The Miracle At Lystra

[0:13] Be blessed. Faith at work. There's saving faith. When you get born again, everybody, according to Romans chapter 12 verse 3, we have been given a measure of faith.

[0:30] And then we understood that 2 Thessalonians 1.3, we have exceeding growing faith. And we have faith that comes by the word of God, which is a speaking faith.

[0:42] So faith must grow. Faith must come by God's word. And then we also understood that once it comes by the word of God, it must be fed.

[0:54] So the word of God continues. It comes by the word, but the word of God continues to feed our faith. And it's your faith that can make you sleep in the storm.

[1:08] These are seasoned fishermen. I just like how he put it. Seasoned fishermen, they understood the predicaments they were in. So Bible actually posted this way. They were in jeopardy.

[1:21] That's what Bible said. They were in jeopardy. And then they woke Jesus up and said, don't you care that we perish? That's very interesting. So they knew. They understood what was going on.

[1:33] But they were sleeping. And my friend, Jesus, we are perishing. So, and Jesus, in the book of Luke, the Luke account, actually asked them, where is your faith? How are you afraid? Where is your faith?

[1:47] So what they needed in the storm was faith. So what was making him sleep? Faith. And they all walking with him, they had a measure of faith.

[1:59] So in the storm, they should have also activated faith. There is no need to be afraid.

[2:33] Of what can happen when God is with you. So we understand by the teachings we've heard so far and we've been hearing, that faith is just a necessary aspect of your progress in life.

[2:52] So long as God is concerned, the just shall live by faith. Yesterday I was explaining in Habakkuk 2.4, the just shall live by his faith.

[3:03] In Romans 1.17, the just shall live by faith. In Galatians 3.11, the just shall live by faith. Hebrews 10.38, the just shall live by faith. So faith, we live by faith.

[3:16] And then we understand from 2 Corinthians 5.7 that we walk by faith and not by sight. Then we found out in 2 Corinthians 1.24 that we stand by faith.

[3:30] We stand by faith. So by faith we stand. He said, we are helpers of your destiny because by faith we stand. We stand by faith. So faith is just a foundational necessity in dealing with God, in receiving from God, in moving from one level to the other.

[3:49] And we heard from what Bishop was teaching earlier on that we move from faith to faith. He said that faith springs forth. Now, there's an aspect of faith that your faith doesn't have life if you don't have that aspect.

[4:04] Yesterday, I was explaining how you need to speak because faith must be a speaking faith. Jesus said, if you have faith like Master's seed, Luke chapter 17, as well as Master's seed.

[4:17] Luke chapter 17 from verse 6. It talks about, they said increase our faith. Jesus said, if you have faith as little as Master's seed, you may say. All right. So if you have faith like you can say.

[4:28] Faith makes you say. He told them, have faith in God. Mark chapter 11, verse 22. Have faith in God. Then it goes on, whosoever shall say to this mountain, be removed and be cast into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things which he sayeth.

[4:49] Faith has a lot to do with what you are saying. So it says that what sayeth it? The word is near you in your mouth. What word? The word of faith which we preach.

[5:00] So faith has a lot to do with what you are saying as well. What you are saying. So faith can't act. Or faith is invalid when you are not saying what the word, and you don't say anything but what the word has said.

[5:16] So he said the word of faith. He says that what word? The word of faith which we preach. So the pastor preaches so you can say it. The word of faith.

[5:28] In fact, Hebrews. Hebrews chapter 13, verse 5. He said let your life be without covetousness. Why? Because God has said, I will never leave you nor forsake you.

[5:40] Verse 6. So we may boldly. Why did God say he said it? So we may boldly say.

[5:50] So you must be a master of downloading what God has said into your heart. By reading it, not reading it. Reading is not enough. Steady it is not enough.

[6:01] You have to hear it. After you heard it, it says go straight into your heart. David said your word have I hid in my heart. Psalm 119 verse 11.

[6:12] The store place, the store room, the store position, storing position or room in your life. For God's word is your heart. So he said the word of faith which we preach is in your mouth and in your heart.

[6:25] So the word comes into you. When you receive God's word truly, it's not a head thing. It's first a heart thing. Your head understands it so that it can enter your heart. So if your head understands it but it doesn't enter your heart, you haven't caught the word.

[6:41] Now when it enters your heart and it is a word that produces faith, as I told two days ago or two nights ago, that faith is a reaction. It's a reaction, a positive reaction to God's word.

