Take A Praise Break!

[0:00] Welcome. Thank you for choosing to listen to another word filled message by David Entry. Preaching is the means by which God manifests his word and nourishes our spirits.

[0:12] May the life of God enter into you and you as you listen to this message. Be blessed. H-A-L-A-L. Halal. How many of you have heard this word before? Hallelujah. Praise God.

[0:24] Now, hallelujah is derived from halal. Yahweh. How many of you have heard Yahweh before? What is Yahweh? God. That is what some German theologians translated as Jehovah.

[0:37] It's not Jehovah. It's Yahweh. And so they usually short form it and they sometimes say Yah. Now, so hallelujah. Praise the Yah. Praise the Lord.

[0:48] So hallelujah is one of the English, Hebrew words that are translated as praise. And it simply means praise. In essence, it means celebrate like we are doing here. It means cry aloud. It means boast. You see when you watch the TV, when they are selling a car, there's these adverts I really like. That car that comes to dance.

[1:09] What car is that? Is it Renault? I like that. The car can dance. You see what I'm talking about? Yeah. So, so now, now, now. So when people who sell stuff, or when you go to even the market, people who are selling, you know, they are boasting of what they, when you watch every adverts, they boast about what they have. Now, halal is to just boast about your God in praise.

[1:33] That is why when it comes to praise Him, halal means that be glamourously foolish for Him. So it's like you've lost your sense. You are just being crazy for Him, praising Him anyhow.

[1:44] Celebrating Him. You know when you are celebrating your birthday, when you are celebrating an anniversary, the way you go about rejoicing, that is halal. So you halal God, you are celebrating Him. You are rejoicing in His presence.

[1:54] That is halal. The next word I want to mention, the Hebrew word is yadah. Say yadah. Yadah. Y-A-D-A-H. Yadah simply means to throw up. It means confess and just throw up to Him.

[2:11] And usually they used to yadah Him by lifting up, throwing up their hands. And when you throw up your hands, it's a sign of surrenderance. Some of us, when we are praising, we don't like lifting our hands. Then we say, lift up your hands. Oh, this is what punishment is this. My hands are tied.

[2:26] Hallelujah. One of the easiest ways it is for a child to secure an adult's attention, or when the child wants the adult to lift the child up, what does the child do?

[2:40] He begins to lift his hands. So when you begin to worship, it doesn't matter, maybe you are not a good singer, but when you lift up your hand in worship, when you yadah, you are telling God, God, lift me up. Daddy, lift me up. Daddy, raise me. I'm coming to you.

[2:53] And Daddy sits there and says, that's my boy. That's my girl. That angels, come on, come on. Send him some help. Send him. Help is coming to somebody. I should begin to yadah. Hallelujah. Someone lift up your hands and say, I praise you, Lord.

[3:06] Hallelujah. And so the yadah, that is yadah. And then the next word they used to use, celebrate. No, I will lift this one and go to the other one so that I can say that the last one. And then the next one is tehillah.

[3:18] T-E-H-I-L-L-A-H. Tehillah. Tehillah is just an extension of yadah.

[3:29] But it's like a group, it talks more of a group of people like a kwa, or a huge congregation who are all yadahing together. So tehillah sends signals of a group of people, cooperative yadah, lifting their voice in praise and in adorations to God.

[3:47] So when they talk about tehillah, now you can't necessarily tehillah in your room alone. You can do it with your friend, your wife, your husband, your sister, your brother. But tehillah talks about a group of people lifting their voice and their hands in yadah and adoration.

[4:03] And then we have the Barak. Say Barak. When you read Psalm 34 verse 1, Barak, B-A-R-A-K. Barak. When you read Psalm 34 verse 1, it said, I'll bless the Lord at all times.

[4:16] That word that was translated bless is the Barak. So I'll Barak. Now, Barak, what does Barak? Barak means that to bless him, lift him at any cost. So it doesn't matter how you feel.

[4:28] It doesn't matter how you may be, what you may be going through. It's just a choice to lift his name up in spite of the circumstance. So that's why you want to Barak God. You just bless him.

[4:38] You lift his name up. Your heart is filled with appreciation. And you show it in spite of the condition you are in. That is Barak him. Can somebody lift up their hand and Barak to God? Say, I'll praise you.

[4:49] Yeah, say, hallelujah. Hallelujah. You Barak him. You may be having some pain. Sometimes you come to church and praising God. Somebody say, oh, I have some pains in my way. That is when you have to even Barak.

[5:01] Because while you are Barak in, he touches your waist. You have a headache. So you sit down. Come, get up. Praise him. Sometimes I find it difficult when we are praising God and somebody is so cute. All cute or all gentle sitting there.

[5:14] Oh, why do you miss such an opportunity? Join the wagon. Join the tribe of Judah. Before you can see the lion of the tribe. Hallelujah.

[5:26] Hallelujah. Sometimes when we are doing praise and I will see some people sitting there. Sometimes these guys, those who, you know, because they have to give attention to the thing.

[5:37] But sometimes I wonder, can't you even praise God and still be doing it? I praise you God. And they sit down. Sometimes some of them nowadays they don't do it anyway. But they used to sit down like G-shee mommies. You know what I'm talking about.

[5:51] And sometimes it bothers me so much. I said, oh my God, these guys are missing out a miracle. We are praising God and you are all cute and you are sitting and you don't even know what is going on. Hallelujah.

[6:05] Yes. Praise God. That is Barak. And then Zama. Zama, Z-A-M-A-R. Zama is just praising him with a musical accompaniment.

[6:17] And so what we are doing here earlier on with the musicians is we are Zama-ing. Zama, praising him with musical. So when music comes, it's Zama. So you can't Zama God without music.

