In your pursuit of God, there will be times when you receive demonic reactions from others. However, you should not be discouraged by these, rather continue to push, because once you begin to experience such reactions you can be sure something is working for you. This is the dislodging of spiritual entities from your life.
[0:00] Welcome. Thank you for choosing to listen to another faith-building message by Pastor David Entry. Faith comes by hearing and by hearing the Word of God.
[0:12] May your knowledge of Jesus Christ increase as you listen. Be blessed. Philippians started by Revelation.
[0:23] The book of Philippians was written because of the church of Philippi. And the church of Philippi was mourned by revelation and suffering.
[0:44] They were in Acts chapter 16 from 6. They wanted to go and preach in the regions of Bithynia, but the Holy Spirit did not permit them.
[0:58] The Bible says that. Now, when they had gone through Phrygia, the regions of Galicia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the Word in Asia, can you imagine?
[1:12] The Holy Ghost said, no, you are forbidden. You are not allowed to preach here. Meanwhile, when Jesus wrote a letter from heaven, he wrote it to the churches of Asia.
[1:24] So it didn't mean God didn't have a plan for the churches to do a great work in Asia. But that was not the time. They were getting Asia-Asia minded.
[1:35] They said, no, don't preach the Word in Asia. Because one day, Caris will be reading the book of Philippians. So the Bible says, after we had come to Misia, they are safe.
[1:49] They tried to go to Bithynia. Bithynia is in Misia. But the Spirit suffered their knowledge. The Holy Spirit is not allowing us to. In Asia, when we were trying to.
[2:02] In the regions of Phrygia, in Galicia, he said no. Now, when we came to Misia, we were trying to preach in Bithynia. The Spirit of God said no. So what's going on?
[2:13] And the day passing by Misia, they came to Troas. Now, and when they were in Troas, a vision appeared to Paul at night.
[2:24] There stood a man of Macedonia and prayed him, saying, come to Macedonia and help us. There was a man. And so one of the things you have to understand in Bible studies is that in the realm of the Spirit, cities are represented by personalities.
[2:42] So cities are persons. And there are powers that govern cities. There are powers and forces that govern every city.
[2:53] And they are accountable to the force that govern the nations. You remember when Jesus went and delivered the madman of Gadara?
[3:04] That was God himself. He said, when Jesus delivered him from the devils and the demons entered the pigs, they didn't leave. They went to the pigs straight into the water. Water bodies.
[3:15] It was like hiding in water bodies. So when Jesus cast out those demons, they went into pigs. And the pigs started behaving differently. They started screaming.
[3:28] So you see, sometimes when people behave in a certain way, don't be quick to judge them. Sometimes there are demons that have entered them. Demons can hijack people, hijack animals, and cause them to do their will.
[3:44] So in fact, the Bible says that Satan has taken them captive to do his will. In 2 Timothy 2, verse 26. Satan hijack people to do his will.
[3:58] Back to the point I'm making. So when Jesus cast out those devils, they didn't leave the territory. They went into the water. And then those who are taking care of the pigs, the pig farmers, they saw water sapping.
[4:10] They said, what? The madman is free now. They went to town and told the people. And the town people came. And when they saw the madman who was a terror, everybody was afraid of the man.
[4:22] Chains couldn't bind him. He would tear chains. Can you imagine? You put him in shackles and you break the shackles. This madman was sitting nice and listening to Jesus.
[4:33] And hello, hi. They were so scared. You know what they said to their man. They told Jesus, please leave here. Leave us alone and go. Leave us alone and go. And remember what the demons told Jesus.
[4:45] They said, please, don't cast us out of this area. Keep us in here. Don't let us go out of the area. Because demons are territorial. They are family demons.
[4:58] Wow. They are determined never to leave. So now that you are pushing and you are beginning to threaten them, no wonder they are putting pressure and discouraging you. And you too, suddenly you are feeling so much pressure.
[5:10] You want to bring peace in your family. So you want to abandon the pursuit of Jesus and you go back and fishing. Wow. Because the pressure that is coming and the challenge, it doesn't make sense.
[5:21] You are wondering, how come? Suddenly, it doesn't make so much sense. Maybe demonic reaction. Yep. This past thing we are doing. Don't be surprised when there is a demonic reaction.
[5:32] Some of you, you will see attacks on social media. It's a demonic reaction. Stay focused. Stay focused. Keep doing what you are doing.
