Description

What you do not pray for, you are not entitled to enjoy. Because of this, as a believer, it is important that you consistently ask God to lead you and guide you. Whether this is in good times or bad times, ask God for guidance on what you should do.

[0:00] Welcome. Thank you for choosing to listen to another faith-building message by Pastor David Entry. Faith comes by hearing and by hearing the Word of God.

[0:12] May your knowledge of Jesus Christ increase as you listen. Be blessed. In the book of, I think, Genesis 37, it was about Joseph and his brothers.

[0:25] It says, The dreamer is coming. This is the one we don't like.

[1:00] Come, therefore, let us slay him and cast him into some pits. And we will say some evil beast has devoured him. And we shall see what will become of his dreams.

[1:15] Your progress is annoying some people. The fact that things are working for you is actually bad use for somebody.

[1:26] Don't be deceived to think that everybody is happy for your progress. Everybody is happy you are now doing well as a Christian. Everybody is happy you are about to marry.

[1:38] Everybody is happy you are pregnant. No. Don't be deceived to think that everybody can be happy for you. Some people, your progress makes them look like failures.

[1:50] So they are not happy you are progressing so you can stay at their level. When they saw him afar off, they said, here comes the dreamer. And before he got to them, they conspired to kill him.

[2:05] He didn't know they were conspiring to kill him. Is it possible that the one you are always talking to on the phone and sharing your breakthroughs with is the one who is conspiring to kill him? Wow. Is it possible that the one you once one day said, I can't do anything without you?

[2:21] You are my wealth. I love you. We are BFF. Wow, wow. Is it possible that they are the ones? Wow. 1 Samuel 23 verse 9.

[2:34] Interesting text. It says that, and David knew that Saul secretly practiced this chief against him. And he said to Abath, bring me hither the effort.

[2:48] David knew that Saul, the king, was planning secretly against him. What did David ask? He didn't ask for lawyers or security agents.

[3:01] He asked, forgive me. The effort is what they used to go into the presence of God, to seek the face of God. I'm going to use the fasting as our effort.

[3:11] Give me the effort so I can go before God because my enemy is plotting against me. Lord, give me the effort. He said, Abath the priest. Pastor, so I'm Abath.

[3:23] You are David. Ask for the effort. Pastor, lead me into prayer. Lead me into the presence of God. That's what it means. David said to Abath the priest, please just bring me the effort so I can go into the presence of God and seek redress.

[3:41] Let me show you another scripture. In the book of Psalm. Psalm 57 verse 6. It says that they have prepared a net for my steps.

[3:53] Hey! A net. My soul is bowed down. It's like I'm even troubled. I'm worried. They have digged a pit for me into the mist thereof they are falling themselves.

[4:08] Now that's a prayer topic. Anybody who digs a pit for you, oh Lord, deliver me and let them fall into it themselves.

[4:20] Amen. The woman who was caught in adultery in John chapter 8 from verse 5 and 6. They brought her, not because they were looking for justice.

[4:31] They brought her to trap Jesus to see what he was saying. So they've always been around. Enemies that will seek to trap you. They will conspire against you. They will team up with the others they know they don't like.

[4:43] Like, why? This happens normally. When somebody, you fall out with a friend, then they're going to befriend the other one who you fell out with.

[4:54] Then they will take selfies and put you on social media. Oh! Right! So this guy is going to befriend my ex. Despite you. So we want to pray. That Lord, let me not fall into the trap of my enemies.

[5:09] Say, Lord, help me. Where you know you went wrong, believe God for mercy. And anytime you are asking God for mercy, remember, you are saying that, God, I'm also willing to show mercy.

[5:23] Show mercy. Yes. When you are asking God, God, I know I went wrong. Forgive me. You are willing to also forgive the one who also went wrong against you. Because your own is forgiven.

[5:34] Now, Matthew chapter 18, they forgive him his own. But he went and threw the one who was going into prison. The master will bring him back. Throw him also into prison. So, for God to be able to forgive us, for God to be able to show us mercy, we must be willing to forgive others or we must be willing to show mercy.

