my education. I'm standing here because of the anointing and appointment. How? And the anointing, it didn't come because I was fasting, give it to me.

[9:20] The fasting is an expression of thirst. Prayer is an expression of intense desire. Spiritual things must be coveted, must be desired. When you desire spiritual things, you get spiritual things.

[9:32] If you desire anointing, spiritual gift, you get it. Amen. But, all those things, the more I prayed and fasted for anointing, the more I found myself getting closer to anointed.

[9:47] Because the anointing is not somewhere. It's with the anointed. Who is an anointed person? An anointed person is the one who God has anointed.

[9:59] The one who has the anointing is anointed. So, something is on him. He's anointed. So, when you are looking for the anointing, go to the anointed to get the anointing.

[10:13] He said, go to those who sell it and buy it. Give us some of your oil. Matthew chapter 25 from verse 5. Then, at midnight, the sound said, the groom, the groom has come.

[10:28] Everybody rise up. And the foolish virgins, I think I heard the story. A certain pastor was preaching. It was a men's conference. And he said, guys, let's be honest.

[10:39] Who would you like to be? He was preaching about the wise virgins and the foolish virgins. Because the wise virgins had lamb, oil in the alarm. So, they still had light at night. But the foolish virgins, they didn't have light.

[10:51] He said, who would you prefer to be with? The foolish virgins in the dark or the wise virgins in the light? What a question.

[11:07] And at midnight, that was a cry. And then he said, give us some. I said, we can't give you. We can't share. Because what we have is not enough for the... What the fuck? You are sitting near somebody in church.

[11:17] They are crying. They are receiving. He said, can you pass on some of your feelings for me? We can't do it. The pastor calls the pastor. He said, you come. The Lord is telling you as you say. And then he lays hands.

[11:27] The person receives and they say, wow, what did you show me? Can you let me also... No. I can't share it with you. He said, lest there be not enough for us. But go, go ye rather to them that sell it.

[11:41] Go. Some people can reach. Look for a carrier. And when you see a carrier, they are serious.

[11:56] They preached. They preached. 1 Peter 1 verse 12. They preached. Who did they preach?

[12:07] They preached Christ. By the... Watch this. It says that, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Spirit sent down from heaven.

[12:20] The Holy... You are preaching the gospel without the Holy Spirit. You can't make impact. You might be a trained lawyer. You just convince them but you can't convict them. That's why you managed to get him to church but it's still not changed.

[12:35] Now he's rather chasing the girls in church. Yeah. He's in church but he's not changed. He's not changed. He's not changed. He's a wolf in sheepskin. It's not changed.

[12:47] That's nature. It takes the Holy Spirit. So we preach the gospel but the Holy Spirit sent... He was sent from heaven to preach to help us do the work. In Hebrews chapter...

[13:00] Actually, in Acts chapter 2 verse 2 to 4 and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Yeah. Suddenly, they came a sound from heaven and mighty rushing like a mighty rushing filled the whole house where they were sitting and throwing tons of fire sat on each one of them and verse 4 says that and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit.

[13:20] They all filled. In Acts chapter 4 verse 31 and when they had pledged they placed and they were filled with the Holy Spirit. And what happened? When they were filled with the Holy Spirit they went and spoke boldly.

[13:33] They spoke boldly and the next one talks about great grace but they spoke boldly. So the speaking was and it was engineered by the Holy Spirit upon them. It was engineered.

[13:49] In Hebrews chapter 2 verse 4 I like that one. God also bearing them witness both with signs and wonders and with diverse miracles and gifts of the Holy Spirit according to when they were preaching God was bearing witness how?

[14:05] With signs and gifts of the Holy Spirit. So the Holy Spirit is the key personality behind the workings of God amongst men and he is on people. And the good news is I'm going to say I just need you to understand what I mean.

[14:26] The Holy Spirit is transferable. You want an encounter with God?

[14:38] Sometimes depending on your hunger you meet a man of God. You meet someone and your life will not be the same again. Most of you here most of you here are evidences of what an anointing on a person can do.

[14:52] That anointing that has brought you this far a higher one greater grace is coming upon you.

[15:03] God uses men.

[15:16] Never forget that. Never forget that. You'll be making a grievous mistake in destiny if you forget it. And sometimes the conundrum about God using men is sometimes you will see the humanity of a man.

[15:35] That it becomes quite complex to be able to match and merge. How can this be so human and yet there is something so heavenly?