[6:56] So when the word comes, you react to it affirmatively. Yes, this is true. Yes, this is true. I receive you. I believe that. It doesn't matter the condition I'm in. I just know God is true.

[7:07] God's word is the reality. All the other things might be facts. But God's word is the reality. And so once faith comes and you receive it, you speak it out.

[7:18] It's not only faith that we speak. It is necessary to speak faith. But as well, faith must be in action. So in James, it talks about James chapter 2, 16, that was all the way through to 26.

[7:32] It talks about faith without works. So faith must have corresponding works. Say, my faith must have corresponding works. Thank you.

[7:44] Sometimes it's not the jumping that you might do, which is also necessary. Sometimes it's not the shouting that you might do, which is also necessary. But sometimes even the expression on your face tells that you are just ready.

[8:00] Faith has built up. And so in the book, the first, the script, the main scripture I want to read is Acts chapter 14. Ah, I like the verse 8. It says that, and there sat a man, there sat a certain man where at least, ah, I like it.

[8:18] I almost wanted to call it the miracle at Lystra. Lystra. Let's not read it out from the screen. Let's go.

[8:29] And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother's womb, who never had worked. The next verse.

[8:40] The same heard Paul speaking, who steadfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith. What? The man was in a condition.

[8:56] He was born like that. But he brought himself into an atmosphere where a word of God was being taught. That's where the miracle started. He said, the same, the same heard Paul speaking.

[9:12] I don't know who is the same person hearing me speak. You heard the testimony.

[9:24] She said, God, servants, declared there is somebody with a problem with your ventricles. And she said, actress, sorry, actress. And she said, this is me. She heard it.

[9:36] She received it. Within four days, something that should have taken over six months. Within four days, there has been a radical. Oh. Do you know what caused this?

[9:47] The same heard servant of God speaking. Come on. And watch this. There's somebody here.

[9:59] And there's a problem in your life. But that's the beginning of the story. Okay. Okay.

[10:10] Okay. Pastor, show me a scripture for that. We just read it. Didn't you see it? Look at the verse eight again. It described the man's condition. The problem, the important man at Lystra.

[10:23] There and there sat a certain man at Lystra. What about that man? No, no. Okay. Let me tell you the man. He had a big problem. What was the problem? He was important in his faith.

[10:33] Huh? Since when? Being a cripple from his wife. Ah! And he never had work. Ah! But that was the beginning of the problem. Thank God the chapter does not end in verse eight.

[10:50] I'm telling you, tonight, maybe you are in verse eight. You are in verse eight. The story has not ended because you are in verse eight.

[11:06] You might be listening to me and your situation is clearly verse eight. Verse eight is where the problem is described. But verse nine is where we saw the work.

[11:22] And look at verse nine. The same. That's how it started. That's why. Please, those who don't like listening to preaching. I feel sorry for you. Yeah.

[11:33] Oh, pastor, let's sing more. Beware for healer. Please, please, please. Please, please, please. The same. Pastor, but do we need preaching upon preaching?

[11:46] Yes. Because the same must hear the word preached. The same heard Paul speak.

[12:00] The same heard Paul speak. The same. Why? Why do you say the same? Because he's trying to say the one with the problem. He's like, oh.

[12:14] It's not his mother who had it for him. It wasn't his brother. It wasn't his father. It was that same guy with the problem. So then that's where God began to step in.

[12:28] Because the same heard Paul speak. The same, he didn't read Paul speak. He heard Paul speak.

[12:39] What is your blessing in this season? I can see my preacher.

[12:52] The same heard Paul speak. I don't know who I'm talking to. Maybe you came into this building by accident.

[13:03] Or you tuned in online by accident. But I'm happy you have tuned in. Because you are hearing you this same person. With this same complication. With this same problem.

[13:14] With this same problem and sickness. You are hearing me speak. And I speak into your life. I speak into your life. I speak into your situation.

[13:26] Let there be peace. The same heard Paul speak.

[13:38] Let's hear it together. The same heard Paul speak. Satan said, oh no. Oh no. The guy started listening to Paul.

[13:49] Oh no. Because that's where the game began to change. It didn't begin to change because he had a problem. So you can have a problem and nothing will change.

[14:05] You got to hear. Not music. You got to hear. I work. I work. You see, what church is about, most people don't have a clue.

[14:19] But usually the problem is, who is teaching you? Yeah. They think. So they think, oh, let's just, let's just, let's just. If you can have powerful musicians. No.