[5:42] Keep going. Don't be surprised at the demonic reaction. Some of you, your family members, go on your social media platform and go and attack you. And why are you putting pictures like this?
[5:54] Why are you doing this? And why are you? Some of you even have attacks. Why are you fasting? Why are you used to smoke weed? Why are you talking? Yes. It was right. Why are you used to smoke weed every night?
[6:07] Bringing different girls into your house or different things. Why are you stressing up? It was okay. Now you are fasting and praying. It has started the third world war in your house. Don't think it's your mom. Don't think it's your dad or your sister or your husband or your wife.
[6:22] There is a demonic reaction behind you. So once you see that, you must know, oh, the thing is working. The thing is working. And just stay there. You are dislodging demonic entities from you.
[6:32] Amen. Amen. So they wanted to go to Galatia. They didn't get to preach the gospel in Galatia. And so they wanted to go to, to go and preach in Mesia.
[6:46] That one, the Holy Spirit also didn't allow them. And then at night, Bible says, Paul saw a vision. That's nine. And a vision appeared to Paul at night.
[6:57] There stood a man of Macedonia and prayed him, saying, come over to Macedonia and help us. Who is this man? Not a human being.
[7:10] Macedonia was represented by a personality. Their place was thirsty and hungry for the work of God. So he said, come over to Macedonia and help us.
[7:22] Verse 10. After he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavored to go to Macedonia. Assuredly, the Lord had called us to preach the gospel unto them.
[7:32] Therefore, losing from to us, we came with a straight course to Sumatres and the next day to Neapolis. From there, we watched this, from there, where?
[7:43] To Philippi, which is a chief city of the part of Macedonia and a colony. And we were in that city abiding certain days.
[7:54] So they went straight to Philippi. And Philippi is one of the prominent cities in Macedonia. That's how we come, we got this book of Philippians. And when they arrived there, they met some ladies.
[8:09] Ladies are always important in the work of God. They met some ladies. And one of them was Lydia. That was a God opened the heart of Lydia. And Lydia received the word.
[8:21] And they lived in Lydia's house. And they were going to prayer. Every day they were praying. That's why prayer, just keep praying. You may not see things, but things are dislodging and changing the spirit. One day when they were going to pray, verse 17.
[8:34] The Bible says that there was a young girl who had this spirit of divination. That was the spirit that was controlling the place. That was that spirit.
[8:45] And the spirit of divination. And then when they were passing, this young girl started saying, these are the men of God. They are sent to tell us good words.
[8:57] Listen to them. Was what she was saying wrong? No. She wasn't saying something wrong. She had the wrong spirit. You know that guy who is telling you, oh, as for the church, it's a nice church.
[9:08] You know, they are saying nice things, but you know their spirit is negative about the work of God. You know their spirit is negative. See, it's not the nice thing they are saying, but it's the content of their spirit that makes the difference.
[9:22] They are saying something. They are befriending people who are saying all the right words, but you know that their spirits are not right. The Bible said, Paul has had enough of this.
[9:36] He wasn't doing it one day. There's always a time to react. Wow. One day, Paul said, I command this devil. I believe that day is after they have prayed a lot.
[9:48] It's right. You don't confront entities prayerlessly. The things that you are fighting with, this marital thing that is fighting, you can see the trend.
[9:59] What happened to your mom and what happened to your dad? The same thing is happening to you. What happened to your cousin, your brothers? It's running through the family. This career issue, this status issue, they dropped out.
[10:11] When they were in their last year, they started having mental challenges. They dropped out. You two are about to get to your last year. Suddenly, you've been feeling uncomfortable. It's like stress and you feel like give up.
[10:22] Ah, it's a spirit. The spirit that jumped on your mother is coming on you. Wow. Same spirit. Your mother was 17 when she had you. Why is it that now that you are 17, you are getting every attention.
[10:34] Everybody wants to even buy a car for you. Just so they can have a piece of your flesh. Same spirit. It's the same spirit. This pastor is dislodging spirits.
[10:48] The love is dislodged prayerlessly. So Paul said, I command you, come out. And the spirit left the woman. Then there was a public outcry.
[11:02] They haven't done anything. Just cast the devil. There was a public outcry. Immediately, those in the commercial sector teamed up with those in the judiciary. The judiciary.
[11:13] And they teamed up with those in government. The legislature, judiciary, and commercial authorities. They teamed up. They arrested them. They threw them to court that same night.