[15:48] If you are not careful the humanness can distract you from focusing on the heavenly grace on the person. that is why every man of God God uses must also be guarded in their behavior.

[16:05] Because the behavior of the man of God can significantly distract someone who is receiving from him. That's why a man of God cannot carry yourself anyhow.

[16:20] It's hot. The weather is hot. So you want to wear this short shorts. Tight what do you call it? The one they use at the gym.

[16:32] Cycling shorts. Cycling shorts like look who said adverse. Bare chested.

[16:45] And then somebody's birthday party you are there faster you are dancing no no no there is a way because you are supposed to be a figure of honor. you must carry yourself to command respect and honor.

[16:58] When you command respect it is easy for people to carry on honoring you. But if you don't command respect you distract people. So those of you who are going to be pastors I'm telling you ahead of time.

[17:12] don't forget don't forget that don't forget that you can compromise what God can do with you.

[17:25] Like Jesus said Matthew 10 40 I think so. He who receives you has received me. Think about it. Think about it. Okay.

[17:36] Put it on the screen Matthew 10 40. He that receiveth you think about it. He said he who receives you has received me.

[17:50] You want to receive Jesus who have you received? Don't waste your time in a church you can't receive the pastor on the behalf of Jesus.

[18:01] You are not doing church you are wasting your destiny. Satan will whack you. You aren't going anywhere. And a pastor you can't receive can't help you. You know him too much.

[18:16] That is your cousin. That's why he can't help you. Sorry cousin. You know him too much. He used to be your former boyfriend before he became born again.

[18:33] So you remember you remember all this. Yeah. You remember all this. Yeah. Sometimes you look at this guy. I'm telling you.

[18:45] You are capping your opportunities. Am I teaching somebody something? He was speaking in Mark chapter six.

[18:57] Verse two Bible says that they muffled and they said that where does this man get all this wisdom? And from where does he get this wisdom that mighty works are done by his hands?

[19:08] They saw it. They said this is amazing. Look at the next verse. Verse three. Then they said we know him too much to attribute that. So their carnal knowledge of him jumped up their spiritual discoveries.

[19:23] They can't say they didn't spiritually they discovered that there's something on this person. But they knew him too physically that he jammed it up and he couldn't do much for them. I think since I'm in that scripture look at the next verse.

[19:38] But Jesus said unto them a prophet is not with a prophet. A prophet is always an object of honor apart from those who know him.

[19:52] Because God is the grace upon the person. But when you get so close to him you are looking about where is the grace. So you eventually resort to dealing with him just like a normal person.

[20:06] But when he's far you see an owner. You see there's something the closer you go you don't see much. The closer you go when you become so familiar that's why those of you want to marry women of God or man of God.

[20:18] You have to be careful. Because some of us when you marry a man of God you kill him. You kill his anointing. Or a woman of God.

[20:29] you kill your anointing. But in his own country four places among his own country among his own relatives in his own house.

[20:46] Watch this. The next verse. Now he could do no mighty works. Mighty works. He couldn't do it. Jesus says himself yeah. He could do no mighty works.

[21:00] Except what? Except what? All the people.

[21:17] The minimal an anointed person can do that facilitates transfer. Okay. he didn't get it.

[21:29] He couldn't do mighty things. But the least that can flow through you. When you lay hands, when you are anointed you lay hands, something happens. The least, he could just do the least.

[21:43] The least an anointed person can do. You don't always need an anointed person to lay your hand. from far you can tap. The easiest way to tap from an anointed person is honor.

[21:56] Receive the person and honor the person. That's what I do to my bishop. Ag bishop. Whether I like it or not. I love the bishop. I love bishop Edipo.

[22:10] I love bishop Dag. If you speak against them, you are my enemy. you can even be his son. I love him.

[22:21] I love you because of him. If you start attacking him, you fall into my firing line. And I will guard that honor with my entire life.

[22:36] I don't have anything to lose because I didn't have anything until I started honoring them. So if you try to attack them, you are attacking what I'm getting.

[22:48] So everything I've got, I can put it on the line. I don't care. And fight it. I can gain it back as long as I keep honoring. He could dare do no mighty miracles or mighty works.

[23:10] Meanwhile, the verse two, they saw the mighty works. mighty works. They said that what from whence has this man these things and what we don't miss this which is given unto him that even such mighty works were wrought by his hands.

[23:28] His hands were mighty works. And they said, but this is not the carpenter. We know his brother. We know his sister. We know if he's a school teacher. one of the former teachers said about this guy, why is he behaving?

