Get Understanding

[0:20] Today in our readings, we found out that the Bible says that God, Jesus Christ, opened their understanding.

[0:31] He opened their understanding. There's 45. And He opened their understanding that they might comprehend the Scriptures.

[0:45] He opened their understanding that they might comprehend the Scriptures. I believe that that means if He opened their understanding, it is dangerous.

[0:59] You can be working in life with a close understanding. You are trying to build your family with a close understanding. You are trying to build your business with a close understanding.

[1:11] You are trying to build your health with a close understanding. You are trying to build your ministry with a close understanding. You are trying to work with God with a close understanding. You are trying to get ready for marriage with a close understanding.

[1:25] Close understanding is one of the most costly things in life. What you understand will determine how you will be outstanding.

[1:38] Your understanding determines how outstanding you will be. You can't shine. You can't stand out if you don't have understanding.

[1:51] So understanding makes you outstanding in life. Understanding makes you outstanding. I see someone becoming outstanding in the field of your endeavor.

[2:03] Understanding and astounding. It's all a function of understanding. So we want to believe God that God will grant you understanding.

[2:16] Stephen, sorry, Philip said to the Ethiopian eunuch, Acts chapter 8 verse 30, 31. Understand that what thou readeth.

[2:29] And do you understand what you're reading? Do you understand what you're reading? Do you understand what you're reading? Do you understand what is the most frustrating aspect of life?

[2:40] It's when you are well-meaning, well-intentioned, but low in understanding. So you'll be doing things with good heart, but you are getting bad results.

[2:51] You are treating your wife well, but she doesn't appreciate it because you are not using understanding. You are treating your husband well, but he doesn't appreciate it because of lack of understanding.

[3:04] You are trying to raise your children, but because you lack understanding, it's costing. You are trying to buy a house and you are wasting so much money because you lack understanding.

[3:14] You are trying to generate wealth, save money, to do some great things. But you don't know that there's a way to do some things where you are, where you live, the kind of profession you are in.

[3:29] There is a way to do things. And a lot of people know things, so they don't struggle like the way others struggle. Those who don't struggle much is because of what they know and what they understand. Jesus said, if I want to go far with you, I have to do something.

[3:45] I have to open your understanding. Open your understanding. It's like it is locked. When it comes to the things of God, your understanding must be opened.

[3:56] And when we are fasting, he says that when you fast, then your light shall break forth. Isaiah chapter 58. Then your light shall break forth as a noonday.

[4:10] Then your light, verse I think 8 or so, said, then your light shall break forth like the morning. Your healing shall spring forth speedily. And your righteousness shall go before you.

[4:22] Why? Because light has dawned. Healing is following. People are always thinking you are right. You are right. You are right. Whatever you do looks okay. Because your light has broken forth.

[4:34] And now the glory of the Lord shall be your rare God. When you are gone, God will also cover your back. God will be able to do everything you do is okay. I see you working in great levels of understanding in the mighty name of Jesus.

[4:48] When Paul was praying for the church in Ephesians chapter 1, one of the things is I pray that the Lord will grant you the spirit of wisdom and knowledge. Sorry. Wisdom and understanding.

[5:00] In the knowledge of revelation, the knowledge of him. That the eyes of your, oh, I see. Verse 18. That the eyes, oh. The eyes, oh, oh, oh. So you see, your understanding has eyes.

[5:12] And if your understanding is not opened, the eyes of your understanding are closed. The eyes of your understanding.

[5:23] Understanding. One of the things you should be praying more for is more understanding more than marriage. It's your understanding that determines the quality of your marriage.

[5:36] Your understanding determines the quality of your life. Even the quality of your prayer is at the mercy of your understanding. I see God moving you to a higher level of understanding.

[5:51] There is something you should pray for every time. It's God, grant me wisdom. Grant me understanding. Grant me wisdom. Grant me understanding. Grant me wisdom. If wisdom and understanding brings favor.

[6:04] And he opened their understanding. Another way of putting it is. And their eyes were opened. In the verse 31 and 32. Luke chapter 24. And their eyes were opened.

[6:15] And they knew that. They knew it was him. Then as soon as they got the bread, their eyes were opened. And they knew him. They knew him. Another way of understanding being open.

[6:27] And it's interesting. Do you know how Bible puts it in Proverbs chapter 4? Proverbs chapter 4 elevates understanding. Look at verse 5 and verse 7. Proverbs chapter 4.

[6:38] It said, get wisdom. Get understanding. Do not forget. Do not forget nor turn away from the words of my mouth. Get understanding.

[6:51] Just sometimes don't be in a rush. Get understanding. Why is it that people are paid more who have a certain level of natural understanding?

[7:04] So long as. So if it's a specialist. IT specialist. Or some specialist. Or consultant. It's how he understands the subjects. And able to produce results.

[7:16] That is what determines their value and their pay. So even in the field. Even in the field of. Even in the field of.

[7:27] Ministry. Or in the field of normal natural life. You need understanding. You need understanding. Look at verse 7.

[7:37] Proverbs chapter 4. Verse 7. If it's anything I need more. It's understanding. Proverbs chapter 4. Verse 7. It said. Wisdom is a. Do you know what it means for something to be principal?

