God's Chosen Fast - Part I

[0:00] Welcome. Thank you for choosing to listen to another faith-building message by Pastor David Entry. Faith comes by hearing and by hearing the Word of God.

[0:12] May your knowledge of Jesus Christ increase as you listen. Be blessed. Glory to Jesus. The angel said to Daniel in Daniel chapter 10 from the very first day, Dear Daniel, Dear Daniel, it says that, Do not fear, Daniel, for from the very first day, from the very first day, from the very first day, from the very first day, the first day, what happens on the first day?

[0:52] It's such an important day. That is why your date of birth is always on your first day. Your date of birth is always on your first day, because what happens on the first day, it is necessary for the rest of your future.

[1:09] You can't reveal your identity without talking about your date of birth. In proper systems, when the first thing they want to know is your name, next is your date of birth, and sometimes even before your address.

[1:25] Place of birth is not as important as date of birth. Hey, place of birth is not as crucial as date of birth.

[1:35] They wouldn't ask for your place of birth without your date of birth. It's your date of birth that validates your place of birth. From the very first day, from the very first day, I believe, this evening, today, first of June, is somebody's date of birth.

[1:57] Oh, yeah. They will ask you, when did it happen? And you will know that this is the day it happened. Years ago, years ago, my friend, my very good friend, he got married.

[2:12] He didn't, he used not to live in London. And then, he came to visit, but the wife had, they had just gotten married, and the wife had moved to London, so the wife was living with the sisters.

[2:23] So, he too doesn't live here. So, the wife didn't have a place of her own. So, he came to visit in London. So, he was living with me and my friend. And, every, so he comes to live.

[2:35] And then, the first day, he was going to, his wife met him, at the point they came, spent some time, the wife went. So, then, he had to go to where the wife is, just to go and visit. So, he goes, sometime, late morning, and then spends the whole day, and then comes later.

[2:49] So, one day, I, he was, he had to go there somewhere, in another part of London, and he didn't know that, he was new in town.

[3:00] So, I escorted him, I took him, and then, this wife met us, at the train station, somewhere, where the wife lived. So, I returned. I saw the wife, so, hello, I'm happy to see you, because I know her already, and it's nice to see you.

[3:13] And then, and then, I left him. And then, fast forward, a few, several weeks, or a few months later, the wife was pregnant.

[3:27] And so, I was telling the wife, she was my girlfriend, I said, wow, God has visited you. But when the guy came, he doesn't really, he lived with me. So, I mean, how was he able to, was he email, or WhatsApp, I mean, or he sent it through Instagram.

[3:44] And the wife said something, and that thing stayed with me. He said, you see, the day I met you, I met you, that day, and everything.

[3:55] But I know he went several days. But the wife could tell me, it was this day. Because that day, I was surprised, that she could know, that it's this day. Because that day, was a unique day for her, and she knew.

[4:07] And there's somebody, listening to me, in a few months later, a few weeks later, somebody will ask you, and you will say, it is first June, 2021, that day, as pastor spoke, as we prayed, something changed, something broke.

[4:20] If you're the one, shut him in. Oh, I'm telling you, a lot of major, major victories ahead of you, will be traceable to, this fasting, and will be traceable to today.

[4:32] From the very first day. From the very first day. Don't waste your first day. Don't waste your first day. The first day is crucial. The first day.

[4:42] The first day. They normally talk about, first impression. Yeah. Your first date, you know, you were in your best. Your first date. Because it's very important.

[4:54] It's something, after you marry him, after you marry her, and you realize that, the first day really was, it really was not, the real thing. It wasn't the real deal. But it made a major difference. It made a major difference, in your deciding to go forward.

[5:08] Because the first day was good. So you thought you were going to have, many, many of those first days. But I'm telling you, I feel like preaching, you know. But I'm telling you, I'm telling you, if you can move by faith, in the spirit, you will have, this first day, will be replicated, in all the other days, for somebody.

[5:28] The first day. So, I'm happy, that God has given us, another opportunity. Last year by now, we were all, not sure.