[6:29] You understand that. Bible says that praise him skillfully. Psalm 33, I think 2 and 3. So it talks about how you should praise him skillfully on the instruments of ten strings. Psalm 100 talks about praise him with loud sounding cymbals.

[6:43] Praise him with the timbrel. Praise him with the horn. Hallelujah. So that is Zama with musical accompaniment. And then the last two, we have the Todah.

[6:53] T-O-W-D-A-H. Todah. Todah. Todah. Todah is an extension, more of an extension of halal.

[7:07] The same thing is just like celebrating God. Just praising him. Rejoicing in him. Boasting in him. So it's more of an expression of thanks. You are so thankful for God.

[7:18] And you are expressing your thank in a halal. So whilst you are dancing, you are expressing your thank. My Lord, you are good to me. You are good. Oh God, I thank you. I praise you. You don't mind who is sitting on your left, who is sitting by your right.

[7:31] You don't mind whether that's somebody you want to woo or you don't want to woo. A girlfriend, a boyfriend, a husband, a wife. You don't mind about that because you just are all out for God.

[7:43] That's why I like some of the praise and worship backers. When they stand here and they're going like that, they are all out for Jesus. Amen. That is, you begin to express your thanks in your day.

[7:56] And then the last one is the one I usually like. Somebody say Shabak. Shabak. See the way it sounds. Say Shabak. Shabak. It sounds vibration. Say Shabak. Shabak.

[8:07] Say Shabak. Shabak. Say like I mean Shabak. Shabak. S-H-A-B-A-C-K. Now Shabak, what does Shabak mean? Shabak simply means praising, but that is what they did, which I'm going to show you in the book of Joshua in a moment.

[8:22] That's what they did. Bible says that, and Jesus lifted up his voice and commanded Lazarus, come forth. With a shout, Lazarus came out of the void. Shabak simply means praising God, addressing him with a loud sound.

[8:37] So if you don't like noise, you are not ready for Shabakim. Because God, in fact, when you read the Psalms, when you read a lot of places in the Psalms, it says that, make a joyful noise unto the Lord.

[8:50] Praise him with noise. So God likes Shabakim. And when we begin to Shabak, that is serious. When you Shabak, it's like a term or something. That is what, Bible says that in the book of Kings, 2 Kings, some people had besieged Samaria and when the lepers got up, they were going to the camp of the enemies.

[9:10] My Bible says, God made them to hear loud noise, loud footsteps. So when the enemies hear, they get confused. What is happening in the camp of Israel? What is happening in the camp of Zion?

[9:22] Say Zion. And so Shabak, people who are all around must know that God comes here every Sunday. Somebody shout hallelujah. In Isaiah, it says that the battle of the warrior is with a confused noise.

[9:38] Hallelujah. The battle of the warrior is with a confused noise and garments deep in blood. What is the blood here? The blood of the Lord.

[9:49] The blood of the Lamb. Hallelujah. The battle of the warrior is with a confused noise. So when we meet and we begin to Shabak, Shabak means, come on, lift up your voice and give him a shout.

[9:59] Is somebody ready to give him a lot of Shabak? Yeah. Is somebody ready to give him a lot of Shabak? Yeah. Is somebody ready to give him a lot of Shabak? Come on Shabak. Shabak.

[10:13] Shabak. Shabak. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Listen, listen, listen.

[10:24] okay I realize that you missed something here Shabbat is not simply shouting to the Lord making a noise Shabbat is making a triumphant noise that is why you read Psalm 47 verse 4 I said clap your hands all you people and shout unto God with a voice of triumph what is a triumphant noise?

[10:42] it means that the noise that only winners make that is the kind of noise which you hear when David Beckham playing for England scores a goal on the World Cup everybody everywhere when you go to the stadium when your football team is winning when they score a goal a powerful one or maybe they even equalize or they are about to close and they finish the game and they finish with one goal they score the thing you know the way people begin to jump Shabbat now it is an uncontrollable excitement from within but it produces the shout the rejoicing so you can't be Shabbat and be ahhhh ahhhh ahhhh ahhhh I see they are squeezing your neck ahhhh I don't know some people because they are in church and what they are doing they have to do it so they have to try ahhhh ahhhh say pastor it is too long let's finish and stop ahhhh am I talking to someone

[11:46] Shabbat is not like that Shabbat is the jaw it comes so most of the time you can't Shabbat and even feel comfortable and sit down when they actually don't don't get up you can't even sit down because hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah you feel like running all over right now if I come here somebody comes and tells you that oh my sister the deal has gone through and tomorrow morning they say you come for 10 million some of you you are acting all that cute if they tell you tomorrow morning come for 10 million all the headache will run away she said 10 million is even enough only 1 million the gentleness will vanish the headache that oh the pain you have been feeling all around your thighs they will go you will be happy you will be 10 million hallelujah are you sure are you sure that is the joy that comes as a result of winning is from within hallelujah and so when it says when Jesus is on our side we are on the winning side and so when you begin to Shabbat we don't praise him because everything is not okay the reason why some of you your miracle is not going to show up is because you are waiting for it to show up before you praise him you have kicked yourself out of Judah the Judeans the Judeans not the Jews but the Judeans we the Judeans we praise before the miracle shows up so people around us will see us rejoicing so glad about something that hasn't shown up yet but we know that it has shown up already so we begin to make noise we begin to shout we begin to jump around so what when we begin to Shabbat you can't be standing in one place you feel like running all over the place not just when you see us praising you see people running around the place people jumping don't don't don't say what is he doing he's Shabbat somebody are you ready to Shabbat is somebody ready to Shabbat come on give the Lord a Shabbat come on hallelujah hallelujah thank you for listening to this message by David Entry to hear more from David Entry follow him on Facebook