[7:49] It's the chief thing. It's above everything. It's chief. Wisdom is the chief thing. Did you understand? Wisdom is the chief thing. So it says that.

[8:01] Wisdom is the principal thing. Therefore. Get. Ah. Get wisdom. And in all you're getting. You have shoes.

[8:12] You have wigs. You have suits. You have cars. You have credit cards. But you don't have understanding. You are immersing a lot of things.

[8:26] Please. He said. In everything you are getting in life. Go for understanding. What? In all you're getting. Get understanding. That's it.

[8:37] He said. In all you're getting. Get under. Wisdom is a primary thing. It's a principal thing. Therefore. Get wisdom. And in all you're getting.

[8:50] This is a very strong scripture. Whatever you are trying to get in life. Understanding is the most important thing. You want to get good marriage. Get understanding about good marriage. You want to do well in ministry.

[9:01] Get understanding about ministry. You want to do well in your spiritual life. Get understanding about how spiritual things work. You want to do well in your finances. Get understanding about how to handle money.

[9:12] Money is not for spending. Money is for investment. And then the benefits that come on investment. You begin to spend that one. You don't eat your capital.

[9:24] You pay salaries from profit. Not from capital. Hallelujah. So if you want to do a business. In all you're getting. In this business you are trying to do.

[9:36] Whatever you need for the business. I know you need capital. But you need understanding. You need understanding. So you can be well dressed as a lady. But because you lack understanding.

[9:47] You lack discretion. Things are not working for you. You can be well dressed as a woman. You can be well behaved or as a man.

[9:58] But if you lack understanding. Of how to do things. You will miss it. You will miss it. But. My brothers and sisters. Years ago.

[10:08] About 30 years ago. When I got born again. I don't know. It's potentially because of my teachers. I read proverbs. And read proverbs. Because I said I wanted wisdom.

[10:20] And understanding. In my life. I. It's later I realized. I actually started. Looking for understanding. And wisdom. Before I started looking for anointing.

[10:30] Not because. Well. One is more important. But it's because. Just for some reason. Because if you don't get wisdom. People will always have an upper hand over your life.

[10:41] After you have gone to miss your opportunity. Then you say. Oh no. I should have. Ah. Ah. When will you say. Ah. Yes. I got it right. Yes. I got it right. Yes.

[10:51] I got it right. And every day. Ah. No. Ah. No. Ah. No. In all you're getting. Get understanding. Get understanding.

[11:03] Even in times of pain. When people have done things to hurt you. When you have understanding. You have. You have an upper hand. Yes. Yes. Yes.

[11:14] When you have understanding. You don't even treat. People who have hurt you. Like. Like the way you feel like. No. You are strategic. You are wise. In the way you do things.

[11:25] Listen. Look at the next verse. From Proverbs chapter 4. Verse 7 says that. In all you're getting. Get understanding. Look at verse 8. Verse 8 says that. Exhort her understanding. Not that. Exhort understanding.

[11:36] And she will promote. Hey. Ah. She will bring you honor. Oh. When you embrace her. Wow. Ah.

[11:48] Understanding. Then I have to. Invest everything in my life. For understanding. One of the key things. I need to get. Is understanding. If you have understanding. And you want to do ministry. When you start ministry.

[11:59] And you have understanding. You will know that. You need anointing. Understanding will tell you. Go for anointing. Understanding will tell you. Go for favor. Understanding will tell you. Submit yourself to someone. Who is carrying the grace.

[12:10] Understanding will tell you. Work with people in this way. Understanding will promote you. Understanding will promote you. In all you're getting. Get understanding.

[12:21] She will promote you. She will bring you honor. Understanding is a very good man. Understanding is a very good.

[12:31] It's very good for everybody. Understanding is good. He says that. Understanding. If you go for understanding. He will bring you honor. He will bring you promotion.

[12:42] If you. See. She said. Exalt. You make understanding. Very big thing in your life. He said. Understanding yourself. Will bring you promotion. He will promote you. He will bring you honor.

[12:53] Proverbs chapter 8 verse 14. Counsel is mine. And sound wisdom. I am understanding. I have strength.

[13:05] Did you hear that? He said. I am understanding. I have strength. Counsel. When I give you counsel. You are. Right. When you say counsel. That means that.

[13:16] How to know what to do. Is mine. Understanding says it's mine. Sound wisdom. Understanding says it's mine. He said. I am understanding. Can you imagine? Understanding is talking to you.

[13:26] He said. I am understanding. I have strength. If you have understanding. You are a very powerful person. You will not lack understanding in life. You will not lack understanding in life. 30 years ago.

[13:37] When I got born again. I was praying for understanding. I read Proverbs. I pray God. Give me wisdom. Give me understanding. And I read Job. And somewhere in Job chapter.

[13:49] 30. Mid 30s. Mid 36. 37. 38. He says that. I think from 38 and 39. Something like. He said. He says that. They look for understanding everywhere.

[14:00] They don't find it. And he said. Understanding is with God. He said. Understanding is with God. He says that. Who shows the light and where to pass?