[5:40] I mean, those of us in Christ, we were sure, that God, God told us, he's giving us safe passage. And he did. But we're not all, not sure, how things were going to turn out. We're not sure, when we are coming to, how is it going?

[5:53] But we still fasted. And this, God has taken us through. Some of you have had testimonies, some of, this, this, lockdown, there have been many marriages. Many marriages.

[6:04] And some of us, before the lockdown, we come out of the lockdown, even if we are coming out next week. But at the time we come out, some of you, your testimonies, has already landed. Yeah.

[6:14] There have been a lot, of lockdown babies. Yeah. Oh yeah. Many, many lockdown babies. Babies, you know, on all fronts. Lockdown, actual human babies, that have been conceived, during lockdown, lockdown, and have been born already.

[6:30] Some of you are listening to me, you have a lockdown baby in your hand. And, some too, are some unplanned, lockdown babies. And others too, Satan has also got babies.

[6:43] People have become, you were in church. Lockdown has made you, a Satan baby. Out of church, by that, ah, you are, a Satan's lockdown baby.

[6:57] Satan conceived you, during lockdown. And so, oh no, and such person, is not, is not here. But, some of you know, you know some lockdown, the babies that Satan has produced. Yeah.

[7:08] He, he moved your feet, out of the church. Ah, that's for me, now, this, I mean, even this church, I'm no more in church again. I just stay at home, and watch, everything. No, no, that's for the church, it's not for me, a lockdown baby, Satan's lockdown baby.

[7:19] Satan's lockdown baby. Some too have got lockdown, lockdown, um, babies in the form of new jobs. Yeah. Others too have bought their homes, it happened in the lockdown.

[7:30] Others too have got their potential wives, it happened in the lockdown. I don't know how you met them, whilst you're doing social distancing, you can stand at fire and see properly. I don't know about, you know, lockdown babies, lockdown babies.

[7:42] Others have got, finished their degree, lockdown babies. So, a lot of things have happened in this lockdown. But, what is about to happen in this fasting, is going to change a lot of people's story.

[7:53] If your own hasn't showed up, your positive baby hasn't showed up, a blessing hasn't showed up, this fasting, I'm telling you, we are going to believe God. I see your light dawning. I see your light dawning.

[8:05] I see your light dawning. I see your light dawning. Arise and shine, for your light has come. In the name of Jesus.

[8:17] I want to read something from Isaiah, chapter 58. I want to read from verse 6. It said, the Lord said, is not this the fast that I have chosen?

[8:28] Oh, that's interesting. If you have a Bible, and the Bible is yours, and you have opened to it, I think it would be good to underline the word chosen. Or the phrase, I have chosen.

[8:41] And that same phrase comes before, in the previous verse, chapter 5, verse 5. It says that, is such a fast, is it, is it such a fast that I have chosen?

[8:52] So that means, watch this, that means God chooses fasting. Yeah. He chooses, he said that, some people are doing their fasting in a certain way, and that's not the style of fasting I've chosen.

[9:04] So when you do it God's style, then it will produce God's results. So fasting is good. And I believe that, this is a fast that God has chosen to use, to turn your situation around.

[9:16] God chooses fast. He chooses fasting. He says, I'm choosing this fast to work. Hallelujah. So why don't you give him some fast? Join in the fasting. Because this might be the fasting, that God has chosen to change your story.

[9:28] Ah, I feel like preaching, you know. This is the fasting that I have chosen. Look at verse 6 again. Verse 6, Isaiah 53, 54, I'm sorry, 58, I'm sorry.

[9:39] It says that, is, is, is not this, the fast I have chosen? To lose the bounds of weakness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke.

[9:54] Because these are things that his people are supposed to do to other people. And because it's a reflection of what he's actually doing for his people. He is going to lose the bounds of wickedness.

[10:05] He's going to undo heavy burdens. Now, like Jesus said, when you pray, say, as we forgive, forgive us, as we forgive. Forgive us. So, God has forgiveness. But his forgiveness only kicks in when we forgive.

[10:19] So, you are not entitled to forgiveness until you give forgiveness to others. Our willingness to forgive others is what entitles us to forgiveness from God.