[23:43] Jesus. When he was in school, he was a good boy, but now I don't know what has come on him. He said he's mighty God or something. Jesus. And they went to see Mary.

[23:55] Mary, can you speak to your boy? You know, me, when he was in school, he was my favorite student because he was so good. And you know, I've always loved Jesus. The head master said, I should tell you, he's leading a lot of people last day.

[24:07] He's a good boy, but now he's taking it to fire. Because we know him. We know him from normal guy. This normal person. An anointing is the Holy Spirit on normal people.

[24:26] When the Holy Spirit comes up on normal people, it's called anointing. That is why people can take you for granted. Because it does not take away your normalness.

[24:39] The Holy Spirit does not take away your humanness. You are human and yet the Spirit is upon you. Jesus showed up.

[24:51] Luke chapter 4 verse 18. The Spirit of the Lord is upon me. Ah! Ah! That's why all these things were happening in his life. Why? Because the Spirit of the Lord is upon me.

[25:02] For he has anointed. When you mention anointing, you are talking about a normal person. But extraordinary heavenly hand has come upon him. And he has anointed me not to look good, but to do something to people.

[25:20] You are not getting it. He has anointed me to do something to people. He has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor.

[25:33] He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted. To preach deliverance has come. Did you see what anointing can do?

[25:48] Anointing can preach the gospel to the poor. Anointing can heal the brokenhearted. Anointing can preach deliverance to the captives. Anointing can preach recovery of sight to the blind. Anointing can set at liberty those who are bruised anointing can declare the acceptable year of the Lord.

[26:09] There is a year your destiny has waited for. There is a season your destiny has waited for. It takes an anointing to come. I prophesy the acceptable year of the Lord.

[26:21] I prophesy the chosen year of the Lord. This is your year. This is your year. This is your moment. This is your hour. This is your season. This is your time.

[26:32] If you believe in shout yes Lord. There's already an anointing in the house.

[26:50] There's an anointing flowing in the house. There's an anointing flowing in the house. There's an anointing flowing in the house. And somebody is catching it.

[27:01] Somebody is catching it. Somebody is catching it. Your story is changing. Your situation is changing. There is an anointing in the house for you. Please sit down.

[27:14] She said to herself if I can Mark chapter 5.

[27:25] Wait. Mark 5 from verse 28. She said to herself if I can you must learn how to place a demand when you see an anointing on a place.

[27:36] don't always wait for the anointing to come looking for you. Sometimes when you see the anointing is in the territory you must do whatever it takes.

[27:53] You must put in the gear and be determined that I am grabbing my testimony. I'm grabbing my help. I'm grabbing my miracle. If you believe in shout yes Lord.

[28:08] Please be seated. Whilst Apollos was at Corinth Paul having passed through the upper coast of Ephesus and finding certain disciples said unto them verse 2 did you receive the Holy Ghost since you believe and they said we have not so much as heard as to whether there be any Holy Ghost.

[28:39] He said so into what then were you baptized? They said unto John baptism and he said John baptism was a baptism of repentance and he told them to believe that they should believe on him who should come after him that is on Christ Jesus Christ Jesus and they were verse 5 says when they heard this they were baptized the Lord Jesus Christ when and when Paul laid his hands on death something heavily happened to them hallelujah when Paul had laid his hands upon them the holy when he had laid his hands upon them a man a man who used to be a persecutor an injurious person a man who he laid his hands on other people and the holy ghost comes he laid his son holy ghost came on this one he laid his son holy ghost came on this one he laid his son the one holy ghost didn't come so he tried holy ghost came holy ghost came who else so so so it looks like when he touched you holy ghost comes when he had laid his son on them the holy spirit i like i like the the the holy is it the holy spirit came upon them when when the church apostles in jerusalem when they heard that samaria has received the word verse 14 chapter 8 they sent unto them peter and john who when they came prayed verse 15 that they might receive the holy ghost for at that time the holy ghost has not yet why must he wait for them to come peter and john to come because the anointing is resident resident in the anointed sovereign god what where is the anointing it's in the anointed where is the anointing if you want the anointing what should you look for look for the anointed so certain system of keeping people in bondage keeping their eyes blind keeping them in captivity is to influence them to neutralize the anointed to say this is us, we are all the same.

[31:48] As long as you go down that line, you have neutralized the anointing on the person's life. It's still active, but so long as you are concerned, it's inactive towards you. Because if you receive him, you receive him.