[11:25] They said, throw them into prison. And then they whipped them. There were so much wounds on their body for casting out the devil. They beat them. Beat them.
[11:35] Threw them into the jail. And they said, lock them up. Make sure they don't escape. So tomorrow morning we deal with their case. And they locked them up. But at midnight, verse 25, Paul and Silas began to sing praises to God.
[11:50] You see, you are saying, if God has sent me, why am I going through all this? No, no, no, no, no, no. That's why Philippians chapter 1, Paul said, I'm happy that these problems I'm going through has turned out for the federation of the gospel.
[12:02] Yes, yes. When you are doing what is right in the sight of God, don't be distracted by the challenges you go through. Amen. Just stay focused and do what is right.
[12:13] Stay focused and do what is right. Stay focused and do what is right. Stay focused and do what is right. Those want to leave you, let them leave you. Those want to unfriend you, let them unfriend you. Actually, you don't need them.
[12:25] God is too wise to tie your future to somebody who will leave you. Amen. Let them go. Stay with God. Stay on course. Some of us must start rejoicing because some people have left you.
[12:37] Yes, yes, yes, yes. It comes from separation. Some people, when they leave you, you will feel it emotionally. But that is when you should know, for me to leave is Christ, to die is gain. I'm thankful to God.
[12:48] Yes. I'm going to do this because I'm doing what is right in the sight of God. They were whipped, beaten, put in prison. But at midnight, Paul and Silas praised God and sang praises unto God.
[13:01] And guess what? The whole prison foundation was shaking. Wow. What did it happen when they were being whipped? No, see, don't show God when to move. Trust him and keep moving in him.
[13:13] Wow. Trust him. Look unto God at all his works from the foundation. The Bible says that, and all the chains fell off. God can sort the chains out. Amen.
[13:25] Amen. And the jailer, when he came, he saw the earthquake has happened. The door is open. The prison doors are open. He knew that all the prisoners had escaped.
[13:35] You call it police inside. They had escaped. When the prisoners escape from your hands, you will be killed. You will be tortured and executed. So instead of him being tortured, he said, let me kill myself.
[13:46] So he took the sword and was about to kill himself. And Paul shouted, don't do yourself, Ham. We are here. We are watching you. We are all here. None of us have escaped. And the prison warden brought them up, cleaned them up, and set breakfast for them.
[14:02] Whilst they were having fellowship and breakfast, the man said, what must I do to be saved? It's a belief in the Lord Jesus Christ. The man got saved. That's why they went to prison. They went to prison to go and save their man.
[14:15] Wow. That man got saved. And history believes that he was the first pastor of the church of Philippi. Wow.
[14:27] And guess what? After the man was saved, information came from the governors and the court that let those men go. They are okay to go. Ah. So you didn't judge men.
[14:38] So you just beat them for nothing? Totally. The assignment was completed. Wow. The devil had to be cast out. That demon that was terrorizing the city.
[14:49] For which reason the man of Macedonia said, come and help us. We are suffocating. Come and help us. That demon was dislodged. And guess what? The jailer was saved.
[14:59] So that the church of Philippi can start. And then Paul and Silas left. And the church started. Now, he was in another prison. And now he wrote Philippians to this jailers.
[15:11] This prison. This Philippian church. He wrote the book of Philippians. And he told them that, verse 6. Be confident of this thing. Be confident of this thing. That he who has become a good work in you shall perform it.
[15:23] Even as it is mean for me to think this way of you. Because I have you in my heart. In as much as both in my bonds. and in the defense and the confirmation of the gospel, you are partakers of my grace.
[15:37] He said, I know all this assignment, though I'm in chains, all this assignment I'm doing, I'm praying for you. I know I'm saying this, that God will finish his good work in you because I know that you are partakers of my grace.
[15:52] And look at verse eight. Verse eight is that, for God is my record, how greatly I long after you in the bowels of Christ. And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in the knowledge and in all judgments.
[16:09] So in knowledge and all judgments. Now watch this. He said, I'm praying that your love will grow as you know more and you'll be able to discern better. A lot of things I've said, it will help you to be able to discern, understand what is going on, and not in teaching so you can also know more.
[16:28] And when you know more and you discern, your love for Christ said, I will pray that your love for Christ will grow. When these things are happening, then you can be full blown path, tickets of the grace on my life and on the house.