[10:30] In the same way, he says that, this is the fast that I have chosen to undo, to lose the bound of weakness, to undo heavy burdens. That means that, God is about to undo your heavy burdens, but you must also take the responsibility, undo the heavy burdens of others, and let the oppressed go free, that you break every yoke.

[10:53] That ye break every yoke. Because that's what God is about to do for you. Do you know what a yoke is? A yoke is something that has been imposed on you, and you are not free. It doesn't give you the freedom to operate the way you should operate.

[11:03] You are not free. You feel like something is sitting on your life, and it's forcing you in a certain direction, and it's harassing you, frustrating your life. It's a yoke! Isaiah chapter 57 verse, no, chapter 10 verse 57, sorry.

[11:19] Isaiah 27. Isaiah chapter 10 verse 27. Yeah, I think it says that, it shall come to pass, in that day, that's the day, the Lord has chosen the fast that we do, that his burden shall be taken off, from, it shall be taken away from, off thy shoulder, and his yoke, from, off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed, because of the anointing.

[11:46] Every yoke on your life, is going to be taken off your shoulder, and it shall be destroyed. The yoke shall be taken off your neck, the burden shall be taken off your shoulder, and the yoke shall not just be taken by, it shall be destroyed.

[11:57] Anything that is sitting on anybody's life, is sitting on your marriage, sitting on your family, sitting on your finances, sitting on your health, sitting on your, your, your, your career, sitting on your business, anything that is sitting on your life, I prophesy, as we brought into this season of fasting, I see the yoke being destroyed, I see the yoke being destroyed, I see the yoke being destroyed, in the name of Jesus, so shall it be, if you believe it, shout amen.

[12:26] So he says that, verse 7, Isaiah 58, verse 7, is it not to deal thy bread, to the hungry? So you are supposed to give to others, it's very important, somebody who is hungry, what a good time to do this, like the corona times, and that, you bring the poor, that are cast out to thy house, hospitality now, being nice to people, on, on, on Sunday, I'll talk about hospitality, when, when you see the naked, that you cover, you, you cover him, it's the time to also do some clothing shopping, for somebody, you bought and bought and bought and bought, and bought and bought, and bought, and bought, you go, you go and buy, um, some, uh, ASOS, is he a top designer or what?

[13:21] I don't even know, I just don't know, ASOS, someone tell me, it's a brand, or different brands, also there are different brands, okay, so you go to ASOS, and you buy, a Gucci for yourself, that's all you've been buying, and then when it's time to bless somebody, you go and buy Primark, from ASOS, you, you go and buy, the, the brand that doesn't have a name, but it's from Jin Shen, Jin Shen, Jin Shen, the one that after you, one wash, it is like, it has been, it has been put into the, a mill, a mill, after one wash, everything is, that's what you buy for somebody, but you, you buy, uh, uh, uh, Chanel for yourself, is it Chanel?

[14:18] Uh, Chanel or whatever, yeah, let me, let me, let me, let me, for yourself, and then you go and buy, uh, one shang, one shang, one shang for, and then when you buy it for them, you put, put a whole display around it for everybody to see you are buying something for somebody, you let people know that, you see me, I'm good, I'm good, let's see, that's not a kind of fast God has chosen, so this is the first thing, man, you got to do good to somebody, do good to somebody, bless somebody, huh, it goes with chosen fast, bless somebody, let somebody go, let him off the hook, I know he hurt you, I know he hurt you, what he did, but let him off the hook, let him off the, let her off the hook, you are fasting, you are fasting, you are fasting, but you still, will not let somebody, yeah, oh, when I get you, yeah, you,

[15:22] I will not let you, oh God, I believe you for a miracle, yeah, yeah, oh God, and you are holding somebody, you, you are holding somebody, and he said, this is not a kind of fast I have chosen, it's not a kind of fast I have chosen, hallelujah, hallelujah, so, that you should, um, do your bread to the poor, and, and, uh, to the hungry, and they bring, you go and bring the poor, and bless them, when you, when thou seest the naked, that you cover him, and that thou hide not thyself, from thy own flesh, sometimes, what it means is that, you are so soft on yourself, so things that you have to do, you are so sympathetic, so, you are considerate on your feelings, say sometimes, do what needs to be done, in spite of how you feel about things, don't be so soft on yourself, don't hide your flesh, don't hide yourself from your own flesh, but now look at, once this is in place, and you accompany your fasting, with some of these things, so,