[5:54] Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. Bless you. Amen. Yeah, it's in the Bible. Very clear. Matthew chapter 5. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.

[6:06] Amen. Amen. So, anytime you are asking for mercy, what you are saying is, Lord, I'm ready to show mercy. I want to pray that, Lord, have mercy on me, even where I've been wrong, where I've done things I shouldn't have done, said things I shouldn't have said.

[6:22] Lord, have mercy on me. Overtend the tables that the enemy wants to use against me. Prayer, everybody must always pray. Lord, lead me in the paths of righteousness.

[6:36] Lead me in the right paths. So, I don't go where I'm not supposed to go. I don't say what I'm not supposed to say. I don't see what I'm not supposed to see.

[6:47] I don't hear what I'm not supposed to hear. And I don't do what I'm not supposed to do. Lead me, Lord. He said, when the spirit of truth has come, John chapter 16, verse 13, he will guide you into the truth.

[7:00] Ah, he will guide you. He said, he will teach you of what is to come. He will take what is mine and give to you. We want to pray, the Lord, guide me.

[7:11] Some of us are about to make decisions very soon about jobs, about whether to even sign that contract for the house or for the phone.

[7:22] But when the Lord leads you, Bible says in Psalm 37, verse 23, he said, the steps of the good man are ordered by the Lord. You are going to pick a bus.

[7:33] But for some reason, you chose to go for Uber. Or you are going for an Uber. For some reason, you always go for Uber. But for some reason, that day you decided, let me just jump on the bus. Not knowing that Uber that was coming would have hit you.

[7:46] So God, lead me. Lord, guide me and lead me. Guide me into the truth. Guide me into the decisions I have to make. Guide me into where I have to go.

[7:57] Guide me away from trouble. Guide me away from traps. Guide me. Guide me. You are about to make a decision about your career. About to make a decision about your studies. About to make a decision about your marriage.

[8:08] Many people are going to make major decisions. Why won't we pray that God lead me? Yeah. Yes. Yes. I'm about to make. Whether in good times or bad times, Lord, lead me.

[8:21] Don't forget this scripture. The steps of the good man. The steps of the righteous. Psalm 37, verse 23. The steps of the righteous are ordered.

[8:32] God will order your steps. What you don't pray about, what you don't pray for, you can't properly enjoy. Don't expect from God what you haven't prayed about.

[8:45] God, guide me. Help me to be sensitive to your promptings. Some of us, our problem is there's cock. You know cock, the one they used to cover the chakras? There's cock.

[8:56] There's cock in your ears. Some of us, our ears are blocked. You want to say, God, any cock, spiritual cock in my ear, I remove it so I can hear your voice. I can hear your voice.

[9:07] I've used a few scriptures, but two key ones. Psalm 37 verse 23. Please, always pray that prayer, okay? Order my steps.

[9:18] And there's another one I taught us to pray, Psalm 90 verse 12. Teach me to number my days so I can apply my heart of wisdom because you may think you have time, but I actually don't have time.

[9:30] You may think, oh, it's okay, I'll wait. No. So we have to always pray that God, teach me so I can apply my heart onto wisdom. That other scripture, so the first one I mentioned is Psalm 37 verse 23.

[9:44] The other one I want us to always use to pray is Psalm 124 verse 7. It says that, Our souls have escaped out of the snare of the fowler.

[9:54] The snare is broken. The snare is broken. The snare is broken. Verse 8. Our help is in the name of the Lord. You will not fall into the trap that will damage you. Amen. These are two scriptures I want you to remember.

[10:08] Psalm 124 verse 7 and Psalm 37 verse 23. Order my steps. Psalm 124 says that, The snare is broken.

[10:20] Our souls have escaped. Your soul will escape from the trap in the name of Jesus. We read in Philippians chapter 3 and the verse 3 says that, We have no confidence in the flesh.

[10:32] Please, don't put your confidence in your education, in your contacts, in your job, in your house, in your beauty. Put your confidence in the Lord.

[10:43] That is what will guarantee your future. Amen. Amen. Amen. Thank you for listening. To hear more from David Entry, follow him on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