[14:31] It starts with a powerful declarer of the God's word. Preacher of the God's word. Any church that expands without powerful preaching, it is not a church growth, it's church swell.

[14:49] It's a growth. There's not just some growth on your body that is, listen, it must be dissolved. It's not a good growth. There are times, some time ago, I took my car to the mechanics and they said, they checked everything, they said, oh, they're one of the tires.

[15:06] I said, what's the problem with the tire? The tire had developed a bump. So when I'm on the motorway, I feel . So I thought it's some metal something.

[15:17] No, no, it's just a small bump. It looks like if I die, we even hit the cab and say, no, no, no, no, no, no. It's an unhealthy growth.

[15:28] You are spiritually not growing if the Word is not growing inside you. How do you define spiritual growth? You are not growing. Your faith is not growing in the absence of the Word flowing.

[15:45] The Word must flow into you for your growth, for your faith to grow in you. It's a nice day, isn't it? The Word must flow for faith to grow.

[15:59] The Word must flow and the brick. The one from the road. The same. That's not allowing me to go. The same. Pastor Tim, come. It's like, behave like that cripple on the floor. Be walking on the, crawling on the floor. Yeah.

[16:10] Problem. Verse 8. Problem. Can I have some observers? So these are observers. They are watching. Some of you, your problem, you can't hide it because everybody knows that you are not married. They know.

[16:21] Yeah. Everybody knows you are not married. Everybody knows you are not married. Everybody knows you are not married. Everybody knows you are not pregnant. Everybody knows you are not Everybody knows you failed your exam.

[16:41] They know your problem. Everybody know you have a problem with your experience.

[16:56] your leg so they were observing them and it's been like this all his life but the story was about to change well as a sisters this is Lystra there was a man and there were people and they knew him from his mother's womb this is Acts chapter 14 verse 8 but verse 9 is coming hey I said verse 9 is coming your verse 9 is coming should I believe listen why you are in trouble don't be looking for who can I get sympathy from believe God that verse 9 what's verse 9 what's verse 9 those of you who when you are who go when you go through problems and you are under pressure Sunday morning you are sitting at home so I want to be my my by myself because it's it's too much there's too much of my mind there's too much of my mind there's too much of my mind this emotional instability separate it from your approach towards God's Word love you when things are rough that's when you must be hungry for it you should be the first to show up in church because why because you must be the same man who had the same head the same your best age will not change to best then until you are the same person don't say go and pray for me in church my friend I yes I wish to live with somebody what would I

[19:15] I was living with I was sharing a two-bedroom so I I rented it from a guy it's an Irish guy and I was always praying and every Sunday sees me going to church I said I was he said I said let's go sir one day I'll go with you back say one for me that's the first time I had that phrase say one for me I was only what I see me I'm a result of one I'm praying for me you are sitting at home and you are telling them say one for me the same head for speak I can hear you louder the loudest the loudest the loudest so at least rather sat a sexy man they didn't mention his name because it's it can be anybody it can be you you can be there a certain needs anybody so thank God for a certain situation a certain person is here and you came here with a bedding on your heart a certain person is listening and watching and as you sit there and listen and watch it there's a bedding on your heart I'm glad you are the same person listening the same head Paul speak who does now the who is talking about Paul not the listener so as Paul was preaching he was watching the guy and he saw something

[21:02] I am preaching we are now in verse 9 some of you even though verse 9 you are still staying in verse 8 and as he was preaching the observers were listening but every time they saw you they saw that the guy was he has never walked he was looking at him he was preaching the guy got Paul's attention Paul had to leave the word and not address him because Paul watch this saw that the guy has collected something I am actually describing somebody in this video right here Paul saw he had faith to be healed he had it Paul didn't have it didn't say I was he saw that guy had faith to be healed all your life you have been this way now you have faith to be healed you have faith to receive a miracle you have faith to be set free you have faith to be saved

[22:08] I know somebody's destiny has changed forever Paul Paul Paul noticed that something was happening some of the other Pastor Philip was telling him this guy why is he behaving like that he said she said she remembered she has received a testimony before her eyes she said no no no it looks like he is responding to the word it looks like he has caught the word this guy said no no no they always do this oh these guys they are not serious look at him he is disturbing us so people were running commentary about him but Paul knew what was happening Paul saw that the guy has caught the word how come you have caught the word and you are so gentle How come you have a Stephen true in Jude watch this let me just explain something to you two things here

[23:22] Paul didn't see his caught the word he saw he had faith to be heal some translations the word healed to be saved as well he had faith. Where did he get it from? Because this man was hearing. So actually his hearing made him catch a word and the word he caught became the faith he had. And watch this. And the faith he had was not a silent faith. Something is happening. Something is happening. Something is happening. Something is happening. Something. They don't know why you keep shouting in church. They don't understand why you are so excited about Jesus. They don't understand why you keep jumping in church. They don't understand why you are coming to church. But leave them alone. You have caught the word. Your faith is growing. Your faith is rising.