[14:11] You can't look at things and just understand it. You can't look at. When you look at. The way things work in the world. You can't look. Sometimes look at it. And it baffles your mind. Life is very complex.

[14:22] And he says that. You want to understand it. He said. You go to the heavens. You will find it. You go down. You try and do research. You will find it. He said. Understanding is with God. Now. Proverbs chapter.

[14:33] As I said. Proverbs chapter. 8. Verse 14. He said. I am understanding. Strength is mine. And. The next verse. Look at verse 15.

[14:44] Are you ready for this? Look at verse 15. Hey. Look at verse 15. By me. Kings reign. And rulers decree. By me. Me. They need me to reign.

[14:55] Sister. Brother. He said. Kings reign by understanding. And you. Boy. You need understanding to even thrive. The greatest things.

[15:07] Understanding. Even kings need it. How much more you and I. And when you have understanding. You operate in realms that kings operate in. He said. By me.

[15:18] Kings reign. By me. So. Does that make sense? Bible says. And Jesus. Opened the. Ah. Hallelujah. And Jesus.

[15:29] Opened. He. Opened the understanding. That they might. Understand the scriptures. Because if it's not open. You will not get it. Paul said. I pray. That God will give you.

[15:40] The wisdom. The spirit of wisdom. And revelation. And knowledge of him. That the eyes of your understanding. Being enlightened. Something has changed. Something has changed.

[15:51] Solomon. Solomon. Solomon. Solomon. In first kings. Chapter three. Solomon. Went to God.

[16:02] And offered sacrifices. And the Bible says. The Lord came to Solomon. That night. First kings. Chapter three. Verse five. And in Gibeon. The Lord appeared to Solomon.

[16:13] And he said. He said. He said to Solomon. He said. Solo. Solo. He said. Yes. Yes. Lord. Solo. Yes. Lord. God said. Ask what. I shall give you. Because. This sacrifice you have done.

[16:25] You have touched my heart. He gave. Thousand better. Sacrifices. And God was. Moved. Said. This guy. He said.

[16:35] I can't stay here. That night. The smoke. The smell of the smoke. Moved God from upstairs. And came down. That night. God appeared to Solomon. His sacrifices make a difference. Man. That night.

[16:46] God appeared to Solomon. In Gibeon. By night. And the Lord said. Ask me. What should I do for you? And obviously. If God. Right now. God asks you. What do you want? Some of us.

[16:57] The first thing we say. I want a very handsome husband. I don't know. Smart at all. I want a very beautiful wife. That's not wise at all. Give me. A lot of money.

[17:07] That's not wise at all. God. Give me. Houses. I want to. I want to own. Seven. Five bedroom houses. I want to. That's not smart at all.

[17:19] When God. Solomon. Solomon. God said. Ask me what I would do. And Solomon said. God. I'm a child. Your people are mighty. And you have made me a king.

[17:31] Instead of my father. You are my father. He started talking about history. History. And then verse 9. He said. Give therefore thy servant. That's his question. The request. So. Therefore. Give me your servant.

[17:44] And. Ah. Did you see that? Give me an understanding heart. To judge your people. This job I'm doing. By me. King's reign. And for me to do well.

[17:54] God. There's only one thing I ask for. Understand it. In fasting. Hallelujah. He said. Then your light.

[18:05] Shall break forth. Like the morning. Then your. No. Nothing. No technology. Can stop the morning. From coming. Your light. In other words.

[18:15] Nothing. He said. Then your light. Shall break forth. Then your light. Shall break forth. Break forth. Like the morning. Nothing stops the morning. So nothing will stop you.

[18:26] From shining. When. You begin to. Operate. In the levels. That God is. Taking us to. That's when the glory of God. Becomes your. Automatic. Automatic.

[18:37] An automatic product. In your life. I see you moving. From grace to grace. Well. Let's finish it. And. Bible verse 10 says that. End the speech. Please the Lord.

[18:48] That Solomon. Has asked. This thing. You see. There are some things. When you ask. God is happy. Has asked. This thing. And God said. Because thou hast not asked for money. And thou hast not asked for things.

[19:00] Because thou hast. Act this thing. And hast not asked for thyself. Long life. Neither. Nor asked for. Ask. For riches. That's things.

[19:11] For thyself. Has. Now have. Has asked for life. The life of your enemies. But has asked. For thyself. Understanding. To discern judgment. God said. Behold.

[19:21] I. I have done. According to your ways. No. I have also given you. A wise. And understanding heart. So that there will be none. Like thee. Before thee.

[19:32] Neither after thee. Shall any. Any arise. Like unto thee. And I have. Also given thee. That. Which thou hast not asked. Both. Riches. And honor.

[19:42] Because. Understanding. Comes with riches. And honor. Anyway. So that there shall not be any. Among the kings. Like unto thee. All your days.

[19:52] Why? He simply. Gave sacrifice. And when God said. Tell me what I want. What you want. He could have said. Give me money. And let me be more powerful. Than my enemies. He didn't have time for that.

[20:03] He said. Give me understanding. So I can do your work. So my son. I can face my task. And do it well. And accomplish my destiny. Give me understanding. Give me understanding. Thank you for listening.