[16:25] I think a year ago, no, a while ago, I announced that every time we are fasting, we have to do special offerings, and special goods, so we can give to people, we can go and bless people, help people, it goes with fasting, just that now, the coronavirus, so we can't do, food collection, and all that, it goes, we, you know, it's part of the, fasting God has to, God chooses fast, and when it's a God chosen fast, other people benefit from your fast, before you even start benefiting, because they see a physical direction, direct physical benefit, but then after, you have fasted, your fasting is, physical benefit for people, is part of your fasting, that's why, this, we just, we just give people opportunity, to give offering, there's a certain physical activities, faith actions, you have to take, in, as part of your fasting, one of the big things, that really, is good for fasting, is to undo, the burden of wickedness, someone has hurt you, and you have, it seems like, you are right, to be upset, you are right, to not forgive, no, you can't spiritually be right, not to forgive, but I guess you, it's like, there's a legitimate reason, why you, you should hold the grudge, but you know, undo the burden of wickedness, undo it, let the person go, take the burden of somebody, let them go, sometimes you can just say, oh that's okay, that's okay, you are feeling it, by saying, you know what, don't hide yourself, from your flesh, instead of, my God, oh God, oh God, my marriage, my marriage, my God, what, this Leroy did to me,

[18:01] God punish Leroy, God, my marriage, Leroy, Lord, kill him, Lord, he's my enemy, Lord, give me marriage, you see, you are delaying your marriage, you are delaying your, God will never answer that prayer, God will not, and Leroy has become your, your enemy, Leroy, hey Leroy, Leroy, oh Ray, Ray, Ray, what Ray did to me, what Ray did to me, what Ray did to me, oh that sham sham sister, what that sham sham sister, did to me, but you see, when you are able, to do the, the chosen fast, this is so good, I like this one, when you do the, the chosen fast, see the impact, verse 8, it says, then, everybody say then, I thought I heard you,

[19:03] I thought I heard you properly, then, that means, after this happens, this is going to be, an automatic reaction, or follow on to, what you have done, after you do this, as you engage in fasting, and do it right, okay, do it right, the chosen way, then, your light, shall, break forth, did you see that, can anybody develop, any technology, to stop morning, from coming, no, nobody can develop, any technology, to stop the evening, from coming, no, the morning, from coming, every year, there will be, every day, there will be morning, evening, morning, evening, no technology, can change that, no, it can, it's not within human ability, it's only God, who can just, suspend the evening, for a while, sometime ago, he suspended the evening, for 12 hours, and so the day, went and came, and met to the day, evening, it didn't come, the day stayed, yeah, it's only God, who can do that, so when the need be,

[20:11] God can stop, some stuff for you, but you can't stop the morning, the morning is coming, brothers and sisters, how many of you, are aware, tomorrow morning, is going to come, tomorrow, it's going to come, tomorrow morning, is going to come, it's coming, and it comes, it just comes, you can't stop it, it's coming, it says that your light, shall break forth, like the morning, nothing can stop it, oh, so when you, engage in fasting, then your light, no technology, no enemy, no hostile situation, can stop your morning, or your light, from breaking, when they say something, breaks forth, it's like, like the way, volcano erupts, volcanic eruption, it's usually, you don't know, it's there, it's there after a while, you can't stop it, it breaks forth, it breaks forth, like, you put a lot, you put water in balloon, it's there, and then you put, a pin, you punch it, it breaks forth,

[21:14] I'm, haven't you realized, I'm talking about, your light, the Bible says, your light will break forth, this month, your light will break forth, this month, your light will break forth, this month, your light, the light for your marriage, the light for your health, the light for your business, the light for your career, the light for your rising in greatness, I see your light breaking forth, and as though, that was, that was not enough, it's not only like, that breaks forth, A lot more other things.