[24:19] And your miracle is at the door. Your miracle is at the door. Around the corner. Receiving the door. Receiving them. Power is reaching. The guy has caught the word. Which is faith. Because the faith that acts.

[24:43] Action faith I'm talking about. In Latin it's called Fide Viva. Action faith. Action. It's not just passive. It's faith that has life. Faith that moves.

[24:59] Bible said in Luke chapter 7 verse 50. In Luke chapter 18 verse somewhere in the 40s. In Mark chapter 5 verse 34. In the book of Matthew chapter 9 verse 2. Matthew chapter 9 verse 22. Matthew chapter 9 verse 29. All this you saw that Jesus in actually in Matthew chapter 70 as well. You can see that Jesus saw their faith. So let's look at Matthew chapter 9 verse chapter 9 verse 2. Bible says that behold they brought to him a paralytic lie in the bed.

[25:47] When Jesus saw your faith. Oh. Oh okay. Okay. So he saw something. He saw something. You are saying I have faith. We will see it. And the same in verse 22. Look at verse 22. Verse 22 says that but when Jesus turned around and when she saw her he said be of good she a daughter.

[26:19] what has happened to you? What has happened to you? What did she do for Jesus to define her as faith? It was something she did. Jesus saw that this woman has faith. Oh look at Jesus.

[26:32] She came and was pressing for healing. Then Jesus turned to her and he says that daughter be of good she a daughter be of good she a your faith. So faith is an action actually. It's not an idea.

[26:46] Faith is an idea. Because if it was an idea there was no way Paul would have seen that he had faith to be healed. But because it's an action you can see it. Jesus saw. In fact in Matthew chapter 8 verse 10. Jesus said said I have never seen faith. He marveled and said I surely I have never found such great faith. What did the man do?

[27:15] He did something. He spoke to Jesus. He had interaction with Jesus. Jesus said ah this is faith. This is faith awake. In Mark chapter 10 verse 52. Jesus said to the man go in peace. Your faith has go your way. Your faith. What did he do for Jesus? No. Jesus is calling. So Jesus is calling it faith.

[27:39] People around will just see actions. But Jesus said this one is faith. Because this action is birthed by a belief in God's word. It's birthed by something they've heard. It's birthed. I'm telling you. Don't don't don't don't just copy people. Focus on catch a word and develop your faith. Because the fact that you are shouting Amen doesn't mean it is Amen. You might shout Amen and it doesn't mean anything. Somebody shouted Amen you also shouted Amen. But their own was a faith expression. An expression of faith.

[28:17] Shout I believe. In Luke 5 20. What does it say? In Luke 5 20. We see. Oh. Oh again.

[28:38] Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. That's talking about Jesus. He saw their faith. He saw their faith. You know what I like about Mark chapter 5 verse 34 was the fact that Jesus told the woman I like that one. Brothers and sisters. Jesus said God. Daughter. Your faith has made you well.

[29:02] Pastor. I've always read this. What goal my attention is your faith has made me. But as I prepared and prayed for today. I saw something I've never really seen.

[29:16] Alright. Go in peace. Somebody is living here and going in peace. Why? Because your faith has taken care of. Faith takes care of problems. Faith takes care of issues. Faith takes care of challenges.

[29:47] Jesus said. Jesus said. Go in peace. Your faith has taken care of the problem. Jesus said. Go in peace. Your faith has taken care of the problem. Somebody shout I believe. I believe. I believe.

[29:58] And that same thing I just was in the text and I came across where Hannah finished praying and Eli finished talking. And in that finished it verse 17 of 1 Samuel chapter 1. Finish it by saying.

[30:11] Ah. Go in. Someone say thank you Jesus. Thank you Jesus.

[30:23] God bless you God. The peace of God. From tonight. From tonight.

[30:36] Somebody's living here in peace. when there is a storm. You can sleep in their boat when there is a storm because you have caught the peace of God.

[30:51] Go in peace. Lystra. Lystra. Lystra. Lystra. Something is happening in Lystra.