[32:03] The text didn't stop there. Matthew chapter 10 verse 40. It said that if you receive a prophet, ah, if you receive, ah.

[32:14] How do you receive a prophet? In the name of a prophet, not in the name of a brother. Some people say things erroneously, but we are all children of God.

[32:25] Yeah, yeah, right. We are all children of God, but we are not all equally anointed. We are, the Niger, I've said this a few times, the Nigerian high commissioner in this country.

[32:40] Is he Nigerian? Are you sure he's Nigerian? The high commissioner from Nigeria. Is he Nigerian? What kind of passport has he got? Nigerian passport.

[32:51] And if you are also Nigerian, what passport you got? Nigerian passport. You can be arrested. He cannot be arrested. Even though all of you are Nigerian. That one he has immunity.

[33:02] We are all Nigerians, but not all of us can be arrested. You would receive a prophet in the name of a prophet. Suddenly, what prophets carry?

[33:16] Begin to speak for you. He said, Sir, he said, when you have left me and you are going, you will meet a company of prophets coming from the holy hill of God.

[33:37] And when you meet them, you will be prophesying. As soon as you meet them, the spirit of the Lord will come upon you. And you shall prophesy with them. And you shall be another man.

[33:48] You shall be another man. You shall be another man. Shout hallelujah. It's in your Bible. He said, I'm appointing somebody a king.

[34:03] Tomorrow I'm going to send him to you. Huh? You want to, verse 6 of, no, no, verse 16 of chapter 9, verse 1. You want to make someone a king? He said, I'm going to send him to you tomorrow.

[34:16] Yeah. The day before, God has told, he said, tomorrow about this time, I'll send a man out of the land of Benjamin and that shall anoint him to be a captive of my people, Israel.

[34:29] I'm saying, but let him be. No, he needs to encounter with the prophets. He needs to encounter with them. What is God trying to do in your life? Which prophets have you encountered?

[34:39] I've seen my prophets. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Because of that statement, let me also tell you something.

[34:53] A teacher, what you do with a teacher? You take his instructions. Until you follow instructions, he's not your teacher. A prophet, you own a prophet.

[35:10] A prophet, you own a prophet. A teacher, you follow their instructions. He teaches you, do this, do this, do that, do that. A prophet, you follow.

[35:22] They told Elijah, it's okay. Even the prophet himself said, don't follow me. He said, ah. Do you know how Elijah put it? He said, as long as thy soul, the Lord liveth, and as long as thy soul liveth, I will never leave you.

[35:42] Elijah said unto Elijah, tarry here. I pray thee, for the Lord has sent me to Jericho, and he said unto, and he said, as long as the Lord liveth, and as long as thy soul, it's not only God though, you too, you are in a question.

[35:55] As long as God, is there, and you are there, I will not, I will not leave you. I will follow you. And, guess what? A double portion, of what was on the guy, he was following, came upon him.

[36:13] It wasn't Elijah's to give. It was Elijah's to take. No, no, no, no.

[36:23] What I carry, I can't just pass it on to you. You, you can take it. You can take it. You can take it. You have to pursue it.

[36:37] You have to covet it. You have to extract it. You must be an expert, in extracting anointing. Drill, when they ask you, what you do, your hobby, say you, your hobby is to drill oil.

[36:50] You are into oil drilling, oil extraction. I'm into oil extraction, and a drill oil.

[37:04] This was not offshore, onshore. Fracking, eh? So, when Samaria, sorry, Jerusalem had, that Samaria had received, the word they sent to him, they sent to them, John, Peter and John, who when they came, prayed, that they might receive, the Holy Spirit, for the Holy Spirit, has not yet been relieved.

[37:24] They have only believed, in the Lord Jesus Christ. Here's the verse, verse, verse 17. Then they laid their hands, on them. And what happened?

[37:41] Hey. Where is the Holy Spirit? Let me show you.

[37:52] There was an observer. He likes spiritual things. He was observing. Anything comes upon this one. Hey, this is very interesting. Wow.

[38:03] So, look at verse 18. When Samaria, the sorcerer, he saw, that the Holy Spirit, was given. He said, the Samaria saw, that through the laying of the hands, of the apostles, the Holy Spirit, was given.

[38:21] Wow. The Holy Spirit, was given, by human beings, laying hands. He said, Kai, this day, I want some.

[38:32] He said, I want some. Because, he wanted, what embellishes him. But the Holy Spirit, is given, to serve others. His heart, was not right.