[21:42] A lot other things happen. The other time when I was reading my Bible, I wrote about 12 different things that happened. Number one, your light will break forth. Number two, oh, hallelujah.

[21:55] Did you see that? Your health shall spring. Oh, so fasting can be a pathway to springing forth of health. What?

[22:07] It springs forth. Your health springs forth. How? Not with delay. Speedily. Speedily. Someone is receiving a miracle healing.

[22:18] Someone is receiving health miracle right now in the name of Jesus. Then shall your health spring forth speedily and your righteousness shall go before you.

[22:31] Can I explain what that means? You know, righteousness meaning doing right. You know, there are times you do right, but no one notices it. No one notices it.

[22:42] You have done everything right, but they didn't even notice it. They have given their focus to somebody else, or they have branded you with everybody because they didn't realize you were different. You have done right. How beautiful it is for you to be doing all this right, and those who matter notice you.

[22:58] Oh, this guy is doing something right. Let's help him. Let's help him. Let's give him the job. Let's give him the promotion. Let's give him the endorsement. He's doing something right. He's doing something right.

[23:09] Your rising shall not be obscured. That's what he means. He said that then your righteousness shall go before.

[23:20] Before they hear about you, before they see you, before they see you, they have seen your good works. Your good works have gone ahead advertising you.

[23:32] Oh! Oh! Before you meet the lady and say, I really want to, I'm considering, will you be my wife? She said, I've seen you in dreams.

[23:44] I've seen, I've dreamt, always dreamt about somebody like you. I knew this day was coming. I cannot say no. Yes, I will marry you. I will be your wife.

[23:56] The guy, the guy comes to you. He said, I don't know, what have you done to my mom? My mom keeps talking about you. I don't know who is going to tell her about you. But she's so excited about you.

[24:08] She likes you. There's one of our members who got married just about a month ago or two months ago or something like that. This brother has a lot of the, you know, usually in church, huh?

[24:20] In church, the sisters, the brothers tend to have more market. Yeah. Apart from the very lazy ones who don't have anything to show for. But then, generally speaking, hey!

[24:37] Generally speaking, when we come to church, the brothers tend to have more market. I was explaining it. It's because, it's like, four sisters, they set their eye on one guy.

[24:51] Yeah, it happens a lot. Isn't it also? Yeah. Some of you sisters, you know, you are timing somebody, you know this girl who also time, so you want to be first. Church sisters, usually they are like that. But, so, most of the time, most of the time, most of the time, are you listening to what I'm about to say?

[25:11] Most of the time, the value of the, because when there is short supply, shortage of supply, but great demand, the price tag goes high.

[25:24] So, there's a lot of brothers in church who church has given them high price tag. Because, but, they are actually, their price tag is higher than their original value.

[25:38] And sometimes, unfortunately, the brothers don't notice that. Many church brothers don't notice that. You see, sir, their sister likes you, but you, you don't have a proper job. You don't have a proper job.

[25:53] You don't have a good job. You, listen, you have not even, your qualification is very poor, sir. But, because of church, and the way you speak in tongues, and you love God, and the way you are preaching, you see, God's church points are not many.

[26:06] And so, you, we are, there are only a few, so you are looking very powerful. But the sister doesn't know she's in for a shock. So, my brother, when you find a sister in church, and you are talking to her for marriage and stuff like that, humble yourself.

[26:26] Don't treat her like you are favoring her. Don't make her feel like you are Prince William who has found Kate Middleton. You are not. You are not. Hallelujah!

[26:46] Oh, thank you, Jesus. And so, sometimes, your righteousness, sister, your righteousness will go ahead of you. Your righteousness, your righteousness will go.

[26:59] God will make your righteousness go ahead of you. I remember, when I was telling you this story, let me finish this. This church brother, this church brother, who, his value is so high, but me, I know, he's not, because when you are a pastor, you see, you know people.

[27:15] You know people, but a lot of other people don't know that, this guy. So, you see, because, when you marry a person, the way they look, the length of their beard, the size of their chest, all those things are not so relevant when you start a domestic life.