[31:07] At Lystra, there is such a certain man. Yeah. There is a problem at Lystra. But thank God the word of God came to Lystra. Problem at Lystra.

[31:21] But the word of God came to Lystra. And when the word of God comes, faith rises. And when faith rises, you only go in peace.

[31:36] Because at Lystra, this man, Paul saw he had faith. So, sometimes, forget about the commentators.

[31:50] Because they have not caught the word you have caught. Don't judge them by just understanding. They are operating in a lower realm. You have moved on to a higher realm.

[32:01] They are traveling by train. You are traveling by a jet. It's different. It's different. They may not bother about their seat belt.

[32:13] But you for take off. You need your seat belt. And you arrive far ahead of Sheldon.

[32:23] Yes. The commentators will always be around. Yes. Because sometimes, you need commentators to actually comment on what is happening.

[32:40] Satan sometimes uses them on the day of Pentacles. People say, these guys were drunk. Acts chapter 2. From verse 10 down 1. They said, they were drunk.

[32:51] These guys are drunk. Yeah. They are full of new wine. But it wasn't new wine. It was actually, actually it's a new wine. It was.

[33:06] It's a new wine. So, sat at Lystra. Paul preached. Paul saw. He was hearing Paul speak.

[33:20] Paul saw he had faith to be healed. and Paul was preaching. He was preaching to everybody. Including the one. They are all in Lystra. God is of power.

[33:33] To establish you. According. He was preaching. He was saying. But these guys, some of them were just saying amen. But then he realized that this, this one. The same. This one.

[33:45] You know, Sanyo, they can afford not to catch faith. But you. With the kind of situation you are in. With the kind of challenge you are in. You better catch faith and buy the house.

[34:00] You better catch the word and escape from the woe. He was preaching. He saw that the guy had faith to be healed.

[34:10] Suddenly, he left everybody and zeroed in. Then he started, watch this, he started observing the guy as he was preaching.

[34:22] You know sometimes you are preaching but you say somebody. The same had faith to be healed. then Paul watching, observing steadfastly.

[34:35] Perceiving that I know you want me to pray for you but you have faith to be healed. No, no, it's a question. It's a question.

[34:47] Do you have faith to be healed? Do you have faith to be delivered? Do you have faith to catch a miracle? Do you have faith to return your story? Do you have faith to be set free?

[34:59] Do you have faith to be saved? If you have faith, it's going to happen for you. Ah, look at verse 10. So when he saw he had faith to be healed, Paul said with a loud voice, why is the pastor shouting, read your Bible?

[35:19] Okay, okay. Okay, okay, okay. I won't say read your Bible. Let me give you a Bible so I understand. Why is the pastor shouting? Because he has seen someone, observe someone has faith to be healed.

[35:33] I see they are all over this building. I can see from your reactions, from your behavior, I can see you are here. I know you are here.

[35:44] I know you are here. I know you are watching. I know you are watching. Hey, hey, you, you. Pastor, I know you are watching. Faith to break through. Faith to be healed.

[35:55] Oh! He had... Pastor, you see, action faith is particularized.

[36:15] What do you mean by that? If you need marital breakthrough, it must be a faith to be married. Yes.

[36:28] If you need financial breakthrough, it's not faith to be healed. We call you don't need healing. Uh-uh. That's right. It's faith to receive financial breakthrough. That's right.

[36:39] That's right. Everybody is breaking down your family. You are about to break through. Yeah! So shall it be!

[36:54] So shall it be! So shall it be! So shall it be! Let me round up. So, he saw the man had faith to be healed. What kind of faith are you developing at the moment?

[37:15] What kind of faith? Some of us is for healing. Some of you, you need to buy that house. You need to get that contract. Some of you, you need to win that court case.

[37:27] Some of you, you need to have your own child. Some of you, you need to pass that exam. Some of you, the ministry must blow up.

[37:47] So, when you come into such an atmosphere and you see the power of God working, you have to now release your faith for what you are believing God for. Amen.

[37:58] At Lystra, he was sick. So, he needed faith to be healed. He needed healing. So, his faith was faith to be healed. I see you have faith for church growth.

[38:11] Amen! Receive. Amen! Faith to be healed. Faith to receive. Faith to be lifted.

[38:23] Faith to break through. Faith for miracles. Faith to rise. Faith to pass your hands up. Faith for household testimony.

[38:35] Receive it now! Receive it now! Receive it now! Receive it now! I'm talking to you! Receive it now!