[27:40] But sometimes, what helps is the kind of job they do. That will determine where you'll be living and your living conditions. You can be speaking in tongues.

[27:55] And when you finish, they are waiting for the rent. So, brother, get a good job. Work on yourself if you just, make yourself a bit more employable.

[28:11] Don't make a keyboard your means of living. Please, that is too small. You can't take, you can't raise children on keyboard. Or bass guitar.

[28:28] Get a good job. Get a job. Alright, sorry guys. I think we should finish this. So, this guy told me later on that I'm getting married to this lady.

[28:45] And this lady is not a very sophisticated lady. So, I was wondering, wow, so why, why her? Because a lot of the sisters really will like you. And you know what he told me? He said, what's that?

[28:56] My, my mother doesn't live in this country. She called me. We were having a chat and she said, you know, that lady you took to that function because there were one or two family members who were at the function.

[29:08] They told the woman. The mother said, I want you to marry that lady. She's a good woman. What? See, this sister's righteousness has gone ahead of her. Gone.

[29:20] And as I speak, they are married. They are married. And I'm happy for her. I'm happy for her. Your righteousness will go ahead of you and they will give you their job.

[29:32] They will give you their admission. They will give you their placement. They will give you their house. Your righteousness will go ahead of you and you will be the preferred choice for that blessing, for that breakthrough, for that marriage.

[29:44] If you believe in the shout, yes, Lord. Is that your righteousness? Then your, your health will spring forth freely, freely. Thy righteousness will go before thee.

[29:57] Ah, look at the fourth thing that will happen. Ah, and the glory of the Lord shall be thy rare reward. Your real reward. Give me the new, the King James.

[30:07] Sorry, rare God. Rare God. And the NIV. I want the new. It's the same rare God. All right, give me the new living translation. It says that, and the glory of God will protect you from behind.

[30:21] Did you see that? Behind. So, behind you, God is taking care of what's going on behind your back. It's the glory. And watch this, watch this, watch this, this is amazing. Glory of God is, so after your righteousness has gone ahead of you, when you are not around, instead of people lambasting you and saying negative things that will discredit you, rather people will be praising you in your absence.

[30:45] The glory of God is covering your back. People rather see, oh, this guy is amazing. This guy, they only see glorious things about you. They don't see the mistakes and they don't, they only, because the glory of God is covering your back.

[30:58] The glory of God, I'm prophesying to somebody that the glory of God is about to cover your back. As your righteousness goes ahead of you, the glory of God will cover your back. It will be your rare reward.

[31:08] It will be your rare God. It will cover you from behind. It will cover you from behind. You don't have to be going and looking back. Is everything okay behind me? Is everything okay behind me? You don't need that.

[31:20] Why? Because the glory the glory, people will see the glory of God over you. When you are gone, they actually admire you more.

[31:31] In your absence, people will be admiring you more. They'll be speaking about well of you. Oh, wow. Actually, there's something that comes on them that makes them appreciate you more, even in your absence.

[31:43] because of the glory of God that is coming upon somebody, some company you have left which said, which made you redundant, are about to look for you again and call you.

[31:54] We need you. We haven't found anybody like you to employ. We really need you. The glory of God, the glory of God shall be your rare God. If you are the one I'm talking about, shout hallelujah.

[32:05] This is what the fasting can do for you. Don't let anyone talk you out and say, oh, this is religious. Yeah, you need spiritual activity to endorse or to procure certain spiritual weight of blessings.

[32:22] Spiritual depths, quality of opportunities in life. Opportunities that are not just mundane, that are not just superficial.

[32:33] It has spiritual spiritual weight behind it. Fasting makes a difference. And I see this fasting making a difference for somebody in Jesus' name. So, four things I've mentioned, I'll continue in our next session.

[32:49] So, the first one is your light shall break forth as the morning. Second one, your health shall spring forth speedily. Third one, your righteousness shall go before thee. And fourth one, the glory of the Lord shall be your rare God.

[33:04] rare reward. In Jesus' name, so shall it be. Amen. Hallelujah. If you believe that is what you are going to receive, shout hallelujah.
